Who knows a good trustworthy torrent search-engine with NO need to install ".exe" file? And has no trojans, virusses, maleware, spyware etc. JUST PLANE TORRENT LINKS
http://torrentfreak.com/top-10-popular-torrent-sites-2014-140104/
~most "Top 10" you must install a small ".exe" file ... I do NOT trust any ".exe" file from strangers even "trusted sites" could be hijacked by Orwellian Mafia! So how stupid is it, that couple years ago you could easily down load torrent links with no ".exe" necessary ... but now it seems all those Top 10 torrent-search engines have been hijacked by who?!

Install an ad-blocker in your browser as it will likely remove a lot of the BS .exe downloads you are referring too.
As for sites I use: kickass.to, eztv.it and the good old piratebay.org
Disclaimer wise: Clearly not insinuating you should download anything illegal :)

For some things you can just find a youtube video with a download link in the description(and read comments to see if it works). Not that I condone downloading anything illegally... I abandoned torrents mostly...

What sort of exe files? I never have issues like that with all the main torrent sites (but be very careful what you click - anything but the real torrent link, which can sometimes be hard to find, could lead to issues). That said, one still needs a downloader for the torrent file. I use microtorrent (µtorrent), I believe it has a stand-alone version that doesn't require install, but I could be wrong on that.
Other good advice is always look at the ratings and comments for torrents before downloading, and always scan with anti-malware and anti-virus software before opening.
And I second the advice on using an ad-blocker if visiting torrent sites.

Hi,
I've been using torrentz.eu all the time and no issues about .exe ( when i pick a torrent file, i use the "magnet" method) If you have been victim of "exe" file extension, probably your browser/computer is bugged with trojans or another kind of malware. Try to run "hijackthis" program. Is very effective and you can find alot of issues running in background in your computer.
"Trend Micro™ HijackThis™, now available from Source Forge, generates an in-depth report of registry and file settings from your computer, allowing you to selectively remove items from your machine."
Cheers and good luck

You will need an invite. Invites are hard to get - they take things seriously. You must upload to download and keep a high ratio... but it is very much worth it. That TV show you love - 30mins after it air's is up for download in high def.
When you get the TPP (if you don't already...)
Go get a seed box here: https://www.feralhosting.com/pricing
where there is no internet law's in that aspect (notice where the seedboxes are located... :) ) so you are off the radar as everything is being downloaded there. With the account you get a web UI to load the torrents and get the downloads on that server - then a 2nd link (almost like ftp access - and you download it via http - essentially avoiding all the channels that they are looking at - like all the trackers on public torrent sites)
Enjoy

The very useful post below was copied by Bill Ryan from another thread. John (ExomatrixTV), you've been doing something wrong! As below, it's important to click the right buttons and avoid the sometimes very well-disguised advertisements.
I (Bill) prefer Pirate Bay, and also Vuze as the application. I use torrents regularly. I've never once been asked to download an .exe file.
*******
To those who don't know about or use bitTorrents it is a relatively simple process but you need free software installed on your computer.
On Mac I use Vuze (http://www.filehippo.com/download_vuze/) and on my old PC (piece of cr*p) I use uTorrent (http://www.filehippo.com/download_utorrent/).
Once properly installed you can begin to download PDFs, movies, audios, games and software. (for free)
I am including a screen shot of which link you click on. There are usually several download buttons on the page so you need to know which one to click on. It will read: Download. torrent
http://projectavalon.net/Isohunt_download_torrent_button.gif
or perhaps: GET THIS TORRENT
http://projectavalon.net/Pirate_Bay_download_torrent_button.gif
DON'T GET CONFUSED BY ALL OF THE FLASHY DOWNLOAD BUTTONS, LOOK FOR THE ONE THAT IS RELATED TO THE TORRENT.
* Another helpful hint is to look for healthy torrents. They will have a larger number of SE (seeds) to LE (leeches). Seeds are those who are bit torrenting the file and leeches are those who are gathering the information. More seeds faster download = Healthy torrent.
** If you are looking for a BitTorrent to download there are many sites; Isohunt and PirateBay are two main ones. What I do is put the name of what I am looking for in google or search engine of choice with bittorrent tagged on the search criteria.

Thanks for the repost Christine :)
I want to point out that I have very mixed experiences with Vuze. I used to use it back in the day, but I ended up switching torrent client because it
a) Ate up way too much memory (had memory leaks)
b) Automatically syndicated a media-server (even though I never asked it too)
c) Installed unauthorized toolbars (and my antivirus picked up on some tracking/spyware stuff)
d) Based on Java - An unwanted dependency which increases the amount of potential security exploits on any system it is running on.
Not sure if these issues still persist or how it is on a Mac vs. PC. However my advice for both platforms is: http://www.bittorrent.com/ Client.
For a more secure solution I would go for Tigahawk's solution a couple of posts up.
I want to re-affirm that installing an ad-blocker would almost 100% likely resolve your issue downloading unwanted .exe files.
The best (free) ad-blocker I have used so far is a rather new one called AdGuard ( http://adguard.com/ ) - It has less of a memory footprint and does not increase loading time as much as the other most popular ones (Like adblock plus, etc)
