View Full Version : Obamacare: How Screwed Are You?

ObamaCare was never about healthcare, the poor, insurance, or anything else.

It’s about controlling the populace, paying off cronies, donors, supporters and expanding the size and authority of the central government.

You think they cared that no one could get on the website and actually sign up for ObamaCare before the 2012 election?

Pa-lease..

But since then, millions of Kool-aid drinking Americans figured out what a scam they’d been sold and the 2014 result was a resulting nightmare for Democrats and Barack Obama.

Stay with me:

So far, nearly 12,000,000 words – that’s 12 meeellion (pinky to mouth) words have been written, published and are being implemented into the final ObamaCare regulations.

If that sounds like a lot, consider that the monstrous original Affordable Care Act was a paltry 380,000 words or so before it was bribed, cajoled, conned and finally hoaxed legislatively down our throats.

That means unelected bureaucrats, various lobbyists, corporate interests, union pinheads and other cronies looking to cash-in on the slush or get in on the massive cottage industry being paid billions to explain it all to businesses, hospitals, doctors, caregivers and average citizens who never asked for it in the first place – have themselves created a behemoth thirty times bigger than the original bill..

In other words, even if anyone did know what was in it, it’s now something completely different.

This is a blatant case of the Federal government taking over a huge portion of the private market with absolutely no regard to the separation of powers, oversight or any say so by the American people through their elected representatives.

This law is now something foisted upon citizens without their consent, their approval, their input, their knowledge or their Constitutional rights. This is an act of despotism which will affect the entire nation far beyond what we are witnessing right now.

Some background:

Since the ACA was deemed to have passed Congress, rewritten and declared a tax by Justice Roberts, altered, parsed and carved up by Presidential fiat, had its many exemptions and waivers issued to the fortunate and filibustered against its funding; dozens of minions in various administration agencies have also cranked out over 100 final regulations on how this fraud will be implemented.

That’s the long way of saying you’re about to be subjugated. Think I’m paranoid?

Okay, riddle me this:

Since when does enforcement of a law require thirty times more words and regulations than the law itself?

The answer is when enforcement is the entire point of the law.

This is not about healthcare, insurance, the poor or anything else. It’s about controlling you.

For a hundred years, socialists have been trying to get at your healthcare in order to get at you. Google it, pal. Marx, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Alinsky, Chavez, Wilson, FDR, Ted Kennedy, Hillary and when they saw a wrinkle in time where they had super-majorities they knew they would lose quickly, they struck.

Imagine the thrill of actually forcing socialist medicine upon the free and Capitalist-loving people of America? It must have been a dream come true.

And when they exempted themselves, their friends and benefactors I bet they had a good laugh.

The traitors who cast those votes against their own better judgement because they had been bribed, bullied or just swept up in their Party loyalty will not do well in the gulags when average Americans realize who they are..

Make no mistake – this is a massive money-grab – trillions of dollars will flow out of what was once the private sector into federal government coffers and it’s cronies, donors and supporter’s pockets.

Federal workers, consultants and insiders are setting up high-dollar firms which will extract billions from big business, guiding them through the complexities of these millions of words of purposeful confusion.

But most importantly, the Administration will have you by the short hairs. They’ll have your medical history and the ability to share it or exploit it when it suits them.

They can approve or deny you and your family of what you need in the most critical department – your well-being. Winners and losers will be so much easier to pick now that behavior can be linked directly to government administered health benefits. I haven’t even gotten to the evil part yet:

We’ve seen first hand this administration’s willingness to oppress a private citizen’s civil rights based on their political beliefs. Do you really think it’s not going to happen with ObamaCare?

If you believe suddenly this government will start playing by the rules you are naive to the point of stupidity, friendo. There will be rationing; there will be bureaucrats ruling on who gets what and why and when.

And there will be discretion based on politics. Lois Lerner will seem like a choir boy when this hits full stride. You’ll long for the days when all that ever happened was the NSA gathered your Facebook postings and Google searches, or you were audited because you were Herman Cain’s speech writer.

Did I say that out loud?

Need a heart transplant? Well, guess what? There’s only one heart available and someone else needs that heart too! Someone who didn’t download that news story critical of the administration? Someone who didn’t email the president of the local Tea Party chapter and ask how the rally was shaping up? Someone who donated to the correct causes? Someone in a union, who has a cousin in DC, who volunteered at an environmental event, who is a left-winger and you’re not? Well, guess what palpitation-breath? Sayonara!

Think I’m nuts? I would have too five years ago, but I’ve seen too much firsthand to think for a minute this bunch won’t do or say anything for power. Total control.

When they can sit in secret with who knows who and write millions of words of regulations that are automatically law and implemented into the lives of only the people they choose and not those they don’t, it’s tyranny, folks.

