Nations All Over the World CONFESS to Carrying Out False Flag Terrorism

There are many documented false flag attacks, where a government carries out a terror attack … and then falsely blames its enemy for political purposes.

In the following 54 instances, officials in the government which carried out the attack (or seriously proposed an attack) admit to it, either orally or in writing:

(1) Japanese troops set off a small explosion on a train track in 1931, and falsely blamed it on China in order to justify an invasion of Manchuria. This is known as the “Mukden Incident” or the “Manchurian Incident”. The Tokyo International Military Tribunal found: “Several of the participators in the plan, including Hashimoto [a high-ranking Japanese army officer], have on various occasions admitted their part in the plot and have stated that the object of the ‘Incident’ was to afford an excuse for the occupation of Manchuria by the Kwantung Army ….” And see this.

(2) A major with the Nazi SS admitted at the Nuremberg trials that – under orders from the chief of the Gestapo – he and some other Nazi operatives faked attacks on their own people and resources which they blamed on the Poles, to justify the invasion of Poland.

(3) Nazi general Franz Halder also testified at the Nuremberg trials that Nazi leader Hermann Goering admitted to setting fire to the German parliament building in 1933, and then falsely blaming the communists for the arson.

(4) Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev admitted in writing that the Soviet Union’s Red Army shelled the Russian village of Mainila in 1939 – while blaming the attack on Finland – as a basis for launching the “Winter War” against Finland. Russian president Boris Yeltsin agreed that Russia had been the aggressor in the Winter War.

(5) The Russian Parliament, current Russian president Putin and former Soviet leader Gorbachev all admit that Soviet leader Joseph Stalin ordered his secret police to execute 22,000 Polish army officers and civilians in 1940, and then falsely blamed it on the Nazis.

(6) The British government admits that – between 1946 and 1948 – it bombed 5 ships carrying Jews attempting to flee the Holocaust to seek safety in Palestine, set up a fake group called “Defenders of Arab Palestine”, and then had the psuedo-group falsely claim responsibility for the bombings (and see this, this and this).

(7) Israel admits that in 1954, an Israeli terrorist cell operating in Egypt planted bombs in several buildings, including U.S. diplomatic facilities, then left behind “evidence” implicating the Arabs as the culprits (one of the bombs detonated prematurely, allowing the Egyptians to identify the bombers, and several of the Israelis later confessed) (and see this and this).

(8) The CIA admits that it hired Iranians in the 1950′s to pose as Communists and stage bombings in Iran in order to turn the country against its democratically-elected prime minister.

(9) The Turkish Prime Minister admitted that the Turkish government carried out the 1955 bombing on a Turkish consulate in Greece – also damaging the nearby birthplace of the founder of modern Turkey – and blamed it on Greece, for the purpose of inciting and justifying anti-Greek violence.

(10) The British Prime Minister admitted to his defense secretary that he and American president Dwight Eisenhower approved a plan in 1957 to carry out attacks in Syria and blame it on the Syrian government as a way to effect regime change.

(11-21) The former Italian Prime Minister, an Italian judge, and the former head of Italian counterintelligence admit that NATO, with the help of the Pentagon and CIA, carried out terror bombings in Italy and other European countries in the 1950s and blamed the communists, in order to rally people’s support for their governments in Europe in their fight against communism. As one participant in this formerly-secret program stated: “You had to attack civilians, people, women, children, innocent people, unknown people far removed from any political game. The reason was quite simple. They were supposed to force these people, the Italian public, to turn to the state to ask for greater security” (and see this) (Italy and other European countries subject to the terror campaign had joined NATO before the bombings occurred). And watch this BBC special. They also allegedly carried out terror attacks in France, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, the UK, and other countries.

False flag attacks carried out pursuant tho this program include – by way of example only (and depending on how you count them):

(11) the murder of the Turkish Prime Minister (1960)

(12) bombings in Portugal (1966)

(13) the Piazza Fontana massacre in Italy (1969)

(14) terror attacks in Turkey (1971)

(15) the Peteano bombing in Italy (1972)

(16) shootings in Brescia, Italy and a bombing on an Italian train (1974)

(17) shootings in Istanbul, Turkey (1977)

(18) the Atocha massacre in Madrid, Spain (1977)

(19) the abduction and murder of the Italian Prime Minister (1978)

(20) the bombing of the Bologna railway station in Italy (1980)

(21) shooting and killing 28 shoppers in Brabant county, Belgium (1985)

(22) In 1960, American Senator George Smathers suggested that the U.S. launch “a false attack made on Guantanamo Bay which would give us the excuse of actually fomenting a fight which would then give us the excuse to go in and [overthrow Castro]“.

