A high alert threat level has just been posted in UK.

"The new alert level means an attack on the UK is "highly likely", although Mrs May said there was no intelligence to suggest an attack was "imminent".

"It is the second highest of five possible UK threat levels.

"The home secretary already has the power, under the Royal Prerogative, to withhold a passport if it is in the public interest to stop somebody travelling.

"That power has been used 14 times between April 2013 and the end of March 2014 to stop people travelling abroad for alleged terrorist-related or criminal activity."

I saw it coming yesterday , with the NATO summit coming up in Cardiff.
The west specifically US/UK seem to be determined to force Russia into
military action in the Ukraine thru sheer Brinkmanship.

The other theatre ISIS is music to the ears of Israel US/UK if you are

battlefield in Iraq again, possibly taking out Syria at the same time.
Iran could also be threatened which could bring in Russia in either

included a new version of the Shahab-3 missile, which Tehran
claims can travel 2,000 kilometers, or 1,250 miles. Various
media outlets accompanied this news with maps showing the
range of the Shahab-3. An interesting variation in these maps
involves just how much of Europe (Russia excluded) is included
within that range, and how much emphasis is given to Israel.

• This map, from the BBC, shows Iran’s missile range covering
the eastern edge of Europe, and specifically names Greece and
Romania as falling within that range. The context of this map
is a story on U.S. efforts to establish a missile defense umbrella
over Europe, and so it specifically names potential U.S. partners
Poland and the Czech Republic. It also shows one city, Moscow,
capital of Russia, which opposes the U.S. plan. Israel is shown
but not emphasized. The map implies the U.S. view that Iran’s

Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, tells CNN that unless the United States or its citizens face an imminent threat from ISIS, Obama must seek approval from Congress before extended airstrikes against ISIS inside Syria.

Rep. Ed Royce, chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and a Republican from California, told CNN that he'd support the use of armed drones on ISIS in Syria.

"I think strikes at this point, against the Syrian ISIS, which has bled into Iraq, those steps should be taken," Royce said. "Had they been taken some time ago, I think ISIS would not have as much influence on the ground as it has now."

Royce said he would not, however, support putting U.S. troops on the ground.

"There is no support in the United States on either side of the aisle for introducing ground troops there," Royce said. "The question is: do we support the Kurds? Do we support the Free Syrian Army in their effort to turn back ISIS? And in doing that, we need to give them the heavy equipment such as anti-tank missiles that desperately they need."

"The most important aspect of this is that this needs to be a dialogue between Congress and the administration in terms of having a strategic plan forward in supporting the Kurdish forces on the ground," said Royce. "That's the infantry that is right now advancing against ISIS, and they need the support."

What I don't understand , if this is true , Why are not the UN clambering for action ?

There are many countries in the UN that could send combat troops into the area
with US strategic support. Thus stopping the need to inflame this manufactured
situation,by having American GI's and marines on the ground.

Also why are any soldiers surrendering to ISIS when this threat/propaganda has
been going on since the start of this operation ?

I know its easy to comment sat here at home safe , but something just feels
manufactured about this. I'm sure the victims in Iraq/Syria are suffering,

‘Islamic State have released a new decapitation video, threatening America
for the second time and urging the Kurds to break from their alliance with
the West against the caliphate.

Just hours after Islamic State released shocking footage of the mass execution
of 300 Syrian national army soldiers in the Syrian desert, Islamic State have
issued a second warning to the United States.’

The grainy video, accompanied by the hashtag '2ndAmessagetoAmerica', shows the
vicious beheading of a Kurdish soldier, who was part of a group of 15 fighters likely

The group's first warning ten days ago was entitled 'A Message to America' and
showed the decapitation of American journalist James Foley.

Government propaganda and the enslavement of humanity

‘As we move through 2014 and beyond, humanity stands in awe of government
propaganda, engineered narratives and ongoing scaremongering. With part of
humanity awakened to the control system’s tactics, many of us are locked in focus
mode, brainstorming new ways of exposing the ongoing propaganda. No sooner do
we expose one false flag, when another is engineered. There is enough lies and
propaganda to confuse an entire generation if you are not paying attention.’


The control system is eager to distract the masses to ensure the success of their
propaganda and scaremongering which is designed to keep people under control.
Along with this long term agenda is a long term agenda of distraction and
entertainment. Amazingly, the distraction and propaganda work carefully together
as an effective tool to keep the dance going. This dance has produced three types
of consciousness that are probably the most meaningful to the overall survival of
the human race.

Yes, all three of these segments can be broken into other sub-segments as within all three of these segments are variable expressions of humanity. And yes, we can separate humanity into other paradigms and segments entirely unrelated to this issue but the purpose of this topic is to show the destiny and survival of the human race for which there is no other paradigms that can compete with this analysis (IMO).

Considering this three-segment model of humanity, let’s move on and see how this is all playing out and what we can do to save humanity from government. When I say ‘government’ I’m referring to segment A of humanity. As I said, these segments can be broken into sub-segments. It’s almost safe to say that most people working for government actually belong to segment C, the segment that is naive or in denial of the overall plan. However, segment A comes from the control systems functioning consciousness that is making the actual decisions. This control segment (the true body of segment A) is much smaller, segregated, secretive, and focused than any of the people who work for government (including military). In fact, government seems to only function via a strong and effective combination of segment A and segment C. Like a master-slave relationship. Anyone who has been in the military knows very well that the key to implementing plans (or missions) is strong leadership combined with strong obedience and followers. Anyone in segment B- those that are awakened to segment A’s (the control systems) plans will always have difficulties of consciousness if working in the system (think whistleblowers). These individuals do exist however and occasionally come out of the closet and risk it all to tell truth. Those that are awakened but are operating inside the mechanism of government but are constantly looking for ways to interfere or expose the manifestation of the control system are people caught between the tracks and we should support these individuals in any way we can. This sub-segment reality discussed above exists, but is not the main purpose of this article. Instead I want to demonstrate how the three major segments of humanity are interacting with each other and what this might mean for the future of the human race.

