Given the Georgia Guide Stones as just had the date 2014 attached to it, I would say the Powers That Be are moving in for the kill with their manufactured and even patented Ebola virus. And what better state to start it all in than the loan star state of Texas. Texas is the big nail in the piece of wood and it is no wonder the outbreak will start there even if this story is fabricated I think Texas is ground zero for the PTB initial attack. Get ready for the death camp's and round up's of subversive's who will conveniently die of said disease. And the beauty of it no one will question the event. The perfect kill shot.

Personally, it's shocking and I don't know what to think.
I wonder about the potential economic effect the news of the outbreak could have on the US markets.

Even if the disease itself is contained, what ulterior motive could such an outbreak serve,
in the big scheme of things?

Which industries would be most affected by the outbreak of disease?
Distribution, water, sanitation, to name a few.
The medical industry too, not to leave it out.

Schools will be affected and anyone depending on the college town economy or anything like that.
Churches and public transportation will be affected...

From just a city-planning level, the "practical" standpoint,
Ebola showing up in the USA is pretty much worst case scenarior.

And I am trying to be cheerful.
We are not much better prepared for this than Africa.
I fear that the energy giants will just take advantage of an outbreak as if it's the Fourth of July.
We will see unregulated prices forcing people into extreme hardship,
followed by martial law,
unless the gov't acts fast and smart.

Something is not right here. I mean why let people from infected countries fly? You only have to criticise your senator or president to get yourself on a NO FLY LIST yet anyone in a heavily infected country with Ebola can wrack up thousands and thousands of air miles and visit who the hell they like. Something smells here and it isn't my socks or the cheese I ate last night that fell on the floor. I think it is a story to prepare the public to accept it as a unfortunate set of circumstances and just tuff luck when in reality it is the PTB deliberately spreading the virus to finish off the 90% of the global population that we all know they have been talking about for many, many years now at either their Bilderberg meetings or in their secret societies. The perfect excuse now to top people, Just round them up, ill or not, any subversives or people you just didn't like you top them and just announce they died of the virus...so sad, we was just to late with the antidote and if only they would of been more compliant we could of saved them. Once they brought that ebola infected Doc back to the U.S., the game was up. I know it's unrelated to this new case, but you could see the gears turning there. The next step was obvious.

Google "ebola mortality rate" -- it's right there, Google itself proudly announces, mortality rate up to 90%!

Yet ... take a look at the official Ebola outbreak stats so far. From Wikipedia, info might be slightly outdated: 6,808 cases / 3,159 deaths. That's a 46% mortality rate, just under half of the oft-quoted, fear-porny, "up to 90%" figure.

Somebody wants you to be afraid ... very afraid!

Not that I think Ebola is anything to scoff at. But I am not going to give in to fear.

If I had to put on my tin foil hat and guess the end game, it's mass panic that the PTB can blame the collapse of our economy on. In my amateur opinion -- our economy has been steadily unraveling for years, and appears to be ready to fall at any moment. But they need someone, something, to pin the blame on (and lord knows the bankster excuse won't cut it again after 2008!)

Seems it'd be easy to blame an economic collapse on an Ebola outbreak that prevents people from going in to work ... wouldn't it?

I also note that today, September 30, is the last day of fiscal year 2014, with FY 2015 beginning tomorrow. And the FY 2015 budget hasn't been fully approved by the House, nor voted on at all by the Senate. Wasn't our MSM freaking out weeks in advance of this date last year? And yet this year ... nary a peep from the Fourth Estate? Interesting!

Please take my post with a hefty grain of salt, though. I am only trying to figure out the PTB's moves ahead of time ... but it's not easy thinking like a psychopath ... and I have been wrong many, many times -- and probably am again here. I just said this to someone I was talking to about this scenario, and said "the biggest State in US" and they had to be the first to get the virus??? That sounds like a calculated Cabal move right there to me. Didn't the BRICS bank go online today in China? Now the first case of Ebola in the US? A man who took a commercial flight from Liberia that landed in Dallas on Sept. 20 has been found to have the Ebola virus, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported on Tuesday. He is the first traveler to have brought the virus to the United States on a passenger plane and the first in whom Ebola has been diagnosed outside of Africa.

As the disease has swept across West Africa, many health experts said it would be only a matter of time before it reached the United States. Hospitals and health departments around the country have been preparing for it, and a number of false alarms have occurred. But this time, the case is real.

