Councils are pursuing poll tax cheats who voted for the first time in two decades in Scotland's independence referendum
‘Councils are pursuing poll tax cheats who voted for the first time in two decades in
Scotland’s independence referendum.
Officials have been ordered to comb the electoral roll to catch non-payers who dropped
off the radar before re-registering ahead of September 18.
Scots still owe more than £300million on the controversial Community Charge,
introduced north of the Border by Margaret Thatcher in 1989 – one year before England.’