What we now see is segment A- the control system’s headquarters engineering yet another long term scaremongering, warmongering affliction on humanity known as the ISIS creation. With every passing day, the control system and their mainstream media is solidifying their now clear narrative. ISIS is a magical group of people who hate humanity (just like the zombies in a movie, Jason in Friday the 13th, Dracula, Frankenstein, Hannibal Lector and other “monsters”) and they planted a weapons tree that is sprouting endless weapons and ammunition. They blink, and boxes of money just appear. They have bank accounts and resources to put Al Qaeda to shame. They were born mysteriously, secretly and rapidly right under the nose of every government and right under the supposedly unaware U.S. Empire’s (NATO, UN) nose despite the fact that the brutal U.S. Empire’s control surveillance and influence in the entire middle east which now has it operating as a police in that region for over 10 years. Despite the fact that the U.S. has powerful influence and allies in the middle east, many of it’s own partners seem to have mysteriously gotten together and created terrorist forces to illegally overthrow Syria and many if not all of the actual bodies, that is, the physical men who had been trained and armed by the U.S.’s CIA and its allies, switched hats and now call themselves the Islamic Republic of Iraq and Syria.

Those in segment B of humanity (those fully aware and awakened to the control system’s strategies) immediately acknowledged what was playing out as it was happening. Instead of invading Syria in an ‘Operation Iraqi Freedom’- style, the control system (segment A) rolled the dice and decided to go at it again; create a new Al Qaeda, give it a different name and spin off the same exact “boogie monster-war on terror” narrative that allowed them to get this far (9/11 and the post 9/11 world which got them the NDAA, Patriot Act, all of Afghanistan and all of Iraq, plus secret prisons all around the world and a lot more). The Neocon and the henchmen spearheading the control system’s segment A of humanity decided this was the best way to progress with their ‘Project for a new American Century’. This was, after all, their dream.

They have never been unclear about this dream (to control the world). They have been clear about this, and now we are seeing their plan in full motion.

The ISIS scare is a campaign that is very difficult for humanity (segment B or C) to envision any form of survival beyond. If the CIA’s Al Qaeda script got them Iraq, Afghanistan, U.S. citizens’ rights, and all the conquests and destruction of freedoms we’ve seen in the last 14+ years, what will their ISIS plan bring them this time? Can anyone truly envision what the ISIS project will bring them? Can humanity really afford another round of this global government terror? The answer is no.

I urge all of humanity to count your life lost if you can’t get active in stopping this massive new round of fear and lies engineered by the control system. Help stop the voices that are spreading this lie and NOT telling you that the U.S. empire and it’s new world order partners (Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait etc) created ISIS with a specific agenda. Let’s find a way of shifting the conversation from talking about what ISIS is doing to how did ISIS get created? Or, where did ISIS get their weapons from? And, can we have a court trial to punish those who created, armed and funded ISIS? How about just freezing their bank accounts? Why do sanctions (supposedly) work against one country but against a tiny group of thugs somehow only bombings and whole-country invasions are prescribed?? Doesn’t ISIS eat, drink and sleep? Don’t they need money, energy and more weapons? We have already heard from a former Al Qaeda commander telling us that Al Qaeda and ISIS take orders from the CIA. Why are we then still allowing new world order terrorists like Colonel Anthony Shaffer and U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel to go on TV and lie to many naive TV watchers (segment C of humanity) including many naive conservative Christians (reacting to the staged “save the Christians” campaign in Iraq) to be fooled by these global government terrorist spokesmen? Why are the owners of FOX news and CNN and others not held accountable for spreading lies and propaganda?

Given the fate of humanity, I offer this to all. Humanity will never overcome it’s doomed future until we target and silence the voices on TV that are the messengers of the control system. I’ve outlined this before and will do it again here. We (humanity’s segment B- who are awakened to the control system’s plan) have a bad habit of targeting the government in general. We target the politicians and sometimes even the mainstream media (and that’s good and effective), but we do not target the actual voices of deceit enough.

Here in the U.S. we-the-people need to come together to create and enforce severe levels of punishment for politicians and pundits who lie to the people. Until we can actually arrest, convict and imprison or enforce capital punishment on individual control system trolls and voices like Anthony Shaffer and Chuck Hagel, we will never get over the hump to save humanity. They will always be able to influence large segments of society without any consequences.

Taking this idea further, until we make it a serious crime to lie to the American people, until we officially create legislation that transfers investigative powers of world events to the people or creates a new legal body for handling these crimes, we will never see justice. Until we see media, politicians, and pundits severely punished for the crime of propaganda, we will never overcome our current calamities. Some may be thinking the U.N. is supposed to oversee matters like this but clearly the U.N. is part of the problem and cannot be relied for true justice. Propaganda and lies must reach the level of ‘terrorism’ as it is exponentially more dangerous and harmful than terrorism. The propaganda spread by the likes of Chuck Hagel and Anthony Shaffer kill millions of people and now is poised to suppress the human race into permanent slavery and suffering in a permanent endless war against synthetic terrorism.

Until humanity (segment A) realizes that propaganda IS terrorism of the worse kind, we will never overcome. Unfortunately, right now, too many of us see terrorism as things that involve the immediate death of others. Only then, do we agree to call it terrorism. Actually, even when terrorist like deaths occur some of us still don’t call it terrorism (Israeli war crimes in Gaza). The evidence is clear that humanity is suffering from a mental challenge that it will never escape using the tactics that it has used up to now.

The advancements of consciousness and truth, possible only because of the information and electronic age we are in, has promptly brought us to where we are now and we should all be thankful for this political awakening. But given the nature of humanity and our tendency toward progress and survival, many of us now are realizing we have to spin off a brand new strategy.

THE SOLUTION

I urge all truth seekers to listen to this message. The solution lies in absolutely exposing each and every individual player. Think like NSA, who wants to track every single person and hold personal opinions and actions against each individual person in the future. We need to think the same way. We need a global tracking system to profile ALL globalist terrorist. This database should have an image of the criminal, the charges against them being pressed by humanity, the evidence laid out with references and first hand sources, testimonies, images, videos etc. This powerful database can be like a new Wikipedia for tracking and bringing down the globalist terrorist. It is important that this new independently created database not be a respecter of persons. Criminal presidents and military terrorist leaders should all be subjected to being listed on this database which should be safe from any government hacking. A group like the hacker group ‘Anonymous’ (or a similar type of organization) would have to help make this hack-proof database possible. Perhaps the solution can come from open-source coding projects from programmers worldwide as a gift to humanity.

