So, Harry Reid was exercising at home, and apparently his exercise equipment failed and he sustained injuries to his face and torso sufficient enough to hospitalize him.

"A piece of equipment Senator Reid was using to exercise broke, causing him to fall and break a number of ribs and bones in his face," according to the statement. "Senator Reid will return to Washington this weekend and be in the office Tuesday as the Senate prepares to reconvene."

So, ya'll need to be aware of the dangers of exercise equipment which can punch you in the face and ribs. Or is someone trying to send poor Harry a message?

Read carefully, you will see all the necessary backdrop of connections for this to be a beating, not an accident:

I just heard this report in the car playing on public radio. Even though he's 75 years old, I don't think that Harry is frail enough to sustain these type of injuries from failing exercise equipment either.

I take care of a huge fitness club. I will not go on the fitness floor now if this is what happens.

Whoever did this to him is not going to be won over by unconditional Love! If that were the answer, countries would not need a defense budget.

Never heard of him and disagree heartily with his views*, but surely, by achieving what he has from the poverty he started with he has to embody the American Dream. Plus he's still (supposedly) exercising at 75!!! What a guy!!

I don't know enough about him to guess who beat him up. The white hats/dark hats? Is it that simple?

Reid's incident sorta reminds me of the "hockey incident" that happen to John Kerry around New Years of 2012. Here is a report of it from the Washington Post.

John Kerry’s black eyes, broken nose at White House (photo) — updated with more gory details

http://www.washingtonpost.com/rf/image_606w/2010-2019/WashingtonPost/2012/01/24/Style/Images/Obama_Bruins_Hockey_0ac76--452x455.jpg?uuid=6xHjkEawEeGV6tPXuqbevg

The Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins were upstaged during their White House visit Monday by an ice-hockey amateur who looked almost as rugged: Sen. John Kerry.

The Massachusetts Democrat, 68, was sporting two black eyes and a broken nose — the result, his office said, of a recent pick-up hockey game with family and friends. (Updated 1/26: See earlier photo of John Kerry’s face injury)

Who — or what — hit him? Aides were vague on details; no word on where the game took place, if he sought treatment or how he got whacked. Kerry’s been banged up before on the ice: He attributed his ‘09 hip surgery and ‘05 knee surgery to the rigors of hockey and other sports; before he entered Congress he had jaw surgery for a bad bite exacerbated by a run-in with a goal post (though some cynics noted it coincidentally made him more handsome).

Update 4:20 p.m.: No stick, puck or fist is to blame for the senator’s shiners: We’ve learned that the injury happened when he fell amid a multi-player pile-up during an annual game with friends around New Year’s. It required a couple stitches, and he’ll be back on the ice this winter — but probably with a mask from now on.

Another nose out of joint: Bruins goalie Tim Thomas, who skipped the ceremony to protest the “out of control” growth of government, he explained on Facebook, “threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People.”

you are exactly correct , they will get back what they have given out , no escaping it , one can be forgiven but still must reap what has been sown ...

Anything, anyone, or any group that has to lay beatings on the people they try to control, is simply NOT in any way -even remotely- All powerful.

The logic of that, as a point, is absolute and unassailable.

A very important thing to understand. Critical, in fact.

In the moment of the beating, or the murder, or the killing, it shows the true depth of it's weakness and weakness of position.
