Radar anomalies?

Because of my work (carpentry and coach), I pay close attention to the weather. Weather.com is my homepage and I check radar frequently almost every day. I notice lots of strange things. I only recently began to save some images and the times I saw them. Embarrassingly, I just learned how easy it is to capture a screen shot or I'd have more for you now.
Here is a screen shot captured from weather.com just a few minutes ago:

You'll notice lines in the radar like the spokes of a wheel which, if you extend the lines, seem to come from somewhere near Morristown, TN. There is another set of lines to the Southeast. I see these lines all the time and for the last couple months in the exact same locations. I have images saved from exactly 20 days ago with the same lines in the same exact location.
The interesting part about this (and you can check it out yourself by going to the website radar) is that when you put the radar into motion you notice that the system moves through the area but the lines do not move. It's like something is being emitted from a central location that has a big effect on the cloud system moving over/through it.
There are no [listed] military installations in this area that I could find.
Anyone have any ideas for what this could be?

I cannot offer any meteorological help here but i like the notion you have. My doppler app shows wierd phenomenae around my city (a halo around city that has wind/rain everywhere but inside the circle around the city) Keep it up for us mpennery!

I have seen perfectly circular images pop up on radar as well, that looked like someone had put a dome over a particular location that I suppose changed the temperature of the affected area perhaps, allowing me to see the area on radar. It was like above where the system moved through the area but the circle didn't budge. This was before I was saving such things. Hopefully I can find one of those as well.

Just so you can see what I'm talking about, here's another screen shot of the same area in TN, over 2 hours after my first post. The spokes in both the same locations remain though the system has moved and changed. Weird, huh?

The hub of those spokes is the radar tower; which is stationary. I've noticed significant in creases in "ground clutter" associated with large weather fronts which leads me to believe the radar towers themselves can be used to modify weather.

I have worked with radar - although not weather radar. Radar sometimes suffers from 'ground clutter', i.e. various obstructions often close to the antenna which cast 'shadows' giving the effect of beams or spokes. Sea and rain also give 'clutter' reflections of different characteristics.

Having two radar installations within range of each other on the same or similar frequencies also gives some odd effects to the untrained eye - most noticeably curvy, swirling 'wheels' that appear in the radar imaging.

If the forum has anyone who is actually qualified in interpreting unusual meteorological weather radar returns, please speak up.

It really looks like HAARP radial signature. If this HAARP facility is not listed in the area maybe it has strictly military purpose like defense.

I see these type of effects quite frequently on Australian weather radar images. Just recently the bureau of guessology (meteorology) stated the lines are due to powerful radio interference. They did not say from where.

I wonder if some of these anomalies are similar to what Dutshsinse has been observing for years on weather maps? Some he calls scalar squares and he noticed a link with tornados and severe thunderstorms appearing soon after some of these anomalies. 13th Warrior, thanks. That was an interesting thread and what's funny is that Astrid's post right below yours shows the ring anomaly I was alluding to.
Aspen, great video. At the 4:35 mark it shows some photos of a contraption that looks like it would make the patterns I see in the radar above. Then for just a split second at the 16:07 mark shows another similar pattern.

Nothing abnormal in the doppler pics

I live about an hour from Morristown....and have been right next to the doppler weather dome

There are other similar ...but not as large doppler domes in east tn...one on the tv tower on sharps ridge.

the 'rays' are simply materials or tower interference Tower in the case of the tv weather system and the internal support to stiffen the plastic dome in the Morristown instance

They have described it several times on the weather when it shows up greatly

Usually software can filter it out...but when there is a bigger change in density of rain in the clouds, it will sometimes show up

Gittarpikk: Thanks for this. The only thing I would say is that if this is what is causing the radar anomalies I'm seeing, I would expect to see these patterns in every system that passes through the area in question. I don't. It was 20 days prior that I saw the last anomaly in this area (I look every day). The above dome is probably something that stays on all the time, right? If we expand this a bit, if this was a normal event from radar towers, we would see the same patterns throughout the country in every system, every time. We don't. This tells me this is a phenomenon that is being turned on and off at various locations for different reasons.