Let us criminalize government propaganda once and for all. I suggest the model should go something like this: If you are a spokesperson for the state, you are obligated to tell the truth. Any diversion from the truth is an automatic felony with minimal 5-10 years in prison or worse. We need a global new Nuremberg Charter style Constitution which declares any pro-war, pro-war-on-terror propaganda a high crime possibly punishable by death. Warning to all members of CIA and intelligence. This is but one solution to fix the world. Until we can have a quick operating system run by independent bodies that are impossible to overthrow we will not stop this violent empire.

This database would have to have a dynamic component to it, and the names and profiles of the criminals would have to have the above mentioned criteria confirmed before they go in the database. The ultimate implementation of this new globalist criminal tracking system would ideally need local police support as well as state level support.

Is any of this really possible? I don’t know for sure but humanity is coming very close to a sink or swim scenario and if we don’t figure it out we will all sink and drown. Here’s a review:

1- Criminalize propaganda, that means nullifying the NDAA and enforcing harsh punishment for lying all the way up to capital punishment if the lie costs millions of lives like for example, Bush, Cheney, Powell, Rice’s WMD lie.

2- Target and expose the individual voices carrying out the actual propaganda lies on TV and mainstream media including guest speakers, so-called “experts” and authors who come on TV spewing their lies, and TV hosts and reporters themselves. A citizens group needs to focus on targeting these messengers and adding them to the database.

3- Create an international database to profile all the criminals involved in the takeover of humanity. This online, electronic database must be hybrid with top security features and not a respecter of persons.

4- The international community including Russia, China, South America, Italy and all countries can create a people driven coalition to use this database as a legal means to prevent the criminals on this database from traveling anywhere. Ultimately, this database with all the verified evidence should act as a tool to justify the rounding up of all these criminals one by one with proper (new) court orders. Funding to these individuals from other organizations can also be criminalized until the person’s name is cleared to return to society.

As in the Nuremberg trials, those who committed murder were not given a pass for claiming they were following orders. Likewise, those who knowingly spread propaganda on TV calling themselves the actual experts of the information, will not be able to shift the blame on anyone else.

We all saw U.S. Deputy Spokesperson Marie Harf lie to the American people claiming she had exclusive evidence that Russia is guilty of working with and arming terrorists and were responsible for the downing of MH17. Yet when challenged about where she got her source of information the woman spastically barks about how she cannot reveal her (secret CIA engineered) source of information and the only alternative to revealing her sources would be to END the interiew. Harf doesn’t realize that humanity is WAY past this point because it (humanity) NEEDS to survive and believing blind government claims is not a path to survival.

This is where we are as a humanity. We (humanity) can no longer tolerate propaganda. It (propaganda) is becoming the number one cause of death worldwide. It (propaganda) has far surpassed cancer, accidents, heart disease and other causes of death as the number one threat to humanity. We must measure propaganda based on it’s end result (think WMD) not by the (seemingly harmless) moments that surround its release.

This is a new paradigm that I hope humanity discovers before we are all terminated. This is one solution that I hope others build on. Implementing this solution in some way will once again prove that truth really does set you free and that nature and humanity is capable of purging itself. The time to sink or swim is now. Do you want to be purged or do you want to try to be part of the purging? Will you be a slave or a solution creator? Will you risk your life to save yourself and others? Will you overcome fear and focus on the solution?

Time is running out and propaganda is a real energy that when released into the world kills millions. The control system knows this, and they know that the messengers of propaganda have an easy, pain-free, and consequences-free mission as currently they are breaking no laws. This free-for-all platform is their biggest weapon against humanity. Are you ready to start the real battle? Or are you content with the permanent information war we are buried in which will eventually prove irrelevant given who has all the guns?

Until those of us in segment B of humanity (those that are awakened to the control systems end game plan) get tired of the information war and look for a new bold solution like I’ve outlined here, we are doomed to another long and endless journey of agony, fear, and lies. We will continue to catch their false flags and lies only to have to experience the agony of watching them create the next lie right before our eyes. I’m personally sick of this song and dance. I firmly believe there must be another solution other than just battling with information, though I realize the importance of the accomplishments of the information war in terms of waking people up.

Today, I declare my search for a fresh new solution beyond the information war. I’ve laid out the ground works for it here and hope that others will come up with better ideas to keep this fight for humanity meaningful and a fight that offers hope for all of humanity.

Austria has become a central hub for jihadis from Europe who want to fight
in Syria. Austria’s central location also helps facilitate a diffusion of jihadis
throughout Europe with a minimum of detection.

The information has appeared in an Austrian newspaper and a Gladstone
Institute report which has concluded the country, in effect, has become a
“springboard for global jihad.”

Jihadis already use Austria because of its direct route through the Balkan
countries and into Turkey, which even now refuses to block them from
entering Syria, even though Ankara belatedly has declared ISIS a terrorist group.

ISIS has begun to launch attacks on towns in southern Turkey and continues
to detain Turkish diplomats it recently kidnapped when it took over Mosul in
Iraq. That is despite the fact Turkey was very instrumental, along with U.S.
logistical support, in backing jihadis who first fought with the Syrian opposition
but then splintered off and joined ISIS.

Because it apparently has become a central European hub for jihadis, the
Austrian government has begun to increase its own intelligence gathering
and analysis capabilities.

“The spectrum of recruits for the conflict in Syria is ethnically diverse,”
according to an Austrian intelligence agency report. “The motivation,
however, appears to be uniformly jihadist.”

In addition to seeing its own Muslim youth becoming increasingly radicalized
in support of ISIS, Austria became particularly concerned following the arrests
of some nine Chechen jihadis who were preparing to travel from Austria to
Syria using the Balkan route.

“The conflict in Syria is attracting foreign fighters from all over Europe to Austria,”
according to a report from Austria’s Federal Agency for State Protection and Counterterrorism.

Austrian intelligence officials say many Chechens from the predominantly Russian
Muslim province have moved to Austria. Chechens are some of the most brutal
jihadis currently fighting in Syria.

In time, many are expected to return to Russia, which has raised concerns with
the Russian security services, since Chechens for years have launched attacks
inside Russia, especially in Moscow’s subway and at its international airport.

The Austrian intelligence report said the alpine nation has become key to recruiting
and organizing European jihadis who plan to travel through the Western Balkans,
into Turkey and on to Syria.

are Austrian nationals “who have family members in Southeast Europe and the Western Balkans.”

Austrian internal security sources estimate that as many as 130 Austrian jihadis are fighting in Syria.