(23) Official State Department documents show that, in 1961, the head of the Joint Chiefs and other high-level officials discussed blowing up a consulate in the Dominican Republic in order to justify an invasion of that country. The plans were not carried out, but they were all discussed as serious proposals.

(24) As admitted by the U.S. government, recently declassified documents show that in 1962, the American Joint Chiefs of Staff signed off on a plan to blow up AMERICAN airplanes (using an elaborate plan involving the switching of airplanes), and also to commit terrorist acts on American soil, and then to blame it on the Cubans in order to justify an invasion of Cuba. (25) In 1963, the U.S. Department of Defense wrote a paper promoting attacks on nations within the Organization of American States – such as Trinidad-Tobago or Jamaica – and then falsely blaming them on Cuba.

(26) The U.S. Department of Defense even suggested covertly paying a person in the Castro government to attack the United States: “The only area remaining for consideration then would be to bribe one of Castro’s subordinate commanders to initiate an attack on Guantanamo.”

(27) The NSA admits that it lied about what really happened in the Gulf of Tonkin incident in 1964 … manipulating data to make it look like North Vietnamese boats fired on a U.S. ship so as to create a false justification for the Vietnam war.

(28) A U.S. Congressional committee admitted that – as part of its “Cointelpro” campaign – the FBI had used many provocateurs in the 1950s through 1970s to carry out violent acts and falsely blame them on political activists.

(29) A top Turkish general admitted that Turkish forces burned down a mosque on Cyprus in the 1970s and blamed it on their enemy. He explained: “In Special War, certain acts of sabotage are staged and blamed on the enemy to increase public resistance. We did this on Cyprus; we even burnt down a mosque.” In response to the surprised correspondent’s incredulous look the general said, “I am giving an example”.

(30) The German government admitted (and see this) that, in 1978, the German secret service detonated a bomb in the outer wall of a prison and planted “escape tools” on a prisoner – a member of the Red Army Faction – which the secret service wished to frame the bombing on.

(31) A Mossad agent admits that, in 1984, Mossad planted a radio transmitter in Gaddaffi’s compound in Tripoli, Libya which broadcast fake terrorist trasmissions recorded by Mossad, in order to frame Gaddaffi as a terrorist supporter. Ronald Reagan bombed Libya immediately thereafter.

(32) The South African Truth and Reconciliation Council found that, in 1989, the Civil Cooperation Bureau (a covert branch of the South African Defense Force) approached an explosives expert and asked him “to participate in an operation aimed at discrediting the ANC [the African National Congress] by bombing the police vehicle of the investigating officer into the murder incident”, thus framing the ANC for the bombing.

(33) An Algerian diplomat and several officers in the Algerian army admit that, in the 1990s, the Algerian army frequently massacred Algerian civilians and then blamed Islamic militants for the killings (and see this video; and Agence France-Presse, 9/27/2002, French Court Dismisses Algerian Defamation Suit Against Author).

(34) The United States Army’s 1994 publication Special Forces Foreign Internal Defense Tactics Techniques and Procedures for Special Forces – updated in 2004 – recommends employing terrorists and using false flag operations to destabilize leftist regimes in Latin America. False flag terrorist attacks were carried out in Latin America and other regions as part of the CIA’s “Dirty Wars“. And see this.

(35) Similarly, a CIA “psychological operations” manual prepared by a CIA contractor for the Nicaraguan Contra rebels noted the value of assassinating someone on your own side to create a “martyr” for the cause. The manual was authenticated by the U.S. government. The manual received so much publicity from Associated Press, Washington Post and other news coverage that – during the 1984 presidential debate – President Reagan was confronted with the following question on national television:

At this moment, we are confronted with the extraordinary story of a CIA guerrilla manual for the anti-Sandinista contras whom we are backing, which advocates not only assassinations of Sandinistas but the hiring of criminals to assassinate the guerrillas we are supporting in order to create martyrs.

(36) An Indonesian fact-finding team investigated violent riots which occurred in 1998, and determined that “elements of the military had been involved in the riots, some of which were deliberately provoked”.

