View Full Version : Closely Inspect Every Glass You Use

Just giving a fair word of advice to always inspect the glass you are about to fill with liquid or drink from. I have found some nasty things in some glasses, or chemicals left over from the dishwasher at times.
This should be done with all plates and silverware too IMHO. I have always done this, I have always been a pretty uberly aware person of what I put into my body, but for those who may not do this, I wouldn't want to see you suffer consequences from chemicals or something else consumed when it could be avoided....
So just a heads up :)

Thanks.
Particularly Restaurants.
If you have ever used a glass washer, you know the kind of detergent filled sludge emulsion that sits in there and fine coats the glasses sometimes. Its not so much Bacteria, rather chemicals!

Absolutely, always thoroughly rinse off detergents which strip grease from your plates, imagine what they do to your stomach?

Since I'm a follower of Hormesis (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?53597-Hormesis-Healing-Yourself-with-Low-Dose-Radiation) (and MAN, talk about freeing! once you realize that Toxicity is dose dependent & that Hormesis (aka everything in moderation) works with everything it alleviates a lot of stresses) I've had a lot less to worry about, or inspect and re-wash (hell I hardly "wash" in the first place anymore).
So I've changed my life quite a bit since researching and learning (it seems that every area of my life I put in due diligence and solid (as objective as possible) research causes a change in my life) I don't really wear shoes except to goto public or walk in areas I know to have sharp things on the ground, I shower a LOT less, I don't worry so much about "clean" ever... unless it's for appearances (social pressure) or wounds, "clean" doesn't mix well with the natural order of things).
Anyway, I say that to preface this:
Maybe you don't need to worry about it, those "chemicals" are usually just collections of natural substances that when taken in moderation are actually good for you (you could say this about everything in reality really). and honestly most of those "chemicals" are just mineral build ups since soaps don't bond to minerals like it does to fats and oils.
Thanks.

no, those are mostly mineral build ups.
I was into water purification back when distillers were all the rage, I could distill rocks out of tapwater (well, you could collect the minerals and let it dry into a rock shape... haha) most "city" water has minerals added to it as h20 by itself is not best.

Translucent poisons on clear glass, dissolving as the liquid is poured? I think that's how they got the Putin whistleblower in UK/England w/isotopes.
I'll just have to pay attention and continue to be careful.
Everyone that needs to be, please continue to be careful.;)

Yeah a bit to late, I think thats how I got sick starting last Sunday , had 2 drinks out of cocktail glasses at a restaurant, big mistake. Mild grade fever for 5 days , ect. ect. kicked my butt. I'm sure I got it from that glass.

Beautigul post TargeT, I'm super into that philosophy already(everything in moderation). However I disagree that dishwasher soap buildup or the chemical buildup on glasses and plates found from bar and restaurants is good for you.

yes that would be a difficult one to work out... haha (but I'm always up for a challenge.... haha; according to my theory I should be able to show the health benefits of any substance; and I have done it with a few things, radiation, cyanide etc..)

I like, and don't like research papers like this; I think holistically we are "so screwed", our systems so overloaded with substances (overloaded = toxicity... that's just how excess works, it becomes toxic) I'd have a real hard time pointing at anyone thing and saying "There, fix that and it's all better!".
so while I agree with you, I also disagree to this extent: focusing on parts of the system and not the whole CAN be a bad idea if done in excess (haha, there it is again, excess = toxic, aka bad).
so, I guess, check your glasses; but don't let it become a problem in itself (the checking can spill over to paranoia).
I think my attempt at a cautionary post was a little too polarized ;).

Thank you for this Omniverse !
Personally what I do when I wash the dishes is I put half water in the sink and after washing a dish or glass or utensil, I rinse it under the water and put it to dry.
Rinsing the soap is very important!
U P D A T E .......
Also what I do for cleanning my surface in the kitchen is I use half vinaigre and half water with litle bit of essantial oil and couple of drops of liquid soap.

I loged over 2,000,000 miles as a long haul trucker eatin in some really "greasy spoon" type places over the years (and yep. some even had greasy spoons, but I just wiped'em off. cc) and I ain't dead. Now just me here at home I scrub the big chunks off and rinse them a bit... and I still ain't dead. Cuz I learned long time ago that the only thing that will make us sick... is our "Mind". The only reason those drugs you buy at the Pharmacy cure you, is because your "Mind" believes it will because your Doctor said so. These bodies were designed to injest "Anything" put into them. yep. uh-huh. were. Go to any back world country and eat what they eat and it will make you sick. Why don't it make them sick? Because they "Know" it won't.
Wus sittin in a little... (really greasy spoon) and ordered breakfast. This place wuz a bout a block and a half down the street from a "Major" stock-yard. yep. My breakfast came and the battle for the food on my plate became major to say the least.
!-Flies-! Bunches of them. Bunch on my arms and on my food, and while I was nonchallantly shooin the little critters away, said out loud to the waitress whose station was right in front of me and while she was there, in my rather loud voice that I like to use in such discreet situations: "You know, it's a wonder, what with that stock-yard right down the street and all, that y'all don't have any "Flies" in this place." She just turned to give me one of those "Looks" ya get, while the whole place exploaded in laughter. She just turned to give me her... "Look". I noticed right under her name, on her tag... it said: Manager. ccc
Y'all just gotta lighten up and have fun with this here Physicality thingy.
Keep yer MIND right and ya won't get sick...
If ya don't never eat a bunch of weird stuff... how ya gonna ever build a really tough
Immune System??? ccc. :wizard:
Certainly I won the battle for my food, I fixed'em good. Flies don't like tobasco sauce... ccc.

I feel the safest to drink with straw when I'm outside , unless it's hot drinks of course .
I actually like it more too. Interesting that you mention it Omni, there's a habit in India never to touch the edge of your glass ( they use stainless steel cups a lot ) with your lips, it requires skill and some training but basically, you're expected to hold the cup in the air and pour the content in slow stream to your mouth .
It's quite fun especially for beginner .
Not using dishwasher - it would be waste of money for a 'singularity' , and there are now some good but biodegradable washing detergents , like these :
http://us.ecover.com
They are gentle to skin and smell nicely too.
