View Full Version : In Search of Actual New News and Information

Hi There Avalonians - what brought me to Avalon and Project Camelot in the first place is my relentless quest for genuinely new and helpful information. Lately I am getting the feeling for the most part, with notable exceptions, I am in somewhat of an informational echo chamber. While of course I value the opinions and beliefs of others, I am thirsty for information. A lot of what I am seeing here is recycled stories and snippets from old ideas being rehashed. Some of the more interesting contributions of late relate to issues like the importance of intellectual and personal integrity which of course can never be emphasized or discussed enough in my opinion. Without intellectual and personal integrity, we have not positioned ourselves in our lives as conscious creators. In any event I am very hungry for actual news and new information of a genuinely alternative nature. Does anyone share my sense that we are spinning somewhat in an alternative informational vortex? Are we being spun, or is that effect something we do to ourselves? Does this vortex effect represent our "limitations" ?? Any system, for example our solar system, is self-referential, and endlessly interesting, but to get the larger picture we need to envision and to begin to grasp what lies outside the vortex.

Hi Ahkenaten,

I know exactly what you mean.

For the most these days it seems that some prefer to clip and paste articles from Rense and Prison Planet. In the old days, in the older forum there were more independent postings. Even the information that was already known was at least interpreted perhaps from another point of view. There were people who had specific interests who posted things that not even Rense & Co. had got hold of. Even news stories were broke before it was news by some!

I don't know if it's also the case of 'younger' (in terms of experience) members are just discovering what has been published in the alternative media in the past and so to them it is something new and they, understandably, beleive they are telling something new, when the truth is it is old information. This being the case, then there needs to be a little patience to be employed untill these people are up to parr.

It seems that these things happen in cycles and eventually will sort themselves out. I hope.

Best regards,

Steve

Oh so it's not just me! I am somewhat relieved, thanks steve_a...............and you made a very good point about 'younger' people just getting on to information some of us oldsters have been ruminating on for some time now. Patience is always a virtue and I must vow again to practice it more, I feel myself getting a little grouchy today for some reason. I have little patience for Alex Jones and Prison Planet, for example! While being patient and kind is always very helpful when dealing with a variety of people and points of view, the prime value for me at least should not be 'be nice at any cost' - we MUST take this ship to the next level.

Frankly, I like the direction that is leading to more exploration of consciousness but I sure miss the whistleblower interviews. Is it that Camelot has changed their focus or that whistleblowers are scared to surface?

actually I think since Avalon was created, whistleblowers like everyone else are reading the forum and watch as what they release is slowly tore up by our "experts"...

Well, we must remember that no news is new! Even if we escape the vortex we find ourselves in another vortex, just like he who thinks outside the box will always find himself in another box!

If it is information you seek, it will surely come to you. The poking and prodding consciousness will always illuminate that which was previously dark, but sometimes you have to ask yourself, "what is it that I wish to learn?", "Why do I wish to learn about it?". Try to know what it is you seek and why you wish to seek it.

Also, if we are talking the usual 'conspiracy' subjects, this can be an addictive topic. There are so many stories and ideas out there that the process of uncovering these actual or illusory 'truths' (it doesn't matter which) can be quite addicting. Especially when we first awaken to 'The Game'.
We human beings love mystery, we love discovering new things and the process of learning and gaining experience is our primary push in all our endeavors in this world. We are happy when we learn and process apparently new information, we are bored and life becomes stale when there seems nothing left to learn or uncover. The young child enters this world in absolute wonder and awe, as it yet knows nothing of this world, and the mystery is, for him, infinite. Later, as it grows older and believes it has figured everything out about the world he/she becomes less happy. The mystery for this person is dead and there is nothing left to know, nothing to learn, nothing to hope for. But little does that person know that they know but very little! This is why those on a more spiritual path are often ecstatic and euphoric in their daily lives, because for them, the mystery is an infinitely unfolding lotus that offers much to discover!
And, coming back to my point, I should state that perhaps you are looking in the wrong places for new information. Maybe it's not a question of whether not there is new information, but what kind of information.

Thank you Solphilos................maybe the barrier we run up against in our quest for truth and understanding is the limitations of a certain human mind-set for lack of better words.............for example humans cannot really understand the reality of an insect because we are not insects ourselves and cannot enter into their world and see it from their point of view so to speak. I am thinking over and over of your words not new information but kinds of information......................I take it you mean by 'kinds' our personal perspectives.... but maybe I misunderstood.

Anyway there are many barriers and speed-bumps in communicating with other humans ... so many misunderstandings and distortions that it is hard to conceive of communicating with other beings.

