The X-Files. Soon to return.. ?
Fox is close to giving an official green-light to a revival of their iconic science fiction series, which originally aired between 1993 and 2002.
Inside sources are saying, the network has settled on a “short-stack” order for the revival and while the exact size of the order is yet-to-be-determined, it will be less than ten episodes ..
The revival of the series is aimed to close out the lingering story-lines left by the series proper, which, much to the dismay of fans, were left unresolved by the second feature film I Want To Believe.

That having been said might be interesting to see how the X-files ends.
Got all messy there in the end and the Lone Gunmen spin-off ended badly (IMO).

What is the X-Files ?
A series made for Television, and went to the Big Screen.
Theme:
FBI special agents investigate unexplained cases known as "X-Files."
Though the government is convinced that the outlandish reports are false, conspiracy theorist Fox Mulder and realist Dana Scully, for most of the series, stop at nothing to prove that "the truth is out there."
It started in September 10, 1993 and the series completed in May 19, 2002. It was highly popular, and fueled "conspiracy theorists" for years and years.
Mulder is a believer in the paranormal, and the skeptical Scully is assigned to make scientific analyses of Mulder's discoveries which could ultimately be used to discredit his work. Throughout the series the two develop a close friendship.
Chris Carter served as the original executive producer:

R. W. Goodwin, Frank Spotnitz, Howard Gordon, Vince Gilligan, John Shiban, Kim Manners, Glen Morgan, James Wong, and many others were also involved in the production.
Season 4 Episode 12 first aired on January 26, 1997 and had a viewer number of 29.15 million. Titled: "Leonard Betts"
Season 5 Episode 1 first aired on November 2, 1997. It had a viewer number of 27.34 million. Titled: "Redux"
The pilot had an audience viewing of about 12 million.
The pilot introduced the two main characters, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully who were portrayed by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson respectively.
The episode also featured William B. Davis, Charles Cioffi and Zachary Ansley as the recurring characters of the Smoking Man, Scott Blevins and Billy Miles.
The Smoking Man would go on to become the series' signature antagonist, appearing in every season except the eighth.

The episode follows FBI Special Agents Mulder and Scully on their first X-File case together, investigating a string of deaths which Mulder believes to be alien experiments.

Conspiracy of conspiracies..
REDUX - (part 1)
In Canada's St. Elias Mountains, a frozen extraterrestrial body is discovered by an expedition team. Professor Arlinsky, the team's leader, sends ice core samples containing presumably alien DNA to Fox Mulder.
Both Mulder and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) eventually meet Michael Kritschgau (John Finn), a Defense Department employee who claims that everything Mulder thinks he knows about aliens is a lie.
http://www.beyondthesea.it/immagini_bios/m-krit.jpg
Kritschgau tells Mulder that his sister Samantha Mulder's abduction was fabricated, that all evidence of alien biology are merely scientific anomalies, and that the alien body discovered in Canada was fake.
Kritschgau claims that the entire alien mythos is a hoax perpetrated by the U.S. government as a cover for the military–industrial complex.
Distraught by Kritschgau's claims, Mulder loses his faith. Later, the FBI investigates Mulder's apparent suicide. Scully confirms the unseen body's identity.
--------------------------------
As a distraught Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) sits in his apartment, he receives a phone call from Kritschgau, who tells him that "they" may be listening. Mulder, spotting a small hole in his ceiling, rushes upstairs and bursts into the apartment above his and kills government employee Scott Ostelhoff.
http://gamma.nic.fi/~xfiles1/kuvat/xlog_ostelhoff.jpg
He tells Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) about the incident, telling her that Ostelhoff had made numerous calls to the FBI.
The FBI looks into the situation and finds Ostelhoff's body; however, they believe it is the body of a suicidal Mulder.
The next day Scully identifies Ostelhoff's body as Mulder and is met by assistant director Walter Skinner (Mitch Pileggi) who tells her that Section Chief Scott Blevins (Charles Cioffi) is looking for her.
http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/x-files/images/4/47/Scott_Blevins_with_302.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20090323111111
She meets with them, and tells them about the previous incidents leading to Mulder's apparent suicide.
Meanwhile Mulder has broken into the Department of Defense.
http://cdn.seriable.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/xfilesseason5top-710x400.jpg
While Mulder is gone, The Smoking Man (William B. Davis) searches Mulder's apartment, believing he is not dead.
Scully does some research into the phone records, coming to the conclusion that Ostelhoff was calling Skinner.
Mulder meanwhile continues through the Department of Defense Headquarters finding more fake alien bodies inside.
http://cdn.seriable.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/xfiles5AlienRoomPanorama2.jpg
He heads through a tunnel to The Pentagon, where he finds an elaborate filing system and warehouse of evidence, the same warehouse that The Smoking Man was seen leaving at the very end of "Pilot".
Mulder ultimately tracks down a small metal vial that he believes may contain Scully's cure.
Scully debriefs the FBI panel and explains that Mulder was a victim of an elaborate conspiracy and that she was given a fatal disease by someone in the room. As she is about to present her evidence, her nose bleeds and she collapses.

Yes! When I first heard of the revival, I hoped that that would be the reason. I was so broken to find out the 2nd movie didn't follow the main theme - I couldn't even bring myself to watch it. so good to hear they want to follow up with the main conspiracy story.

Scully is down, suffering from the "disease"
REDUX - (part 2)
After hearing of Scully collapsing, Mulder arrives at the hospital where Scully is being treated.
Before he is able to make contact with her, he is detained by Skinner and two FBI agents.
Mulder is then brought to Blevins and a senior agent who demands information on why Scully lied about Mulder's death.
http://www.wearysloth.com/Gallery/ActorsC/tve3176-19930910-372.jpg
After the meeting, Mulder tells Skinner that a traitor in the FBI gave Scully her cancer.
http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/x-files/images/0/0c/Walter_Skinner_sits_with_Fox_Mulder.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20100421115035
In the meantime, The Smoking Man has a meeting with the First Elder (Don S. Williams), trying to convince him that Mulder will join their side if he is given a good reason to do so.