(37) Senior Russian Senior military and intelligence officers admit that the KGB blew up Russian apartment buildings in 1999 and falsely blamed it on Chechens, in order to justify an invasion of Chechnya (and see this report and this discussion).

(38) According to the Washington Post, Indonesian police admit that the Indonesian military killed American teachers in Papua in 2002 and blamed the murders on a Papuan separatist group in order to get that group listed as a terrorist organization.

(39) The well-respected former Indonesian president also admits that the government probably had a role in the Bali bombings.

(40) As reported by BBC, the New York Times, and Associated Press, Macedonian officials admit that the government murdered 7 innocent immigrants in cold blood and pretended that they were Al Qaeda soldiers attempting to assassinate Macedonian police, in order to join the “war on terror”.

(41) Senior police officials in Genoa, Italy admitted that – in July 2001, at the G8 summit in Genoa – planted two Molotov cocktails and faked the stabbing of a police officer, in order to justify a violent crackdown against protesters.

(42) The U.S. falsely blamed Iraq for playing a role in the 9/11 attacks – as shown by a memo from the defense secretary – as one of the main justifications for launching the Iraq war. Even after the 9/11 Commission admitted that there was no connection, Dick Cheney said that the evidence is “overwhelming” that al Qaeda had a relationship with Saddam Hussein’s regime, that Cheney “probably” had information unavailable to the Commission, and that the media was not ‘doing their homework’ in reporting such ties. Top U.S. government officials now admit that the Iraq war was really launched for oil … not 9/11 or weapons of mass destruction. Despite previous “lone wolf” claims, many U.S. government officials now say that 9/11 was state-sponsored terror; but Iraq was not the state which backed the hijackers. (Many U.S. officials have alleged that 9/11 was a false flag operation by rogue elements of the U.S. government.).

(43) Although the FBI now admits that the 2001 anthrax attacks were carried out by one or more U.S. government scientists, a senior FBI official says that the FBI was actually told to blame the Anthrax attacks on Al Qaeda by White House officials (remember what the anthrax letters looked like). Government officials also confirm that the white House tried to link the anthrax to Iraq as a justification for regime change in that country.

(44) Former Department of Justice lawyer John Yoo suggested in 2005 that the US should go on the offensive against al-Qaeda, having “our intelligence agencies create a false terrorist organization. It could have its own websites, recruitment centers, training camps, and fundraising operations. It could launch fake terrorist operations and claim credit for real terrorist strikes, helping to sow confusion within al-Qaeda’s ranks, causing operatives to doubt others’ identities and to question the validity of communications.”

(45) United Press International reported in June 2005:

U.S. intelligence officers are reporting that some of the insurgents in Iraq are using recent-model Beretta 92 pistols, but the pistols seem to have had their serial numbers erased. The numbers do not appear to have been physically removed; the pistols seem to have come off a production line without any serial numbers. Analysts suggest the lack of serial numbers indicates that the weapons were intended for intelligence operations or terrorist cells with substantial government backing. Analysts speculate that these guns are probably from either Mossad or the CIA. Analysts speculate that agent provocateurs may be using the untraceable weapons even as U.S. authorities use insurgent attacks against civilians as evidence of the illegitimacy of the resistance.

(46) Undercover Israeli soldiers admitted in 2005 to throwing stones at other Israeli soldiers so they could blame it on Palestinians, as an excuse to crack down on peaceful protests by the Palestinians.

(47) Quebec police admitted that, in 2007, thugs carrying rocks to a peaceful protest were actually undercover Quebec police officers (and see this).

(48) At the G20 protests in London in 2009, a British member of parliament saw plain clothes police officers attempting to incite the crowd to violence.

(49) Egyptian politicians admitted (and see this) that government employees looted priceless museum artifacts in 2011 to try to discredit the protesters.

(50) A Colombian army colonel has admitted that his unit murdered 57 civilians, then dressed them in uniforms and claimed they were rebels killed in combat.

(51) The highly-respected writer for the Telegraph Ambrose Evans-Pritchard says that the head of Saudi intelligence – Prince Bandar – recently admitted that the Saudi government controls “Chechen” terrorists.

(52) High-level American sources admitted that the Turkish government – a fellow NATO country – carried out the chemical weapons attacks blamed on the Syrian government; and high-ranking Turkish government admitted on tape plans to carry out attacks and blame it on the Syrian government.

