Wanted to make a thread for people to post the best food ever. I have all sorts I could talk about but I'll start with a couple that I have found to be two of the best in the world, available at trader joes...
Sea Salt and Turbinado Sugar Dark chocolate covered almonds. OMG so good. The flavors are just divine...
http://www.amazon.com/Trader-Joes-Turbinado-Chocolate-Almonds/dp/B007T43CNM
Also from trader joes, marcona almonds from spain, with rosemary. Also amazing.
http://www.amazon.com/Trader-Roasted-Marcona-Almonds-Rosemary/dp/B008RDUKRU
Not sure if its ok to link amazon sell page but it's not like I have any stake in trader joes... If mods want links gone I can delete.
What have you found that is just delicious?

I don't know why I have that feeling but I tend to think that the 'best tasting food in life' is something you taste only once and then forget the taste after some time anyway .
Apple pie and ice cream . :p

Iodine? Ypu EAT iodine?
When I was kid and no one was watching , I used to 'taste salt' from salt cellar , for no particular reason I must say .. but for the taste .
In the same manner I'd visit mums spice containers in store room , taste the spices .
Of course I know now ;) Salt is soooo unhealthy .
I think ( as far as I remember being kid ) I perceived 'eating food' as a sort of duty rather than pleasure . The thing you have to do in order to be here .
With no particular religious upbringing at that time, I'd still faithfully pour my milk to flowerpots and threw costly peaches out of window ..thinking I made it to offering ..
only to get punished when I was caught .
The people called parents I lived with were fixated on idea of food in my opinion.
These days, getting less n less hungry , I am more than convinced it has to be love we eat ...
:alien:;)

I love Cafe G's raw tiramisu- I had Pure Food and Wine's tiramisu catered for my wedding to my ex. Their's is also very good- both are so rich/fatty though.
Best foods:
Top of my list are durian and passionfruit.
Second would be the water from a fresh green coconut, just hacked open.
My own raw young coconut yogurt.
Fresh ripe whole organic fruit in season, berries, stone fruits etc;
I used to love hijiki pre Fukushima as well as other sea vegetables. Sigh......
Really fine organic Japanese tea from Yuuki Cha company. Second best would be some of Holy Mountains rare Buddhist teas.
My own fine culinary creations (various grain free vegan delights).

I like:
burritos and re-fried pinto beans
a good turkey dinner with lots of sides (Boston Market)
French toast covered with maple syrup and a sides of scrambled eggs and bacon
a cheesburger from the Tailgate in Waynesboro, VA
spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread made by my son, or the ex-wife (I do miss her sometimes).
My food adventures have not covered much territory.
But I'm open to the idea of appreciating and finding a nearby good cook.
I need to find a way to eat more veggies that taste good. Sometimes I'll sprinkle kale powder on food where it can be hidden.

Agreed, though a bit of crookneck squash will not ruin the dish either. ^_~

Here's some:
Bananas (pretty boring I know, eat them every day... but, I'd die without 'em)
Mandarin oranges (Xmas, childhood)
Picking blackberries by the railroad tracks all those years ago
Pomegranates (in my Mom's lap as we drove around Africa)
Fresh, green figs (a childhood memory, never since)
Fresh picked peas-in-a-pod right off the vine (childhood)
Fresh picked green peppers right off the vine (childhood)
Mom's fresh baked bread (childhood)
I guess, for me the best foods are mostly associated with happy memories -- sharing with someone else.

My favorite way to have hummus. (just had some :) )
Take a small tortilla the kind that comes in a big stack in the refrigerator section, and they are slightly wet. So cook those on a skillet till dry, and slightly golden, or however you like -em. Spread hummus (thick or thin), top with fresh spinnach leaves and fresh basil, add sun dried tomatoes and black beans (slightly mashed so they don't roll off, sprinkle with paprika to taste. Fold and enjoy. This recipe can be tweaked how ever you like. Sometimes I use avacado too.