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/x-files/images/b/b1/TheSyndicateMeetsAboutRoush.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20111003212020
Mulder later tells Scully that he wants to reveal the conspiracy to the public. As he is leaving, he meets with The Smoking Man who tells him that he can cure Scully's cancer by using a chip included in the vial Mulder took from the Pentagon.
Meanwhile, Kritschgau goes before the FBI panel, denying any knowledge of Ostelhoff's murderer, also revealing that his son died that morning. Kritschgau claims to work for not only the Department of Defense but also a congressional lobbying firm known as Roush.
Mulder sees Scully and her doctor about the chip. Scully's family is skeptical, particularly her brother Bill, who is quite upset with Mulder. Scully decides to go ahead and have the chip inserted in her neck.
The Smoking Man contacts Mulder, arranging a meeting at a nearby diner.
There Mulder meets his sister Samantha, who calls The Smoking Man her father.
http://i.ytimg.com/vi/Sd9QHD1qLbs/hqdefault.jpg
Samantha claims to not remember anything about her abduction and is reluctant to stay or tell Mulder where he can find her.
The next day, The Smoking Man offers Mulder the truth if he quits the FBI and comes work for him; Mulder refuses.
http://www.rr-magazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/2c15e_Movies_william-b-davies.jpg
Mulder later meets with Blevins, who now has evidence Skinner was withholding information concerning Ostelhoff's death. Blevins tells Mulder he can help him if he names Skinner as the traitor in the FBI. Later, Mulder meets with Scully, telling her he was going to make the deal with The Smoking Man but now will not after his meeting with Blevins. Despite Scully's pleas, he refuses to name Skinner as the traitor in the FBI.
Mulder meets with the FBI panel while "Quiet Willy" follows The Smoking Man with a long barrel revolver, equipped with silencer, telescopic sight and targeting laser.
Mulder tells the panel of the conspiracy against him and Scully.
Questioned by Blevins and the senior agent about whether he killed Ostelhoff, Mulder instead names Blevins as the traitor in the FBI.
The Smoking Man, looking at a picture of a young Mulder and Samantha, is shot by "Quiet Willy".
http://members.tripod.com/cactus_ian/reduxII1a.jpg
Blevins is killed by the senior agent in his office, who makes it appear like a suicide.
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/x-files/images/e/ed/Scott_Blevins_dead.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20060106173619
At the hospital, Skinner meets with Mulder, telling him that The Smoking Man is dead, although his body was not found.
Mulder admits that he guessed when he named Blevins, who Skinner reveals was on the payroll for Roush.
Mulder tells Skinner that Scully's cancer has gone into remission.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BsXIQ3n8Bf0/TWO5yx-EYKI/AAAAAAAALSI/ktR7qyoLp4g/s1600/The%2BUnusual%2BSuspects.jpg
The episode opens in medias res in 1989, when a SWAT team conducts a raid on a Baltimore warehouse.
Inside, they find a naked and disoriented Fox Mulder in a box, shouting, "They're here!" Three men attempt to flee the scene and are captured; they are revealed to be the Lone Gunmen.
As they sit in a city jail, they begin blaming each other for the predicament they have found themselves in.
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/x-files/images/c/c7/John_Fitzgerald_Byers_and_Detective_Munch.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20070523114203
Detective John Munch interrogates John Fitzgerald Byers, who tries to explain what happened.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/c/c0/John_Munch_in_Law_%26_Order-_Special_Victims_Unit.JPG/300px-John_Munch_in_Law_%26_Order-_Special_Victims_Unit.JPG
In the flashback, Byers, a public affairs officer for the FCC, attends a computer and electronics convention. There, he follows a beautiful woman who passes his booth; he also passes by booths manned by Melvin Frohike and Richard Langly, who were both selling stolen cable television.
https://auremmoser.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/the-lone-gunmen_480x360.jpeg
Byers bumps into the woman, she introduces herself as Holly and claims that her daughter had been kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend, who is in the Baltimore area.
Holly possesses a piece of paper with "ARPANET/WHTCORPS" written on it. Byers realizes that the words refer to the Defense Department's computer network, which she requests he hack into. Byers, at the time an unquestioningly loyal government employee, complies after great reluctance. He finds an encrypted file on her daughter, named Susanne Modeski. Just then, a man whom Holly claims to be her boyfriend passes by Byers' booth—Mulder.
http://www.eatthecorn.com/eps/pics/s5/5X01_Susanne.jpg
Byers and Holly recruit Frohike to help them decipher the file. Both Byers and Frohike decide to assault Mulder, but they don't do it when he introduces himself as an FBI agent. Returning to his booth, Byers finds his FCC colleague being arrested for the hacking he committed. Frohike convinces Byers not to turn himself in, and recruits Langly to help them hack into the FBI database to learn more about Holly. They discover that "Holly" is actually Susanne Modeski, who is wanted for acts of murder, sabotage, and terrorism at a weapons facility in New Mexico.
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-GViThaUNogE/Ux21W7ea17I/AAAAAAAACaY/gkQfW51My9M/s1600/xfiles-502.jpg
Susanne admits her deception but claims that she was scapegoated for trying to leave her job at the weapons facility. There, she had been working on ergotamine, an aerosolized gas that causes paranoia and anxiety. Susanne claims that the government plans to test the gas on civilians in Baltimore.
After deciphering the file, the Lone Gunmen find that she was telling the truth, learning the location of the gas. Susanne also finds evidence that she had a tracking device put in a tooth, which she pulls out.
http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/x-files/images/0/05/Byers_examines_photograph.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20070711173457
The four of them head to the warehouse, where they found the gas stored inside asthma inhalers.
http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f273/cleigh6/Screenshot46-3.jpg
Suddenly, Mulder arrives to arrest them, but two dark-suited men came to take Susanne. They fire at Mulder, hitting the boxes behind him and exposing him to the gas. The exposure causes Mulder to strip naked, hide in the box, and hallucinate about seeing aliens in the warehouse. Susanne shoots the men and escapes.
http://www.panelsandpixels.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Screenshot1711.jpg
More men then arrive, led by X, who intimidates the Lone Gunmen. Byers confronts X, asking him about his actions and mentioning the supposed cover-up of the John F. Kennedy assassination. X's unconvincing denial—"I heard it was a lone gunman"—becomes the origin of the trio's name. X leaves, just as the police arrive and arrest the Lone Gunmen.
In the present, Detective Munch does not believe Byers' story, but it is soon corroborated by Mulder. After the Lone Gunmen are released, they encounter Susanne after she has failed to get the press to believe her story; she tells them to reveal the truth to as many people as possible. Susanne is then captured by X, who leers at the Lone Gunmen as he departs with her. Later, the three of them meet Mulder in the convention center and explain what happened to him.