(53) The Ukrainian security chief admits that the sniper attacks which started the Ukrainian coup were carried out in order to frame others. Ukrainian officials admit that the Ukrainian snipers fired on both sides, to create maximum chaos.

(54) Britain’s spy agency has admitted (and see this) that it carries out “digital false flag” attacks on targets, framing people by writing offensive or unlawful material … and blaming it on the target.

So Common … There’s a Name for It

The use of the bully’s trick is so common that it was given a name hundreds of years ago.

“False flag terrorism” is defined as a government attacking its own people, then blaming others in order to justify going to war against the people it blames. Or as Wikipedia defines it:

False flag operations are covert operations conducted by governments, corporations, or other organizations, which are designed to appear as if they are being carried out by other entities. The name is derived from the military concept of flying false colors; that is, flying the flag of a country other than one’s own. False flag operations are not limited to war and counter-insurgency operations, and have been used in peace-time; for example, during Italy’s strategy of tension.

The term comes from the old days of wooden ships, when one ship would hang the flag of its enemy before attacking another ship. Because the enemy’s flag, instead of the flag of the real country of the attacking ship, was hung, it was called a “false flag” attack.

Indeed, this concept is so well-accepted that rules of engagement for naval, air and land warfare all prohibit false flag attacks. Specifically, the rules of engagement state that a military force can fly the enemy’s flag, imitate their markings, or dress in an enemy’s clothes … but that the ruse has to be discarded before attacking.

Why are the rules of engagement so specific? Obviously, because nations have been using false flag attacks for many centuries. And the rules of engagement are at least trying to limit false flag attacks so that they aren’t used as a false justification for war.

In other words, the rules of engagement themselves are an admission that false flag terrorism is a very common practice.

Government Infiltrates Terror Cells Time and Again … But Fails to Stop Attacks

It’s amazing how governments infiltrate terror cells time and again, but then fail to actually stop the attacks.

London

The Guardian noted on February 13th:

A remark from the sentencing judge that Babar “began co-operating even before his arrest”, has raised the possibility, supported by other circumstantial evidence obtained by the Guardian, that he may have been an informant for the US government before his detention by the FBI in April 2004.

Having reviewed the court transcript himself, bereaved father Graham Foulkes said: “There’s a hint from one or two of the sentences [in the transcript] that do strongly suggest co-operation was going well beyond his official arrest. And it looks as if the Americans may well have known in detail what Babar was up to in Pakistan [at the time] and that is a very, very serious matter.”

When judge Marrero’s office was asked to clarify the remarks, his office declined to comment. The US attorney’s office declined to comment on whether Babar had been working with US agencies before his arrest.

The law enforcement officer involved in Babar’s arrest and debriefing also refused to discuss the allegations.

Indeed, this short Fox news interview with terrorism expert and former prosecutor for the Justice Department shows that the bombing “mastermind” was a British intelligence agent (or read the transcript here). And see confirming story here.

An MSNBC translator confirms that claim of responsibility by Al-Qaeda was a fake. And see this regarding the unreliability of the translation.

This article from the Independent raises the question of whether attackers were “arrested and then released” while remaining under close observation by the government”.

Times Online reports that the police were “bugging” the car of the mastermind of the bombings.

And apparently Israel was warned ahead of the blasts (confirmed here).

Madrid

BBC reported in 2004:

The Spanish interior ministry says it is investigating reports that two suspects in the 11 March Madrid train bombings were police informants.

The move came after Spain’s El Mundo newspaper said Moroccan Rafa Zuher and Spaniard Jose Emilio Suarez had been in contact with police before the attacks.

The men are suspected of providing dynamite for the attacks, which killed 191 people and injured more than 2,000.

The paper said they passed on details about drug deals and other crimes.

New York: 1993

The FBI had penetrated the cell which carried out the 1993 world trade center bombing, but had — at the last minute — canceled the plan to have its FBI infiltrator substitute fake powder for real explosives, against the infiltrator’s strong wishes (summary version is free; full version is pay-per-view)?