They are part of more than an estimated 4,000 European and American jihadis thought
to be fighting in Syria and Iraq as part of the ISIS caliphate.

As WND recently reported, ISIS is providing the training and battlefield experience for
European and American jihadis who return to their respective countries to launch attacks.

U.S. and European security officials are particularly concerned because they know little
about the identities of most of the jihadis who could return to wage attacks in their homelands.

They also pose a serious concern for Europe and the U.S., since the jihadis hold valid
passports. The U.S. also provides visa waivers to many of the European countries from
which jihadis would be able to have easy access into the U.S.

seems like an ideal opportunity to spread a message of peace and
economic cooperation; sadly, 2014 has so far been a year of new and
renewed conflict far more than one of reconciliation.

By now, talk of the horrors of war is nothing new. Everyone knows
about the total destruction war brings; in fact, we’ve known for millennia.
As Lew Rockwell points out, “just about everyone makes the perfunctory
nod to the tragedy of war, that war is a last resort only, and that everyone
sincerely regrets having to go to war”—but war continues all the same.
Even classical military strategists like Sun Tzu believed war should only
be used only as a last resort, and argued that military campaigns could
bankrupt states and ultimately, destroy them. Art of War actually states
that “no country has ever profited from protracted warfare,” and cautions
generals to “fight under Heaven with the paramount aim of ‘preservation.
’” Yet as far back as we have historical records, these sorts of ideas have
fallen on deaf ears among governments and military organizations alike.

Economics offers many insights into war making and why it persists, but
the most fundamental explanation is an institutional one. It’s tragically
simple: warnings about the horrors of war go unheeded because the power
to make war—as well as “justify” it in the eyes of those forced to fight and
finance it—lies in the hands of the state and its business and intellectual
allies. States are monopolists of organized force, and as such decide when
and how to use their power on a grand scale, especially when they wish
to confront other monopolists.

In fact, economic reasoning tells us that conflict is an integral part of the
logic of states, which are inherently prone to warfare and imperialism.
That war is an essential and practically inevitable behavior of government
has been known since ancient times: for instance, Art of War begins by
stating that “War is the greatest affair of state, the basis of [its] life and
death, the Tao to survival or extinction.”

The central problem is that government is based on the use of the
“political means” rather than the “economic means” of social organization.
States are not producers of goods and services in the market; rather, they
operate by forcible redistribution. They are therefore founded on a conflict
of interest between the rulers and the ruled, especially between the winners
and losers of the redistribution process.

Furthermore, because state decisions are not guided by entrepreneurial
calculation, they result in the waste and destruction of resources, resources
that must be replenished if the ruling class hopes to continue to consume.
States therefore search constantly for new sources of revenue to support
themselves, and to that end they use traditional methods of public finance:
taxation, borrowing, and inflation. But these policies ultimately compound
their difficulties, generating poverty and inequality, and intensifying social conflict.

Every way they turn, states face recurring economic problems and the need
to distract or suppress the victims of exploitation; war making serves the dual
purpose of (a) disguising fundamental social conflicts by refocusing attention
and/or blame, and (b) providing economic gains to the state and its allies.
This then is one economic explanation of how organized violence on a small
scale leads to organized violence on a massive scale.

If we want to understand why war persists, we have to take account of the
economic foundation of the state. We can’t reason in an institutional vacuum,
like the many people throughout history who believed it was enough to simply
point out the obvious calamity of war, while leaving the power to make it in
the hands of a ruling class.

Without derailing the thread going off on who is behind it - UK has declared the threat level UP, one down from CRITICAL.

They appear to be saying, this is from the Syrian/Iraqi/ISIL (IS) issue, and terrorists present IN UK. They cite 500 Brits who are part of those terrorists. US is saying they feel about a dozen in the US are direct "terrorists" that they have their eye on.

I would assume they are paying attention looking to see who are terrorist supporters or pushing for the ISIL agenda..

The United States, in response, rejected the Syrian condition to cooperate to strike ISIL.

The stratHotaitegic expert general Amin Hotait told Al-Manar website that the international resolution must have taken into consideration that the emergence of ISIL and Nusra groups was not away from the West and a number of regional countries.

"Saudi, Qatar and Turkey funded, trained and embraced these terrorist groups in order to encounter the axis of resistance in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon," he pointed out, "Israel, as part of the US-terrorist plot, assumes the task of striking the Palestinian resistance in Gaza."

Regarding the US airstrikes against ISIL in Iraq, Dr. Hotait said that they just serve the American interests, arguing that if the US wanted to sustain Iraq's security it would have supported the Iraqi army when ISIL terrorists started their assault against Mosul.

General Hotait added that the US airstrikes aim at controlling the advance of ISIL in order not to threaten the American interests, including the security in Kurdistan.

Dr. Amin Hotait considered that although the international resolution 2170 declares that Syria is encountering a terrorist aggression, not a popular revolution, it does not include a practical mechanism to implement it and to account the states which support ISIL and Nusra groups.

‘A tanker near the US state of Texas loaded with $100 million
of disputed crude oil from Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan
region has gone missing, reports say.

On Thursday, the US Coast Guard’s AIS ship tracking system
could not locate the position of the United Kalavrvta tanker,
which was carrying 1 million barrels of crude oil, Reuters reported.

The United Kalavrvta tanker was to unload its cargo at sea,
off Texas. The tanker left the Turkish port of Ceyhan in June
and anchored in an area off the US port of Galveston late July.’

Britain raises its terrorism threat level over Syria, Iraq

(Reuters) - Britain raised its terrorism alert on Friday to the second-highest level with Prime Minister David Cameron saying the Islamic State (IS) group operating in Syria and Iraq posed the country's greatest ever security risk.

The government said there was no evidence an attack was imminent but the assessment of the latest intelligence by security chiefs justified elevating the international threat level to "severe", meaning a strike was "highly likely".

"What we're facing in Iraq now with ISIL (IS) is a greater and deeper threat to our security than we have known before," said Cameron, adding he was "absolutely satisfied that ISIL ... would make specific threats to the UK".

It is the first time since mid-2011 that Britain has been placed on this grade of alert by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC), the independent body responsible for setting the national threat level.

The national threat level was first published in 2006, just over a year after four British Islamists carried out suicide bombings on London's transport network killing 52 people.

Police chiefs said raising the level to severe would mean a rise in the level of visible patrols, along with other security and protection measures.

