So, the dust has settled and the report is out:

The Ferguson police department and justice system really is racist.
This investigation and its findings would never have happened without the people on the streets, I’d like to shake all their hands. And, if Michael Brown hadn’t died, this truth also would not have been brought to light for those who couldn’t already see it, so at least something positive came out of his death and I hope his family finds some comfort in that.
Where are the people who were defending the Ferguson police? Where are the people who said the protests weren’t justified? They are giving a repeat performance of the disappearing act that they did after George Zimmerman showed his true colours.
It would be naive to think that Ferguson is an isolated case, I’d like to see this kind of audit done wherever there is cause to think that racist policing is going on. It’d probably he half of America, but it needs to be done. According to Wikipedia a black American born in 1991 has a 29% chance of going to prison. It shouldn’t be that way and auditing these institutions will be an essential part in defeating that statistic for both direct and indirect reasons.
