Hello members,
i would like to present you DIY project for Vertical axis wind turbine.
You can make it for under 500$ if you have tools and use used materials.
It gives 1KW max output power.
All is described in video.
Used magnets are: Neodymium N50 50x25x12.5mm
Used wire is: 2mm2, dual insulated copper wire 200 degrees for coils.
Used car wheel mechanism; Audi 100, rear-side mechanism, non-drive

Hi 2cool,
This is extremely interesting... Thanks for posting this.
Is it an easy matter to store the electricity generated in this manner?
How do we, for example, store the electricity in batteries ?
What are some of the issues associated with electricity storage ?
Thanks for your help.. and thanks again for posting this :-)
be happy

Hello lucidity,
there are 3 ways of using this free generated energy from wind turbine:
1. Get several hundred Ah of batteries, load them directly with generator
with simple 3 phase full wave bridge rectifier circuit and use this 12V collected energy
from batteries for 12V devices (lighting, etc.)
2. Get modified sine-wave inverter (12-60VDC to 110/230VAC), connect your generator on inverter input
and output to your your home plug, in circuits which do not produce magnetic induction (tv, radio, lighting, laptop...)
3. Get ON grid pure sine-wave inverter, connect your generator on inverter input
and output to your your home plug and return your electric meter backwards by
returning energy into network. Note: "this may not be legal, and meter should be analogue"
p.s. in all 3 cases you need simple 3 phase full wave bridge rectifier circuit
to convert 3 phase AC current to DC current.
Regards from Croatia
Mario.
