View Full Version : Mindfullness Therapy/Meditation Contrindicated?

I just saw this alt news show that finds serious problems with this program in the U.K. There was a thread on this in 2012 that was enthusiastic about this type of meditation. Curious about it and would appreciate hearing from anyone who knows about it.

I was put on this program in the UK. My main Criticism was that it seemed to ignore the socio-political factors in depression just like medication. There's no point in emptying the mind if you don't intend to do something about the source of the problem. You could see how uncomfortable it made people in the group when I made this point.. It was actually helpful for me, but that is because I am 'aware' I guess!

What is described seems like a twisted form of mindfullness to me.
Meditation practices that do not address spiritual bypassing, which
is some form of denying something that needs to be addressed, result is trance states that
have been found to cause all sorts of problems in groups, and are tailor made for "cults" which
blindly go along with the staus quo.
