A convey of Russian ships have steamed to the north of Australia. Fully armed, the convoy is just outside Australian waters, south of New Guinea.

Australia's Prime Minister Tony Abbot recently used provocative language to reporters claiming he would "shirtfront" Vladimir Putin at the G20 being held at Brisbane this month. Shirtfront is an Australian football term which involves a certain level of violence. The shirtfronting was due to the lack of cooperation by Russia over the MH17 attack where over 30 Australians were killed.
Well I guess Abbott got his reply. Even though I know this is all bravado, the placement of Russian warships at the north hits the Australian psyche at a particularly vulnerable level. Abbott must be regretful and furious.

I recommend reading the comments section of the linked article. It's hilarious. Most Aussies don't seem too fazed. Warning; language in comments might be peculiarly Aussie leaving other English readers confused.

Nice one Abbott...real nice.
Too bad democracy is a farce, we could get Abbott to offer Putin a few rounds in the ring, duke it out and make money while we're at it...cover some of the costs of the G20.

Oh, and Obama, NO we will not demolish a roundabout, just to save you time...golf will have to wait.

It's probably an indirect threat.
"Try and touch me Abbott, and we'll blow you to kingdom come!"
I for one - fully support Putin if he'd like to teach Abbott some manners. I think the rest of Australia will also back this.
P.S if you are in Brisbane - please avoid the city like the plague this weekend.
No better way to protest than to have the place a ghost town. So far - so good. If you don't count the 6-8 cop's sitting on every corner of every street.

I saw this hilarious pic today. Abbot has his big serious game face on and driving his point home and Putin has his 'who is this pipsqueak anyway' face on.

Yeah, Putin appears to be wondering if this guy is serious. Putting up with this chest thumper for the sake of humouring him. Obviously of no consequence at all. Abbott's a moron.

Hmm... "lack of coop"... did i miss sth?
Or is this speaking purely based on msm/ nato propaganda?
It wasn't even downed over their territory.
Plus, all questions about it are still officially unanswered [msm-wise].
Here's an article on topic: australian prime minister demands apology from russia on mh17 (http://www.globalresearch.ca/australian-prime-minister-demands-apology-from-russia-on-mh17/5413645)
He'd better 'shirtfront' his mirror image.

Oh, it's the Australian governments view that Russian seperatists, supported by the Russians, used a Russian anti aircraft weapon brought into Ukraine from Russia before the shooting and returned to Russia after the shooting leaves Russia liable for developing access to the site by investigators.
As far as the truth goes?

Putin looks like he's trying real hard, not to bust out laughing in this fool's face.
Putin: "Oh really? Do you know I have a bathroom, bigger than your country?"

He told them that the future could not allow those who are perpetrating war, and blaming it on Russia, to go unpunished. I believe he means to have justice for the slander to war that has Russia under sanctions. I believe he will kick some Aussie leadership arse, to prove Russia is innocent, and if the Chinese have discovered through evidence like Charlie Chan Clan that those responsible are holding positions in those countries, I believe he will demand extradition.

Hi KaiLee and all,
I am sitting here shaking my head in amazement that this Man (?) is representing our country on the global stage...sigh...he only personifies everything that we DO NOT stand for.
I am a proud Australian but when it comes to the likes of people like him, then, well Im left speechless (not really but the words I want to say, would get me banned..lol)
Was he trying to be like his predecessor John Howard who could at least put 2 words of sense together? If so then he was/IS a FAIL!
Why did the PTB behind the Australian political scene put him into the top position? Oh I have a fair idea on why, but still am asking, as Im sure most Aussies are.
Then to accuse another country on the basis of hyped up reports from the intel community...as you so elquontely explained KaiLee:
Oh, it's the Australian governments view that Russian seperatists, supported by the Russians, used a Russian anti aircraft weapon brought into Ukraine from Russia before the shooting and returned to Russia after the shooting leaves Russia liable for developing access to the site by investigators.
As far as the truth goes?
....makes me sigh at his lack of diplomatic ways.
Re Abbott being regretful and furious:
I doubt it, though Im sure he got told off by PTB/his puppet master(s) and was put into the naughty spot for a long looong time after making that statement.

Hi everyone,
I don't like Tony "Rabbott" either as our leader.
But I should point out that a convoy of Russian ships is no real threat to Australia. Our special forces could obliterate them in minutes if any threat was posed and they would not have time to respond. Australia has a lot of surprises for any aggressor who would violate its shores or skies, technology that is well outside the public domain and which is not passed on to the political leaders thank goodness. If they knew they would not be wasting money by ordering 52 Strike Fighters.

What a difference a week makes last week he's guest of honor at APEC and think of the balls to show up at their party all the while being accused of the crap their doing and trying to pin on him. Asad should have gone with him.
