The exact problem we have here in the U.S. - leaders that are monsters , giving orders to terrorize citizens under the smoke screen of protecting our respective countries ... so true , when the people fear the government , you have tyranny , when the government fears the people you have liberty ... can you imagine a tank knocking down the wall of your house because some 19 yr old officer didn't like the color of your house , and then twenty soldiers come in and stay for a week , steal your things , and then demolish your home ??? no wonder Palestinians have such hatred for Israel ...

Someone said we get the government we deserve...
I dont see them as leaders, but to manny people do. We only have to stop following them.
What is needed is a form of direct democracy, and people who are educated enough to understand what is needed to make a society.
To me a government would be a group of advisors each with their own speciality and (s)elected for their merits in their field (Meritocracy) who basicly advise you on what to vote for...

I wonder if it would make the slightess of difference, Big Corporations would have them on their side in no time!

IMHO, we need to change, all of us, wealthy, poor, and middle earners with a New Economy type system where the essence of doing business would rest on the "value of Human being", the value of Natural Resources, and other basic values that help families go through life.

From what we know, we are far away from this type of mindset, and we won't ever be able to get to it unfortunately!, hope I'm wrong!

Incumbent out, new elected members in, they (new elected members) aren't conscious of all happening in the Public Administration, Lobbists, etc., Big Corporations might still be able to play easy games on them! Very difficult to find a system where people, ressources are treated equitably all the time, a dream I guess..!