And yet, on the pure level of feeling, we and other animals here on earth DO communicate, sometimes very well - even across species. Perhaps our limitations have to do with something about the whole duality thing, left/right, good/bad, black/white - anyway these ideas have already been discussed at length in this Forum.

Shortly we may come to something like the 'end of language' as we have known it. I have often thought that unless and until language is evolved beyond, and we come then to a place where it is not possible to lie - we will remain stuck at a certain level.

Yes, language is a great shortcoming and an unfortunate crutch that we must rely upon to communicate. As we are each the center of our own universe and everything/everyone else revolves around us, we all perceive the influx of information in our own unique way. Our words are nothing more than symbols which convey meaning, and those meanings often vary from culture to culture, person to person, even when the language is apparently the 'same'. This can be witnessed right away if when we hear someone from the Southern U.S. speaking with a London native. Though they are both speaking English, they are not exactly speaking the same language. In this same way, none of us really speak the same language, yet we tend to assume that we are. This leads to great misunderstandings and misinterpretations.

But of course, I completely agree that it is necessary for us to evolve beyond the need for word and symbol as an effective means of communication, and I believe that we are on that path.

Hi Ahkenaten, maybe you are aware of this, but we already are at the place where we cannot lie - sort of. I guess we can lie, but at the same time we can't help but tell the truth at the same time.

Have you heard of reverse speech?
In case you haven't it's where, despite what you're saying, the truth of it will be revealed in reverse.
It seems our subconscious mind hears the true message. So when you get a funny feeling that Joe Blow whose looking you in the eye and spinning you a fast one isn't quite kosher - that's why.

But I think people need to be somewhat intune with themselves to get the benefit of this.

Truly fascinating.

Yes Tekai I have heard of reverse speech..............and do agree that it is often very revelatory and worthwhile seriously exploring. I guess what I am trying to say that some kind of telepathic communication, direct, brain-to-brain or something like that might be better than what passes for language now and provide more actual interface (I hate that word) with less dissonance. Sometimes I think that the cetaceans may be on that track ..... as for data on the environment a sound reflection (kind of like a sonar return) might be more accurate than struggling among ourselves with nouns, verbs and adjectives.......anyway I am struggling for words here and clearly I am in over my head!

Thank you, Akenathen :) I think I am in the same boat with you..ha ha...as we say in Holland. That is the reason why I posted my reply in the "what will mid november bring?" thread:
lady Gaya speaking :) We've got to let go of intellectual high tightrope walking and return down to Earth. Hippie Tint.

Leave the speculations behind and open up to a whole lot of LOVE, in whatever way you desire.
We are invited to let go of control and action plans, strategies, let lady Gaya lead the way.
Take care of her, grow crops, build your own homes, work with your hands, use your feet, dance, make love. Eat, drink, smoke pot for God's sake...ha ha..ahem.....but DO something? Share jokes, smiles, tears and teasing, take care or yourself in the most glorious way.

Think for a moment and ask yourself "What is it that I deserve? What is it that I really want to give to myself?" If anything is possible, what's your first action? Don't hesitate and start giving yourself exactly that and each other No matter how crazy or fantastic, be creative and playfull. Dare to be as crazy as a monkey, funny as a lark, a king's jester, a clown. Try to find all of your faces and express them, they are all valuble to be expressed. That's the best thing to do, for now. There are almost no words to describe what changes will come and how they will shape our reality.

The feminine way is the path of experience and intuition. We have to learn to trust and go one step at a time. Every day is a day to live fully and it's name or number doesn't count, women know that, they are wise. We can treasure life and honor lady Gaia in that surrender to what is, being who you and I truly are. Within ourselves is the masculine and feminine energy, combined they are the ground on which to manifest our co-creation, the birthing of a New Earth. As Kiesha Crowther says "We are the rainbow people" We are the daring ones who have chosen to be here on crucial moments in time, experienced in many facets of the crystal, that is a metaphor for the Creation of Life through Consciousness and Love.

Lady Gaia loves us tremendously, I feel very much loved by her and she loves us to express that.
In the most glorious and pleasurable way, sharing with others. What on Earth do we need more, hmmmm?
It's always a two way event: it is our intention and attention, that is used purposefully, resulting in the shape of our reality,
I believe. Matter follows spirt. It starts with US, Lightwarriors.

We haven't a reference to really grasp the impact of this new extatic love, that is generated by lady Gaia. We are NOW in the middle of great change, but how can we deal with it, other then EXPERIENCE and JOY? Be fearful with a wide open heart, be angered, white hot blazing and tearful even in that.
Life is meant to be all included, cause it's shaped and created by Love and Consciousness, the yin/yang of the Cosmos.