The man, who was visiting relatives in the United States, was not ill during the flight, health officials said at a news conference Tuesday evening.

Indeed, he was screened before he boarded the flight and had no fever. Because Ebola is not contagious until symptoms develop, there is “zero chance” that the patient infected anyone else on the flight, said Dr. Thomas R. Frieden, director of the disease centers. Ebola is spread only by direct contact with body fluids from someone who is ill.

A team from the C.D.C. is being dispatched to Dallas to help trace any contacts who may have been infected, including family members, health care workers and others with whom the patient spent time in Dallas. Health officials in Texas said they had already begun that process. Dr. Frieden said the family and community contacts were few, no more than a handful. But he said it was possible that family members who were with the man while he was ill would turn out to be infected.

Contact tracing involves identifying people who might have been exposed to the patient during the time he was infectious, and then monitoring them for symptoms every day for 21 days — the full incubation period of the disease. Most people develop symptoms within eight to 10 days of being exposed. Anyone who starts running a fever or having symptoms is then isolated and tested for Ebola. If the test is positive, that person is kept in isolation and treated, and his or her contacts are then traced for 21 days. The process is repeated until there are no new cases.

Describing these methods as “tried and true,” Dr. Frieden said, “I have no doubt that we’ll stop this in its tracks in the U.S.”

Dr. Frieden declined to disclose flight information or to say whether the patient is an American citizen. He said the man was not a health worker, and officials had no idea how he had become infected.

Not surprised at all. Watched a program on msm the other day outlining pandemic preparedness strategies for Aus. This program was only produced this year. They used bird flu as their what if scenario, but it was obvious Ebola propaganda.

Interesting highlights.
- Politicians will stop medical authorities from telling the public the truth.
- Institutions such as schools, public gatherings, businesses will NOT be shut down because it costs too much money.
- Health and security forces will be the only ones with access to preventative meds or initial 'cures'.
- It will take 12 weeks to effect a vaccine once they can properly identify a flu strain.
- Once a pandemic has become so prevalent that ppl are running out of food, they already have a strategy to isolate selected grocery stores, with infection assessment before entering. One way traffic inside store, and a one trolley length distance policy on all customers.
- Patients will be turned away from hospitals.
- Doctors agree that patients should be seen at home, but because the government won't pay for telemedical assessment doctors will not speak to patients via Internet.
- Doctors would not agree to pharmacies distributing vaccines because the doctors would lose money.

Notice how much money is a priority.

In the other threads it was pointed out the differences in critical care between different countries. How things are done overseas in West Africa (actually not done - :doh: ... )

I agree the travel issue with screening and lack of it, is a big mistake, but what may work is if one is IN an Ebola country and has to travel, showing proof of No-Infection may be needed. They already require a YELLOW-CARD (I have one for instance) showing one has been innoculated against some of the yucky diseases, like Yellow Fever, before one can be allowed INTO a country...

Every Ebola case brought into the US so far has been CURED and released into the public world.. That sorta creeps me out, the definition of LONG TERM CURE whatever that means.. I don't creep out easily btw..

The magic dates for the person in Texas would be the 23/24, whom did they come in contact with..

In another thread (Roisin pointed out some of the data above), the particular method to search out where the person has been, similar to the MERS_nCOV infection with persons coming in from Saudi Arabia for instance, was used, to back track someone from Boston all the way to Georgia, using all sorts of alternate transport beside airflight... (and that person was presenting and active during traveling)... but no mass epidemic that we can determine (except for this very strange D68 virus which sure looks like a modified form of MERS_nCoV effecting the US's kids...) hmmm...

The gig with the EBOLA thing is it is a virus which messes with the immune system, the ability to fight, as does various HIV type of viruses.. mess with the immune system.. prevent the immune system from safely dealing with the infection (safely dealing with means turn on FLOODING from cells to wash the virus out, unsafe flooding results in explosive edemas)...

I still seem to feel the spirtual thing to do is to confront the issue squarely and clearly getting the "charge off" (doing the venting, speak the worry, etc..) then start to see clearly what's happening.. EXACTLY for oneself, not parroting what one has heard somewhere..

I think it's a good intuitive on that one SilentFeathers.. I did say it doesn't concern me at the moment. Statistically with travel from west Africa back to the US, or travel from people in west Africa to Europe, then to Canada/US happens every day due to the business happening in west Africa.. its bound to happen..

