RT equated to ISIS for ‘daring to advocate a point of view’

Following comments from the US overseas broadcasting chief listing RT as a challenge alongside the Islamic State and Boko Haram, critics said the outlet was singled out for “daring to advocate a point of view,” as well as for “competing for viewership.”

“We are facing a number of challenges from entities like Russia Today which is out there pushing a point of view, the Islamic State in the Middle East and groups like Boko Haram,” he said. “But I firmly believe that this agency has a role to play in facing those challenges.”

-Quote from new U.S. Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) Chief, Andrew Lack.

It is not the first time that RT has been attacked by US officials. Last year, US Secretary of State John Kerry lashed out at RT calling it a “propaganda bullhorn.”

Its typical they cannot control it so they have to attack it.

I was listening to Sean Stone on Fade to Black last night
and he said Tyrel Ventura was a producer on RT and
Jesse his father and former CNN stalwart Larry King.
and other very good journalist/reporter are at present
on the network so yes the mainstream should be worried
and 'The Empire Will Strike Back' .....Rt maywell have
its own agendas but all media does.

In the past if you were dropped by mainstream for whatever reason
it was hard to get your message out. RT and other news out lets
threatened the media monopoly of older outlets .

What's worrisome is that according to the Patriot Act, "spreading propaganda" can now be considered an illegal act and threat to National Security. Comments like these against RT sure look like they're being said to begin the labeling process!

Thanks for the info on Tyrell Ventura. Had wondered why no longer on Buzzsaw. We need more Sean Stone's, Tyrell Ventura's, Abby Martin's and Tom Hartmann's in this world. They have the REAL cajones IMO.

Challenges for America: ISIS, Boko Haram and… Russia Today?!

January 23, 2015 By Stuart Hooper 8 Comments

21st Century Wire says…

‘According the new chief of the U.S. Broadcasting Board of Governors,
Andrew Lack, news outlet Russia Today (RT) represents a challenge for
America similar to that posed by terrorist organisations.

He stated that “we are facing a number of challenges from entities like
Russia Today which is out there pushing a point of view, the Islamic
State in the Middle East and groups like Boko Haram”. The nonchalant
attitude expressed here represents a growing disconnect between the
Western media and their consumers.

US AFRICOM nalysis suggests that Boko Haram may be beneficial, not
challenging, for America if certain warmongers get their way. Moreover,
if ISIS are a challenge for America, why is the U.S. arming them;
particularly as it is now known there are no moderates left in Syria?’

Yeah, the west supports a dictatorial absolute monarch like King Abdullah, yet compares RT to terrorist organizations that by the way, they just happened to help create with his help.

The irony is unbelievable,

RT.com is excellent. So is vetranstoday.com.
These sites offer stories and perspectives not available on MSM.
I see these sites as an antidote to the lies and manipulation of MSM.
I keep wondering if these site are part of the greater 'awakening'.

Anyone that has seen any of my posts regarding the mainstream media knows that I have no time whatsoever for them. They lie by omission, the slant and distort the truth and consciously lie.
Don't get me wrong I watch RT and Fox reports because they have a different viewpoint on "their" truth. They often report stuff that the liberal mainstream media will not report. But it is important that we understand that RT is a government agency, owned, operated, funded and agenda driven by the Russian government.

What I find particularly abhorrent about them is they frequently act like they are alternative media or a small media outlet. They are no different than western media outlets and in many cases worse, they also lie by omission and are often out and out dishonest.

Don't fool yourself, RT is more mainstream media than most mainstream media. RT broadcast through 30 satellite and 500 cable operators to 550 million people in over 100 countries. RT has over 2 million viewers in the United Kingdom and has rivaled Al Jazeera as the most popular English-speaking foreign channel in Britain. RT America is available to 85 million people in the United States. It is the second most-watched foreign news channel in the U.S. after BBC News. It is the number one foreign station in five U.S. urban areas.

All that being said I see nothing wrong with the videos in the original post.....it is simply the pot calling the kettle black.

Seeing Larry King on RT is quite chilling and it also reveals that RT is coin of a concept to collect non MSM beliver sheeples and spoonfed them like they are used to ... this concept will work for a lot of people because the majority still belives someone will tell them the truh.

The truth will never be televised you have to find it yourself.

In my opinion Larry King is a well informed insider and part of the system seeing him on RT shows that theh fear to lose the people to the internet so better lose them to a another form of MSM that can easy be co trolled and hijacked.

Agreed as I have said before I look at all media I like RT for its easy access and
being the new kid on the block and are open to more modern methods especially
on the web. I look at the BBC web page often and though establishment to the core
will put most stories up , not necessarily on the headline page, Channell 4 used
to be good on a few subjects but there web page is very slow. David Icke tends to
find a lot of the daily headline news from other independent and the newspapers
sources we tend to look at . The problem this is the first time US/UK media has
been challenged , look at the Ukraine story they cannot monopolise all the news
coverage they were able to a few years ago when they helped get us to attack Iraq
and Afghanistan. It was shown last year with the UK parliament voting against
direct involvement in Syria. The west were loosing the media war , hense Paris ,
MH370 and probably more false flags to scare us back into line.................

RT has its agendas like all news outlets but at the moment is giving some balance imo....