Monica Reyes -
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bd/MonicaReyes.jpg
FBI Special Agent Monica Julieta Reyes /ˈreɪ.ɛz/ is a fictional character in Fox's science fiction-supernatural television series The X-Files. Monica Reyes is portrayed by Annabeth Gish.
A Special Agent with the FBI, she works with her longtime friend and partner John Doggett in the X-Files office, which is concerned with the investigation of paranormal cases, dubbed "X-Files". Introduced in the series' eighth season, Reyes would become a main character throughout the entirety of its ninth and final season, last appearing in the finale, "The Truth".
Monica Reyes was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico, and speaks fluent Spanish.
She studied folklore and mythology at Brown University, and has a Master's degree in Religious Studies.
In 1990, Reyes enrolled in the Federal Bureau of Investigation at Quantico, Virginia. Her first assignment in the FBI was serving on a special taskforce investigating Satanic ritual abuse.
Reyes then served in the New York City field office, where she became romantically involved with special agent Brad Follmer despite the FBI's strict anti-fraternization rules. Reyes was the head investigator in the kidnapping of 7 year-old Luke Doggett, son of then NYPD officer John Doggett.
The boy was eventually found dead, but no suspect was ever apprehended.
In 1999, Monica Reyes transferred to the New Orleans field office.
In 2001, Reyes was contacted by Doggett, now an FBI agent assigned to X-Files department, to assist in on a case involving the disappearances of several individuals who claimed to be alien abductees, as well as the disappearance of fellow agent Fox Mulder.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5b/John_Doggett.jpg
Because of her background, Reyes considered that these believers may have simply formed a cult, but did not rule out the possibility of alien intervention. She stayed with the case until after Mulder was returned by his abductors, but returned to her field office soon after.
She later contacted Mulder, who was back to full health at the time, seeking help on a case she suspected had some link to the murder of Doggett's son.
However, as before, she soon returned to her own work.
Reyes remained with the New Orleans field office until she was called upon to protect agent Dana Scully in May 2001, driving her out to a remote location in Georgia so that the pregnant Scully might deliver her child out of harm's way. Reyes helped deliver the child, and made a permanent move soon afterwards, becoming Doggett's partner on The X-Files.
Doggett and Reyes were last seen in the New Mexico desert in 2002, where they were warning Agents Mulder and Scully of the arrival of Knowle Rohrer, a Super Soldier linked to the alien colonists.
They were fleeing the scene as black helicopters destroyed the Anazasi adobes where The Smoking Man had been living.
Bring back Monica Reyes..my favourite.

who are The Elders
The Syndicate is a "shadow government" group; They were also known as The Elders, The Consortium, and The Group.
Because of their presiding over the cover-up of extraterrestrial life, they were the main force opposing the X-Files investigators, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
An embodiment of the concept of the "shadow government" in conspiracy theory lore, the Syndicate is composed of covertly allied influential government officials and businessmen.
The Syndicate, operating at the highest levels of power, concealed from the world a program by an unidentified extraterrestrial species to colonize and repopulate the planet, as well as their own plans and stake in that future, which they held to be inevitable.
http://scifijaz.com/xp/xcon3.jpg
To carry out murder, cover-ups, sabotage and other wetworks projects, the Syndicate used an unknown number of henchmen commonly referred to as the Men in Black.
The Men in Black were merciless protectors of the conspiracy whose true names, like the members of the Syndicate, were rarely if ever known.
Many worked ostensibly for the U.S. Defense Department, Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency, along with various other government agencies. Prominent Men in Black agents included X, Alex Krycek, the Crew Cut Man, and Quiet Willy.
In the Beginning
The Syndicate was formed at the end of World War II, after the Roswell incident, when German scientists were brought to the United States to work on developing an alien-human hybrid.
Alvin Kurtzweil recounted that when he and Bill Mulder were young men in the military, they were recruited for a project that they were told was concerned with biological warfare.
Deep Throat claimed that it began after Roswell, when an ultrasecret conference of power brokers in the United States, the Soviet Union, United Kingdom, China, France, West Germany, and East Germany, signed a treaty that if an alien spacecraft crashed on Earth and the extraterrestrials survived, the country that held them would be responsible for their immediate extermination.
http://nsa33.casimages.com/img/2014/03/28/140328055500535532.jpg
The group that would become the Syndicate existed as early as 1952 as a secret group within the Department of State. Their activities included experimenting with xenotransplantation, relocating ex-Nazi scientists to the United States after WWII, and covering up the black oil discovered in the Piper Maru in 1953.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/2c/Colonists_TXF.jpg
The colonists in 1973 when they forged their alliance with the Syndicate
The members of the secretive group within the State Department officially broke off ties with the United States government in 1973. However, some of the members continued to work within the State Department.
On October 13, the Syndicate formally forged their alliance with the alien colonists at El Rico Air Force Base.
http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/x-files/images/f/f7/Surrender.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20070406170127
The Cigarette Smoking Man personally presented a folded American flag to the aliens, symbolizing their surrender to a superior intergalactic force.
The Syndicate was also commencing their work on the Project, which would see an immense effort in creating an alien/human hybrid to serve the aliens as a slave race after colonization.
-------------------------------------------
In 1998, the Syndicate learned of a rebel faction among the aliens that was fighting against their brethren and the colonization of Earth. The first incident of rebel violence on Earth occurred in Kazakhstan, where dozens of impending abductees were found incinerated.
Marita Covarrubias investigated the incident and quickly had it covered up. Shortly thereafter, many more abductees were summoned to Skyland Mountain via their metallic tags. Again, the group was attacked and incinerated by the alien rebels.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/02/Faceless_Rebel_Morph.jpg
It was at this time that the rebels were more clearly identified as being faceless—with their facial orifices sewn shut to prevent black oil infection—a telltale characteristic that set them apart as the rebel force.
The following year, the rebels made their most daring—and most destructive—move. Outside of Washington, D.C., they attacked a train car, wherein a group of Syndicate doctors led by Eugene Openshaw were experimenting on Cassandra Spender—the first successful alien-human hybrid.
http://scifijaz.com/e/x/128.jpg
The rebels incinerated the doctors, but left Cassandra alive so that the Project would be revealed and subsequently destroyed. Indeed, one of the rebels killed the Second Elder and assumed his position at meetings of the Syndicate; however, the Cigarette Smoking Man realized this and had the group cease meeting together.
The Smoking Man contacted his son, Jeffrey Spender, and charged him with killing the rebel posing as the Second Elder.
http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/x-files/images/7/74/Second_Elder.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140501195849
However, Spender fails, and Alex Krycek successfully completes the assassination.
Spender then realizes the scope of the conspiracy being carried out by his father, and he pledges his support to Fox Mulder. Having their hand forced by the rebels, the Syndicate retrieved Cassandra Spender and prepared to present her to the aliens so that colonization could begin. However, the rebels instead appear and incinerate the entire group of high-ranking Syndicate members, meaning the destruction of the Syndicate.

