Scientists who want to probe the unknown just might get what want, and it may not be a good thing. Studeo. :nono:

(Reuters) - Physicists probing the origins of the cosmos hope that next year they will turn up the first proofs of the existence of concepts long dear to science-fiction writers such as hidden worlds and extra dimensions.

And as their Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN near Geneva moves into high gear, they are talking increasingly of the "New Physics" on the horizon that could totally change current views of the universe and how it works.

"Parallel universes, unknown forms of matter, extra dimensions... These are not the stuff of cheap science fiction but very concrete physics theories that scientists are trying to confirm with the LHC and other experiments."

This was how the "ideas" men and women in the international research center's Theory Group, which mulls over what could be out there beyond the reach of any telescope, put it in CERN's staff-targeted Bulletin this month.

As particles are collided in the vast underground LHC complex at increasingly high energies, what the Bulletin article referred to informally as the "universe's extra bits" -- if they do exist as predicted -- should be brought into computerized, if ephemeral, view, the theorists say.

Optimism among the hundreds of scientists working at CERN -- in the foothills of the Jura mountains along the border of France and Switzerland -- has grown as the initially troubled $10 billion experiment hit its targets this year.

PROTON COLLISIONS

By mid-October, Director-General Rolf Heuer told staff last weekend, protons were being collided along the 27-km (16.8 mile) subterranean ring at the rate of 5 million a second -- two weeks earlier than the target date for that total.

By next year, collisions will be occurring -- if all continues to go well -- at a rate producing what physicists call one "inverse femtobarn," best described as a colossal amount, of information for analysts to ponder.

The head-on collisions, at all but the speed of light, recreate what happened a tiny fraction of a second after the primeval "Big Bang" 13.7 billion years ago which brought the known universe and everything in it into being.

Despite centuries of increasingly sophisticated observation from planet Earth, only 4 per cent of that universe is known -- because the rest is made up of what have been called, because they are invisible, dark matter and dark energy

Billions of particles flying off from each LHC collision are tracked at four CERN detectors -- and then in collaborating laboratories around the globe -- to establish when and how they come together and what shapes they take.

The CERN theoreticians say this could give clear signs of dimensions beyond length, breadth, depth and time because at such high energy particles could be tracked disappearing -- presumably into them -- and then back into the classical four.

Parallel universes could also be hidden within these dimensions, the thinking goes, but only in a so-called gravitational variety in which light cannot be propagated -- a fact which would make it nearly impossible to explore them.

You know there is a «predition» that the area of Cern is going to sink, because they are playing around with that «Creation-Big Bang/colision» atoms ??? Tss...can't remember where I read that........or was it a Channeled message...?! Tss, can't remember ! :ohwell::bolt::frusty:

I wondering if we're ready to be playing around with this kind of stuff?

Playing GOD without the complete manual is serious business.

As I recall, the CERN scientists admitted at one point that the volcano (very brief on the news) that the Chaiten Volcano that erupted in Chili in 2008 and had been dormant for 9,000 years was a result of a quark getting away from them. I personally always thought it was suspicious that the Huge 7.9 earthquake that hit China in the Sichuan days later was somehow related as the area was the antipod (refer to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Antipodes_LAEA.png) of the area in Chili where the volcano went off.

We are dealing with extraordinary Scientists here, and those at the 'top' know more than we realise, dont under-estimate what they know does exist and their capabilities.

Hawkins has been postulating for years of multi-verses, and is in the know i suspect.

Season 3 of 'Fringe' is all about parallel universe's...trying to set the stage perhaps?

I wonder if war gods rule the other universes. ;)

Each universe has it own creator. So in my opinion the answer is yes. I have been dowsing the multiverse for a while now. Best I can tell there are about 454 million parallel universes that are entangled with our own. This is not including parallel time streams, and the frequency ranges of reality in this universe called dimensions. Those things are classified by researchers as types of parallel universes. However, they are not really parallel universes.

Of course we're not ready.

Ashayana Deane said many years ago that the CERN facility is trying to open a portal where the future FALLEN 5D earth(that the new-agers seem to be being conned in to creating)energies can infiltrate this earth reality...a parallel earth blend that would be very bad for our future prospects...thankfully there are many beings working to prevent that from happening...while most new-agey teachers are mistakenly trying to lead people in to this distorted5D reality probable future...only those at the very top of the CERN heirarchy are aware of what they are trying to do,namely open portals for negative entities from other dimensions to have greater access and control here...the rest of the people working there are the usual educated-idiots who have been indoctrinated by the educational systmes to stay within the confines of very limited scientific knowledge and concepts

From my understanding of the CERN facility, the experiments that are planned to occur relate only to the study of physics. Quite boring, when compared to inter-dimensional beings, but such appears to be the case.

Now, I highly disagree with the planned experiments; as they're a bit reckless and possibly dangerous. But, I certainly don't have any reason to believe these materialistic pursuits are related in any way to portals, 5D experiences, or anything to that tune.

Look.... Whatever is meant to happen will happen, and nothing happens without a reason...

So... If the LHC is meant to open a portal into a parallel earth, that's what it will do. No matter what, don't get sucked into the fearmongering.
So far, we've not once been thrown anything we haven't been able to manage, and the universe always tends towards the light rather than the darkness...

Keep these things in mind and don't let fear overtake you...that's what they want. Love is much more powerful.

IT PRO goes to the Hadron Collider

We were lucky enough to go to CERN this week and see how the LHC project was getting along, with a little help from some tech giants.
By Tom Brewster, 29 Oct 2010 at 16:16

As everyone knows, computing and science go hand in hand, and this relationship is epitomised at the CERN research facility, where the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is run.

The results of the LHC experiment will give us a deeper understanding of the universe and physicists across the world are awaiting outcomes that could provide incredible scientific breakthroughs.

Of course, to analyse the data from the project, huge computing power is needed along with a widespread collaborative effort.

IT PRO was lucky enough to visit the CERN complex and see how far this exciting enterprise has come.

Into the clouds

The main reason we were in Switzerland was for a range of Intel cloud announcements – the launch of the chip maker’s Cloud 2015 vision, the introduction of an Open Data Centre Alliance and an expansion of the Cloud Builders project.

Above is the Globe of Science and Innovation, where all the announcements were made. Below is what the inside of the impressive 27m-tall globe structure looks like from within, and Sergio Bertolucci, director for research and scientific computing at CERN, outlining the incredible task being undertaken.

“In terms of scientific challenge the LHC challenge is probably the biggest that man has ever encountered till now. It is bigger than sending a man to the moon,” Bertolucci told delegates.

The central purpose of the LHC is to smash two beams of particles together at four separate points (ALICE, ATLAS, CMS and LHCb), recreating the conditions that existed a fraction of a second following the Big Bang.

Bertolucci discussed the effectiveness of the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid in helping analyse the data collected at ALICE, ATLAS, CMS and LHCb. Thus far, five petabytes of data has been recorded and information is being produced at 70 terabytes a day.

There are four major partners helping CERN in its computing efforts and thereby help influence the course of mankind: Intel, HP, Oracle and Siemens. Each provide their own expertise, but in return the tech giants get to learn from the project and so alter and improve their own products.
