I've been working my way through this interesting book lately and thought that i might share it here.

The Grand Illusion (TGI) synthesizes the paranormal with today's hard science, seeking to initiate a dramatic reempowering of humanity. You'll no longer consider yourself just a powerless little "meat computer" destined for total annihilation at life's biological end; that outmoded worldview is firmly buried by the material set out within. Here, new and expansive vistas of possibility are laid bare; the forces and energies produced by our consciousness that act on the world around us are blown open for your understanding.
Did you know that modern neuroscience considers the brain as a receiver of consciousness rather than the generator of it? Get ready for an introduction to the mysterious "fifth force" known to science-a virtually unshieldable "carrier wave" of consciousness that can travel at speeds far exceeding light. With the knowledge that we are incredible and immortal spiritual beings temporarily inhabiting a dream-like, multidimensional, holographic reality, we can indeed begin to turn life on this planet-which, for many, is a virtual nightmare-into The Grand Illusion. Are you ready to meet yourself? "A masterpiece.
If The Grand Illusion were merely paradigm-destroying, which it certainly is for rearguard scientific 'Funda-materialists' it would be a satisfying read. Fortunately, for those of us dedicated to establishing a new civilization of consciousness, Brendan Murphy's fascinating, inspiring and seminal work also opens the door to a world of new creative possibilities. . . . The Grand Illusion is mind-blowing" -Sol Luckman, author of Potentiate Your DNA

If you habitually highlight, underline, or make margin notes in books as I do, you'll want to get your marker or sharpened pencil ready when you open this one. Australian Brendan Murphy has begun publishing his long-term research into consciousness and the nature of reality in this first (of many, we hope) volumes to come.
At 29 years of age, he says he's been involved for about 10 years in his studies to come up with this first of two books abbreviated TGI 1 and TGI 2. Reminiscent in my mind of Manly P. Hall who published his great opus at age 28 as part of his life-long pursuit of truth, Murphy appears to be carrying on the tradition.
He presents us with a myriad of both solid scientific and inarguable occult examples of the validity and repeatability of experimental findings linking leading edge physics with paranormal phenomena.
We first investigate the most up-to-date explanations of discoveries in science, from super-string theory to quantum entanglement and beyond. We then compare and analyse more modern day examples of psychic research that are establishing the truth of the "Perennial Philosophy" of mystics, saints, and yogis in light of those scientific findings.
Murphy quotes the late Dr. "Kit" Pedler, Head of Electron Microscopy at the University of London's Institute of Ophthalmology and early unofficial scientific advisor to the Dr. Who TV series: "[A] scientist would have to be either massively ignorant or a confirmed bigot to deny the evidence that the human mind can make connection with space, time, and matter in ways which have nothing to do with the ordinary senses."
One by one, Murphy takes us through chapters on subjects like Consciousness, Quantum Weirdness, Cosmic Oneness, Mystical Experience, the Occult Aether, the Superhologram, Chakras, Dimensional Planes, the Human Aura/Bioplasma/Bio-Field/Torsion-Plasma Field, Thought Forms, Telepathy, Clairvoyance, Psychokinesis, and more.
His references are so varied and so numerous one wonders how this young man had the time and fortitude to tackle such a wealth of information. But, it's all here, and, at least for me, at more than twice Murphy's age, it constitutes a starting point for my own further investigations. "Synthesis" in the subtitle is too modest a word. This is a "compendium," to say the least.
As usual, I want to relay some salient quotes from the book to give you its flavour and to encourage you to delve into this most extraordinarily strong and undeniable case for the reality of what is much more than just the everyday 3D world we ordinarily experience:
"[E]vents located in space-time are fundamentally generated by processes outside of it."
"[T]ime itself is holographic in the sense that past, present, and future are simultaneously present at any point in space."
"Modern science tells us that the world of supposedly solid matter... is an illusion."
"[T]his reality of ours is just another form of dream...."
"There is always information available that hints of a greater spiritual reality.... We ignore it at our own detriment."
"[T]he human brain is itself a frequency decoder."
"[T]he forces of evolution are fundamentally hyperdimensional."
"[T]he creation of physical reality is directed from and by a subtler level of reality that interacts with and influences DNA, leading to the formation of a physical hologram."
"We are so constantly bombarded by the `powers that be' with false imagery and concepts that are designed to induce... suppression and subversion of the rational mind that it is no wonder so many people never even try to uncover the truth about life on this planet."
"[O]ur reality... is a virtual reality, a giant conglomerate of consciousness software programs interacting."
"[T]he cosmos... is responsive to our beliefs and emotions because it is fundamentally conscious and intelligent."
"[P]si phenomena are not just possible but inevitable and the furthest thing from `paranormal', as mystics and occultists have always known and told those with ears to hear."
And, finally, as good advice and a not-so-subtle warning that is meant to further entice the interested reader:
"This book... is the kind of dangerous and subversive text that can potentially play a civilising or transformative role - as long as one's mind is receptive, curious, and open."
- Alan Glassman