Yikes after enjoying so much the chocolate covered and any other which way almonds and feeling so good about how healthful they are I learn that FOR EVERY CALIFORNIA ALMOND I EAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CALIFORNIA AQUIFER LOSING OVER A GALLON OF WATER. Yep, a gallon of non renewable water for every almond I devour. Kinda puts a kink in my feel good feeder tube. :smash:

to me, raw vegan cakes are the best cakes...so tasty and rich and feel good (and can be quite light, without gluten, so good for dessert)...I've had them a few times in restaurants (would make my own but they are expensive to make)...I didn't usually like cheese cake when I was vegetarian, but raw vegan "cheese" (*giggle*) cake...when I first tried one, I was surprised and amazed, cause I didn't expect raw cakes to taste so good...

True, I feel that way about all raw desserts. I just made two raw vegan cakes for our birthday (mine is tomorrow as well as my now 3 year old's) and for the past 3 years have always made two raw vegan cakes. They are divine. I made a French fraisier one (my own recipe) and Fragrant Vanilla Cake's raw vegan vanilla layer cake from her new book http://fragrantvanillacake.blogspot.com/

I fancy the taste of_ fresh ...from tree or plant to me ....with my bare feet sunk into rich soil or the grass of my yard as I am fed by the bird songs and a river that runs through it. And especially tart cherry pie, flowing juice, sweetened just ever so lightly and made with a boatload of cherries as they help me to remember the cherry tree planters in my family. It is said that the energy of the cherry tree is hope for the future!
also oh for that heavenly vintage of pinot noir

This is probably much better than regular yogurt for obvious reasons. Still, I tend to avoid any kinds of soy products generally for health concerns...
Have you ever tried cultured coconut milk? It's a yogurt-like dessert. Comes in several different flavours. It's delicious IMHO. And, you don't have to worry about the men in your life growing boobies. ;)

My favorite place in my small college town is a mexican store that includes a taco stand. It has literally validated my living in this place. It is so good.
I usually get 1-2 Asada Tacos and 1-2 Carnitas Tacos. On the tacos is a particular type(s) of greens that are very good(cilantro and another type), guac sauce, hot sauce, grilled onions, pinto beans(not many) all on 2 small corn tortillas each taco... So good... I eat there like 1-2 times a week.

Iodine? Ypu EAT iodine?
Everything you eat is food + medicine.
The mouth doesn't know.
The Chinese say: Eat a banana, or eat medicine. The same.
We eat food and take medicine.

That's why Big Pharma (those controlling it, the Cabal) would like to patent everything (they're working on it).

"This dish is a take on the Turducken—a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey, with stuffing between the layers—and is made of two sweet potatoes inside leeks inside a banana squash, with vegetarian stuffing between the layers.
As you build from the bottom up, it’s half a squash (seeds removed), stuffing, leeks, stuffing, sweet potatoes microwaved for 3-4 minutes before insertion, stuffing, leeks, stuffing, other half of squash. Bake at 350 for 2–3 hours until it’s soft throughout. Slice and serve.
Check out the instructional video (http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/veggieducken-aka-squashleekotato-roast/turducken-turned-veggieducken0.html)and detailed recipe (http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/veggieducken-aka-squashleekotato-roast.html)."

Meditated on the Parthanon, had no preconceptions. Met a kind of caretaker/guide character. He had at some point worked physically thare, in classical times. But now in a higher dimension. I asked him what he used to eat. He lived in one room, and subsisted on a mix that he bought from local shops, a kind of staple. It was a salad made from a mix of grilled and boiled veggies such as carrotts, onions, courgettes. There were white beans like berlotti, and cubes of feta. The cold ingredients were then marinated in garlic, olive oil , lemon or vinegar, and herbs. They might throw in a anchovy or bit of meat. This was then eaten with a rough bread. I think this is very nutritious and balanced, and we need to remember that bread in those days was safer if not adulterated.

Chilli prawns: Finely chop medium red chillies & garlic(lots). Use plenty of a good oil, maybe rice bran oil, or one that copes with heat well. gently fry chillies until soft & red colour released into oil. Throw in garlic and cook until it begins to brown, but no further. Then throw in the prawns with a generous amount of pink salt. If the prawns are cheap, they release alot of fluid. That's OK, take out the prawns once everything is cooked through, and simmer the liquid-reduce down until most of the water has gone. The prawn water contains flavour that is concentrated.Once you have a nice emulsion throw back the prawns, heat through & serve with fresh crusty bread to mop up.Nice fresh prawns work fine and you probably have less fluid to deal with.
Naughty but nice?