A poem by Rumi
The Dream That Must Be Interpreted

This place is a dream.
Only a sleeper considers it real.
Then death comes like dawn,
and you wake up laughing
at what you thought was your grief.

But there's a difference with this dream.
Everything cruel and unconscious
done in the illusion of the present world,
all that does not fade away at the death-waking.

It stays, and it must be interpreted.
All the mean laughing,
all the quick, sexual wanting,
those torn coats of Joseph,

they change into powerful wolves
that you must face.

The retaliation that sometimes comes now,
the swift, payback hit,
is just a boy's game
to what the other will be.

You know about circumcision here.
It's full castration there!

And this groggy time we live,
this is what it's like:

A man goes to sleep in the town
where he has always lived, and he dreams he's living
in another town.
In the dream, he doesn't remember
the town he's sleeping in his bed in. He believes
the reality of the dream town.

The world is that kind of sleep.
The dust of many crumbled cities
settles over us like a forgetful doze,
but we are older than those cities.

We began as a mineral.
We emerged into plant life
and into the animal state, and then into being human,
and always we have forgotten our former states,
except in early spring when we slightly recall
being green again.

That's how a young person turns toward a teacher.
That's how a baby leans toward the breast,
without knowing the secret
of its desire, yet turning instinctively.

Humankind is being led along an evolving course,
through this migration of intelligences,
and though we seem to be sleeping,
there is an inner wakefulness
that directs the dream,

and that will eventually startle us back
to the truth of who we are.

Ahkenaten

Thanks for this thread and the reminder, I have been in the research field for awhile now, 25+ years, more than some not as long as many and there is a part of Self that bemoans "The same old thing" & and "oh look a few years have gone by and the professional BSr's, people who make money of others gullibility and even a few sincere but discredited by their own actions people pop their heads back up to wow the populace".

Then there is the other part of self that sometimes forgets that there truly are gems of information out there to be found if for no other reason that to help us make the next step in our personal evolution.

One thing I can say I have learned is that time teaches but only if you are willing to constantly question your assumptions to avoid "old dog,new trick syndrome" information in and of itself is just a tool but its a complicated tool that takes time and should be handled with respect and if it no longer serve's your personal growth then be willing to throw it away and get a new tool/information to help with the continued task and wisdom may someday be ones reward, then again the Universe on all its multiple levels might be infinite so the end goal may well be just the beginning.
I cannot remember where I heard this but it was said once that "the student should study Buddhism thoroughly until they know it like the beating of their own heart, then and only then can they be ready to learn Zen and forget all they have learned until now".

I would venture to say Avalon itself has made many steps in its evolution, just as Project Camelot has.
Lets see where the path leads shall we.

Well, this is new news - http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/11/10/lizard.lunch.discovery/index.html?hpt=C1

Scientists discover unknown lizard species at lunch buffet

(CNN) -- It may be an old menu standby to Vietnamese diners, but it's turned into a smorgasbord of discovery for scientists.
Researchers have identified a previously undocumented species of all-female lizard in the Mekong River delta that can reproduce itself by cloning, and the story of how it was discovered is almost as exotic as the animal itself.
Leiolepis ngovantrii is a small lizard found only in southern Vietnam. A Vietnamese reptile scientist who came across tanks full of the remarkably similar looking reptiles at small diners in rural villages in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province became intrigued when he noticed that all of the lizards appeared to be female.
So the scientist, Ngo Van Tri of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, contacted an American colleague about what he was seeing. His friend -- a herpetologist at La Sierra University in Riverside, California -- immediately dropped everything to come out to assess the find.

