In the days, weeks and months that went by the police did a full investigation of the incident. Marks on the ground were found at the location and eventually the official report by the Livingston Criminal Investigation Department concluded:


Despite extensive inquiries made, no information was been gained which could indicate what, in fact, made the marks on the ground at the location. Mr. Taylor is a respected member of the community and is described as a conscientious and trustworthy person, not likely to invent a story.

Taylor never gained any celebrity status or made any financial gains through telling his story, which never changed from when it first came to light in 1979 up until his death at age 89, in 2007. The Livingstone case remains unsolved to this day, and is the only UFO case in the UK which has resulted in a criminal investigation.

I can remember this incident and Arthur C Clarkes mysterious world
was a great programme for its time and is one of the shows that
really made me question the meaning of life , ET's etc.....

This is genuine case for me, there were several interesting reports of
sighting that were on the main news , one was a cigar shaped craft
spotted from a New Zealand plane that was on several times and there
were others.....

English Woman Describes Her Close Encounter On Oct. 21st 1954

On October 21st,1954 in West Midlands, England, Jessie Rosenberg, then aged 29
and her two children, witnessed a object flying overhead then hovering over her
house. She described the event as "Two Blondes" in a "Mexican-Hat" like craft.
They also saw two humanoid figures with blond hair staring down at them. This
video was banned from airing on TV in the UK starting in the late 60's

You have to consider the high strangeness of these events, the people that witnessed this incidents have to come to terms with what they are seeing and can only perhaps describe them according to their understanding and experiences in their lives. Sometimes we see them accidentally other times we are meant to see them. It is possible that something far deeper is happening on another level of our being beyond the conscious mind, these encounters are more than what we see with our own eyes, there is something far deeper going on here.
