I present this article not to instill fear, but to promote awareness of the subject.

With the so-called "2012 Doomsday Event" (Planet X, Nibiru, The Dark Star, etc) just a little over two years away, it is my suspicion that this will be the elites next step in their agenda to create world fear and panic. Although asteroid and comet impacts are a very real threat to the planet that each of us should prepare for, just like all other natural disasters, it is my hope that bringing this to the table now (beating them to the punch, so to speak) for intelligent discussions and education may help to alleviate the effects of any planned False Flags. Who knows . . . maybe we can even 'Throw A Wrench' into Their Preplanned Timeline! - H.H.

Asteroid Impact Warning To The World

Experts are calling on the world to recognise the "global threat" of an asteroid hit to earth.

Scientists and astronauts have been holding a three-day workshop in Germany, discussing how countries would react.

Rusty Schweickart is a former Apollo 9 astronaut and now head of the European Sapce Agency's committee on near-earth objects (NEOs): " What we need to do is bring the world together, recognise that this is a global threat. This is not Germany or the United States or ESA or anybody else. This is a global threat."

The conference in the city of Darmstadt is considering theoretical but plausible scenarios of an asteroid impact on our planet.

"The question often arises in the general public: Can we in fact do something about this. And the answer is yes. We don't even have to develop new technologies. Our existing space technology enables us to actually slightly change the orbit of an asteroid that we see headed an impact 15 or 20 or 50 years ahead of us."

The workshop's finding will later be merged with findings of other experts to create a final report to the UN committee. The report will recommend how to react to an impact threat.

Save earth from asteroids: ex-astronauts

Countries around the world must team up to help prevent an asteroid, or giant speeding rock, from slamming into earth, scientists and former astronauts say.

NASA has tracked nearly 7000 near-earth objects that are bigger than several metres across. Of those, 1111 are considered "potentially hazardous asteroids".

"We can't escape the conclusion that one could happen tomorrow," former NASA astronaut Thomas D Jones said of a possible asteroid strike.

"If it happens in the wrong place, it can be deadly. But we now have the technology to prevent them from happening."

He spoke at the European Space Agency's operational centre in Darmstadt, Germany, where former NASA astronauts and scientists from space agencies across the globe pushed for international space agencies to band together to address the issue from within the UN.

Jones and his colleagues proposed that a group involving the world's space agencies be established to pool resources to prevent such an asteroid's impact and to better inform the public of the possible threat.

Russell Schweickart, a former Apollo 9 astronaut, compared the asteroid threat to that of space debris hitting the International Space Station, which he said is "small enough that we can move it out of the way".

The technology exists that would effectively allow scientists to send a craft into space to rear-end an asteroid, and slightly change its velocity.

"We can't move the earth, (so) we have to go up and change the orbit of the asteroid," Schweickart said.

"It's the same problem, all relative motion, but it's a massive undertaking."

So far, NASA is the only space agency that spends any substantial funds on asteroid research, $US4 million ($A4.1 million) a year, but follow-up research also is conducted by other space agencies. Any attempt to intercept an asteroid would require the approval of many nations.

"It threatens all parts of the planet, so the solution involves crossing international borders," Jones said.

You can always bet that scientist will ask for more money to study , and promise results in 20-30 years. If you build that costly and giant gizmo they need. Yawn :)
