I had a surprise in the mail today that is really too special of a story not to share.

a thank you card from a name I didn't remember, dust and cobwebs suddenly cleared and i chuckled, how did he find my address...

we were young owned nice houses, wives, kids but the dude had a problem, liked coke in his arm...

painful to watch a friend sinking, great carpenter, so had him remodel the basement with custom woodwork, bathroom...

one night before he was done came out shaking, needed to get more, begged for money...

I said, kiss my toe, so you remember every time before you do it again what this one cost ya...

he said ok...

i pulled off my work boot, we were cutting wood all day...

pulled off the sock, looked down at the toe, oozing with toe jam and he got down and kissed it...

everyone laughed their asses off, he disappeared...

dropped by a few days later to say he quit...

now 30 years later another thanks,

still has nightmares about that toe... :pound:

do you have a story from the past happening lately? old friends reappearing?

edited to add, I gave him money... i'm not Bush...

my toe isn't really that bad... heheh

About old friends reappearing....yesterday we picked up a couple from the airport
who are staying with us for a few days. They are forensics.
When my husband was fifteen he stayed with them as their guest in the US. Then last year the guy reappeared, via Facebook, and it's the first time they saw each other in real life in more than 40 years.
My husband is in the kitchen already making a huge tropical fruit salad for them, he is blissed out.
They are also into conspiracies, so coupled with their forensic anecdotes the conversations are pretty cool.