That was one of the reasons why there was extreme hesitancy to shutting down the 3 primary countries affected, business interests would suffer #1, and #2, essential supplies coming into the country would be curtailed.. I had pointed that out in another thread, callousness about business takes precedent over human life.. so if "business" is the factor here, who want's business to shut down, the market to take a major corrective action?

But on topic, does it concern me that another patient with Ebola is in the US... you and I talked at length in the other thread, about lack of proper air protection security transporting a patient through Georgia, and this new patient had ZERO air protection control from the 23/24 through the admittance date to the hospital.. They say, ONLY a few family members, and community members being monitored (nothing had been said about who was in the ER the check-in, or waiting room at the hospital.) I have yet to see anyone admitted in under an hour or so waiting around for some space to open up in ER...

The current virus is incubating about 5-7 days after exposure, so that means this week starting with today is when other's expose could come down with it, showing flu-like symptoms, fever and the nasty headache.. Anybody in Dallas near where this person lives coming down with those symptoms ?

Epidemics, conflicts and disasters

As of now, new epidemics have spread among the people of Earth; however, as Henoch prophesied, quite a number of further epidemics will follow. Yet France will not only engage in armed conflicts with Spain, for within her great unrests will arise, leading to upheavals and civil war, as [will be] the case in Russia and Sweden. Especially in France and Sweden, machinations as well as dictatorial regulations of the European Union will cause much unrest and many uprisings; but also crimes committed by gangs and organised criminal elements in these countries will cause unavoidable civil wars.
In addition, significant tensions will arise between the native citizens and immigrants from foreign countries, who as a rule also observe religious beliefs different from those of the native populace. And in the end, this will lead to severe conflicts. Hatred against strangers, foreigners and people of different religious beliefs will be the order of the day, as well as the rise of neo-Nazism, terrorism and right-extremism. Conditions similar to civil war will be in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and claim many lives.
The Soviet Union will be dissolved in this decade or at the latest by the beginning of the next. The man decisive for this action will be Mikhail Gorbachev. But this will not lead to rest, because the new Russia will continue its longstanding conflict with China over Inner Mongolia, with the result that Russia will lose a portion of this territory to China. And China becomes dangerous, especially to India, as also at this time China maintains uneasy relations with her. China will attack India; and if biological weapons are used, around 30 million human beings will be killed in the area of and around New Delhi alone. However, this will not be the end yet—because the effect of biological bombs and missiles, etc., used cannot be controlled at that time, and terrible epidemics unknown up to that point in time will arise and will spread quickly to many areas. Wars and devastation in Europe and North America
Yet Russia will not rest and will attack Scandinavia, and in doing so will embroil all of Europe. And months before that, a terrible tornado will have swept across northern Europe, causing great devastation and destruction. It must still be stated that the Russian attack will occur during the summer, in fact, starting from Arkhangelsk. Denmark will not be dragged into the war, due to the insignificance of this country. Yet Russia will not be satisfied with this action of war, as her will for expansion will be ravenous. And consequently Russia will launch a military attack against Iran and Turkey and will conquer these two countries in bloody fighting, causing enormous destruction.
In the Russian expansionist mentality will also be included the drive to gain control of the Middle Eastern oil deposits as well as to gain control of the southeastern region of Europe. Therefore, she will also invade the Balkans and conquer these countries there in enormous battles, causing ruthless and devastating destruction with many deaths.
This will be at the time that tremendous natural disasters will hit Italy and its people, causing severe hardship. But this will also be at the time when Vesuvius could become active again and could spread tremendous havoc. At the same time, a war will shake Italy and claim many human lives as well as cause great destruction.
Destruction of war will descend on the northern countries as strong military forces will invade them from the East and will pillage and murder as well as use bombs and missiles, like hail coming down, and hitherto unknown weapons of laser- and computer-controlled types which will destroy and annihilate everything, whereby the first target will be Hungary and after that will follow Austria and northern Italy. Switzerland will also be severely affected, but will not be the actual target; this will be France and Spain. However, the main objective of the aggressors will be to bring all of Europe under their military control, and for that purpose France will be selected to be the headquarters.
France will not only be invaded by the aggressors from the outside, but will also be conquered from within as a result of collaborative forces and other forces. This can be envisioned as being the many foreigners of a different religion living in France at that time, and specifically Islam, which will be this force working from within. Once France has fallen, a war to conquer Spain and England will take place. Subsequently, an alliance with the forces of the aggressors will be formed, which will invade Scandinavia.
For all these French-based military operations, the weapons of mass destruction stored in the arsenals of France will be used and cause evil devastation, destruction and annihilation. The aggressors from the East will force the French Army to join their military forces and lead a war of conquest against the northern countries of Europe, invading and conquering Sweden and Norway. Subsequently, these northern countries will be annexed by Russia. Military forces will also attack Finland, whereby many will be killed and an enormous destruction will be caused.
At the same time, as a civil war rages in Germany, an enormously bloody revolution will break out in England which will claim more lives than will be claimed by the civil war in Germany. And because England and Ireland have been at war for a long time already, due to the IRA and the police and military forces of England, the result will be (because this feud will continue up to that time) that this revolution will spread out to all of Ireland, especially affecting Northern Ireland. Many lives will be lost during a civil war in Wales, where differences between various parties will arise before the Third World War. Welsh and English forces will clash especially near Cymru, and claim many lives and cause great destruction.
But death, destruction and annihilation will not only rage in Europe but also in America, where much suffering will have to be endured and many deaths as well as destruction and annihilation will be. America and Russia will have the most terrible weapons of mass destruction at their disposal—a fact which is already the case to a certain extent today—and will clash with violent force against each other at that time of conflict, whereby Canada will also be dragged into this conflict. The source of this conflict will substantiate the Russian attack on the American State of Alaska and against Canada.
This conflict will result in mass killings of human beings as well as devastating destruction, annihilation and epidemics, etc., which mankind of Earth will never have seen and experienced up to that time. Not only nuclear, biological and chemical weapons will be used en masse, but also enormously deadly systems of computer-controlled weapons that are only in the beginning stages of development today, or will be invented and constructed during the third millennium.

