I have been quite active on the forum recently.
I have even been doing research outside of the internet when it comes to my spirituality.
There is no doubt that the forum has helped in shaped what i believe in.
I do wish to open my mind and help myself reach the point where i have no doubt on why im here and where i came from.
And i love learning about this kind of thing.
Aren't we as humans wanting more and searching for answers to our question of life?
Where I'm trying to go with this is personal:

My brother is curious like I am.
Often, I help him question things and even give my answers to the questions he has.
When I try to get him to think about ascension and in general, just open up and consider spiritual awakening, he won't think of it.
I know we are different people and I can't MAKE him do something but I'm just wondering:
why aren't people open to human awakening?
Isn't it in our benefit to do so?

Why do people stop on the journey to awakening and say, "Nope. That's enough for me" ?

My conclusions all seem to lead to fear getting the best of some.

Are you trying to help your brother define his own views or to get him to accept your views?

Define his views, mostly.
Yes, i want him to consider what I think but I do it only for his benefit.
I want him to have a good variety of ideals that will allow him to construct what he believes and stands for

Though, reading back what I wrote, I understand how I didnt use the correct words choices.

And I suppose I think that all forms of belief would ultimately lead to an awakening of sorts.
Perhaps it isn't the right way to think of it

You seem to be expressing an opinion with certainty that by its nature is subjective and reliant on your personal experience and interpretation.

Beware: That be the road to dogma.

As Buddha observed:

"Of course you are uncertain, Kalamas. Of course you are in doubt. When there are reasons for doubt, uncertainty is born. So in this case, Kalamas, don't go by reports, by legends, by traditions, by scripture, by logical conjecture, by inference, by analogies, by agreement through pondering views, by probability, or by the thought, 'This contemplative is our teacher.' When you know for yourselves that, 'These qualities are unskillful; these qualities are blameworthy; these qualities are criticized by the wise; these qualities, when adopted & carried out, lead to harm & to suffering' — then you should abandon them.

“Now, Kalamas, don’t go by reports, by legends, by traditions, by scripture, by logical conjecture, by inference, by analogies, by agreement through pondering views, by probability, or by the thought, ‘This contemplative is our teacher.’ When you know for yourselves that, ‘These qualities are skillful; these qualities are blameless; these qualities are praised by the wise; these qualities, when adopted & carried out, lead to welfare & to happiness’ — then you should enter & remain in them.

It is only through personal experience that a person grows into their truth.

By all means share your truths, just be cautious of your delivery and expectations.

Most importantly listen to your brothers truths.

They are just as valid as your own.

what you are attracted to in this type of system is your own design. truth exists whether you stand on top of a mountain eating a gogi berry, or not.
