What does your post mean, Snowy Owl?
Is it an earthquake?
And if it is, aren't all earthquakes above 5 something registered on these boards?
Curious to know.

It would seem that post refer to this :
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/se102810c.php
Indeed an earthquake, 2,5 on the scale, so not very big, but if in the wrong
place, who knows what it could signify.
All quakes above magnitude 5 from all the world appear as threads on this forum,
started by USGS (United States Geological Survey).
..
I also find the post a little puzzling.
Madrid fault
What can I say................
Are you blaming Madrid, Snowy Owl ?
..
(yes, I do know it means faultline)
:-)

Curious, since I live on the south end of the New Madrid, I looked up any mention of quakes this month and found that Arkansas has been experiencing daily small quakes all month:

Clif High and George Ure have been predicting a 'big one', possibly along the New Madrid. I believe Edgar Cayce predicted a big one along it as well, so I keep an eye on reports concerning it...
I generally try to avoid being fearful about it...but it seems sensible to be aware.

Here's a blurb on Edgar Cayce prediction about the New Madrid being connected to the oil spill:
http://beforeitsnews.com/story/77/597/EDGAR_CAYCE_predicted_Gulf_oil_spill_activating_Madrid_earthquake_destroying_1_2_of_USA_down_the_Mis sissippi.html
EDGAR CAYCE predicted Gulf oil spill activating Madrid earthquake & destroying 1/2 of USA down the Mississippi
As the Great Lakes, at 600 feet above sealevel, rushes down the Mississippi River. at least 50 miles on each side, the 600 foot wave will destroy much of America, right down the middle. All due to the oil spill event. After the oil dumps billions of gallons of oil, then the ice cold water will enter the crevice, where it is 400 degrees, and cause an explosion, and the mother of all tsunanmi waves, which will wipe out the Gulf States, including Florida. THEN the Madrid faultline will blow, Goodbye, Chicago and Saint Louis, and all the other cities in its path. There will be no time to evacuate, and it will be impossible to try to outrun the rushing water from the TWO catastrophes.
Another earthquake along the New Madrid fault could cause a tsunami-like flood that would devastate the cities along the Mississippi River. Edgar Cayce actually prophesied a two-stage Midwest flood in which the Great Lakes would overflow into the Mississippi and a great watery divide would split the USA down the middle. The Mississippi River would then become the Great Midwest Strait.

All the weight from the glaciers form huge indentations on the Earth's land masses, now as glaciers melt around the world the land where the glaciers sat is beginning to rise without having all the weight bearing down. As it rises it's also causing the tectonic plates to shift creating earthquakes and magma's to flow causing volcanic increased activity worldwide. It also makes sense that removing millions and billions gallons of oil from the earth will have a similar effect.
Isn't it interesting that the BP oil spill just happened to take place at the foot of the Mississippi River basin and also a major North American fault line the runs up the Mississippi River, which intersects with the New Madrid fault line as well...not good.
My parents are in Oklahoma City so I have particular interest in the Oklahoma and Arkansas earthquakes, one thing of interesting note is that they all happen about 3 miles down. Oklahoma has had over 50 quakes mostly in the 2.0-3.0 range, although a couple weeks ago there was a 4.5 10 miles east of Norman, that got everyone's attention...not sure how many in Arkansas, probably about the same.
All these earthquakes make me wonder what's going on and if it has anything to do with the New Madrid, or if they're related to all the oil that was removed during the oil boom. The entire state was littered with oil rigs....