Worldwide natural catastrophes
As already mentioned, enormous natural catastrophes and rolling walls of fire and violent hurricanes will rage all across America, while, in addition, all the terrible effects of war will bring thousandfold deaths, destruction and annihilation. America's largest cities will be absolutely destroyed, and firestorms will cause great disaster and misery.
Severe earthquakes and volcanic eruptions will also belong to that time, and these will cause much suffering and misery and deaths besides enormous destruction and devastation, as all of nature and the planet itself will rise up against the insanity of human beings on Earth. These activities have already begun at the present time, also during the past decades—with the exception that they will become increasingly more devastating in the future. And man of Earth is guilty for the most part today, as also in the future it is man who will destroy the entire environment—all of nature, the atmosphere, water and all the resources of the planet.
And through this, a shifting of weight inside the Earth takes place, caused for example by the creation of gigantic lakes by damming and by creating hollow caverns due to the exploitation of petroleum and gas, etc. And thereby unnatural inner-Earth movements are created, which also lead to unnatural tectonic effects and cause earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, which also in turn cause enormous climatic changes, resulting in horrendous tornadoes of devastating proportions which in the end will set their destructive energies free on the entire world. Monrovia, Liberia (CNN) -- Meet Dr. Gorbee Logan, the county health director for Bomi County in Liberia.
You have now met half the medical team in Bomi County.
There are two doctors in the entire county. I don't mean two doctors to treat Ebola patients but two doctors, period.

Two doctors to take care of Ebola patients, plus the 100 patients in their general hospital, plus the rest of the county. That's two doctors for about 85,000 people.
Logan doesn't complain, even though he's been working around the clock since June, when the first Ebola case appeared in this agricultural county.

Logan has been begging the federal government for more than a month for an official Ebola treatment unit, one with more beds and a quarantine area for people who've come in close contact with Ebola patients but aren't sick.
My team and I -- senior producer John Bonifield, senior photographer Orlando Ruiz and our coordinator, Liberian journalist Orlind Cooper -- saw firsthand Tuesday night just how much he needs a real hospital.
About 7 p.m., an ambulance arrived at Logan's facility in Tubmanburg with five people who, the day before, had washed the bodies of a mother and daughter who had died of Ebola.
After they'd done the washing, their community kicked them out, Logan told us.
Now the five relatives -- three adults, a 13-year-old and a 5-year-old -- were in the ambulance in Ebola limbo. They couldn't go back home, and they couldn't go into the facility because they might get infected.