Pretty neat share, Bob;
some people are concerned about ethics regarding non humans.
If animals are treated as badly on our planet as some say, with no regard to their suffering souls,
it's quite possible that any alien visitor would be subjected to the same inhumane treatment.
not even considering places like Gitmo and Abu Ghraib, where things already did happen that were covered up (crimes against humans).
It's sobering, shocking, sad, that the gov and the monsters pulling its strings would cover up the truth about visitations,
that there could be neutral, benign, even helpful bogeys out there, and our overlords just shoot them down n cut them up,
something about that bothers me... and i didn't exactly grow up aware of animal rights and the need to refrain from cruelty.
imagine the monsters employed by the Man.
i'll have the alien anyday please. :P

On Tuesday, Fox announced a limited 6-episode “event” of their beloved X-Files. Helmed by original series creator Chris Carter, the new miniseries will be bolstered by David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, the dynamic duo that chase down paranormal cases left in the FBI files, often to the chagrin of shadowy government forces.
“The X-Files was not only a seminal show for both the studio and the network, it was a worldwide phenomenon that shaped pop culture—yet remained a true gem for the legions of fans who embraced it from the beginning. We're ecstatic to give them the next thrilling chapter of Mulder and Scully they've been waiting for,” Fox executives Dana Walden and Gary Newman said in a statement.
The X-Files has always been a group achievement. You benefit by being open to people’s good ideas. The show wouldn’t be the show it is without the contribution of so many good people who work on it.

Recent facebook post I saw says 6 episodes are confirmed; and likely will fill out the end of the series. As long as they offer some more continuity to them main story, I will be happy ... I think also another movie may be possible -- likely all this is being weighed in relation to the new episodes, but I think another movie may well be warranted as well.
On another note, perhaps in response to others', comments I was already somewhat into the "conspiracy theories", while the original X-files series aired, and I was often times amazed how the writers seemed to have info to add into their scripts that was, still underground conspiracy info at the time, yet they seemed to have complete grasp and fully able to work it into believable stories. I was always impressed by this, and by the breadth of their "conspiracies" -- they writers tied many together that at a less obvious level, may well have ties to one another. This was another facet that made the series very entertaining and interesting for me.
Let us hope they keep that same spirit in the new series, and/or in the new movie if it ever comes to fruition.

Wow. I'd not seen the trailer... many thanks.
The other day I saw the pilot episode of REWIND. The series was never taken up, so the 90 minute pilot remains as a kind of standalone TV movie. But it was VERY good... much better, e.g, than the pilot episode of FRINGE, that ran and ran.
The theme of REWIND is a rogue nuke attack on New York in which millions die. Untested time portal technology is utilized to go back in time and change the timeline.
The characterization and dialog are excellent, as well as attention to details such as how important it is (a) not to change anything, or (b) be busted, if you're going back in time in disguise. To merge unnoticed with the people of a previous era, you have to pay attention to a lot of stuff.
I uploaded it for a friend... it's here, till 15 October, so do help yourself. Trust me, it's good. WHY the series was canceled is a question worth asking.

It is really hard to measure that time since it started...how raw things were. And, how much things have changed but it still seems very timeless. It might actually stimulate the genre in a big way. May also trigger some returns of some other good shows perhaps? Who knows. There was a really cool series called 'Dark Skies' from the same time that inlayed actual history into the story of an Alien invasion. Many events in history being turned into episodes. It looks as though they will be bringing such things into the series potentially via the trailer. Something that is usually done now in alot of the great shows / movies.

I'm beginning to be certain that Chris Carter has been lurking here on Avalon researching and gathering material to the show. It certainly does look like it. Wasn't it by the way The X-files that first had that black goo thingy? At least I had never heard about that before and now it's all over the alternative communities.
And yes, Lone Gunmen was a great show. Wonder why it didn't last. Also you might want to check out Millennium if you haven't already done so. Another great show by Chris Carter.
I've been watching Nowhere Man now. If you like X-Files, you might like this one too. Subjects are ranging from secret government to conspiracies and mind control. Not sure if these are all on Youtube but there seems to be quite many of those 25 episodes.