The government had also infiltrated the 9/11 terror cell:

◾An FBI informant hosted and rented a room to two hijackers in 2000. Specifically, the Congressional Joint Inquiry discovered that an FBI informant had hosted and even rented a room to two hijackers in 2000. And see this Newsweek article and this New York Times report

◾According to the large French newspaper Le Monde, the intelligence services of America’s close ally France and of other governments had infiltrated the highest levels of Al-Qaeda’s camps, and actually listened to the hijackers’ debates about which airlines’ planes should be hijacked, and allied intelligence services also intercepted phone conversations between Al-Qaeda members regarding the attacks

◾According to journalist Christopher Ketcham, America’s close ally Israel tracked the hijackers’ every move prior to the attacks, and sent agents to film the attack on the World Trade Centers

◾The National Security Agency and the FBI were each independently listening in on the phone calls between the supposed mastermind of the attacks and the lead hijacker. Indeed, the FBI built its own antenna in Madagascar specifically to listen in on the mastermind’s phone calls

◾According to various sources, on the day before 9/11, the mastermind told the lead hijacker “tomorrow is zero hour” and gave final approval for the attacks. The NSA intercepted the message that day and the FBI was likely also monitoring the mastermind’s phone calls

◾Shortly before 9/11, the NSA also intercepted multiple phone calls to the United States from Bin Laden’s chief of operations

◾The CIA and the NSA had been intercepting phone calls by the hijackers for years (see also this)

◾According to the Sunday Herald, two days before 9/11, Bin Laden called his stepmother and told her “In two days, you’re going to hear big news and you’re not going to hear from me for a while.” U.S. officials later told CNN that “in recent years they’ve been able to monitor some of bin Laden’s telephone communications with his [step]mother. Bin Laden at the time was using a satellite telephone, and the signals were intercepted and sometimes recorded.” Indeed, before 9/11, to impress important visitors, NSA analysts would occasionally play audio tapes of bin Laden talking to his stepmother.

◾And according to CBS News, at 9:53 a.m on 9/11, just 15 minutes after the hijacked plane had hit the Pentagon, “the National Security Agency, which monitors communications worldwide, intercepted a phone call from one of Osama bin Laden’s operatives in Afghanistan to a phone number in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia”, and secretary of Defense Rumsfeld learned about the intercepted phone call in real-time (if the NSA monitored and transcribed phone calls in real-time on 9/11, that implies that it did so in the months leading up to 9/11 as well)

What About the Terror Arrests?

But what about the arrests which have been made of would-be terrorists? Doesn’t that show that governments do sometimes catch the bad guys?

Maybe … but:

◾Former counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke said:


A lot of the cases after 9/11 were manufactured or enormously exaggerated and were announced with great trumpets by the attorney general and the FBI director so that we felt that they were doing something when, in fact, what they were doing was not helpful, not relevant, not needed.

◾The Washington Post ran a story about one alleged threat entitled “Was it a terror sting or entrapment?“, showing that the U.S. government lent material support to the wanna-be terrorists, and put violent ideas in their heads

◾Raw Story reports that the alleged terrorist group that is alleged to have planned to blow up Chicago’s Sears Tower was non-violent before a government informant infiltrated the group and planted violent ideas in their heads

◾PBS’ Frontline ran a special report focusing on the the alleged Al Qaeda plot in Lodi, California, which showed — based upon interviews with top law enforcement officials involved in the case — that the bust amounted to little more than entrapment and coerced and fabricated confessions from two men who, in fact, had nothing to do with the terrorist group

◾There are numerous other instances of entrapment of peaceful or mentally incompetent people who are then arrested as “terrorists”. For example, the “mastermind” of the terrorism plot was a self-confessed “pothead” , another was a crackhead, and that they were all semi-retarded. And see this, this and this

So while there are a lot of loud announcements about catching terrorists, most of the convictions are optics without substance.

That our information involves deep parallels with the threats Shrimpton informed the British government of is no coincidence. We are of the belief that a series of EMP based weapons have been deployed within the US. Only weeks ago, we came upon intelligence indicating that a key part of 9/11 involved taking down America’s stock markets and banking system but destroying key junctions in Fort Lee, New Jersey, on the George Washington Bridge and in the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels using massive conventional explosives, some as truck bombs.

Our assumption is that, with what we now know to have been the failure of 9/11, Gore disgraced, Lieberman in the White House, war with Iran, Pakistan and Turkey in the same meltdown we are seeing in Libya, most of Africa and Asia in total collapse, our “friends” are going to try a shortcut. Intel is pouring in over the last 24 hours. “Intel” is another term for “unsubstantiated rumor,” we all have to admit that, particularly since the Bush/Blair years of lies and treason. However, withholding some material is irresponsible though it is impossible to identify an “authority” capable of understanding or dealing with threats against the United States.

