If you do not understand people, how does that affect your relationships? If you take a stand for gender issues without understanding, how do you know that your stand is correct? If you are unaware of double standards, can you accurately assess the societal advantages and disadvantages of each sex? If you are an egalitarian, yet are unaware of factors that inhibit equality, can you really promote equality? Or rather, will your well-meaning efforts actually promote greater inequality?