White House spokesman John Earnest said: "This is a threat that the United States has been focused on. We've been coordinating closely with our allies, both the Brits, but others in Europe, about countering this threat and mitigating it."

The British move comes less than two weeks after a video released by IS showed the beheading of U.S. journalist James Foley, by a masked knifeman apparently speaking English with a London accent. An investigation to identify the suspected attacker is in train.

Foley's murder prompted demands for extra security measures to tackle Britons travelling to the Middle East to join militant groups. Officials have warned that some who had gone to Syria or Iraq might return to Britain to carry out attacks.

British and European authorities have been warning for many months the Syrian conflict posed a serious terrorism threat, but no specific reason was given why JTAC had raised its alert.

"The increase in the threat level is related to developments in Syria and Iraq where terrorist groups are planning attacks against the West," Home Secretary (interior minister) Theresa May said in a statement.

"Some of those plots are likely to involve foreign fighters who have travelled there from the UK and Europe to take part in those conflicts."

BRITONS IN IRAQ, SYRIA

Officials estimate at least 500 Britons have travelled to Syria or Iraq, where IS has seized large swathes of territory, and London's police chief Bernard Hogan-Howe said on Wednesday it was believed some 250 had since returned.

Counter-terrorism police say there have been 69 arrests linked to fighting in Syria this year, a fivefold rise in the arrest rate compared to last year.

Cameron said he would unveil new laws on Monday to make it harder for Britons to travel to Syria and Iraq to fight, and to tackle radicalisation among Britain's 2.7 million Muslims.

"This will include further steps to stop people travelling, with new legislation that will make it easier to take people's passports away," he told a news conference, adding the cause of the threat was a "poisonous ideology of Islamic extremism".

The alert has twice been raised to the highest level of critical - meaning an attack is imminent - after a plot to blow up transatlantic airliners was thwarted in 2006 and the next year after attempted car bombings in London and Glasgow.

Security chiefs say they have managed to stop at least one major terrorism plot every year since the 2005 bombings, known as the 7/7 attacks, but last year an off-duty soldier was murdered on a London street by two British Muslim converts in what the government described as a terrorist killing.

However, Muslims and some experts have cautioned against Britain rushing through new laws. Muslim groups have criticised a "knee-jerk" reaction from politicians which they said could simply backfire.

The U.S. military carried out a counterterrorism strike Monday against leaders of the militant group al-Shabab in Somalia, Pentagon officials said, although it was unclear whether the operation was successful.

Journalists in Somalia reported that suspected U.S. drones fired missiles near the port city of Barawe, a stronghold for al-Shabab. In a rare acknowledgment of its clandestine military activities in Somalia, the Pentagon said it had conducted a counterterrorism operation there but gave no details.

“We are assessing the results of the operation and will provide additional information as and when appropriate,” Rear Adm. John Kirby, the Pentagon press secretary, said in a statement late Monday.

The Pentagon statement did not say whether the operation was limited to drone strikes or whether U.S. commandos had been present on the ground.

Al Jazera pointed out in 2013, October, that Al Shabab was actively working on attacks against UK and UK interests.

UK appears to be serious in searching for radicals and has put out a request for folks to turn in those suspected of being radicals, or extremists.

Police activity has been escalating for many months now. The ongoing commitment to fight this threat has seen a significant rise in the number of Syria related arrests; the first half of this year has seen a total of 69 arrests made for a variety of offences including fundraising for terrorist activity through to the preparation and /or instigation of terrorism acts and travelling abroad for terrorist training. Such arrests are being made at a rate fivefold to that of 2013.

High priority operations, especially against those involved in attack planning or on the cusp have increased greatly. Port stops, and cash seizures have grown by over 50 per cent as we strive to disrupt terrorists.

Just recently counter terrorism police arrested a 19 year old man in Camberwell. He was charged with engaging in conduct of preparation for terrorist acts, and is now awaiting trial.

In tandem, we are working to have extremist material removed from the internet wherever it is found, to promote alternative messages and to disrupt the work of extremist speakers and terrorist recruiters, prosecuting wherever appropriate. In the last four years the MPS Counter Terrorism Internet Referal Unit has instigated the removal of over 45,000 pieces of online content.

At the moment the unit is removing approximately 1,100 pieces of TACT (Terrorism Act 2006) breaching content (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/operation-of-police-powers-under-the-terrorism-act-2000-2012-to-2013/operation-of-police-powers-under-the-terrorism-act-2000-and-subsequent-legislation-arrests-outcomes-and-stop-and-searches-great-britain-2012-to-20). There is a lot at stake. In addition to the public assistance in identifying potential terrorists we all need community and religious leaders to continue to speak out against warped narratives and we need everyone to ensure that public debate does not give oxygen to the terrorists by giving them the publicity they seek.

A former terror suspect has criticised government anti-terrorism plans
as "rehashing of old policies" which will "disenfranchise" UK Muslims.

Cerie Bullivant was under a "control order" in 2006-07 and said such measures
were harmful and ineffective.

But ex-minister Baroness Neville-Jones said plans unveiled by David Cameron on
Monday would have a "deterrent effect".

The government wants to stop extremist Britons fighting in Iraq and Syria and bar
those who do from returning home.

On Monday, Mr Cameron announced plans for new powers to control terror
suspects, including giving police statutory powers to confiscate their passports at
UK borders.

The prime minister's plans include stricter controls under Terrorism Prevention and
Investigation Measures (Tpims), which replaced the more restrictive control orders
in 2011.

Under control orders, ministers could place a suspect under close supervision and
force them to relocate within the UK. Tpims restrict movement, the use of
computers and mobile phones, and meetings with others.

Tpims are used in cases where officials decide a suspect can neither be charged nor
deported.

The Raid that happened on Tuesday targeted a town where senior commanders of the al-Shabaab militant group were meeting, including the group's leader Ahmed Abdi Godane. U.S. Official says it will likely be several days before the death of Ahmed Abdi Godane can be confirmed.

Somali officials said the strike was in the Lower Shabelle region—the region that also includes the town of Barawe, the scene of a failed Navy SEAL operation last October.

Abdukadir Mohamed Nur Siidii, the governor of Lower Shabelle region, said the airstrike hit a remote area called Dhay Tubaako near the town of Sablaale. He said the strike coincided with a meeting among senior commanders of al-Shabaab.

"We have reports that Ahmed Abdi Godane was among several officials killed in this attack," he said.