We have a high probability that a coup is afoot in the United States and have strong reason to believe that one was attempted in Russia. When the Russian coup was stopped, good guess who planned to take over is now “out of the picture,” our NATO friends saw the writing on the wall.

Israeli intelligence is totally aware of all of this and, on this odd occasion, on the right side of the fence. We wish we could say that of others in Israel.

We have confirmation from Russia that they are moving against NATO and the US, economically at least, with huge inroads with China and other regional powers in the last 72 hours. America, or the America’s criminal cabals represent, is going to be frozen out of Asia for generations. Just because Fox News and InfoWars won’t report it doesn’t mean it isn’t true and, frankly, the best possible thing for the American people.

If anything happens to President Obama, look to this list as those responsible, or so we are told.

IRAN could return from 30 years of isolation from the end of this week with the United States and Europe set to clear obstacles to historically approve the Middle East country’s nuclear program and end crippling sanctions.

There was an air of optimism on the streets of the capital Tehran today that their diplomats led by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif may clinch a political deal that will phase out international sanctions that have hamstrung the country for more than three decades and still allow the nation to develop nuclear power.

The mood was buoyed after the US this week announced it would lift sanctions against a Belarusian energy firm, imposed in 2011 because it had become involved with Iran’s petroleum sector contrary to UN sanctions.

US Secretary of State John Kerry has a round of meetings with Mr Zarif in Switzerland from Monday to clear the way for later talks between the delegation from Iran and the six world powers including the US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany.

Mr Kerry said the next few days would be crucial to establish whether a framework is possible by a deadline of March 24 that would see Iran curb its nuclear program in exchange for the phasing out of sanctions.

Tehran has moved to ease concerns from the West that its uranium enrichment program was for anything other than energy and medical purposes and has offered to redesign its Arak reactor so its plutonium output decreases and so too its ability to produce atomic bombs.

“If it’s peaceful, let’s get it done and my hope is that in the next days that will be possible,” Mr Kerry said of Iran’s nuclear program.

Key will be agreement on measures to ensure compliance to any accord.

The US had initially suggested a nuclear accord would involve a long phase out of sanctions but it was now prepared to support a United Nations draft to ease the penalties against Iran a lot sooner.

Some sanctions were already lifted in 2013 after Tehran agreed not to expand its nukes program and since then negotiations have continued for a more permanent deal.

The White House further confirmed yesterday that any deal between the so-called P5+1 group of world powers and Iran would be subject to a vote by the UN Security Council which actually includes the P5+1 nations anyway.

The only other hurdle is the American Senate Republicans, its leader Mitch McConnell yesterday saying President Obama was on the verge of making a “very bad deal” with Iran. He threatened to create a bill that would actually ratchet up sanctions against Iran if a nuclear deal is done saying the regime could not be trusted to have any nuclear program at all.

In an address to the U.S. Congress last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also warned against making a deal with Iran as did Saudi Arabia and other Sunni Arab Gulf states.

The US imposed sanctions against Iran in 1979 after the Iranian Revolution and expanded them in 1995. A decade later the UN Security Council imposed new sanctions after Iran refused to suspend its uranium enrichment program, the sanctions targeting the nation’s oil, gas and petrochemical industries as well as investments and banking.

US Secretary of State John Kerry says he wants to "re-ignite" negotiations with President Bashar al-Assad to end the conflict in Syria.

Speaking as the war enters its fifth year, Mr Kerry said it was "one of the worst tragedies any of us have seen".

He said the international community was upping pressure on Syria's regime to hold new peace talks, saying "we have to negotiate in the end" with Mr Assad.

More than 215,000 people are estimated to have been killed in the conflict.

"We are working very hard with other interested parties to see if we can re-ignite a diplomatic outcome," Mr Kerry said in an interview in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

'No military solution'

He told CBS News the US was working with the moderate opposition in Syria as well as pursuing a diplomatic track with "a number of different critical players in this tragedy".

"Everybody agrees there is no military solution; there's only a political solution," he said.

The US has "always been willing to negotiate in the context of the Geneva I process," he added, referring to a 2012 plan to end the conflict that included forming a transitional governing body and holding free and fair elections in Syria.

