This implantable chip allows a person's metabolism to be monitored.

You can inject one under your skin and no one will ever notice. Using short-range radio frequency identification (RFID) signals, it can transmit your identity as you pass through a security checkpoint or walk into a football stadium. It can help you buy groceries at Wal-Mart. In a worst-case scenario -- if you are kidnapped in a foreign country, for example -- it could save your life.

Microchip implants like the ones pet owners use to track their dogs and cats could become commonplace in humans in the next decade. Experts are divided on whether they’re appropriate for people, but the implants could offer several advantages. For soldiers and journalists in war zones, an implant could be the difference between life and death. A tracker could also help law enforcement quickly locate a kidnapped child.

“In the long run, chip implants could make it less intrusive than some emerging ID systems which rely on physical biometrics (like your fingerprints or unique eye pattern),” says Alex Soojung-Kim Pang, author of the book “Distraction Addiction” and visiting scholar at Stanford's University’s Peace Innovation Lab.

“This should be a matter of individual choice, but fighting crime should be much easier using chips,” adds sci-fi author Larry Niven, who predicted chip implants in the ’70s. Niven said he supports chip implantation for security reasons, provided it is an opt-in measure.

Ramez Naam, who led the early development of Microsoft software projects and is now a popular speaker and author, said he envisions using chip implantation to help monitor the location of people with Alzheimer's disease.

They could be used to track the activities of felons who have been released from prison.

Chips are being used today to manage farm animals. Farmers can track sheep, pigs and horses as they move through a gate, weigh them instantly and make sure they are eating properly.

“Those same chips have found their way into RFID devices to activate the gas pump from a key ring and for anti-theft devices in cars,” said Stu Lipoff, an electrical engineer and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers spokesman.

“There have been people who volunteered to use them for opening the door of an apartment as a personalized ID using your arm. It could be used to track criminals targeted for patrol who might wander into a restricted area.”

I'm totally against implanting RFID chips in us. It has benefits, sure. But I don't want foreign objects in my body... I already likely have many implants put in my body against my will though, that is the reality of it...

I think one benefit christianity has brought, is the mark of the beast stuff, where an implant is put in the hand or forehead, and people cannot buy stuff without it. I imagine many christians will be against it for that reason... And I'm not sure they could pull off anything like forcing people to get it without half the sheep waking up.... IMO it's ultimately meant for a full blown (covert)police state, where they can cut off someone from being able to buy anything if TPTB wants to. They already track our locations(and more) with smart phones. This would just make it even easier. However those saying it's to mind control us, are incorrect IMO. They already have the capability to mind control without a very clumsy large implant and there is nothing stopping them from putting implants in anyone in the world. The implants they use nowadays are probably made of material not far from our own skin and brain material, and small enough to not be detected by any form of scan/x-ray...

I say a big NO to RFID.

Agreed

At some point they will program the masses to accept these RFID chips (or something like it) as the new normal (not remembering the normal of the past were people actually had some privacy). They have only barely turned the stove on at this point but we know where the temperature dial is going to ultimately go.

We have microwave towers on every street corner, we all carry I-phones in our pocket or our purse, we have wi-fi in our homes, GPS tracking in our cars, and smart meters on our houses.

So, the digital microwave signal grid is permeated throughout everything and penetrates our bodies 24 hours a day.

We signed our bodies over to the state when our parents certified our birth, when we registered to vote, applied for a passport, a drivers license, and took a social security card.

So, I am always amazed when people say "Don't take the mark" when the digital grid runs through our very core every day and we are fully indentured slaves.

In my opinion, the mark of the beast has been taken, and the digital implant taken as well.

True story.

The mark of the beast runs deep and way back in history though the RFID chip is a twist.... ;)

I've not willingly 'agreed' to any of it. Surely, that's got to mean something.

I hear you!

It's a form of proxy agreement. (legal terminology/ mumbo jumbo)

But lets just tear it up, shall we? :)

Yes, I couldn't agree with you more. All that legal schmegal bull kaka... I never understood it and I will never stand under it.

For what it's worth, the only technology we use is internet connected by landline. Until and unless they enforce all technology to run wirelessly (which seems to be the agenda)...

In BC for example, Smart Meters are pretty much mandatory. There's an extortion fee (the highest I've heard) to keep an analogue meter. But, that hasn't stopped them from continually harassing/intimidating (utilities) customers to switch over to Smart Meters. And, renters have no say at all. On top of that, Canada has got one of the poorest safety ratings for EMF in the world (Safety Code 6).

We're literally getting fried up here.

That bites. In Washington state it appears we have largely avoided the smart meters but rumor has it, that could change in the next few years.

I'm sorry to hear that. But, who knows... there is a lot of resistance and it's growing everywhere.

Here in Canada, Saskatchewan actually managed to stop the Smart Meter 'deployment' due to fires -- yet another issue that's gaining momentum. All 105,000 Smart Meters are being replaced with the old analogues. There have been many fires in BC (and the other provinces) caused by Smart Meters as well, but they are deliberately not being reported as Smart Meter related. At least with the example set by Saskatchewan, people are starting to take notice.

One reason I seek out distractions in my life is because of miserable topics such as this.

Ooooh, look at all the little smileys... :flame::nod::horn::juggle::roll::ufo::bounce:

Yes that is what I am hoping for is a derailment before it even arrives. I had not heard of the fire problem when reading about these things but I had heard about......

.......what do we have here? :horn::juggle::ufo::bounce:

I see what you mean. Kind of reminds me of these little devils.

Coincidentally the video has lots of power meters in it, Who would have....

...oh look, here they are again.

Lol! So wait... You didn't do that on purpose? Those analogue meters at the beginning there... no waaaay.

Synchronicity... (glitches in the 'matrix' perhaps?) but that's another topic. :biggrin1:

I know....right? lol

I thought that too. First I was thinking about what you said regarding the smart meters and then I was looking at the smileys and 'out of the blue' an image of these little guys from 'batteries not included' popped into my head. (Note: I have not seen this movies for many years)

Since I am a very visual type person I searched for video from the movie on YouTube and picked out a short clip of said movie that displayed the little guys. It wasn't until I watch the clip a second or third time that It dawned on me all those power meters in the clip.
