A lot to do about the ongoing memorials relating to WW I at the moment. Part ceremonies, part sales, part drama (in the theatre) and so on.
Now people are speaking up. Isn't all this getting a bit too commercial now? I hear they are already preparing for Waterloo memorials and shows for next year. Every time you turn on the radio, all the old wars are being mixed with the new wars now. As if it wasn't already heavy enough on our ears (and eyes, for those who watch TV).
To the people who contributed honourably to our history, their due respect, but not by selling tickets for shows and stickers and other world war gadgets.
Please don't go to these events and don't participate in the money making machine. Our ancestors would be very proud of us if we managed to do just this.
