I wanted to show you guys something SO awful and funny. I've got a cold this morning, so I'm sitting here over coffee with my nose running, but there was a detail in the news this week that just canNOT be wasted here.

So some of you know I'm a comics fan, i.e. a 31 year old person who reads picture books. They're in every room of the house. Anyhow.
A couple years back, we were second handing. Meaning we go from used store to used store picking up other people's rubbish and taking it home.
We picked up a Hellblazer volume, which is a DC Universe John Constantine book. A collection of comic stories related to the world of Hellblazer.
John Constantine is a punky British mystic who is both blessed and cursed with the ability to see and commune with ghosts and demons. He also smokes a lot of cigarettes and goes about with unwashed hair.
Well there was a detail in one of the stories that seems to have spilled over into reality, lmao.
"THE CHELSEA SMILERS"
http://hellblazer.wikia.com/wiki/Lady_Lazarus#Lady_Lazarus
Deceased ~ The Chelsea Smilers were an urban myth brought to life: psychotic football fans who'd carve a smile into the faces of non-Chelsea fans with straight razors.
They came to life after the stray thoughts of thousands of people allowed them physical presence. Map, with the aid of John Constantine, was able to divorce them from reality forever, dooming them to non-existance.
Only appearance: Hellblazer issue 238
Now, lots of people here on PA said, "Don't bother watching the Super Bowl this year because it just lends your energy to the demonic" -- lots of us went silent, or just pish posh I wanna watch the halftime show, etc., even some of those of us who are practicing occultists or whatever ignored the better judgment of some of the PA folks who told us to steer clear.
Well, it just so happens, in addition to the Egypt incident (the recent football related trampling), there's been some stuff in England and France that truly boggles the civilized mind.

That said though, there is something incredibly unsatisfying about having Nergal create this demonic abomination out of four street thugs only to have it tear itself apart when Constantine points out the conflict between the opposing Chelsea and Arsenal tattoos on the monsters arms.
The Damnation Army

Constantine notices one of the arms has a tattoo supporting the football club Arsenal, while another has a tattoo for Chelsea, and tricks the Monster into literally ripping itself apart over this, it is a wonderful scene of irony when remembering the opening of the issue which had the British Boys putting that difference aside in favor of a greater common enemy.
I'm not sure whether to ask you people to laugh, pray, or what.