Where are the separation of powers? Where are the Republicans holding hearings into these Unconstitutional activities? When do the impeachment proceedings begin?

You’re screwed. Sorry.

Your pal, Rodney Lee Conover

Obamacare Faces Supreme Court in 2015

A challenge to President Obama’s health care law will dominate the US Supreme Court’s term that resumes in 2015. But it could be overshadowed by the question of same-sex marriage if the justices decide to take up that hot-button issue — and act in time. A 5-4 ruling by the court in 2012 saved Obamacare from a constitutional challenge to the law’s broad reach. Now it faces another critical test, this time involving the meaning of the actual words in the law.

Yes, the few people who got covered by this travesty of obamacare will be happy, that is until they actually try to get treatment and the lines keep getting longer and longer. Canada has experienced this same scenario long before we have, which is why so many Canadians would come down to the US to get treated..... and it really hasn't even begun here. I would guess that giving up your freedom to get insured ( obamacare is insurance NOT healthcare) will probably not seem so great when you realize how much of your life they will now control, or try to control.

My gut tells me the horrors will outweighs the triumphs, as you will find heartbreakers now all over the net, as you cant keep your doctor the fees will rise and those who passed it are exempt from it and if that doesn't speak volumes nothing does, as the law was created to control us more than to treat us.

Desire, you sound just like my father. He is able to get basically free medical care after he had ruined his health and had too many pre existing conditions to get decent insurance anymore and, because of this, loves Obama... and this has blinded him to all of Obama's crimes and to the fact that the entire act is criminal and terrible for the country as a whole. Because it benefits him, he doesn't care how it screws everyone else and the country. I understand your husband and my father are happy with this but we must be able to look past our own selfish interests sometimes. A corrupt system cannot be fixed with more corruption.

I was checking out Obamacare for my bother-in-law age 62. His only source of income is from a small inheritance from his Dad. He was hoping it would last until age 66 when he could get Social Security. He's smoked since he was 12 and can hardly breath. The cost for him would be $440 a month with a $6600 yearly deductible. He would have to pay co-payments every time he received a medical service.

They said he couldn't get a subsidy because he had too much in savings. He could have a tax credit which would be useful except he has no taxable income.

He has a choice between poverty or poverty.

I needed back surgery for years with workers comp claim filed, denial after denial and couldn't tolerate it any longer I had to opt for the social care, but to get it I had to cash in my retirement from a federal job and once that was gone I was to become eligible. Well I did just that, got my surgery and 2, 3 months after that my WC claim was approved. I thank Barry for stealing my retirement and putting me on the dole.

Obama care well I read its not fully in yet any companies that pay for health care for there workers this is a tax benefit for the worker this saves worker money however government see this as a taxable income .

This means that health bills will double for every worker. The companies paying the bill for workers watch out because health care cost will double with cover going down . Government US will gets hundreds millions extra when is it coming I hear right after Obama leaves office.

I took the situation presented by Obamacare as an opportunity. I've been tending to my own medical and health needs for,... about 8 years now (give or take), so 'not seeing someone' isn't exactly new so,....

I declared myself tax exempt, and when the piper comes a-callin I'll be happy to explain that I will not be forced to contract. ^_^

People aren't tied to horrible jobs just for the insurance benefits anymore. I worked a dead end job at 7-11 for a long time, because it offered health insurance that I couldn't get at better jobs. What's wrong with that picture? The court couldn't be bothered with enforcing the child support order, because my ex-husband lived out of state. My daughter had chronic labarynthitis, which left her too dizzy and nauseated to function. Local doctors weren't taking Medicaid, which I made too much to qualify for anyway. What was wrong with that picture?

Well I don't know how screwed others are (or will soon be), but I can talk about my personal experience and perspective.

As the OP stated, Obamacare was never really about Healthcare for millions of Americans. That was simply the carrot they dangled to get the masses to bite. It was always about more power and control and, IMHO, to hasten the demise of this government so Agenda 21 can be realized—but I digress. I know this is an emotional issue for many so I will try to stick to just the facts as they pertained to my experiences.

About twenty years ago I was discussing the merits of an article (or news story) a friend brought to my attention. The gist of the article was that the health insurance industry was moving (or attempting to move) away from a full coverage insurance model to a catastrophic coverage only model. My friend thought this was great because he believed the article's rationale that this would greatly reduce the cost of health insurance for everyone. I believe my statement to him was something like, “I want some of what you've been smoking if you seriously believe that.” We agreed to disagree about the merits of this wonderful new direction for health insurance.