Watch Essential 21-Minute 'X-Files' Miniseries Preview
"With less than a month to go before The X-Files returns from its "13-year commercial break" for a six-episode event series, the long-running sci-fi series has provided a 21-minute video as a preview for the miniseries. The extended clip doubles as a refresher for old fans and introduction to uninitiated viewers who didn't grow up with David Duchovny's Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson's Dana Scully. For viewers who don't have time to marathon-watch The X-Files' nine seasons on Netflix, the "Re-Opened" featurette is mandatory viewing.
Like the original X-Files, the miniseries' arc will feature a combo of "Mythology" episodes – Mulder and Scully's series-long search for proof of extraterrestrial life – and standalone "Monster of the Week" episodes, where the agents are roped into a bizarre investigation outside their UFO pursuits. This time around, the two types of episodes will bleed into one another (as opposed to the original series, which kept the storylines and its consequences separate). "Even in the standalone episode, there's some story to advance," Duchovny says. "It's not just about the case."
At the heart of the six-episode miniseries is the continuing story of Mulder and Scully. "We've always tried to have a human element. It was always tied to how it affected Mulder and Scully as human beings, and same here," writer Darin Morgan, who penned some of The X-Files most beloved and offbeat episodes, says in the preview. "They're going through all these weird stories but the throughlines is them confronting their age and confronting their life choices."
The X-Files' miniseries premieres January 24th. In addition to bringing back the majority of the main cast – even supposedly deceased characters like the Smoking Man – creator Chris Carter and the series' main stable of writers returned for the new episodes."

I can remember , and I mentioned this on a thread recently , I thought disclosure
was possibly being set up in the 1990's for possible exposure as the second
millennium grew near. That was not to be and the reasons for me 'pre internet '
was based on the amount of Science fiction and mainstream documentaries at that
time and the X - files was definitelypart of that , even though many of the episodes
came into the realm ofthe supernatural rather the ET disclosure , though the basic
thread going thru the show , was Mulders search for his sister abducted by ET's.
Since then I have access to the internet and watched all the Camelot/Avalon
witness's and many others and I'm more sure than ever that we are not alone and
are being , and have been visited for eons. Most people are aware of this
phenomenon and I doubt would be shocked at disclosure as was portrayed in the
recent TV adaptation of Arthur C Clarks , Childhoods end. Back in the 90's space
was opening up with Hubble and the first Exo planets were discovered , confirming
that other universes did have planets orbiting them , this opened up the real
chance that we are being visited by off worlders.
I have thought recently that we were again possibly being readied for disclosure
and the younger generation brought up on computer games and gadgets would
be very open and some religious leaders would welcome ' our space bros & sisters'.
The Vatican and the UN have openly discussed it and the Catholic church have
large telescopes observing the cosmos and the UN even have or a had an
ambassador in case they turn up in NY at the HQ building , if I recall...LOL

Hubble workers continued to tweak the telescope during the delay, improving
the solar batteries and upgrading other systems. On April 24, 1990, Hubble

He also gave advanced training and turned Navy SEALS Into Supersoldiers!
http://richardalanmiller.com/
He has Eindetic memory and calls himself an 'Idiot savant' I.E he is a functioning savant!
Eidetic memory is the ability to recall visual information, such as pages from books, magazines, and license plate numbers, in great detail after only brief exposure to it. It is found in early childhood (between 2 percent and 10 percent of that age group) and is unconnected with the person's intelligence level. Like other memories, they are often subject to unintended alterations usually because of outside influences (such as the way an adult may present a query about a memory). If the ability is not nurtured it usually begins to fade after the age of 6, perhaps as growing verbal skills alter the memory process

He never grow out of it but actually developed it!
He actually says 'If you wan't to know whats happening and what the future is going to be, watch 'Hollywood' I.E the films and T.V shows.

When i heard that they were looking to restart it again. To me it was like i never thought it would happen. It really was wonderful news. Timely also.
It really triggered me to revisit this series. I realised i hadn't seen it since it was aired here in Oz in the 1990s and beyond until it finished. I also realised until i had seen it how much i had missed. I still haven't finished. But, for me in seeing this again i was also so grateful for the total lack of drama. Drama based on the pretty consistent pattern of character behaviour involving the total inability to control their emotions and do stupid things based on lack of control (in many TV series of recent times). There is definitely passion with the characters and things are on the line a fair bit. But, nothing mindless.
In that revisit i mentioned still ongoing. I came across the Episode in the 7th series when Moulder finds his sister. It was one of the most moving things i have seen in a long long time. I had missed it all those years ago. It did have a profound impact when i watched recently though:

