Wrote another article today, first one in a little while. This time about the Science of Breath, and the Science of Fasting. Both have been beneficial to me.

The Science of Breath - The Science of Fasting

The Science of Breath

About a decade ago a friend of mine lent me an old small book of his, it was titled: "The Science of Breath" by the Yogi's. I was not able to read the whole thing before my friend asked for it back, but the knowledge in the book that stood out to me the most was very simple. It stated that breathing IN with the nose was important. It mentioned that the nose is the bodies filtration apparatus for air, and that breathing in with the mouth would result in more sicknesses since things are not as filtered that way. It resonated with me.

Later on I came across a breathing technique that my ET friends insisted was useful. I have found it helpful and I will share it. It is most effective when one is angry, or somehow very dissatisfied. It can very much help cure a programming of negative nature.

This is the technique:

•Breath IN the healing love of the universe(or any other good concept you can find, I particularly like to breath in under the conceptualization of healing energy). This could be focused on a particular part of the body as well.

•Breath OUT whatever you feel is bad, with the idea of purging it from your consciousness or body.

The power of the mind is powerful with ailments. I am not sure this technique can actually cure anything physical though. However, mental things it can work wonders for(especially anger issues I tend to think). Using the power of the imagination has become more popular these days. I am careful to think that meditating or anything like it actually changes reality. But the power of thought over one's own body is indeed factually accurate. Stress, anger, hatred, fear, etc deteriorate health in my eyes. Love, joy, happiness etc help the physiology IMO.

If you have to do something that requires focus, a good oxygen count can be helpful I tend to think. Taking deep breaths is therapeutic and can help a lot of things. I know if I am ever worked up, taking a deep breath can certainly help.

There are many methods of breathing that relate to the science of breath. I wont be covering most of those as I don't have much experience in such things, like for example the Yogis. But I have identified the potency of the science of breath...

The Science of Fasting

Fasting is a very potent thing I have learned. Not only can it help lose weight if that is a focus, it can lead to some very enlightening mindsets and much more. I think the overly obese America could definitely use some fasting... My own methods of fasting include consuming very pure drinks instead of nothing, but one size does not fit all in this regard. I do not strictly consume nothing like some other methods. I feel varying methods are quite fine and see nothing wrong with either.

I find I become much more energetically sensitive when I fast. And I become extremely sensitive to what I put in my body. Most things available at the grocery store I simply cannot stomach after fasting due to impurities. For example a bag of cool ranch doritos I could literally FEEL the dissonance in that product after not eating from just walking by the chip aisle in the store, visualizing eating such. Does fasting increase psychic ability? Perhaps shows my experiences.... Although I make no conclusions about that.

I have tried a few different methods of 'fasting' and my favorite method is only consuming liquids for the first approximately 6-10 hours of the day, then eating one balanced meal for dinner. Or alternatively only consuming a small amount of healthy juice of some sort during one day one has not much to do(I highly recommend Sambazon Acai regular flavor).

My two favorite liquids for fasting are Sambazon Acai regular flavor, and Green tea sweetened with honey. I have lost weight, and noticed a better energy after a fast of this nature.

Modern science has begun investigating fasting, and they have found potential for many health benefits. Here is an article on fasting by livescience.com:
Intermittent Fasting Benefits (http://www.livescience.com/48888-intermittent-fasting-benefits-weight-loss.html)

The more fasting is researched the more it will be shown as a health benefit I personally believe...

If you are interested in a toxin purge with fasting I'm unsure if it actually does purge toxins, but with acai fasting losing weight and purging toxins seemed to be the result for me(although don't be scared at what turns up in the toilet...). Also for purging the body of toxins I highly recommend getting a massage, and drinking a lot of liquids that day.

I wouldn't call myself an expert on fasting, or the science of breath to be clear. But I have found very nice benefits from both. Any comments related to one's own experiences are welcome. I'd love to learn more about these topics...

I'm on the third day of a fast right now. I'm not eating anything, just drinking water and a glass of freshly squeezed juice when I want one (no pulp etc., just to cut the boredom a bit). I've done a 30 day fast before, a couple of years ago now. I'm going to do it a little differently this time, this time I will be introducing sun gazing into my body at about the three week mark and I won't be putting a limit on the days I will be fasting. Not my primary objective but I want to explore/test the theory that we don't need to eat, hence limit of days removed. I'm going to start recording some stats today; sleep, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, emotional state and mental state.

I was amazed at the physical health benefits, last time I did it. I had so much more energy and I needed far less sleep. The main reason I'm doing this one is for spiritual reasons. I want to experience the state of effortless body presence (don't really know how to term it, that's what Tolle would call it) again, that was amazing, this time I want to explore it. I remember standing in the kitchen just experiencing my energy. It was so powerful and obvious, not underneath my emotions and thoughts and other physical sensations anymore, it had become most obvious of all. It felt like food had behaved as a blanket of heaviness that smothered and concealed my true sustenance, MY energy. I just felt like a tiny little star, radiating my light.

I don't understand the science of breathing but I use it all the time. I tend to worry and take a deep breath when I catch myself worrying (not that great at catching it) and it always puts a stop to the thought pattern.