In Mogadishu, Somali intelligence officer Mohamed Farah said there was still some confusion as to who was killed, but he also believed Mr. Godane—along with the group's spokesman and a number of other leadership figures—were in Sablaale around the time the strike hit Monday afternoon. Mr. Farah said the al-Shabaab commander may have departed minutes before the airstrike, but didn't say whether he was in the convoy that was apparently targeted.

"We do not know yet about the fate of Ahmed Godane," Mr. Farah said.

An al-Shabaab spokesman, Mohamed Abu Yusuf, said that his group would neither confirm nor deny if its leader, Mr. Godane, was among those killed in the U.S. airstrike.

"The Mujahedeen will speak publicly on this in the coming hours or days," he said.

The U.S. has launched several missile strikes in Somalia in attempts to destroy al-Shabaab's top layer of leadership.

In January, the U.S. conducted a missile strike that killed Ahmed Abdikadir Amo Iskudhuq, a Somali national who monitored aid workers and recruited foreign fighters.

The U.S. also conducted a missile strike in October, and that same month called off a raid on a coastal compound because of the threat to civilians. That attack targeted Abdikadar Mohamed Abdikadar, an al-Shabaab leader known as Ikrima.

A U.S. official confirmed that Mr. Godane was the target of the most recent strike, but said American officials also don't know if the al-Shabaab leader had been killed—though they assert several militants were killed. The official said it would likely be several days before the U.S. could confirm if Mr. Godane was dead.

Previous attempts to kill Mr. Godane were called off mid-operation, in part because of the risk to civilians. The U.S. official said they believe there were no noncombatants killed in the strike.

"Our belief was the collateral damage risks weren't there," the official said of the latest strike. The official wouldn't confirm the precise location of the strike, saying only that it was near Barawe in Somalia.

Officials said the U.S. used an airstrike to conduct the attack, but officials wouldn't provide details of the weaponry.

"Fighters from the Islamic State group have seized all of Syria's main oil and gas fields, which are located in Deir Az Zor province next to Iraq, a monitoring group has said.

"IS took control of the Tanak oil field, located in the Sheiytat desert area in the east of Deir Ezzor province," late Thursday after rival rebels withdrew, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Friday."

"In Deir Az Zor, the Islamic State - formerly known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) - has taken over nearly all the countryside. Its forces are bolstered by heavy weapons captured from Iraqi troops fleeing an offensive that it led.

"Al Jazeera's Rula Amin, reporting from Beirut in neighbouring Lebanon, said the Islamic State now controlled "a huge expanse of land about five times the size of Lebanon" and oil assets that could produce 35,000 barrels a day."

Austria arrests suspected Syria-bound fighters

A Chechen asylum seeker suspected of preparing to join Islamist fighters in Syria has been arrested in Austria, police said on Tuesday, nearly two weeks after they detained nine others.

European countries have tightened controls over potential fighters travelling to and from Syria and Iraq ever since Islamic State (IS) group fighters overran large swaths of Iraq in June.

Alarm soared after the group released a video last month showing an IS fighter with a British accent beheading kidnapped US journalist James Foley.

Austrian police said in a statement that the 29-year-old man from Russia's troubled Chechnya province was arrested on Sunday in the northern town of Heidenreichstein and accused of belonging to a "terrorist organisation".

He is believed to have fought in Syria last year and came to Austria in December for medical treatment and to apply for asylum.

He "had concrete plans to travel back to Syria," and the Austrian government believes some 130 people, 40 of them Austrian nationals, have joined the Islamist forces, are heading to join, or have returned. Nine people were arrested last month.

The film "Welcome to the International Brigade" comes from the archives of the British Film Institute and shows the
return home of the International Brigade's British Battalion on 7 December 1938. The BFI digitised it specially for
Philosophy Football's 75th Anniversary event and we are very grateful to them for doing so. The film-maker is
unknown, but is thought to be Ivor Montagu of the Progressive Film Institute.

Sadly the audio track has been lost, so Simon Green of Eventful added part of "Ballad of Heroes", which was composed
by Benjamin Britten in honour of the International Brigades. For the libretto, Britten used poems about the Spanish Civil
War and the International Brigades by WH Auden and Randall Swingler.

The film begins with the arrival of the volunteers at Newhaven on a ferry from Dieppe. Next we see them being greeted
at London's Victoria Station. They are addressed first by Fred Copeman, a commander of the British Battalion earlier in
the Civil War, then by Labour Party leader Clem Attlee. Next comes footage of the volunteers in Spain and this includes
Communist Party leader Harry Pollitt making a speech. The film returns to Victoria Station, where more labour movement
leaders welcome the returning volunteers, among them Stafford Cripps, Communist MP Willie Gallagher and Herbert Morrison,
leader of the London County Council. The volunteers then leave the station, passing through cheering crowds, and are taken
by bus for dinner at the headquarters of the Cooperative Wholesale Society in Leman Street, Whitechapel. Again they are
addressed by prominent supporters, including Charlotte Haldane and Ellen Wilkinson. Finally Sam Wild, the last commander
of the battalion, speaks to camera.

‘Detainees at Guantanamo Bay have been protesting their imprisonment and cruel treatment
with ongoing hunger strikes for the past several months, and have been attacked and force
fed by guards as a result. These actions were condemned by more that 250 doctors from the
UK, the US, Ireland, Germany, Australia, Italy and the Netherlands.

One nurse that was responsible for force feeding the prisoners, recently made news by refusing
to do so. For a length of time this nurse obeyed the orders that he was given, but eventually
began to regret his actions, and became a conscientious objector. A spokesperson for the NAVY
would not release the name of the nurse, nor the details of their case. They only revealed that
the nurse was sent home early and that he is currently “pending court martial”.’

It would be interesting if behind the scenes, actually the US and CHINA had forged an intense relationship, because of the immense investment that CHINA has in US and Canadian industry (oil investments, medical investments, real-estate investments). It behooves China to protect it's financial investments. They have not invested substantially in RUSSIA (except to provide token investment to foster an energy deal that has been 10 years in the making), if anything Russian business is a competitor to Chinese energy interests worldwide.

While on the surface China says it is supporting Syria, they want ENERGY and minerals, and to be allowed to get those. Vast areas of Russia ARE good oil sources AND mineral sources. could “take Kiev in two weeks” if he wanted to, adding a new dimension to the tensions
building in Ukraine as Russian forces become more involved in the fighting there.

