UN Security Council rejects Palestinian statehood resolution

The UN Security Council rejected on Tuesday a Palestinian resolution calling for peace with Israel within a year and an end to the "Israeli occupation" of Palestinian territories by late 2017.

The resolution failed to achieve the 9-votes majority required to pass. Eight countries voted in favor of the motion - China, France, Russia, Argentina, Chad, Chile, Jordan, Luxembourg - two opposed - US and Australia - and five abstained - UK, Lithuania, Nigeria, Korea, Rwanda.

What kind of system allows 2 opposing votes and 5 abstentions to trump 8 votes in favour?

In which country do you live and were you even aware of what was happening? As an African, I know that Nigeria and Rwanda were strong armed because they want the money so they can easily be bribed and thus abstained as a compromise (with disgusting justification speeches).

Since the USA has a veto vote, the entire debate and vote was meaningless other than a revelation of the true colours of the countries who had the privilege to vote on this issue.

Welcome to the revealing of power and control in our world (and the morals underpinning such power and control)!

An earlier video, before the vote, explaining why the Security Council voted now, when it was expected to fail, rather than early next year, when the new mix of nations on the Security Council would have been expected to pass it (forcing a US veto):

Welcome to the revealing of power and control in our world (and the morals underpinning such power and control)! As you mentioned, ANY vote in the security council can be vetoed by the mighty (sociopathic) USA. The UN - even if all UN representatives were benevolent - would still be a sham as long as the USA has the power to veto. It's like giving the most mentally disturbed, neurotic, armed and dangerous bully in the classroom control over the class.

The U.S. never fails to disgust rationality. Perhaps if the Palestinians had more cash than AIPAC...

Maybe we should follow the money on both sides of the ocean.
See who is profiting most from these areas staying unrestful.

It's pretty strange that w/ the present administration, people who allegedly sympathized w/ Palestine, that this would happen.

Sounds like a very elaborate double cross even to shame what happened around the time of the British Mandate/Palestine

@@

Britain had promised lots of things to the Israelis and also to the Palestinians, then broke promises to each of them..

!!

sounds like history is coming full circle

I was feeling despondent about the cabal always triumphing and maintaining control (I do believe that global organisations such as the UN, AGENDA 21 and so on were created with a lot of good intentions, and since I was involved with editing the work of many who created the original AGENDA 21, I do know so from personal experience, but all these organisations have been hijacked).

Thank you so much for responding to this thread. As we approach the start of a new year (just over 2 hours' away for me), I remind myself that there is a small community of people here who are open to challenging the many limitations of being human (from biological to sociological to political to economical to interventions, and so on), to be open to assimilating forbidden information, to challenge widely held beliefs, and to join the fight over and over again to fight this ruling cabal (probably one of many) even when crushed by defeat and threatened and silenced over and over again.

Happy New Year everyone!

DID 'JANE DOE #3' ALSO SLEEP WITH AN EX-ISRAEL PRIME MINISTER?

As well as explosive allegations about Prince Andrew, ‘Jane Doe #3’ told the court she was ‘trafficked for sexual purposes’ to a string of other powerful men – including ‘a well-known Prime Minister’.

No clue was given to the identity, but the court documents say Epstein’s ‘lending’ of young girls to prominent international figures – foreign presidents and US politicians and businessmen among them – was to ‘ingratiate’ himself and ‘so that he could potentially blackmail them’.

From his 97-page ‘black book’ of phone numbers and email addresses, it is clear Epstein had an impressive array of contacts.

When its contents were disclosed three years ago, the book was shown to include contact details for former US President Bill Clinton, ex-secretary of state Henry Kissinger, and Barbara Walters, then one of America’s most influential broadcasters.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s details are there, along with entrepreneur Donald Trump, members of the Kennedy family and former prime minister Tony Blair. There is also an entry for Mr Blair’s former spin doctor Alastair Campbell – but with a Downing Street number, not his personal mobile phone.

Formula One’s Bernie Ecclestone, Eddie Irvine, Jacques Villeneuve and Flavio Briatore are listed – by numbers relating to their ‘boat/plane’.

It has previously been reported that at varying times President Clinton, Prince Andrew, ((former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak)), New Mexico’s ex-governor Bill Richardson and the former US treasury secretary Larry Summers had all been passengers on Epstein’s fleet of private jets.

However, there is no suggestion from Jane Doe #3 that she was involved with any of the people named above.

In reference to the services offered by Epstein, court papers suggest, there are entries for masseuses including one for ‘Sonya (speak little English)’ and ‘Tanya (speaks NO English’).

UN chief accepts Palestinian ICC membership: spokesperson

NITED NATIONS, United States (AFP) - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has accepted the request by the state of Palestine to join the International Criminal Court, UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said Wednesday.

The move will allow the ICC to open cases as of April 1 on serious crimes committed in the Palestinian territories.

Palestine to join International Criminal Court in April: UN chief

The UN has accepted a bid by the state of Palestine to join the International Criminal Court. This will allow the court to open up cases on crimes committed in the Palestinian territories as of April 1.

A request by the state of Palestine to join the International Criminal Court (ICC) has been accepted by the United Nations, UN spokesman Stephanie Dujarric said on Wednesday.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon had been quoted by the Associated Press and DPA news agencies late Tuesday as saying that the the authority would join the International Criminal Court on April 1.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas signed documents applying to join the ICC in late December following a failed bid at the United Nations Security Council to set a timeline for setting up a Palestinian state on lands occupied by Israel.

The long-signaled move, part of a broader Palestinian strategy to achieve statehood, has been condemned by both Israel and the United States as an obstacle to reaching a permanent peace agreement.

The ICC was established to prosecute individuals who perpetrate war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.

While joining the court would give Palestinians the ability to pursue war crimes charges against Israelis, an ICC investigation could also possibly lead to war crimes charges against Palestinians.
