Sea plankton have been found on the International Space Station – but how did they get there?
Russian cosmonaut Vladimir Solovyev says the plankton were blown up into space by air currents on earth

Sea plankton have been found on the outside of the International Space Station, a Russian news agency reports.

Itar-Tass says scientists on the space station, whose first component was launched into orbit in 1998, found the plankton – a source of food to many sea creatures – when taking samples from the windows (or “illuminators”).

This, the agency writes, confirms “that some organisms can live on the surface of the International Space Station (ISS) for years amid factors of a space flight, such as zero gravity, temperature conditions and hard cosmic radiation. Several surveys proved that these organisms can even develop.”

Stuff website reported that the plankton samples “were not carried there at launch, but are thought to have been blown over by air currents on Earth”.

Head of the Russian ISS orbital mission Vladimir Solovyev said the results of the experiment “are absolutely unique”.

He said the marine micro-organisms were not native to blast-off site Kazakhstan, and may have been “uplifted” to the station at an altitude of 420km.

“Plankton in these stages of development could be found on the surface of the oceans,” he said.

“This is not typical for Baikonur [in Kazakhstan]. It means that there are some uplifting air currents which reach the station and settle on its surface.”

Is there a better explanation for the plankton’s trip out of this world?

So while pigs might fly plankton got there first. Too deep for a Friday morning.

This confirms the theories of spandermia. That we have been colonised by space molécules to start with.

The old "Charles" may have been right, we live into a vast ocean (the universe).

I whole-heartedly welcome our new plankton overlords!* But how do we know if they're STO's or STS?! That is the question!

*sorry, I couldn't resist, lol

Well, I Hate to lead the thread in this direction... BUT, where there is prey there are predator's.

There have been many reports from the "inside" of simple life forms (Small to Very Large) that live in the very outermost parts of the atmosphere and beyond that were thought to feed on bio-electricity or micro-bio emanations from the Earth.

Do we have unknown (To Classical Science) "Animal's" that live out their life cycles floating along our atmosphere feeding on the same food as whales and other sea life? Weird thought to toss into the equation...

It is an interesting article. I guess it is a lot simpler to make it up into Space then we have been led to believe. ;)

I wonder if those planktons self-organize into much larger bio-forms that are similar to those shapes they are in their microscopic size?

NASA Aliens Or Critters On Apollo Images 2012

Two strange pictures from the NASA archives which seem to show Extraterrestrial creatures of some kind or possibly ET craft in space. It is unknown whether the images of Earth shown in the video were taken while on the way to the Moon, while orbiting the Moon, or while returning home from the Moon to Earth.

Color emphasis mine...:

I take it you mean panspermia. :p

The old "Charles" may have been right, we live into a vast ocean (the universe).

I believe that to be the case, yes, but perhaps not necessarily at the physical level. There is ample life that doesn't necessarily require being bound to an atmosphere, because it might in itself be plasmatic or energetic, and thus free to roam the galaxy.

One of the things "Charles" said was specifically with regard to the saucer-shaped phenomena which appeared out of nowhere in lots of video footage from the Space Shuttle, and which was seen also in the NASA footage of the broken tether. As I remember, "Charles" said that this was not a craft but rather a living being, and I believe that to be correct.