Shortly after that time (mid to late 90s) I began to notice that the medical insurance industry was enjoying double digit increases (10-12% or more) year after year while the vast majority of other industries were chocking up 2-4% increases, if any. Naturally, companies would pass along most of these increases to their employees.

In 2013 I decided to retire. Because my wife and I had had some expensive medical issues prior to this, and because Obamacare was about to require medical insurance, I started looking for a healthcare plan for us. I quickly learned just how absurd medical insurance costs and coverage (or, should I say, lack thereof) had become if one had to purchase insurance on their own (i.e., without the employer contribution).

To obtain an insurance policy for just my wife and myself with 80% coverage and a $5000 deductible, that still wasn't as good as what I had while working, it would cost us over $1800 per month. One insurance agent unwittingly informed us that the health insurance industry did a study and found that the majority of Americans (I believe it was in the 75-85% range) wouldn't spend more than $5000 a year for medical expenses. I found it interesting that most of the policies he was trying to sell us had a $5000 (to $12000) per year deductible. That's right, for a measly $1800+ a month, we could get to pay for all of our medical expenses before the policy began to pay for most anything.

I decided that I'd be damned if I was going to give the insurance pirates that kind of money out of my retirement funds so I went back to work. The contracting firm I'm with had two policies from which to choose so I got the better policy with a $1000 deductible and 80% coverage. Even at that, our current medical policy costs $830 a month for just the two of us. But the really good news is that my company is dropping their present insurance provider and going with a provider that won't increase my 2014 contribution level. The only small drawback is that it pays for even less than my current policy and has, you guessed it, a $5000 deductible. Isn't that special? Are any of you beginning to see a pattern here?

So for grins I decided to checkout the Obamacare website and I found that the costs for a comparable policy to those the independent salesman was selling were very close to the same cost. Yes, I could find a policy for around $900-$1000 per month, but it was as bad or worse than the one we will be getting from my company in 2015.

As far as I can tell, the only ones who benefit from Obamacare are the insurance industry, the politicians who gave them everything they've wanted over the years, and the poor. If you're middle class, you're going to get just as screwed by Obamacare as you would going out and buying a policy from an independent agent.

The wealthy and those who were able to salt away a couple of million in retirement will be able to survive ok. The rest of us are going to have to give up everything we've worked for to be eligible for whatever crumbs they hand out before the final collapse of this system that is totally unsustainable—and when that happens, all bets are off for anyone's survival.

I, for one, can't wait to start paying the exponential fee each year at tax time for not being insured! How thrilling! Paying the government each year just because I choose to trust in myself, or else I'll be in debt/prison. By paying, meaning that now every year I'll owe the IRS money (exponentially, as in the no-health-plan-fee rises each year) and I'll never get a tax refund again. It's all good, though! Their weirdly structured, imposing world doesn't both me much.

To me, as a human being, here and now, this all sounds absolutely ridiculous. It's fun to be around for.

I joined Liberty Health Share (not insurance) and dropped my insurance policy. I'm self-employed. I had been paying $389.00/month for insurance. Under Obamacare my insurance cost would have raised to $600.00/month plus. No way can I afford to pay 13-14% of my income for insurance.

Liberty Health Share is costing me $199.00/month. Now, I am considered a self pay individual when obtaining health care services. I pay an extra $10.00/month fee for third party negotiation of discounts on medical and drugs. (Some other health shares require the individual to negotiate their own discounts). My health care expenses after discount negotiation are submitted to a pool and payed by other member contributions.

Insurance companies are collecting 25-30% of insurance premiums for administrative expenses. Liberty Health Share administrative expenses are about 13%. The monthly fee is adjusted annually and last year it actually went down $10.00/month.

There are some downsides to belonging to a health share plan. Some people with pre-existing conditions will be denied access to them but, that restriction may lessen over time if more people sign up, (greater pool, greater ability to pay for chronic conditions).

One of the benefits-exemption from tax fines. As far as tax deduction goes, none for health insurance costs. However, the monthly fee can be deducted as a contribution expense.

I encourage anyone that can do it to opt out of Obamacare.

CatThis is a bill (OB care) that will end the middle class as we know it. We can see from the personal stories its for real the horror stories have begun. It needs to be talked about and shared with everyone and we need to find a way to come together and stop it. One way would be to cut the military spending. 2012 700 billion spent on wars, when just 10% of that would provide the social services for years to come. This is a globalist plan that's part of a bigger scheme to bring the country to its knees and most likely end the republic. This freedom experiment is about over and we are letting it happen. We are so dumbed down through media lies and political deception and everything in between. It really is a tough sell to awaken anyone not being affected, but I think Obama care may be the straw that breaks the camels back.

