Wow! That's right over my home city (Auckland New Zealand - literally across the harbour from where I live) - you can see many of these "spheres" from dusk onward, roughly every 10 minutes!. I counted 13 in the space of just 1 hour. (That's more "UFO Traffic" than you would see conventional aircraft in the same time).

That would have been on the end segment of TV One News; somewhere between 6:45 - 7:00pm (approaching dusk atm), and it is a live picture; they show live panorama cams from all of the major cities while summarising the day's weather for that particular city.
I've observed one particularly bright and low flying "orb" on a few occasions; and just as it reaches the city's perimeter, it just "fades out" - ie turns "invisible" or cloaks.

Its like a portal opens up theres a dark patch then it appears in front of that!
I would have loved it to have been a clear sunny day perhaps we would have witnessed said portal...

When I've observed them at night, you often see a bright flash, then an orb appears (or disappears). Some even flash like a strobe light... you can't see them until they "flash" on. Others seem to pulse on and off quite slowly, as they fade out you can't see a thing until they pulse back ON again. I would literally guarantee anyone can see these things over Auckland skies from dusk onward, and you won't have to wait long, (not implying it's unique to Auckland either; I've seen them all over the country and there are similar reports from Australia and YouTube videos to go if you want to search). ;)

Hi KiwiElf.
Did you made a video by yourself. would be grate to get some first hand input.

We see bright flashes in the sky a lot here. I haven't noticed any UFOs with them but I wasn't sure what it was so I wasn't looking for them. I will look now, thanks. I just want to see if we're talking about the same thing, if that's ok? The ones we see are like the flash you get with lightning, but no bolt and it's silent. More like a camera flash. They vary in brightness, some are a flash in the sky and others are so bright they light up the ground, like it's daylight. Does that sound like what you're talking about? I have seen a couple of orbs, a white one and an amber one but they were quite low, flying just above the trees.

Hi Michael - No unfortunately, I don't have the equipment to video them - I have taken some stills and then blown out the brightness and contrast in Photoshop revealing an enormous white ball or "field" around the object not seen by the naked eye (along with some other weird stuff showing up in the photos). However, there are numerous videos on YouTube depicting exactly what we're seeing, some are done with high-tech night vision cameras.
Innocent Warrior - the flash is just like a camera flash but going off high in the sky. I often wonder if these are explosions? In other words, they don't light up a large area as lightening would; they are a quick, pinpoint flash in the sky.
That aside, I've often had friends or flatties around as witnesses who are gobsmacked when they see these orbs themselves.
For all intensive purposes, they look like moving stars but too bright and fast to be satellites (but not the same as shooting stars), ranging in brightness from being barely visible (the smallest stars - I rate as a 1) to about the same brightness/size to the naked eye as you would observe Venus or Jupiter which I'd rate as about a 5. Occasionally you'll get something bigger (and more interesting :)). Most are white or bluish white, although some are amber to reddish. None that have lit up the ground tho! One did an impressive 90 degree arc and flared up brightly as it turned and another "pulser" was low & slow enough over the house to be a little scary.
Strangely, they can often be seen in daylight moving in and out of thunderstorm clouds (these may be something else). They are most often tracking North or South, or East to West. Sometimes their movements are not smooth but appear to be a little jerky or wobbly.
They look like this: (altho I haven't seen 3 at one time, but often two)

Thank you for your reply. It sounds like I have seen the flashes you are referring to, I will be looking out more closely for orbs when that happens. Most of the time the flashes are a little different, they definitely light up the entire sky most of the time, I'm thinking this is something else, I wonder what it is? I have only seen the two orbs I mentioned, just the one each time. A fun experience :)

When they start doing their little "tricks" (ie something other than flying in a straight line), yeah pretty cool. Many appear to be flying to Ley Lines and/or close to the grid Bruce Cathy and others "rediscovered" - try "sending" to them... (mental telepathy, ie get them to zig zag or fly lower... or come back...) tell us what happens ;) Seriously. You'll laugh your head off when it happens (probably in shock) - I've managed it [a reaction] with some of them and in front of friends... but be careful what you wish for