As NATO leaders gather in Wales for a summit meeting, Mr. Putin’s remarks and the increasing
presence of Russian military units in Ukraine have posed a stark new challenge to the alliance
about how to respond to Moscow’s apparent willingness to exert military force to achieve its
foreign policy goals.

The Kremlin did not deny the remark, which was published in the Italian newspaper La Repubblica
on Monday, but on Tuesday it denounced the European official, José Manuel Barroso, for leaking
details of what Mr. Putin understood to be a private telephone call.

“Whether these words were said or not, in my viewpoint, the quote given is taken out of context,
and it had an absolutely different meaning,” said Yuri Ushakov, a Kremlin aide, according to the

Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S.
instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.

The officials said dozens of ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to
the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The
officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.

The Jordanian officials said all ISIS members who received U.S. training to fight in Syria
were first vetted for any links to extremist groups like al-Qaida.

In February 2012, WND was first to report the U.S., Turkey and Jordan were running a
training base for the Syrian rebels in the Jordanian town of Safawi in the country's
northern desert region.

U.S. super-majors like Exxon Mobil failed to even bid on any of the fields in IRAQ - there apparently is NO US interest in developing those fields in IRAQ.

The deal was a coup for Lukoil, which had been granted the rights to develop the field in 1997 by Saddam Hussein only to see the dictator rescind the $3.7 billion contract five years later.

Lukoil had been trying to revive the deal since 2003 after Moscow wrote off most of Iraq's $12.9 billion in debts.

Lukoil and Statoil beat out three other consortiums led by:

So in striking a big new deal to supply natural gas to China, has Vladimir Putin outmaneuvered the U.S. and its European friends yet again?

Putin called today's accord an "epochal event."

At the same time, this agreement to supply China with gas has been in the works for 10 years, and a deal had been widely expected this year. The two countries had been haggling mainly over price.

WHERE does the volume of gas go that Russia has then EUROPE or to CHINA? China will pay a bit less than Europe pays for Russian gas.

What the deal doesn't signify -- not yet, at least -- is a global realignment that puts the U.S. and Europe at a grave disadvantage. The tortuous history of Russia-China relations shows that their long-term interests are not complementary. Putin won't want Russia to depend on China any more than he wants it to depend on Europe. Anyway, the gas exports in the new pact, once on-stream in 2018, will be about a quarter of what Russia sells to Europe.

Over the past week, Congressional Republicans have joined major oil and gas producers like ExxonMobil in urging the administration to speed up oil and natural gas exports. Although environmentalists, some Democrats and American manufacturing companies that depend on the competitive advantage of cheap domestic natural gas oppose the effort, they have fallen to the sidelines in the rush.

For Russia, energy supplies are as important to keeping a hold on Ukraine and the other former countries of the Soviet Union as is the Russian Army itself. Ukraine would freeze without Russian gas, and its flow has been a considerable source of wealth and corruption in both countries. But Russia is also obligated by contract to provide natural gas to Western Europe, and Moscow remains highly dependent on Ukrainian pipelines to get it there.

David Dalton, the editor of the Economist Intelligence Unit, said: “Russia has always used gas as an instrument of influence.

"The more you owe Gazprom, the more they think they can turn the screws.”

But this time, there is a major difference. As recently as 2007, American natural gas supplies were believed to be dwindling, and the George W. Bush administration was considering importing natural gas from Russia. (ROFL - the US has sooo much more natural gas both on-shore and off-shore than used, and gas prices are artificially manipulated to be kept LOW... )

Since then, fracking, which environmentalists say could contaminate America’s water supplies, has transformed the strategic landscape.

‘A United Nations’ peacekeeping commander ordered Filipino troops to surrender on
Monday at the hands of Obama-backed Syrian rebels. Thankfully they disobeyed that
order and fought bravely for their freedom.

This is just the latest example of a corrupt United Nations that is leading us all
toward a New World Order.

Why would anyone order a surrender to these savages when the likely reward is death?’

While for the past 35 years Saudi Arabia has supported all the jihadist movements
to the most extremist, Riyadh seems suddenly to have changed policy. Threatened
in its very existence by a possible attack from the Islamic Emirate, Saudi Arabia
has given the signal for the destruction of the organization. But contrary to
appearances, the EIS remains supported by Turkey and Israel who sell their looted oil.

In this photograph released by the Islamic Emirate, we see one of its fighters
armed with a French Famas while Paris denies any contact with this organization. In
reality, France has armed the Free Syrian Army with instructions to donate two-
thirds of its equipment to the Al-Nosra Front (that is to say, Al Qaeda in Syria), as
evidenced by a document provided by Syria to the Security Council of the UN.
Subsequently several units of Al-Nosra rallied with their weapons to the Islamic
Emirate. Moreover, contrary to official statements, the commander of the Islamic
Emirate, the current caliph Ibrahim, combined his duties with those of a member of
the staff of the Free Syrian Army.

the sale of oil and natural gas to be done in both Roubles and Yuan, bypassing the dollar and
cracking the 40 year old petro-dollar system. And on Aug. 31, Dr. Jim Willie reported during an
interview with TFMetals Report that this break away from U.S. hegemony over the purchasing o
f oil is not being limited to just Russia, but that the foundational country of petro-dollar origin,
Saudi Arabia, is in talks with the Eurasian energy giant to join them in a partnership that will also
disconnect the Arab Kingdom from the dollar, and open energy sales within the OPEC nations to
be done in Roubles, Yuan, and perhaps even the Euro.’

‘At least $1trn a year is being “stolen” from the world’s poorest countries by
criminals and corrupt officials who siphon cash through money laundering, tax
evasion and embezzlement.

The staggering cost of corruption is revealed in a study published today by ONE,
the anti-poverty group co-founded by the rock star Bono. It calls on the G20 group
of rich nations, including Britain, to expose the anonymous shell companies which
are used to “rip off” poor countries. According to ONE, the millions diverted from
poverty-stricken nations is channelled through banks and secret companies in
places including London, Delaware and Hong Kong.’

If the money was retained by the developing nations, it could help avert 3.6m
deaths a year between 2015 and 2025, the study concludes. It would also mean
that these countries would no longer need to rely on overseas aid from rich nations.