The White House has in the past insisted that Mr Assad stand down as part of a political settlement.

Some analysts suggested that Mr Kerry's comments marked a shift in US policy, but State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf denied this.

She said Mr Kerry had merely repeated the "long-standing policy" that the US wanted negotiations with the regime at the table - but not direct talks with President Assad.

"Policy remains [the] same and is clear: there's no future for Assad in Syria," she tweeted.

Mr Kerry's comments are the clearest indication yet that Washington is coming to terms with the reality that its Syria policy is going nowhere.

Frequent declarations that President Assad is "part of the problem and needs to go" are all very well, but there is simply no sign of him being toppled.

Indeed the rise of a new actor in Syria - the Islamic State organisation - leads many experts to believe that if Mr Assad were to be swept away, then the main beneficiary would be the jihadists of IS. Syria might descend into even greater chaos and bloodshed, if that is imaginable.

Mr Kerry's reference to the Geneva I process of 2012 is instructive. This was seen by many as ruling out any future role for Mr Assad but equally - at the urging of his Russian allies - it did not explicitly call for him to leave Syrian politics. That was to be decided by the Syrian people.

Mr Kerry has been a leading player in international efforts to kick-start peace talks, bringing representatives from the Assad regime and the Syrian opposition together in Geneva for the first time early last year - but the negotiations collapsed after two rounds.

"To get the Assad regime to negotiate, we're going to have to make it clear to him that there is a determination by everybody to seek that political outcome and change his calculation about negotiating," Mr Kerry said.

"That's under way right now. And I am convinced that, with the efforts of our allies and others, there will be increased pressure on Assad."

The civil war in Syria began after President Assad's forces launched a deadly crackdown on a peaceful uprising against four decades of his family's rule.

The country has since been carved up by government forces, the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group, Kurdish fighters and the remaining rebel groups.

A US-led coalition has been conducting air strikes against IS fighters in Syria since last summer. It has also sent troops to neighbouring countries to train Syrian rebels.

On Friday, CIA Director John Brennan said the US had "legitimate concerns" about who might replace President Assad given the rise of IS.

"None of us, Russia, the United States, coalition, and regional states, wants to see a collapse of the government and political institutions in Damascus," Mr Brennan said.

He warned that IS and other "extremist elements" were "ascendant right now" in some parts of Syria, adding: "The last thing we want to do is allow them to march into Damascus."

Not too late to round up a posse, bring 'em in, trial them and publicly stretch their necks after reading all the charges live on TV.
I know the victims of these planned murders of the past, will not be in vain. I don't care what governmental authority they think they have. They do not have the right to kill innocent people in pursuit of higher profits to keep a company or bank alive. How many lies of enormous magnitude are the American people expected to accept from their
government and the mass media, when it fuctions on its behalf? William Colby, former Director
of the CIA, observed that “The agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media”,
which Carl Bernstein had previously confirmed in his article, “The CIA and the Media” (Rolling
Stone, 20 October 1977), in which agency officials boasted that their greatest successes had
been with CBS, with Time Inc. and with The New York Times:


Among the executives who lent their cooperation to the Agency were William Paley of the Columbia
Broadcasting System, Henry Luce of Time Inc., Arthur Hays Sulzberger of the New York Times,
Barry Bingham Sr. of the Louisville Courier-Journal and James Copley of the Copley News Service.
Other organizations which cooperated with the CIA include the American Broadcasting Company,
the National Broadcasting Company, the Associated Press, United Press International, Reuters,
Hearst Newspapers, Scripps-Howard, Newsweek magazine, the Mutual Broadcasting System, The
Miami Herald, and the old Saturday Evening Post and New York Herald-Tribune. By far the most
valuable of these associations, according to CIA officials, have been with The New York Times,
CBS, and Time Inc.

Judging from its recent coverage of the Boston bombing trial, which The New York Times pretends
is a legitimate judicial procedure based upon authentic evidence, nothing seems to have changed.
The evidence in this case for concluding that this was a drill using amputee actors and special effects
filming is overwhelming, where neither Tamerlan nor Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were responsible for the
explosions or events thereafter. The Times insults our intelligence. How, for example, could Dzhokhar
have run over his brother after Tamerlan had been arrested by the police?

