FAT CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG: Evidence has now been made public of illegal actions and collusion between former California Public Utilities Commission president Michael Peevey and utility PG&E, as criminal investigations continue.

As part of a federal and state investigation into what appears to be systemic corruption involving former senior executives at PG&E and the California Public Utilities Commission, 65,000 emails have been publicly released, revealing collusion and conspiracy.

Former commission president Michael Peevey and former PG&E Vice President Brian Cherry are wishing investigators would have been kept in the dark. The pair privately discussed problems with so-called “smart” meters, violating their own rules of procedure while admitting to health harm and overbilling problems – which several thousand Californians had been warning about since 2008.

Details continue to surface, as press and researchers continue to delve into the mountain of collusion.

It is perhaps justly ironic that we now see, made public, the private email correspondence of those who have teamed up to deploy technology which, according to a 2012 US Congressional Research report, facilitates unprecedented in-home surveillance.

Here are some highlights from their correspondence:

1) Peevey knew – since 2010 – that “smart” meters can cause physical harm.

And he believed PG&E should do something about it, albeit “quietly”. However, instead of regulating the utility to ensure public safety, he deferred his lawful duty to PG&E – the entity causing the harm.

From a 2010 email:

“Peevey wanted PG&E to keep it quiet,” writes Sandi Maurer, Director of the EMF Safety Network. “He didn’t want other customers, or the rest of the world to know there’s a problem with smart meters causing customers pain.”

2) Peevey said after a “smart” meter was installed on his vacation home, his bill more than doubled.

Sunday’s LA Times reported this one. “Obviously something is wrong,” Peevey wrote to Cherry in 2011. “I would like an explanation.”

PG&E reacted immediately to perform a “deep dive investigation” into the billing situation at the 3,118-square-foot Sea Ranch home on the Northern California coast.

There have been tens of thousands of billing complaints in California, revealing a widespread, systemic overbilling problem which appears to be the case everywhere “smart” meters are installed.

3) Peevey and Cherry colluded to permanently delay hearings until the “smart” meter rollout was completed.

As noted in EMF Safety Network’s January 22 appeal for rehearing, an email from Cherry to Tom Bottorff – a senior VP who left in disgrace but received $1.1M in severance pay – outlines the CPUC conspiracy to delay “smart” meter hearings until all “smart” meters had already been installed:

“Mike [Peevey, the CPUC president] grumbled about the CCSF PFM [City and County of San Francisco Petition for Modification] and the folks in Sebastopool [sic] who want to delay SmartMeter implementation. He implied that this wasn’t going to happen and that by the time the Commission got around to acting on it, we would have installed all of our meters.”

In fact, not all of the “smart” meters have been installed in California – as thousands of customers have refused and 57 local governments don’t want them – and there are now obvious issues with those that were installed.

Thanks to multi-year efforts of advocate groups like EMF Safety Network and StopSmartMeters!, the cat is now out of the bag as to how dangerous and corrupt the grand plans of people like Michael Peevey have been. The CPUC and PG&E knew that people were being harmed and they colluded to silence the truth.

The story continues to unfold

We encourage you to stay tuned as more revelations come out by the day. With the judge-shopping scandal, ex-Commissioner Peevey’s home computers, hard drives and smart phones were seized in January by investigators. This has already led to more evidence of collusion in the multi-billion dollar bailout of the San Onofre nuclear power plant in 2013.

As utility and political leaders from around the country toasted Michael Peevey last night on a “job well done”, truth advocates will continue to sift through emails. We can only guess what will be revealed in the coming months. However, it appears that it won’t be a comfortable retirement for those who broke their own rules and brushed aside safety in order to push through the multi-billion dollar boondoggle that is the wireless “smart” grid.

Ok, so smart meters have the ability/potential to damage our DNA.

That is definitely a concern, but...

What about the mobile phones people are carrying around with them all day long in their pockets and handbags?

What about the people who use their mobile phones as alarm clocks and charge them on their bedside tables (right next to their HEADS!) while sleeping every night?

What about the people who have wireless routers in their homes and leave them running 24/7?

What about the myriad of other wireless devices people are using in their homes practically 24/7 nowadays: tablets, laptops, gaming consoles, MP3 players, wireless mouse/keyboard/printer/headphones, etc?

Shouldn't people be more concerned about all these other devices which they are in constant close proximity to throughout the day/night?

Wouldn't these devices (and situations) pose a far greater risk to people's health than a smart meter which is hooked up to a power box somewhere out in their front yard (or other location outside their home)?

Seems to me that most people living in large towns and cities nowadays are pretty much being bombarded with a huge variety of EMF's regardless of whether they have a smart meter or not.

So at the end of the day, how much worse could a smart meter be than a device like a mobile phone which some people keep within 1-2 meters of their body pretty much constantly throughout their day/night?

Personally, I doubt that smart meters pose any more of a threat to people's health than any other wireless device they might be exposed to.

In fact, I'd say the majority of people out there should be far more worried about the damage being done to them by their mobile phones, microwave ovens, and wireless routers than the smart meter in the power box next to their garage.

Yes, I agree that mobile phones, computers etc. are causing great harm

You ask how much worse could a smart meter be?

Well the people who have come forward were forced to leave their homes due to bad health which only came about after the smart meters were installed

Many fires have been caused by these meters, even an engineer testified that they were a known fire risk

The point of warning people about smart meters is that they have not been rolled out everywhere, there is still time to protest to having them installed in the first place

I would like to add my thanks to multi-year efforts of advocate groups like EMF Safety Network and StopSmartMeters, keep up the good work

Great thread, and thank you halffull. These corrupt people in charge of public safety, like the man in the video near the end who talked directly to the commissioner about how he should be prosecuted for illegal acts, are shameless. I found it nearly hilarious (if it weren't so pernicious) in the email about those darned people in Sebastopol (where I live) who objected to smart meters. A woman a few houses away started and organized resistance, information campaign, and door to door face to face interactions in our area. My wife and I talked to her and her husband several times, and found them to be wonderful, awake, aware and caring people. They have had to move away in search of a non polluted living environment. We 'opted' out of this insane smart meter rollout in our area, which means we have to pay extra on our bill each month! We installed signs on the old style meters saying No Smartmeter! There are signs up in the neighborhood all around saying 'Refuse Smartmeters'. Looks like we had more effect than we realized. (A good example of grass roots efforts being able to effect change.) They have rolled this over the top of everyone as quickly as possible in spite of extensive tests in San Francisco showing damage just like described in the video.

A friend of mine owns apartment buildings and they have whole banks of smart meters right up against bedroom walls where children sleep. These devices have very sophisticated intrusive ways of monitoring occupants every detail and they can piggyback other programs onto their frequency in pulses. Each small area has a stronger device which gathers the local signals and pulses it to the local utility. (PG&E in this case) Can we say NEFARIOUS?

I think somewhere on this forum I posted my experience of my lack of sleep after a smart meter was put in. I had it removed. My sleep came back. This issue has so many sides to it. Payments irregularities, health issues, privacy issues. I am not anti-electronic but when I see people on their cell-phones constantly. To some it has become an addiction. The good thing is in Cali you can op-out but many people do not know that the big picture is not pretty. great video many thanks for posting.
If the grid goes down some people are going to breath a sigh of relief while others will go through withdrawls, I plan to be in the former and not the later.