By the light of a single bulb outside the facility, Logan convened an impromptu meeting between himself, county Superintendent Samuel Brown and acting county Field Officer Frances Alesi.
It was decided they'd look for a government building of some kind where the family could spend the 21-day quarantine. The county health department would feed them and take care of their needs.
But they weren't going to find a place until the morning. The five relatives would have to spend the night in the ambulance. Logan put in an order for a second ambulance so they could stretch out and sleep more comfortably.

Desperation grows in the Ebola zone

Logan and his staff are doing a heroic job of taking care of Ebola patients under difficult circumstances. He's strict about infection control -- no health care workers have died on his watch -- and he resourcefully tries different drugs to save his dying patients.
Here's what I don't understand: With the millions upon millions of dollars spent in West Africa on Ebola, why doesn't this man get his treatment center? These centers are the single most important way to prevent the transmission of the disease, since they isolate the infected.

We left Tubmanburg and Logan and his ambulance full of Ebola contacts and headed back to Monrovia. I fell asleep in the car to the sounds of One Direction on my iPhone (I have tween daughters).
Just as the boys were telling me "What Makes You Beautiful," the car came to a stop, and I heard the sounds of male yelling.
LIberian English is beautiful and mellifluous and largely incomprehensible to me, especially when spoken at loud volume with a lot of testosterone and passion behind it. The guard aimed the thermometer at my temple; "36.4," he said, and kept staring at me. I had a moment of anxiety -- why was he staring? I don't use Celsius every day, but I knew that was a normal temperature. I smiled back. After a few beats the guard moved on.

I watched this guy, and he was definately holding back on something when it came to the incubation period and only 4 days lapse before visible symptoms appeared. The patient is in intensive isolation care unit. iicu. That means that in those 4 days before the ravages, anyone he touched could be potential as it spreads from bodily fluids. Did he or she shake hands with people on the plane in introduction? Did they come in and put their clammy hands on the arm rest or oxygen mask during turbulence across the ocean. In the other threads it was pointed out the differences in critical care between different countries. How things are done overseas in West Africa (actually not done - :doh: ... )

I agree the travel issue with screening and lack of it, is a big mistake, but what may work is if one is IN an Ebola country and has to travel, showing proof of No-Infection may be needed. They already require a YELLOW-CARD (I have one for instance) showing one has been innoculated against some of the yucky diseases, like Yellow Fever, before one can be allowed INTO a country...

Every Ebola case brought into the US so far has been CURED and released into the public world.. That sorta creeps me out, the definition of LONG TERM CURE whatever that means.. I don't creep out easily btw..

In another thread (Roisin pointed out some of the data above), the particular method to search out where the person has been, similar to the MERS_nCOV infection with persons coming in from Saudi Arabia for instance, was used, to back track someone from Boston all the way to Georgia, using all sorts of alternate transport beside airflight... (and that person was presenting and active during traveling)... but no mass epidemic that we can determine (except for this very strange D68 virus which sure looks like a modified form of MERS_nCoV effecting the US's kids...) hmmm...

The gig with the EBOLA thing is it is a virus which messes with the immune system, the ability to fight, as does various HIV type of viruses.. mess with the immune system.. prevent the immune system from safely dealing with the infection (safely dealing with means turn on FLOODING from cells to wash the virus out, unsafe flooding results in explosive edemas)...

I still seem to feel the spirtual thing to do is to confront the issue squarely and clearly getting the "charge off" (doing the venting, speak the worry, etc..) then start to see clearly what's happening.. EXACTLY for oneself, not parroting what one has heard somewhere..

The reference was to how with Malaria infections, those with the Sickle Cell Anemia condition are MORE ABLE TO SURVIVE a malaria infection... Those with perfect cells are devastated by Malaria.

My mind was now racing again, ... I thought about the Cabal doctrine of "survival for the fittest" (of the human race).

I think people should refer to the plague years in europe, or even the so called Spanish FLu outbreak, for an idea of what the world might look like during a similar outbreak.
Enough time has passed, i.e. enough generations have come and gone, for a nearly "clean slate", i.e. without the recent memory and practical experience of dealing with an outbreak directly, how will modern humans react?

It seems to me that it does not matter whether we are educated or ignorant, zealous or indifferent; the virus does not care about our feelings and will do what it will do...

It could go away like nothing ever happened, which is what people are hoping for (but not a realistic outcome..),
or it could end up being a small and luckily contained event, which would require a miracle, i.e. a mutation such as occurred at the lab in Baltimore a couple decades ago.