The faulty analogy

Consider, for another, Katharine Q. Seelye, “Defense in Marathon Bombing has Echo of Clarence Darrow”
(The New York Times, 13 March 2015), in which she invokes an absurd comparison of Judy Clarke’s
admission in her opening statement that “He did it!” to Darrow’s defense of Leopold and Loeb, where
Darrpw spent 12 hours of emotion-laden appeals to convince the jury to spare their lives and sentence
them to life in prison rather than to impose the death penalty. Seelye, alas, overlooks the obvious:
Leopold and Loeb were guilty, while her client, Dzhokhar Tsarnaov, is innocent.

‘President George W. Bush’s national security advisor, Condi Rice, warned Americans
that Saddam Hussein’s (nonexistent) weapons of mass destruction could result in a
mushroom cloud going up over an American city. No such threat existed. But today
a very real threat exists over all American cities, and the national security advisor
does not notice.

The threat issues from Washington and arises from the demonization of Russia and its leadership.

Wolf Blitzer (CNN, March 13) used the cover of a news program to broadcast a propaganda
performance straight out of the Third Reich or perhaps from George Orwell’s 1984. The
orchestration presented Russia as a massive, aggressive military threat. The screen was
filled with missiles firing and an assortment of American General Strangeloves urging
provocative measures to be deployed against the Russian Threat. Blitzer’s program is
part of the orchestrated propaganda campaign whose purpose is to prepare Americans
for conflict with Russia.’

It was such irresponsible propaganda and so many blatant lies for a media organization
to sponsor that it was obvious that CNN and Wolf Blitzer had no fear of being called on
the carpet for spreading war fever. The so-called “mainstream media” has been transformed
into a Ministry of Propaganda.

Similar propaganda is being spread in the UK where defense minister Michael Fallon declared
Russia to be a “real and present danger” to Europe. US troops and tanks are being rushed to
the Baltics on the pretext that Russia is going to attack.

That such blatant lies can issue from high government officials without a shred of evidence and
without shame should scare you to death. We are witnessing the total disrespect for truth and
human life by high government officials and the presstitute media.

The propaganda is driving the world toward war. The propaganda has destroyed the trust between
nuclear powers and has resurrected the threat of nuclear armageddon. The Russian government
sees that Washington and its NATO vassals are conjuring a nonexistent Russian Threat. Clearly
this conjured threat has a purpose that intends Russia harm.

Washington’s propaganda spread by the presstitutes is the most irresponsible act in human history.
Reagan and Gorbachev succeeded in removing the threat of nuclear war, and the crazed neoconservatives
and their media whores have brought it back.

Washington’s propaganda attack on Russia and Vladimir Putin is like Washington’s attack on Afghanistan
and Osama bin Laden, Iraq and Saddam Hussein, Libya and Gaddafi. Does this mean that Washington
intends to attack Russia in a pre-emptive nuclear strike?

If so, it means the end of the world. Clearly, the threat to the United States and the entire world resides
in Washington and not in Moscow. The threat is the crazed neoconservative ideology of US world hegemony
supported by the unbridled greed of American corporations to control the resources of the world

Putin understands the seriousness of the situation and is working hard to diffuse it, but Washington has
made it impossible to diffuse. Washington’s price is that Putin must hand over Crimea and the Russian
Black Sea naval base, abandon the Russian populations in southern and eastern Ukraine, and accept
NATO military bases in Ukraine. Washington’s demand is a demand for Russia’s pre-emptive surrender.

In the CNN propaganda show, Wolf Blitzer failed to report that German intelligence challenges Washington’s
claims about Russia and that the French and German governments have finally realized that Washington is
insane and are working desperately to stop Washington’s drive toward war.

Washington and its UK puppet have spent the entirety of the 21st century creating death and destruction.
Seven countries have been invaded, bombed, or droned in order “to spread democracy.” Iraq is destroyed,
as is Afghanistan, Libya and Somalia . Syria nearly so, and Pakistan and Yemen are politically and socially
destabilized by incessant US air attacks. The democratic, elected, governments of Honduras and Ukraine
have been overthrown by US coups. Venezuela is next in line, with Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina and Brazil
waiting their turn.

Washington has given the world 14 years of brutal and inhumane war. Isn’t this enough evil? Does
Washington have to give us more?

Washington and the presstitutes have lost their humanity. They have become agents of evil. If mushroom
clouds appear, the responsibility will lie with Wolf Blitzer, CNN, and the presstitutes who beat the drums of war.
