View Full Version : Let's Create a Jingle!
Roisin
5th September 2014, 10:37
If there's anything I can say about the people in this forum is that most of us are "creatives"... me included.
So just for the fun of it, I made up a little jingle with some lyrics to go along with it and set the tune to a beat. Then I recorded it. I'm no singer but I do like to create jingles when I'm in the mood for it.
But I know the melody could be a lot better than what I came up with so I'm challenging anyone here who could come up with a better tune for the lyrics of this song and then record yourself singing it so we can hear it too.
Here are the lyrics to the jingle I created a couple of days ago:
Feeling as if I'm from another planet
A place that's so very far away from here
Lonely, cuz they are just like how I am
Harmonious in place of individuality
Where is this place, that is so far and yet so near.
Where is this place, that is so far and yet so near.
And here's the jingle I made up to go along with those lyrics

PS... the site I uploaded that song to is free. It's called "tindeck". Just register and upload.
The above link works fine but if you need another link to it, the link below works good too.
Here's a direct link to that jingle. You can either listen to it on that page or download the file.. v. small size.

I would like to donate a piece of music I have written and recorded at home for the Avalon forum heavy metal zap what do you think Bill?
hello Roisin,

Oh.... didn't know that to listen to it, you have to register to that site. Bummer. In that case, I'm now uploading to a file sharing site for anyone to download it. It's a very small file.
Will have the link to that audio here in a few minutes.
Update:
It does not appear that one has to register for that site to listen to that jingle. Just found this out when I logged off that site and then clicked on that link I have in my first post here to listen to that short song. It worked fine.

All I did was upload my audio to tindeck and then a page came up showing the links to it that can be copy/pasted into forums and websites.
Can you come up with a better tune for those lyrics than the tune that I came up with?
Hope you will give it a whirl! Would like to see what you come up with.

Just got back and tried your link but it does not work. Let's do it this way... send me your audio (bunacode@gmail.com) and I'll create a video for it (nothing fancy but will credit it to "sound consciousness) and upload it to You Tube and then I will post it in this thread.

Here we go! Here's Sound Consciousness' music! I love it! He's definitely a pro at this, no question about that and it's a real honor that we've got such a talented musician on this forum!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nj6nUMJ36X8
PS -- the animation in this video will improve in a few hours. Having said this, the quality of this song deserves a much better video than what I have here. Anyway, I just uploaded this vid so it's still a bit fuzzy... but the quality of the audio is top notch!
-----------------------------------
Axman, can't wait to see what you come up with!
---------------------------------
To anyone who wants to create a jingle using those lyrics, don't be intimidated by Sound Consciousness' music... in this thread we are only creating a jingle for those lyrics. Nothing fancy and anything goes. If you want to change the words around in those lyrics to fit your music, please don't hesitate to do so.

hehe :)
I might do a version just for fun (no music, I don't know how)
Timely, cause I was going to write a making music thread on here tonight, just haven't got round to it yet.

Oh, and I must credit Amethyst for giving me some idea's on what to put in those lyrics. Used some of her basic sentiments that she beautifully expressed in one of her recent threads here. :)

Lol... we were typing at the same time! Hope you can find the time to come up with something on this! Can't wait!

Amethyst, I can provide some basic background percussion for whatever you come up with. Just send it to me a bunacode@gmail.com. Basically talking about tempo and percussion's i.e. drums, bongo drums, bass... with a few notes from a piano here and there in the background too.

Check out the site above ...
Pick out a drum loop that goes with whatever melody you want to use with those lyrics I have here or your lyrics. That's a start.
Then tell me which loop you used and I'll coordinate your song with it in Audition which is an audio editor.
I'll add other effects too from instruments on that site.
Sing your song along with your drum loop of choice just to get the rhythm down. You can even record your song while that loop is playing in the background but only your voice will record and not the drums from that site.
Record your voice with a recorder using the same tempo and rhythm of the drum loop you chose... or any loop from any other category in that Mixer on that page. (see previous paragraph)
I'll be combining/synchronizing the loop you chose with your voice singing the song in Audition.

That sites looks good, I feel lost though! hehe. Good experience for me, maybe making music is easier than it seemed...
I recorded my voice before I saw the above post...
Maybe I will send you a PM of my raw voice, lol *feels lost*

Can't wait to hear it S.C.!
I'm going to work on another one too later today. I'm going to use that one music clip you sent to me but will have to speed it up a little... only a little though. But a great tune came to my head while listening to it that will compliment that audio nicely! Thanks for sending it to me!

Yesterday, Amethyst sent me a raw recording of her voice singing a short song.
So last night I created the instrumental accompaniment to her voice singing that song. . Check out the link above. She's got a beautiful voice! Very clear and pristine... with an edge to it that even makes it better!
PS -- sometime later today I'm going to load this one on You Tube.

Good that it's an original... wasn't sure about that and didn't want to ask you. Good job! You're very talented at that too then!

Hi Amethyst! I'll upload your song via You Tube tomorrow.... having problems with my video editor. Some kind of a glitch so I have to uninstall/reinstall it again. Then I'll post it here.

If you want to, you can use your own lyrics and not the ones I suggested at the beginning of this thread.
And you don't even have to have any lyrics for any song you created to post your clip here. Just thought I'd mention that too.
