Taken to its logical conclusion, robots appear set to take over the world sometime far in the future. Doesn't it blow your mind to see science FICTION morph into 'reality' though? I have lived long enough to see this kind of morphing happen quite a few times already.

Something tells me that a robotic take over has already been played out more then once somewhere in the universe. I just do not have access to a reliable history book about it's occurrence.

It's a good thing that anything can be rendered funny if you look.....

Robots will be nasty only if humans program them to be so. I.e. robots will be nasty.

Speaking of nasty humans. This is a kick ass video in more ways then one! :)

If you haven't, you should read The Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea. Fiction and Reality, is there a difference?!

Buckminster Fuller said a while ago that there are more people than necessary jobs, but said it with compassion towards humanity.

No other creature (or plant) has a "job" except humans. Yet, if you told someone that you have no job, they would wonder how you could possibly survive (savings from a previous job? money handed to you? do you beg or steal from "hardworking people?") and probably they would look down on you if you were not employed AND not financially "set."

For the sociopaths that rule the world, it gives new depth to the term, "useless eaters", doesn't it. Luckily for us useless eaters, capitalism hasn't figured out how to do without us, as we are also "consumers" - a required element in the capitalist equation.

I see it as the freeing of mankind from drudgery, and the beginning of a new era far beyond "Renaissance." Bring on the Free Energy devices and take part in the 5th Epoch of mankind! (- Wade Frazier)

Thanks for the referral to The Schrodinger's Cat Trilogy. (now on my radar to read)

I see your point. My observation is that, in general, in appears as if we operate in this realm as if there is a difference. I mean, if we all consciously behaved with the knowledge that the observable world was fictitious reality (Reality TV?) would it be operating any different then it currently is? An example would be how people behave differently when they are actively aware that their actions are being filmed (and reviewed).

I like the optimism, but I think there is a lot of assumptions built into that idea. It would certainly be a welcomed and entertaining plot twist to the current storyline/ timeline.

They will get to the point when they will outsmart us, if our behaviour leads them into so doing.

It is, to me, a strange fact that we are the only species that pays to live on our planet.