Its the same way they sold us the "New Deal" 70 years ago. Roosevelt promised there would be a chicken in every pot, that you would have a retirement account and that when you were out of work, you could still draw wages. There were jobs finally, but only for those who would go down and register under the Social Security Act. So, if you wanted to feed your families like your peers were, you went down and got one.

And, what does all this do? It confiscated all of the resources of the country, hypoticated and pledged all your labor in perpetuity to the banksters, and indentured you to hundreds of thousands of rules, regulations, statutes, and requirements enforced by your very own peers.

So, the only reason we need all of this government protection, also known as "benefits and privileges" is because we were no longer able to retain and hold our own wealth. The global banksters get it all. I know the upper middle class still thinks that they hold wealth, but the rest of us don't. Until the upper middle class of the baby boomers pass into the night, and the generation of the new deal passes away, I don't think consciousness will shift enough to where we will see a mass awakening.

I don't have enough information to know if the 20 and 30 somethings get it.

The last two months is the first time I’ve been without health insurance. I received notice that my policy would go up from $307 to $915. It’s a $5000 deductible policy that I’ve not used, not even the “free” health maintenance check up for the last 4 years.

I called the agent to see if it was a clerical error or did my policy just triple. I explained that I wasn’t going to renew it. The agent went into sales mode of how it's paid up until January and said she could connect me to someone to negotiate a better price. She slipped in the importance of coverage in case of sickness or accidents. That’s when I told her to cancel my policy effective immediately. Then one last attempt from her about the risk of a gap in health insurance served to reinforce my resolve.

The company did me a favor. I went through ehealthinsurance.com and found a short term policy that averages out to $159 a month with the same $5000 deductible. I’ll qualify for medicare in July.

I kind of agree with everyone here. I can qualify for free health care now, and I might go apply just so I can get some ex-rays of my right hand, which I injured a few years ago. It hurts most of the time and I'm losing my grip, literally. But, as soon as I do that I am going to drop it and go back to what I have been doing for most of my life. I take full responsibility for my own health and whatever I do to support my health, as well as things I do that I know do not support good health.

My teeth, and particularly the bones that support them, are in serious condition, and have been for years. I did spend a ton of my own hard earned cash on treatments over the years, only to find out that some of those treatments actually hastened the process. I would have taken a different route had I to do it all over again. And it would not have been to follow the recommended mainstream treatments that are done as standard procedure. And I probably would not have this problem now.

I'm not saying anyone else should follow this path, and even though I might benefit from this new program, I do not over all think it is really going to benefit very many. More people are uninsured now than ever before. The exact opposite of what it was supposed to do. And it's always bothered me that people who absolutely take no responsibility for trying to live a healthy life style (and I realize this is no guarantee of good health), pay the same as those who have spent a lifetime trying to research, pay attention to what they eat, staying active etc. So, a person who has sat in front of the tv all their life, eating take out and junk food, maybe smoking cigarettes like a chimney, and drinking too, pays the same as someone who has done the opposite.

In the end, I think they are at least trying to screw us all.

Thanks for the information, Desire.

My goal is not to be a part of the Obamacare control system. Though in all likelihood medicare will become a part of it. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

I was part of Blue Cross Blue Shield for about 37 years. When I left my profession the premiums increased to over $600 a month. And that's with switching to their health savings account and a high deductible to keep the premiums down.

Aside from yearly check-ups and eye appointments, I’ve had no claims for the last 20+ years. They were stupid to raise my rates because it spurred me into action three times in the last seven years.

Health shouldn't be part of capitalism IMHO. It is about profits not maintaining health or curing people. The government is wholly corrupt so the optimal model is of no use. The optimal model in my view is public funding is what sources cures and healthcare. But the government can't be trusted with coming up with pure ideas. It's all corrupted corporate nonsense. The state of America is saddening to me. It is all by design...

So far as I can tell, Medicare actually works to our (those of us Americans over 65) advantage in this instance.

The free part of Medicare, so called Part A, which covers hospitalization, apparently suffices for the required obummercare coverage. You don't even need to sign up for the $104.90 per month Medicare Part B (the doctors, including those who provide you with services you didn't know you needed while in the hospital) in order to get a free "get out of obummercare" card. You basically pay nothing, not even an obummercare penalty, and get some portion of your hospital bill covered.

A big thanks, Paul. This sets my mind at ease. I researched it a few years back and though it was free for minimum coverage. Recently I took up the search again only skimming the information. I misunderstood it to be $104.90 per month for Medicare Part A.

Medicate Part A, Hospital, is free (if you're over 65 American and paid into Social Security for 10 years)

Medicare Part B (Doctors, Lab Work, Ambulances, ...) , is $104.90 per month (2014 and 2015 price)

Medicare Part D, Drugs ... I've no clue.