The report found that $3.2trn of the world’s $20trn of undeclared assets originated
in developing countries. If the missing millions were taxed, it could bring in
revenues of $19.5bn a year. In sub-Saharan Africa alone, curbing corruption could
educate an extra 10m children a year; provide antiretroviral drugs for more than
1m people with HIV/Aids and pay more almost 16.5m vaccines.

David Cameron and George Osborne secured the backing of the eight leading
economies to crack down on shell companies and tax havens at last year’s G8
summit in Loch Erne, Northern Ireland. But ONE fears that progress around the
world is stalling and is warning that the drive must be extended to the top 20
economies, including China and India, at a G20 summit Australia in November.

A four-point plan proposed by ONE urged G20 leaders to:
•expose the “phantom firms” involved in money laundering by making information
about them publicly available
•bring in strong “payment disclosure laws” on oil, gas and mining to stop natural
resources being “stolen” from poor countries
•crack down on tax evasion through automatic exchange of information so that
poor nations can collect taxes they are due
•ensure all governments publish data so the public can “follow the money” and hold
their leaders to account.

Dr David McNair, ONE’s transparency and accountability policy director, said: “In
developing countries, corruption is a killer. Up to 3.6m lives could be saved if we
end the web of secrecy that helps the criminal and corrupt. When governments are
deprived of their own resources to invest in the essentials - like nurses and
teachers - the human cost is devastating.”

John Githongo, an anti-corruption campaigner and chief executive of the Inuka
Kenya Fund, said: “For too long, G20 countries have turned a blind eye to massive
financial outflows from developing countries which are channelled through offshore
bank accounts and secret companies. Introducing smart policies could help end this
trillion dollar scandal and reap massive benefits for our people at virtually no cost.
The G20 should make those changes now.”

The ONE report, The Trillion Dollar Scandal, says: “Corruption is perhaps the
greatest threat to economic growth in developing countries and the uncomfortable
truth is that, all too often, money diverted from their own budgets ends up in G20
countries and their related jurisdictions.”

It adds: “Illegal manipulation of cross-border trade is the biggest source of losses
to poor countries. The secrecy that allows that activity to thrive may also help to
conceal financial flows related to criminal bribery and theft by government officials,
human trafficking and/or the illegal sale of arms and contraband, depending on the
circumstances.”

Some 70 per cent of the 213 biggest corruption cases between 1980 and 2010
involved anonymous shell companies, according to ONE.

“These phantom firms are essential tools of the trade for money launderers. They
may hide the identities of individuals who profit from illegal activities, including the
trafficking of arms, drugs and people, the theft of public funds and/or illegal tax
evasion.

“In dozens of jurisdictions around the world, a phantom firm can be created with
less information than is needed to obtain a driving licence or open a bank account.
Currently completely legal, they exist solely on paper, and allow the people who
own or control them (the ‘beneficial owners’) to keep their identities hidden.”

The report says that governments, law enforcement agencies and ordinary citizens
face “an impossible task” when they try to reclaim the “stolen assets.” It
adds: “They are thwarted by the ease with which criminals can create complex,
multi-layered financial structures in which an anonymous shell company can be
owned by another shell company or a trust, resulting in a nearly impenetrable web
of secrecy that can block even the best law enforcement efforts.”

A spokesman for the Department for International Development said: “The UK has
made strong progress on trade, tax and transparency following last year’s G8 in
Loch Erne, benefiting countries across the world including the poorest nations.
Britain will maintain momentum to improve tax collection, break down trade
barriers and promote transparency in developing countries.”

How poor countries are robbed

In Zambia, a leaked audit report suggested that Mopani Copper Mines had failed to
pay tens of millions of dollars due in local tax. Glencore, which owned 73 per cent
of Mopani, denied the allegations.

Five African countries – Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania and Uganda – lost
an estimated $15bn in tax revenues between 2002 and 2011 due mainly to “trade
mispricing” of imports or exports, allowing firms to shift capital to other countries to
evade taxes or launder money.

In 2011, subsidiaries of oil and gas firms Shell and Eni paid $1.1bn to the Nigerian
government for an offshore block containing estimated oil reserves of nine billion
barrels. The government then transferred precisely the same amount to an account
in the name of Malabu Oil & Gas, a phantom firm whose hidden owner was the
country’s former petroleum minister Dan Etete.

In 2008, the Zimbabwean army took control of the Marange diamond fields. Since
then, government diamond mining concessions have been allocated to several
companies in questionable circumstances – including Mbada Diamonds, which is
partly controlled through companies registered in the British Virgin Islands and
Mauritius.

I was just litening to the BBC news on the radio and the summery
from the NATO conference is that the US/UK are pushing for
another coalition of the willing to attack ISIS by air in Iraq
and possibly Syria as well. This looks like a set up to get rid
of President Assad thru the back door.

They tried last year to get the bombing of targets thru
Parliament last year and failed. Now with the ramping up
of ISIS attacks it would probably get Parliamentry
approval as a humanitarian act......

This is why it looks like an intelligence operation create
and cultivate ISIS. Let them loose then reign them in
taking out unco-operative leaders like Assad in the process..

ISIL preparing for offensive on air base in eastern Syria

‘The ISIL Takfiri terrorists are reportedly preparing for a major attack in the eastern
Syrian province of Dayr al-Zawr to take control of an air base.

The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Tuesday that the
militants were mobilizing as civilians escaped from the nearby villages.

Some 1,500 Syrian soldiers are stationed at the airbase in Dayr al-Zawr, which is
used by the Syrian air force for operations against ISIL positions in the province

Confirmed - U.S. airstrikes Monday killed the leader of Somalia's al-Shabab militant group, Ahmed Abdi Godane

Al-Shabaab leader is no longer calling the "shots". Since 2008, Godane had commanded the group's militant operations, and forged a formal alliance with the al-Qaida terrorist network in 2012.

This group (and its sleeper cells in UK) is a prime concern for UK security. And a likely candidate for terrorist bombings in the motherland.

United States put a $7-million bounty on Godane through the Rewards for Justice Program - which targets terrorist leaders and their supporters.

But independent Horn of Africa analyst Abdiweli Sheikh Abdisamed says killing the group's leaders alone is not enough to stop al-Shabab.

“You can kill a person, you cannot kill the ideology. Ideology will take a long time,” he said.

Al-Shabab's high-profile and carefully plotted 2013 attack on Nairobi's Westgate shopping mall - in which 67 people were killed - took place under Godane's watch.