Fox’s X-Files Revival has Controversial New Theories
X-Files goes ‘Alex Jones;’ Chris Carter on his Fox hit’s return, which warns of a UN takeover and links 9/11 to UFOs
Chris Carter on his Fox hit's return, which warns of a UN takeover and links 9/11 to UFOs
by James Hibberd
http://www.ew.com/article/2016/01/11/x-files-revival-conspiracy
"The truth has never been more out there.
Fox’s upcoming and eagerly awaited revival of The X-Files is updating its conspiracy theories — only this time, the sci-fi series might cause more controversy than when the show told tales of government-aided UFO cover-ups during its initial 1990s run.
In the first return episode screened for reporters (trailer below), paranormal investigators Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) team up with a charming web-series host named Tad O’Malley (played by the usually comedic Joel McHale, here in a dramatic role). The character, loosely based on conservative online personalities Alex Jones and Glenn Beck, bashes the “liberal media” in the episode; at one point, Mulder compares O’Malley to Fox News host Bill O’Reilly (“What Bill O’Reilly knows about the truth can fill an eyedropper,” O’Malley retorts).
Now we don’t want to reveal too much about the episode, or how the conspiracy relates to the show’s existing labyrinthine mythology. What we will report – and stop reading if you don’t want to know anything about the first hour – is that O’Malley eventually sways Mulder and Scully to adopt a new conspiracy that lays a framework for the six-episode revival. The theory involves global warming, war in the Middle East, NSA spying, chem-trails (here called “aerial contaminants”), police militarization, supposed FEMA prison camps, and the eventual military “takeover of America” by a UN-like group of “multinational elites.” The conspiracy theory plays a bit like Oliver Stone during his JFK fever pitch — only if his source material was Infowars instead of UFO lore.
“We live in a CitizenFour world now,” says creator Chris Carter, referring to the documentary on NSA leaker Edward Snowden. “We’ve given up certain rights and freedoms because we want the government to protect us after 9/11. We see the admitted spying by the government. These are not things we’re making up and it informs everything Mulder and Scully and doing are doing.”
Carter describes himself as a “mostly interested observer” in the conspiracy world, and notes he researched the new show by combing through conspiracy websites and attending a conspiracy convention.
“I’ve kept my finger to the wind and trying to figure out what’s relevant and possible credible,” Carter says. “People know the show deals with science and fact and also deals with far-flung theories about not only the supernatural but government conspiracies. It throws out as many questions as it does answers. And I have to say what it’s done for me and the writers it has given us a whole new open field which to run. It’s given the show an interesting new life and context that it might not have had in 2002.”
The U.N. takeover threat, however, is something Carter suggests is credible. “The idea of a New World Order is relevant,” Carter says. When we suggest the show is embracing “right-wing” theories, Carter counters, “It’s not necessarily. I don’t see Alex Jones as right-wing, I see him as libertarian … [and O’Malley is] a character who casts everything in doubt.”
The most eyebrow-raising moment in the premiere is when O’Malley brings the 9/11 terrorist attacks into his conspiracy framework. “9/11 was a false flag operation,” O’Malley declares on his Truth Squad with Tad O’Malley show, echoing on Infowars theory. “It’s all part of a conspiracy dating back to the UFO crash at Roswell.” The clip is presented early in the episode. Later, Mulder and Scully embrace O’Malley’s overall position, though the 9/11 element isn’t referenced."

Well, I just finished watching the first episode of the rebooted X Files franchise, and I've gotta say, I'm blown away by the ground covered in just 48 minutes (approx) of playing time. None of it is new to most Avalonians, of course, but Holy Crap - if anyone watching this ever wanted a primer to bring others up to date about the world behind the curtain, they couldn't do better than to show them this. There are a couple of monologues given by Fox Mulder and an Alex Jones type (played by Joel McHale, late of "Community" fame) that lay out huge areas of mind boggling truths. Maybe the writers wanted to catch the attention of the curious non-fans who will undoubtedly 'drop in' for a look see, figuring that they had one chance to smack them with the big truther pie. (?)
Far from letting our trusty investigators spend a season slowly prying open dark, squeaky doors of conspiracy truths, Fox and Mulder are allowed to hit the ground running: the writers unload both barrels and then reload for another blast. Although they stop short of mentioning extra-dimensionals (reptilians, mantids etc. gotta save something for the rest of the season, I guess :clapping:) spirituality and time travel, all manner of very key secrets about the nature of the cabal are thrown wildly into the viewers' faces: Roswell as a smoke screen, milabs, the breakaway civilization that is bent on dominating earth (and beyond) with technology reverse-engineered from off planet "visitors", the secret space program, human/alien hybrid projects (mentioned in the first incarnation of the show, but here very explicit), free energy, anti-gravity propulsion, weather modification, FEMA camps for the humans who don't comply, the list goes on and on. Chris Carter and his writing team are off to a great start with this series. With five more episodes this year, I'm sure that the investigation of the conspiracy as already laid out will be fascinating. I highly recommend this new iteration of the X Files to all of my fellow Avalonians. :cheer2:
And I'm gonna use it to introduce some high strangeness to those of my acquaintance who are on the brink of awakening.
Namaste,
Brian
P.S. Sadly, I must note that in the intervening 13 years since the original series was cut, neither Anderson nor Duchovny have been able to improve their acting ; the best performance of the first episode was given by a young performer who won't be coming back for the second one. Those TR3-Bs are pretty effective weapons.

If more people start questioning whether the information being presented in the new XFiles show is valid, this may be a good resource.
Though the first show certainly shows promise ( it doesn't look like we are going to having more of those wearisome "monster of the week" formula episodes, at least) as far as touching on many of the most relevant issues in conspiracy theory, so far it seems to be going the way that Steven Greer has been trying to lead, inferring that there are no regressive ETs, only evil humans using ET technology and DNA for nefarious NWO purposes.
It's surprising to me that FOX has been allowed to air a show with so much dangerous speculative references, but it makes me wonder if the elite are really hoping now that the public will buy the "no evil ETs" theory.
And if so, why?

I liked that they discussed toroidal energy and that Tad O'Malley is a direct knock-off of Alex Jones. Great dialog between O'Malley and Mulder. Really looking forward to the next 5 episodes and many more seasons to come.
Also, I found it particularly interesting that Project Blue Beam was loosely referenced.
I definitely have more questions than answers, but the truth is out there and we should all "trustno1"

I was also blown away by the loads of in your face truths, like : " really? you 're doing this? " We may not know what they are up to, but to me it was to discredit the truth. just as aside (and it has nothing to do with this thread) David Duchovny began his carreer as at least a soft-porno artist (I briefly saw it on late night German TV before I clicked it off; no, folks, I'm not interested in porno- I have better things to do); and if my read sources are correct James Dean was nothing more than a male hustler in LA before he was elevated to the status of movie star and Kevin Kostner made several hard core porno films before he became famous and once famous had the money to pay for the suppression of his porno films-

Onawah, prepare to be disappointed. Episodes 1 & 6 are mythos, and the rest are monster of the week. :)
Also, don't forget this show is created by people who are into this stuff and love the entertainment value. After all these years, why wouldn't the reboot contain all this modern material? I think it's silly to believe everything on the subject has an agenda. Not everyone is out to get you or to divert public attention. The old X Files had just as many "REALLY? This is on TV?!" moments.