We know that this individual is a male and that he traveled by air from Liberia to Texas on
September 19th. At that time, he was not exhibiting any symptoms. It is being reported
that he started developing symptoms on September 24th and that he sought out treatment
two days later. Incredibly, he was turned away and sent home. Then on September 28th
he went to a hospital again and this time he was admitted for treatment.

That means that he could have potentially been spreading Ebola to others for at least four
full days before finally getting treated at a hospital. Now he is in intensive care at Texas
Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. The CDC says that “there is no doubt that we will
stop it here” and is promising that “it will not spread widely in this country”. The CDC
better be right on both counts.

(CDC) is urging all airlines, both foreign and domestic, to keep a close eye on passengers who might be ill with the
disease. The agency says that all bodily fluids should now be assumed to contain the Ebola virus, and be treated
as such during routine cleanings.

Even if we were to find a cure that's already available in packaging for other ailments .. found in nature I doubt they would make it known worldwide, affordable or even available to the African public. If it were we could have supply and treat everyone at home and not have need to risk infection by going out to clinics. Does anyone here speak African?

For example: there is a natural plant medicine that cures Malaria. What the government people did was have the Africans grow this plant Mugwort or Artemisia vulgaris. Told them if they consumed this plant that they would DIE. Had it shipped out of country for packaging to sell back to them using a weird pharmaceutical name. While using only a little bit of the active healing ingredients per package and charged usually more than the they could afford , of course not mentioning the plant that this medicine came from was the same one that they were growing.

But unfortunately the masses WILL buy into forced vaccinations, quarantines, and round ups -- regardless of the underlying reality (that means on you, Matt), so if you do not participate, as I suspect you won't, just as I won't, we and others like us may just as well be candidates for public lynching. In other words, there ain't going to be an "opt-out" provision just because we understand it's all BS. Some of us will resist by any means necessary, but even if we succeed for a time, either by luck or by wit, we will become the very targets on which to blame for the outbreak itself (be it real or fabricated); with all the power of a frenzied mob, the pent-up anger, fear, sorrow, and HATE will be channelled and focused, like a laser, upon all of us, i.e. upon we subversives bereft of humanity and cooperation with our fellow man, we miscreant scapegoats who will bear the stigma of the spread of the disease.

I do agree with your post. I just don't think there are enough conscious people out there who will refuse to buy into what appears to be the makings of a massive psyops, so to effect any kind of influence on quelling the hysteria. So even if we are somehow able to elude the needle, the round ups, and--worse case scenario--the death camps, we will still be tracked and hunted by a posse of unconscious vigilantes who know not what they do.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 1, 2014 – Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has authorized the deployment of 700 soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division headquarters element to Liberia to help with the Ebola epidemic there, Pentagon Press Secretary Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby said here yesterday.The soldiers will deploy in late October, Kirby told reporters during a briefing, and they will become the headquarter staff for the joint forces command, led by Army Maj. Last week, 15 construction-specialty sailors, or Seabees, from the Naval Mobile Construction Batallion-133, Task Group 68.7 arrived in Monrovia to provide engineering support to Operation United Assistance, conducting site surveys for future hospitals, supply storage and training facilities for health care workers fighting the Ebola outbreak.

The deployments are part of a whole-of-government response to the Ebola outbreak, said Kirby, noting that the U.S. military is contributing its unique capabilities in support of the lead U.S. agency -- the U.S. Agency for International Development -- and other interagency partners.

About 195 Defense Department personnel are now on the ground in West Africa and over the weekend the equipment for a 25-bed hospital for health care workers and two mobile labs arrived in Monrovia.

“We expect the hospital to be operational about the middle of October,” Kirby said, adding that U.S. military personnel are not and will not be providing direct care to Ebola patients.

Force protection

Kirby said all troops deploying to Liberia are being trained on personal protective equipment and about Ebola virus disease.

“Secretary Hagel has no higher priority than force protection,” the admiral said. “The threat down there is the disease … so just like any other threat, we take it very, very seriously and we'll make sure they've got the protection they need.”

Also yesterday, Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, released a statement on the military response to the Ebola outbreak

"Today we have about 150 men and women from the Department of Defense in West Africa responding to the Ebola outbreak. They are the advance elements of our military force that will total roughly 3,000 Americans confronting a health crisis that has significant humanitarian, economic, political and security dimensions,” he said.
