Well, this trick is performed by a lot of magicians, so it must come from something they practice. As interesting as this is, I still wonder if I got anything out of this. I just don't trust a guy who calls himself Special Head. I rarely entertain anything with Howard Stern in it either, who despite being obnoxious gains favor from Americans everywhere. Am I in the twilight zone? Maybe.

It's easy to be fooled by this, but it's just an illusion. The obvious hint is the cane. This is a trick that many street performers use, and is actually a combination of balance, trickery, and an internal mechanism that is hidden in their robe and cane. Without a robe to conceal the seat mechanism, and without the cane to anchor to the floor, it doesn't work.

It is Satan's powers that make "magicians" float and do card tricks and other illusions -- its all "Satan and demons". Trust me -- someone posted a "before its news" article here explaining it all ...

Does anyone like puzzles?

A heart stopping performance by Darcy Oake. It's an escape, but I thought surely there must be a way out.

Maybe there's a mechanism that can be activated by an assistant to release him in time, if he's not going to make it - nope, he cuts it too fine.
The jaws are rubber - nope, the teeth don't bend when they clash as they close.
The bar he is suspended from is at the back of the structure, allowing him to arch back, out of the way of the closing jaws - no, it's in the centre.

The design does allow him a way out if he knows he won't get the jacket off in time, can you pick it? There's also clues that point towards the situation not being all it seems but I'm not certain.

Performance begins at 1:35.

Somewhere on the web/youtube is a clip taken from a factory hidden/ctv of a night worker, who suddenly starts levitating down along a hallway.
I will try to find it, maybe/hopefully someone has the clip?

Most probable a trick (No 0,0 ) but there is something strange about it all, other than the levitating bit that is?
What do you think?
I have had many dreams where I cross my arms and slowly levitate along a few inches off the ground, just like this vid!

I levitate and fly a lot in my dreams -- I am now fairly well practiced at it in "dreamland" ;) It seems like I should be able to in "real land" as well, but I feel silly every time I try, lol!

I think the guy in the video is hopping (look at his foot placement just before he starts "levitating" - that is indicative of two foot hopping)at the exact same interval as the cameras frame rate - about 1 frame per second. A bit odd if accidental, but could have been planned, knowing the security camera is only recording 1 fps. I think only a couple tries would be needed to get it to work.

It's a simple trick performed by street magicians all the time, as someone pointed out.

..and the video above of the guy levitating on security cam footage... it takes a still shot every few seconds. He's having fun with it, by jumping up at the right moment so it only catches him in the air.

C'mon people! The term "I want to believe" springs to mind.

Yup that's probably it DeDukshyn
But even so, the guys head and shoulders are also very well placed after each jump, I would have thought more of an inconsistent movement would be the result?

But yes as well 'A lot of wishful thinking from me ;)

I will try real life timing between frames to levitate hehe,

PS: I would like to have seen the security guards face on play back of the film, I bet he really did levitate ha 0,0

I'd say he practiced it a couple times ;) There is one frame where his arm is suddenly somewhere completely weird if he was "levitating" but looks normal if you consider he is jumping. Because there's only about 1 frame per second, your brain has to "imagine" the rest for it to be perceived as a video; and if the expectation is that he is levitating, the brain fills in those frames to align to your expectation, allowing for small variations in his jump height to go unnoticed.

That hate figure of the alternative forums 'The Amazing Randi' always said that it's no good asking the public or even scientists to examine a 'paranormal' event. He's said often enough that the only way to get to the truth is to let magicians observe it to tell you how it's done. So I reckon only then, if they don't know or can't reproduce it, should other more exotic avenues be explored.

I've seen a wine bottle go through a table in a pub. I know it didn't and I know it was a trick. But if I was 'hard of thinking' it would be proof enough to me of absolute magic and proof of the paranormal!

I've seen a wine bottle go through a table in a pub. I know it didn't and I know it was a trick. ...

:P But here you are believing in something that "defied" all your senses with absolutely no proof. :P It's a bit amusing ... In order to not believe in the "paranormal" you have to exercise the exact same logic that cause people to believe in it ... I just find it interesting.

Like the atheist that thinks that "they don't have the 'belief' of God therefore they re the control ... but when properly broken down, an atheist has to employ the exact same logic that a believer has to - "to believe in something impossible to prove"

No offence, I'm not picking on you at all Nick (you know I'd just tell you if I was - I've done it before ;)), it is just a general observation on how sometimes logic is illogical, or, accepted for some things but not others, even when the base logic is identical. Twists the brain a bit to think about.