I have fasted due to an illness to hit me like a flash and floored me for 2 days. It was good for the mind, it sets free the mind but it really weakened me together with whatever I had. I had to force myself to eat (no appetite, no hunger) so that I could stand again. I really loved the 'space in my mind' while on the fast but I needed solid food, mainly a bit of good fat and a bit of animal protein brought me back slowly to physical strength. Interestingly I have not gotten back my appetite since (nearly 2 weeks passed) and I eat only when I really do need it for the body. I enjoy a clarify of mind I do not have when I eat out of habit. Thanks for sharing! :)

Hi Omniverse good OP.

You can do so much with 'Breath' and as you pointed out you can use it to direct/focus health energies!

It is important to breath in through the 'Nose' because it directs the 'Oxygen' rich air over the various 'blood corpuscles' in there!
and allows the body to have first contact with any external influences, IE the nose smells and tastes the air!

My best 'Breathing exercise' that I think I might have invented is 'Directional Breath'

Background to this exercise:

I used to have to travel on public buses late at night. While travelling I used to do several breathing exercises one of which was created by me to make my journey more comfortable ;)

So first steps to master this are creatively easy, 'Deceleration and Acceleration' (All breathing for this exercise are as of a 'Cat' IE lower abdomen in first then chest, reverse for out breath)

When the bus slows don you are prone to lean forwards in the seat, reverse is true for bus speeding up so: Breath in to counteract the bus slowing and breath out for bus speeding up, simple! Now while doing this use your physical self to stay in the same position, so no leaning forwards or backwards, and only do this using the breath!
It's really quite fun.
So once you have mastered 'Deceleration and Acceleration' you will find that with the aid of your mind and visualization that you will be able to do the same with the next 2 direction 'Left and Right' and again once mastered the next two directions 'Up and Down'

When doing this to it's full (After much practice) you will be using subtle and fast, subtle and slow breaths from the full range of your body, so very beneficial for that reason but! very, very useful for other Meditative and visualization exercises!

When all directional breath is achieved you will fell like you are suspended by a rod running through your mind/body that is independent from external movement :wizard:

great energy builder and director, great for nullifying blows and movement forced onto you body:wizard:

You know how I said I'm going to test the no food theory? Well...nah, that's not going to happen. Day five now and I've already decided 30 days will do me, I'm just not THAT interested in the research on this one. :faint::ohwell:

Interesting I heard that fasting for long periods of time could shrink the stomach(not sure if its true). Next week I'll fast for the first time.

Focusing on what is bad and what you want to release on the breath out is not a good idea in my opinion, especially if we are to believe the law of attraction. What we focus on is what we receive, so unless you're very careful I don't think that's very good advice.

As a child I was taught to breathe in light and breathe out love. Imagining your lungs and body filling with glorious light as you inhale and then exhaling your love and appreciation out to the world on the exhale. It's a very helpful practice and makes you feel great. Certainly helps to raise the bodies vibration without potentially confusing things by focusing on the negative with every out breath :o

It is for deprogramming purposes. So I guess under that belief one would be sacrificing some time of focus on something bad, in exchange for deprogramming and getting one's 'vibration' to a better state. Some negative things are persistent in one's experience.

I personally think the new age version of law of attraction part of calculated psy op new religion done by TPTB. My signature quote speaks of the real law of attraction IMO. So does Mark Passio. It takes action. TPTB are great at applying their will into manifestation. They do not sit there and visualize it, they create it...

Visualizing can be potent, so can belief. There are real mechanics involved in the new agy version of law of attraction but they aren't laws IMO they are more relative and based on who you meet. Kind of like karma in a way. Karma is not exact IMHO(unless exacted by a source based on your actions)

After considerable fasting since I made this thread I have some observations/suggestions.

-Do not eat too fatty food after an intense fast, vomiting may occur, or just a very unsettled stomach.
-Be very careful what you put in your body while you fast, it changes one's metabolism from what I have observed. So if you fast and consume only one type of thing, one's stomach acid for maybe 1-7 days seems to adjust to such a thing, and when you start introducing new things to the stomach acid it can cause upset stomach.
-Do not overeat after fasting a lot. I found myself so so hungry that i ate meals the same size as before, and my body was more aligned to smaller meals. This lead to bad things...
-Yes, fasting makes your stomach smaller. I used to eat 4 tacos from an authentic mexican taco stand(So yum) for dinner. Now I eat like 2.5-3 and I'm stuffed.
-Fasting will make you much more sensitive to what you put in your body. I already knew this but it became extremely evident. After fasting quite hardcore while eating only one small meal a day for numerous days I have found my whole craving system is a little out of whack. I always want ET quality foods, and I don't have access to that much....
-Fasting makes you not want sweets/candy
-Eating sweets while fasting very much affects one's energy
-Hypersensitivity to what one puts in their body with fasting, this is a double edged blade. I now find myself having a hard time wanting any of the food I have available at the grocery store. I have been eating tacos from an absolutely delicious authentic mexican taco stand religiously. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have that taco stand.

I have desired to go vegetarian for a while now, but I am so picky with foods I do not like most vegetarian dishes. So I eat a small amount of meat... I am still looking for good vegetarian recipes though...
