"Seek But Do Not Find".....This is the egos basic creed...from ACIM

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one. Albert Einstein

How could we come to awareness of our true selves by sifting through illusion?
(seeking in places external to ourselves)

"Seek but do not find" is the way we tend to operate until we finally tire of suffering
or realize there is nothing to be gained in this world. Only then are we willing to see just how
much we have tried to avoid our own responsibility. The following statement tells what
lengths we have gone to making our beloved illusion real.

And now you stand in terror before what you swore never to look upon. Your eyes look down, remembering your promise to your “friends.” The “loveliness” of sin, the delicate appeal of guilt, the “holy” waxen image of death, and the fear of vengeance of the ego you swore in blood not to desert, all rise and bid you not to raise your eyes. For you realize that if you look on this and let the veil be lifted, they will be gone forever. All of your “friends,” your “protectors” and your “home” will vanish. Nothing that you remember now will you remember.

It seems to you the world will utterly abandon you if you but raise your eyes. Yet all that will occur is you will leave the world forever. This is the re-establishment of your will. Look upon it, open-eyed, and you will nevermore believe that you are at the mercy of things beyond you, forces you cannot control, and thoughts that come to you against your will. It is your will to look on this. No mad desire, no trivial impulse to forget again, no stab of fear nor the cold sweat of seeming death can stand against your will. For what attracts you from beyond the veil is also deep within you, unseparated from it and completely one.ACIM

Our implicit consent would have been necessary if the statement above is true.
My idea is we can choose to believe anything we want.

WE could even choose to believe we're in a physical limited form, separate from our creator
and each other, getting into a lots of trouble, trying to forget we're infinite beings.
The body, the world, our fears, worry, pain, suffering, finances etc. all woven together
with our forgetfulness.

Then there are the clues we left behind, sign posts, markers so we won't get lost.
Things like LOVE, JOY, PEACE and the longing we have for those things.
Then there's the guides...Buddha, Jesus, Ramana Maharshi etc.

When we've had enough and are ready...we can choose again!

Ultimately.

Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God. ACIM.

The two paragraphs from ACIM are strong medicine, few would care to believe.

They are the death of the ego and the part we ourselves play in the illusion.

It is the red pill! for the world could never be the same if these two paragraphs
were accepted.

The strain we feel here is the resistance to the call of our creator/our true self

By choosing again, ourselves as we really are, there is Love, Peace and Joy.

The only true choice is Love ...all else is illusion.

All the best.

PS. Until we recognize our part in this conspiracy against our infinite self, the ego
will continue to send us off in all directions, seeking those things necessary to keep
us busy with non essentials...and so..."Seek but do not find"

What better way to separate us from our essence and truth than to teach us we are born in sin and made of dirt. The fear can be overcome by allowing it to exist, then watching as it evaporates. Realize that fear, guilt, shame, and all other lower domain emotions are a product of our weaker self. They are not of truth and cannot exist in the light of love and grace. Surrender to your idea of God and simply be willing and allowing of the grand unfolding. Accept what is now and intend for something better tomorrow. Indeed, life is a choice. Choose your thoughts carefully, as they have a habit of becoming your life! .

We always were. We will always be. We are made of light! Gloria in excelsis Deo.

True statement Conk, thank you.

Where our responsibility comes in is letting the mind/ego tell us that we are the little i
and then giving it our belief or our attention. When we can instead be the witness and give no
credence to the ego.

We are so much more. The ego is only a vapor, recognize it for what it truly is.
