Embrace the darkness no less than the light lest the darkness work through you.

How beautifully concise, and far more succinct than I would render! One should not fear, neglect, nor favor their shadow, they would do well to apply equal consideration to all aspects!

However, this type of thinking does not sit well with those who are wont to engage in self-delusion. ^_~

The Darkness and the Light are but two garments in One closet. We have a choice here, a purpose, a power. God, that undefinable order of Being, has no hands on this earth but our own.

Chop those garments in half and apply accordingly.....

“We can't fight darkness with darkness. We have to find compassion, and embrace the darkness inside of us in order to understand it and, ultimately, to transcend it.”

View the darkness and the light, but shine the light into the darkness. Do not fear entering into either. Although they are opposite ends of the "reality" in which we live, they operate differently. You cannot shine darkness into the light. Yet even a little light will dispel the darkness.

Do not fear darkness. You have a guardian angel. Talk with him and learn his name.

Once upon a time there was a man who lived on a remote island with his family.
The island provided absolutely everything that the family needed to survive.

In daylight they would sunbathe together unclothed while fishing in the ocean, and at night the warm light of the fire kept them comfortable.
They had no concept of good or evil, light or darkness, other than the pure enjoyment of the cycle of life.

Their names were written in the stars and in the leaves of trees and the grains of sand.
The waves laughed back and carried them news of distant places.
Sometimes Visitors would arrive, and tell wonderful stories around the fire late at night.
Stories about other worlds and other people with different ways of life.

Then one morning, one of the man's children came running up the beach, saying,
"strange men have come".

The sun beat down on glistening planks, white sails, strong ropes, heavy chains, and big cannons.
Men with colorful plumes, bright uniforms, and gleaming swords disembarked, to greet the family of the native man.
They walked down out of their ship like gods.

They told the man that he was naked, that he should be ashamed of his simplicity.
They told him that his nakedness should be hidden by darkness.
The strangers brought him Shame.

The strangers took possession of the good things on the island.
Food, water, animals, plants, were loaded onto the ship.
In the confusion even a few of the man's children were loaded onto the ship!

The confusion came mostly from the strangers' ideas of how to separate and deal with light and darkness,
with pride and with shame. So much time was lost in the arguing and details that life began to pass by.

The longer people argued, the later grew the hour,
and when the time came for building a fire, the men who had brought the ship informed the islanders that they would set sail.
They told the native man to appreciate the wonderful things they had brought to his island if only briefly.
They told him to be grateful his children would grow up to be more than simple savages.

And when the man sat in the cold sand with his wife and two remaining children,
realizing there was not enough wood or fish left even for a proper evening,
he knew that the true meaning of wealth is not always what we have,
but what we do not have.

The man wept for his lost children, and the next morning the family used the last of their firewood to build a funereal fire.
They mourned the dead and the loss of their material resources, found enough lumber in the jungle to make a raft,
and they found another island even more difficult to reach than the last.

Embrace the darkness no less than the light lest the darkness work through you.

I like this sentence, great, thanks!

It reminds me of polarities, Ying/Yang principle, love/hate, all the other opposites! But, I feel that the negative part of the opposite is not always easy to deal with. IMHO, if I could be able to use the darkness wisely, I would have more power!

Darkness bring eery sensations, don't always feel easy in the still darkness! Our senses play tricks on us since they are usually the detectors of movement, of coming agression, etc., but in the dark, our senses are limited in detecting if there is danger ahead or not!, challenging!

The best to you!

Well, this is where I am personally right now dealing with my shadow aspects and boy it is not pretty. I realized I need to acknowledge these parts and engage them but let me say sometimes (whisper) I hate it. There I said it, feel better. Sometimes the one reassuring thing I can say it that I didn't get arrested, no one's dead, I have no prison time to do, really I am not kidding.
When I happen to have a not so pleasant situation come up in this regard, I say to myself, in this pile of Sh#t I will find gold if I know where to look and if I keep at it, to say that my alchemical skills are being tested would be an understatement

please could you explain a little bit on this - I listened to the lyrics, I got the connection to brainwaves, mind control - but what about Simon/Garfunkel, or do you mean the video artist ? I felt rather funny watching it.

Nonsense, this is a slightly slower live recording of a song that started out at 3:06
4zLfCnGVeL4
I don't know anything about the artist's military background (which one anyway?), but why don't you just check out the lyrics of all their songs?
Funnily enough, by the time I played through this version, it had passed from 3:33 to 3:32 :) It is about mind control, yes, and may or may not be appropriate for Innocent Warrior's purpose, but it is in no way an apology for mind control, but rather a warning against it.

Bye onejustman!

I have a screenshot of this post from way back in 2015 when I made it. The timestamp was "Today 06:50" and I recall that this, indeed, was the timestamp because I commented on it in a document I produced at that time (thus why I have the screenshot). If you follow the link back to the post now, the timestamp says 7:50 (not 6:50). How could that have changed? I was in Dallas, then. I am in Dallas now and I am certain my timezone settings were correct both then and now).

Here's the screenshot from 2015 -

Here's the link back to the post as it appears today showing 7:50 -