Dr. Lee Grismer and his son, Jesse Grismer, a doctoral candidate, flew all the way to Hanoi and then faced a grueling two-day motorcycle trip out to a restaurant where the owner promised to set aside a stash of the creatures for study.
But there was a little problem, says Grismer.
"Unfortunately, the owner wound up getting drunk, and grilled them all up for his patrons... so when we got there, there was nothing left."
Another recent discovery: Red-bearded monkey
Faced with an empty tank and nearly dashed hopes, the men asked around at other cafes in the area for the local delicacy, and hired children to track down as many of the lizards as they could find.
The team soon had more than 60, and realized they had something special on their hands: a previously undocumented species.
"It's an entirely new lineage of life that was being eaten and sold in restaurants for food," says Grismer. "But it's something that scientists have missed for hundreds of years."
DNA sampling on the tiny reptiles brought another surprise: all of the lizards were female, and clones of their mothers.
It's a rare trait, but not unheard of. Some species of lizards and fish can adapt to parthenogenesis, or self-fertilization, especially when faced with adverse environments, pollution or over-hunting.
Grismer suspects that the lizards are a hybrid mix of two similar lizard species in the area, but one that is not sterile and is adapted to the increasing population of human farmers around it.
In fact, while scientists once led big expeditions to the most remote areas to find new animals, Grismer says today, that new frontier is quite often right in people's backyards.
"What we're finding is that local inhabitants know a tremendous amount about the natural histories of the regions in which they live," he says, adding that tapping into local knowledge has led to many new lizard discoveries. "It's not that they're not known... locals know all about them. It's just that they're not known to scientists."
So what does a plate full of Leiolepis ngovantrii taste like?
Well, nothing remotely like chicken, Grismer says.
"You wouldn't want to substitute it for a Big Mac or anything like that," he says, and you won't see lizard banh mi showing up on menus anytime soon.
Grismer complained that he had to hold his breath while eating the local dish to appear polite to the restaurant owners.
"You take a bite out of it and it feels like something very old and dead in your mouth," he said.

Scientists discover frog with inflating nose

(CNN) -- Scientists have discovered a "treasure trove of new species" including a frog with a "Pinocchio-like" nose in a remote section of Indonesian rainforest in Southeast Asia.
The male tree frog, whose pointed nose was seen to inflate when calling, was one of dozens of new species found on an expedition to the Foja Mountains in the Papua province of Indonesia in New Guinea Island, organized by Conservation International's Rapid Assessment Program (RAP).
Leanne Alonso, director of RAP, told CNN: "It's a frog which goes up trees and lays its eggs on undersides of leaves. Its nose is probably inflating to call females. Usually frogs inflate under the throat when they call."
The frog, along with new species of mammals, insects, a reptile and birds were discovered on a 2008 expedition but have only recently been verified.
They include a "blossom bat" which feeds on rainforest nectar, a new type of small tree-mouse and a black and white butterfly related to the common monarch.
Scientists also discovered the world's smallest wallaby, a pair of new imperial pigeons with "rusty, whitish and gray" feathers, a giant woolly rat and a "gargoyle-like" gecko with yellow eyes.
The Foja Mountains are home to 300,000 square hectares of pristine rainforest which is "a profound species generator" and a "critical carbon-sink for the planet," says Conservation International (CI).
"The area is probably holds the highest number of species we haven't found yet. It's so isolated, and every time we go there we find new species," Alonso said.
Biologists tracked down the new species from Kwerba, a village in the foothills of Foja Mountains to its peaks which rise 2,200 meters (7,200 feet) high.
Bruce Beehler, senior research scientist at CI, said in a statement: "Places like these represent a healthy future for all of us and show that it is not too late to stop the current species extinction crisis."
The announcement of the discovery of new species comes in the same week as the International Day for Biological Diversity 2010, and only shortly after a U.N. report revealed governments around the world have failed to meet biodiversity targets set in 2002.
"While animals and plants are being wiped out across the globe at a pace never seen in millions of years, the discovery of these absolutely incredible forms of life is much-needed positive news," Beehler said.
CI, which has been conducting RAP surveys for two decades, hopes that this most recent documentation of endemic biodiversity will encourage the Indonesian government to boost long-term protection in the area.
"A lot of species are becoming extinct before we even know they exist -- especially insects. Can you imagine how many insects go extinct when you cut down a big chunk of forest?" Alonso said.
"All these species play a role in the eco-system. And all of them are what's keeping our our water, air and soil fresh. Each of them plays their part."
A special feature on the expedition, "Discovery in the Foja Mountains," will appear in the June 2010 issue of National Geographic magazine.

Well... since my journey began on Avalon , I was hunting for the 'alternative' truth out there. (In hindsight, surely anyone, including me, believing they can find real whole alternative answers in this life is surely being naive.

Yet of course, can we be blamed when the so called purveyors of these alternative truths seem so sure of their knowledge? Not surprising that they trap the unwary with their convincing rhetoric. These stories are so wonderous and delightful the first time you come across one. 'No? Really? Wow!!...

'Sure... they may believe their truth, but that does not make it absoulte. There could be a whole host of reasons why they would believe their own story. Unless you are them, you ain't ever going to know for certain)

So, getting off that merry-go round, I've come to think of this life as I experience it is surely about choices, not concrete facts. I think if any knowledge were concrete and without question, this would remove an element of choice and therefore freedom from our daily existence.