There is no part 2 to the first episode, that was the whole episode. Tonight we are lucky enough to get the James Wong directed episode! Clip from the wiki:
""Founder's Mutation" was written and directed by James Wong, making it his first directorial contribution since 1996's "Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man", as well as his first writing credit since 1997's "Never Again", both of which aired as part of the show's fourth season.[1][2][3] "Founder's Mutation" was the fifth of the miniseries' episodes to have been written and filmed, and it was originally going to be the fifth episode to air.[1][4] However, it was later chosen to air the day after "My Struggle".[4] The episode guest stars Doug Savant, Rebecca Wisocky, Omari Newton, Aaron Douglas, Vik Sahay, Ryan Robbins, Christine Willes, and Kacey Rohl.[5]"

To answer your question, it seems that repression has gotten worse since the old XFiles, the mainstream media is even more controlled now, and the elite are getting more desperate to further their agenda, or so we are told.

I am looking forward to seeing this series (next week). I would lie to add (as an admirer of Duchovny and Anderson, the latter proving herself an excellent actress in many UK serials and dramas) that Duchovny may have started his acting career in soft porn movies, but his previous activities include a BA in English Literature from Princeton, an MA from Yale and an unfinished PhD from Yale also. He is also an accomplished musician and has recorded his own songs. Whilst he is no angel, he obviously is no intellectual slouch either! I think it is his intelligence which makes his performance so interesting- he has a nice, but very slightly ironic edge I think.

Science in the x-Files?
(Source (http://wtop.com/tv/2015/07/umd-professor-provides-science-behind-x-files/slide/1/))
Anne Simon, ph.D., university of Maryland.
A local professor has been a science adviser to the show since the series began in the 1990s. "Much of the science in this science-fiction show is actually true".
“I think when the science is real, it comes across as real,” Anne Simon says. “… I think it’s always best when we hear the truth.”
Simon was teaching biology and researching viruses at the University of Massachusetts. The drama revolved around two FBI agents who investigated unexplained, paranormal events. It ran for nine seasons, ending in 2002; Fox recently announced they would be reviving the show for six new episodes which started this January.
Shortly after seeing the show’s very first episodes, Simon realized the show’s creator was a family friend, Chris Carter. She says, “Chris loves science. He is a real science fanatic and he wants the science to be correct. But he doesn’t have a formal science background.”
When the opportunity arose for her to join the show as a biology adviser, she was thrilled: “I loved the character of Dana Scully. She was a scientist. She was being realistically portrayed. She was gorgeous. She didn’t know everything about everything. She knew medical science and infectious diseases. She was a skeptic. She was a terrific role model for women and for young scientists.”
Simon asked her University of Massachusetts students whether the show had influenced their decision to go into the sciences. “Half of the hands in the class went up. Yes; I think positive portrayal of science in movies and on television is very helpful to get students to understand they could have a career like this. Really, we’re here to search for the truth. I can’t think of a more fun job to have. It’s discovering things that no one has even thought of before. And figuring out if it’s true. And teaching young people to love science.”
When Carter wanted to know how a scientist could tell whether an organism was alien, Simon thought, “What does every cell on the planet — all of our cells, bacterial cells — what do we all share? I had to think of one of these things and make it different. We talked about DNA; all of the DNA on the planet has the same four constituents. So for this alien, we made it six. That would instantly tell you it was not of this planet.”
And what would a scientist do if he or she found an alien virus? “I’d call the authorities! I’d call the government! This all ended up in the show.”
(Spoiler alert) - The truth is, real science is the underpinning of many of the episodes. And real life can be just as scary as science fiction.
“We’re always worried about infectious agents – especially viruses,” she says. “There are a lot of viruses that we don’t know about that are still hidden. They’re hidden in animals that are located in very remote regions and that are just now coming in contact with humans. The opportunity for viruses in one species to actually infect another species is real and it happens.”

From : The Guardian (22 Jan 2016) "The X-Files review – reboot gets off to a stuttering start then gains momentum (http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2016/jan/22/the-x-files-review-revivial-new-episodes)"
"The third episode, however, is one of the best The X-Files has ever done. It reevaluates old cases and discusses how many of the X-Files aren’t relevant anymore. It’s a complete dismantling of the show’s entire formula, subverting the way we look not only at this program specifically but horror movies and other genre pieces as well. An amazing performance by Rhys Darby (of Flight of the Concords fame) anchors what should be another “monster of the week” case but adds a new dimension to all of those old episodes that we’ve been binging on in preparation for this return. It’s a re-evaluation, which is a wonderful and justified reason for the cast to reconvene"
Ah, I wonder if it has anything to do with the way "Conspiracies" are now much more in the "public domain" ?

David Icke and many others and as a Scy - fy fan it looks good , as with all these
shows it was to short 43 mins was just enough time to set it up and the 5/10
minute punch line was a little bit of a let down. It was fine for people like us who
know everything they were portraying and referencing and Mulders monologue near
the end was great with Weather wars etc. But most would of gone over the average
viewers head and they would just think it fiction. Still I enjoed it and we will see
where it goes from here and may wake up a new generation of couch ufologist's LOL...

