Thank you for bringing this up, with ebola knocking on our door, I was just wondering today, if MMS would be effective with the ebola virus outbreak. I am unable to find any clear statements from Dr. Rima as to what she means by the terms nano, colloidal or ionic silver.

These terms for various forms of silver have become a point of (deliberate, in my view) confusion in the market for silver health products.

Such is a common tactic ... it feels imposing to most of us to have an apparent expert "shout" at us that such and such "blah blah" variant is "good", while the other "bleep bleep" variant is "bad", and can guide us toward favoring "blah blah" labeled variants of a product over "bleep bleep" variants. However this dis-empowers us, if either of (1) we don't actually know the difference or (2) as is more common, the chosen terms are deliberately confused.

Here's a paper that does make sense to me, distinguishing between the terms for the various kinds of silver, and their various effects, in ways that I consider well intentioned, to actually provide the reader with increased understanding: The real facts on colloidal silver (http://silver-lightning.com/theory.html).

If anyone can provide a well based explanation for where Dr. Rima's "nano" silver, in terms such as this paper uses, or other terms well grounded in chemistry, I'd be quite interested.

Aha - I think I've figured out what silver products Dr. Rima is recommending. It's Silver Sol (http://www.silversolutionusa.com/categories/Silver-Sol-10-ppm/) (and various other names, such as SilverBiotics (http://silverbiotics.info/)), manufactured under US Patent 7,135,195 (http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO1&Sect2=HITOFF&d=PALL&p=1&u=/netahtml/PTO/srchnum.htm&r=1&f=G&l=50&s1=7,135,195.PN.&OS=PN/7,135,195&RS=PN/7,135,195) using 10,000 volts of electricity to generate small, "nano-sized" particles of metallic silver (not ionic and not bound in larger molecules) suspended within pure water. It is sold as both a 10 ppm liquid and a gel.

Search on the patent number 7,135,195 shown on the second image below, from Dr. Rima's site, and you will find the Silver Sol product sold, under various similar names.

Notice the similarity between these two images, the first of a variant of the SilverSol product, and the second from Dr. Rima's site of the product she's promoting.

The disparagement of other forms of silver as being colloidial/ionic silver is marketing bunkum. What might be interesting (for those who like to experiment on their own bodies) would be to try the specific protocol mentioned in the The real facts on colloidal silver (http://silver-lightning.com/theory.html) paper, of adding H2O2 to ionic silver before consuming it, in order to convert the silver ions to metallic silver particles. H2O2 is not so much a nutrient as it is one of many occasionally useful simple chemicals, for use by folks such as myself, whose kitchen more closely resembles a chemistry laboratory than a food preparation facility.

The commission is reasonable ... Dr. Rima has done an excellent job of bringing greater awareness to this, and other, important topics. I do object to some of her confused use of technical terms, but then again, I definitely belonged on the engineering side of the companies I worked for, not the marketing side.

There are reports that Dr. Rima had her Chase Merchant Services account closed (see for example my VT issues first Ebola warning -- Post #95 (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?76018-VT-issues-first-Ebola-warning--VeteransToday.com-website-taken-down-a-couple-hours-&p=890120&viewfull=1#post890120)), so this product might not actually be available from Dr. Rima's recommended provider at present.

After reading a whole bunch, I decided our arsenal against any virulent virus, Ebola or otherwise, will be a three pronged approach: nano silver, MMS, and Vitamin C. I spent $160 to buy a six pack of nano from Dr. Rima, deciding that if she is correct, it might save our lives and if she is full of bunk, it is a $160 loss - and measuring the two against each other, it seemed like a no brainer. I bought a ten pack of 100 grams of sodium chlorite, plus citric acid, and bottles of the cheap kind of ascorbic acid - the kind that has two electrons to donate instead of one.

I also learned about evergreens providing 5 times as much vitamin c as an orange, and pine needle tea is now part of my daily routine.

Technically untrue regarding whether the product she's promoting is a colloid (as well as a "hype" style that puts me in a less "receptive" frame of mind.)

So, is the ACS200 the silver we need to have in order to kill ALL pathogen's in a big hurry? I watched the video and it seems to suggest that "nano" and "colloidal" are not necessarily effective enough for antibiotic resistant pathogens.
