They have been, already. They just have been doing it behind the scenes. But I believe once it's possible and pheasable and wont turn into a circus of the media exploiting their attempts to help as alien invasion then they will become more visible to the general population. The main stream media is still to heavily controlled by the wrong people. It's no more safe for the general population than it is for the ET right now. Not to mention, it's not their mess to clean up. Sure they will assist and guide and mentor, but the people them selves have to do the majority of the work.
