To reward Tony Blair for philanthropy - he should be locked up.
Tony Blair represents our times - the biggest mess.

Tony Blair can now stand with Barack Obama and his Nobel Peace Prize. I wonder if these absurdities occur as a sort of slap in the face, or has our culture really sunk that low that people believe this crap? Maybe it is a test to see just how asleep the masses really are....what a very strange world we are living in.

Yes, this world that we created is clinically insane.

It's getting trippier by the minute. But no one's buying this. People are waking up fast. All this farcical prize giving just makes them look sillier every day. What a bunch of clowns clones clowns...

I think this may have been done for very underhand reasons and not for the "Butcher of Baghdad's" benefit. Most people would be outraged by this, which is probably why it has been done, it puts the magazine in the headlines, which is probably the main reason for doing it.

Aheb, are you talking about Tony Blair or chunkymark? There's nothing underhand about chunkymark.

"Philanthropist" redirects here. For other uses, see Philanthropist (disambiguation).
Philanthropy etymologically means "love of humanity" in the sense of caring, nourishing, developing and enhancing "what it is to be human" on both the benefactors' (by identifying and exercising their values in giving and volunteering) and beneficiaries' (by benefiting) parts.
Doublespeak is language that deliberately disguises, distorts, or reverses the meaning of words. Doublespeak may take the form of euphemisms (e.g., "downsizing" for layoffs, "servicing the target" for bombing[1]), in which case it is primarily meant to make the truth sound more palatable. It may also refer to intentional ambiguity in language or to actual inversions of meaning (for example, naming a state of war "peace"). In such cases, doublespeak disguises the nature of the truth. Doublespeak is most closely associated with political language.
DOUBLESPEAK IS NEWSPEAK DOUBLTHINK
In "1984" Orwell introduced us to the words doublethink and newspeak.
A word he DIDN'T use - but which combines the two - is doublespeak.
Doublespeak is saying one thing and meaning another, usually its opposite.
In 1984 when BIG BROTHER and the Party say PEACE they mean WAR, when they say LOVE they mean HATE, and when they say FREEDOM they mean SLAVERY.
Need I say more?