So instead we make our choices. You pays your money, you takes your choice and you learn what that choice meant to you. This , for me is experiential reality.

From this , I have concluded that Real news is what happens to YOU

You bought a car ? You passed your maths exam? You ate three cheeseburgers? That's news.

You read, "Douible decker bus found on the moon..."? (or take your pick of a million more believable headlines (include 9/11 in that morass if you will)

and now I say to you, how do you know this ?? Every editor has an angle, every writer has a pitch. Until you know the author of anything intimately (even this little piece) how will you know the truth of it or behind it.

So I leave it as , news is what happens to YOU. There can be no arguing with that one. And if you're lucky enough to see a UFO, bully for you, I'm happy. But I ain't going to believe it unless I'm standing there with you when it happens.

Other than that, JSmineset and globalresearch.ca are pretty neutral yet interesting sites if you like to read about 'other' stuff. Read too much though, and it will sap your soul...

You have been warned !

Yes, I'm absolutely wrapped about your cat, because I'm 99.999 % sure it's true.

Why would I be equally happy about reading stuff I'm only 0.001 % sure is true ?

Surely that is just 'filling ones head' with those little polystyrene squiggles.

Thank you Tint for your powerful and heartfelt msgs. I love to read the positive thoughts and inspiration you bring.

Thinking about the Birthing of a New Earth and the feminine energy - it may be that as females we have less fear of this process. We are born with the inner knowledge of birthing (even if all do not go through the process) and we know that yes, there is some pain, but afterwards there is a wonderful new soul. I think that is how we should approach the coming changes. Plan for the time you will be in pain but keep the excitement for the new Earth that is to come.

Akenathen:

Thank you, Akenathen :) I think I am in the same boat with you..ha ha...as we say in Holland. That is the reason why I posted my reply in the "what will mid november bring?" thread:
lady Gaya speaking :) We've got to let go of intellectual high tightrope walking and return down to Earth. Hippie Tint.

I think the analogy of giving birth is extremly relevant for what we are about to live as a specie. Humanity (it is feminin in french :) ) is pregnant and it is at its very last step of pregnancy. All women who has lived this experience knows how uneasy it is at the last days... The act of giving birth could be hard and painful, but sometimes it isn't, many woman can confirm this. Nevertheless, there is 'novelty' after the birth is given, real novelty that change life forever. Thank you.

Namaste, Steven

Kula - the cat IS toilet trained. Saves some clay, a precious crystalline structure after all! Every little bit of conservation helps!

I can echo Kula somewhat: Seek out life's little gems for your own edification. Taste the wine and think, and feel what it means to you. Feel the sunshine on your skin and tell yourself how that feels. Feel it deeply.

As for Avalon, don't fall into the addictive trap of always seeking the next news item. As many veterans of the alternative news community will tell you, after the first initial stages of awareness expansion...you reach a plateau....and at a certain point every future step must be done more slowly and thoughtfully, and your rate of progress slows. Like a mountainclimber you plod upward, slowly, one foot at a time...but ever upward.

This is just another stage of growth. Next you'll be asking yourself: How can I take the knowledge that the sun is entering a period of increased activity, and apply that to helping me finish sanding that shelf in the garage??

I'll tell you a secret....you can apply that knowledge.

How does the fact that HAARP is being utilized to trigger earthquakes or other global affects help you with washing the dishes?

It can indeed. Your awareness is increased. And any act done in awareness, from painting a wall, to washing someones feet, can be sacred and meaningful when enacted with increased awareness.

So don't separate the two worlds....so without...so within. Synthesize them.

And as many old-timers will tell you, though news may not always be new....you can always consider that news in a new way.

BREAKING NEWS!!!

I mowed a walking path around my property today which will allow me the opportunity to get some exercise without having to use a boring treadmill - as long as it is not freezing outside. The PTB do not like this as it is good for my health, and it gets me outside in the sunshine and fresh air. This type of activity is also good for my immune system - along with a good diet - and I do not have to spend my hard earned money on doctor visits or get flu shots from the local AMA establishments. All humans are encouraged to take similar actions and confound the plans of the NWO. Have a great day!

I love this Hiram. You talking my language.

I've never said this stuff ain't real... I just think we still need to get on and do. And that doesn't necessarily mean exposing or awakening. Life is far more mundane AND beautiful than we realise. Self awareness is key to all of that.

Hey, what are friends for:)

I actually have to go wash the dishes now. I will try to get them done before Martial Law is declared....but I don't know.

I don't know if there will be enough time....;)

Postscript: I actually take these things quite seriously, but I am making "light" of them. I "make Light" out of dark situations.