Well, they damn near crammed every "alt" theme into one episode. It felt a bit forced, but hey...they have to get it all in 6 episodes, right?
I didnt begin watching the original x files till it went into syndication. The themes appealed to me much more at that point. My journey into so called conspiracy had begun. But now, all these years later, knowing what I know now, I was curious as to how i'd react to the shows resurrection. And the truth is, I was more amused than entertained. The show was decent, it hadnt changed much..but I had. It was sort of sad in a way.
If you ask me, the biggest mystery in the new x files isnt alien abduction, its Scully's unfathomably smooth face. Not a line or wrinkle to be found. I just found myself saying out loud repeatedly to no one in particular: "whats the deal with Scully's face???" In other words, it would have been really annoying to watch the episode with me.
Plastic surgery or alien dna? You decide. In all seriousness, I found it to be distracting. It was that odd. Why on earth do women do this to themselves? It's not attractive. It doesn't look good. They dont look younger. It looks weird. It looks f#cking weird man.

' Forced' sums it up and made it a bit disappointing for me , In the fan shows they
say that episode 1 and 6 are about the classic UFO/Alien story line ,the other 4
are stand alone episodes with hints to the main plot. There is speculation on
whether there will be another mini series depending on this and that ?
But they have spoiled what could have been a 12 or more part story line
as in 'Dark skies ' and really parodied the alternate research and disclosure
scene , as with basing the news character on Alex Jones who is not into the
UFO scene per say , though does acknowledge it especially the false flag
ET possible invasion meme. 43 mins is to short for an episode as I said
above for me.

Afraid I have to agree with those of you who found it lacking. What a Conspiracy Mash up that first episode was. Too much. Over the top. Wonder if the producers are going to give David Icke, Jordan Maxwell, Alex Jones, Bill Ryan, Kerry Cassidy, and all the others and their forum contributors credit for essentially writing that first episode. It was as though the writers surfed the forums and just copied/pasted dialogue. It would have been much more interesting if an event unfolded that lead to these discoveries, not just Fox Mulder's time off work surfing Conspiracy sites. We giggled a bit. We're both huge fans of David Icke, so it was fun hearing Mulder say "problem, reaction, solution". That said, I can't help but wonder if his revelation diatribe didn't discredit many of the Conspiracy Facts. Looked a bit looney tunes..

I've been looking around. Maybe some people tried to ignore it, or feel a bit off if they mentioned it. Or they had no idea what a translation might mean.
The first episode is called 'My Struggle".
Which in German, is the same title of a book by a certain man going by the name of Adolf Hitler: "Mein Kampf". (My Struggle)
Chris Carter seems to have a wicked sense of humour and may also be trying to indicate something.
Some feel that the Roswell crash was of German origin. As in Patagonian origin.

I noticed the exact same thing, but hesitated to say it because I'm not sure its significance.
The episode's title is 'My Struggle', which is 'Mein Kampf' in German.
That was the title of Hitler's Autobiography- which has just recently lost its 70 year copyright and is now being printed again (apparently) like hotcakes since it's in the public domain.

I enjoy the X-Files, but the problem I have with Hollywood programs that deal with alternative truth is that they make it easier for the public to dismiss what they hear from genuine researchers as being tinfoil hat crazy. I noticed this especially with the introduction of 9/11 as an inside job in these episodes. I am curious about why this series is coming out at this time...

I think there's a big caution to throw out here. Besides all the 'hide stuff in plain sight' combined with being a vehicle for muddying the truth aspects, I have the feeling that the return of this show is deliberate in a number of other ways and ultimately a big psyop.
I had to turn it off for feeling so assaulted and won't watch any more episodes. Besides the extremely sick and disturbing overt imagery - of which of course every nook and cranny of every bit of staging was pinpointedly chosen for a purpose - I'd bet that this show is being used to showcase the current state-of-the-art subliminal technology in both imagery and music - and possibly in interface with the GRID.
I think it's naive to not dig really, really deep as to what extremely sophisticated technologies this might mean. The human brain has been mapped. Satellite? blanketed AI may be long perfected and in use. There's a reason the world's TV's were forced to abandon analog years ago and a mysterious, sealed black box forced into every house with cable TV. There's a reason cell towers and everything 'smart' is talking to each other. Targeted mind control weaponry is long sophisticated.
I'm suggesting that this mass gathering of people interested in the extremes of this subject was deliberately created as a great opportunity. It may be making you individually and/or you in group a new experiment. That it may be putting yourself in a perfect 'chair' where state-of-the-art mind control and manipulation technologies could meet and possibly exposing your undefended self to a sort of temporary or permanent 'rewiring' not for your benefit.
I think it's falling into a big trap to run so gleefully into this event and view it only as some step in the disclosure process.

I agree with the "big psyop." Crazy shizt like people with mind power that can throw you around or kill you with their thoughts is utter nonsense. This makes case for calling people tin foil hat crazy.
In the world of Martial Arts MMA etc., which I have more than 35 years training in, we have put to test these claims of the power of Chi and mind over matter crap, the death touch, "dim Mak" etc. simply just does not exist. pure fantasy.
We need to view this science fiction program for what it is, and more importantly, the hidden subliminal programming in it.

Okay my humble opinion..
Because this is supposed to be a free world where we are free to choose, 'they' have to tell us what they are doing to us and do it by way of movies and series so it's unbelievable.
I watched episodes 1-3 of the new x-files and what i noticed was that episode 1 flabbergasted me with incredible near pure truths. Episode 2 was okay too. Then came episode 3, it was so incredibly bad that it made everything unbelievable. I wonder who saw episode 3 yet but when you see that it looks like something your 5 year old would laugh at. It's more a bad comedy with a really cheap bad monster suit. It could not have been made worse. You can't help but notice a lot of effort has been put in to make it this bad.
This figures and fits right in. Its psychological warfare. Now whenever i speak about the truths in X-files my friends will remember also the total crap from the different episodes and glance away uninterested :)
Great job. 1-0 for 'them'.

Indeed, after 13 years, Scully's face is smooth, luminous and wrinkle-free.
Perhaps as a scientist, she has access to cutting edge face creams, or simply a steady supply of Botox injections. She may swill synthetic and organic concoctions, much like the elusive nectar of the gods.
Perhaps the smooth look is suggestive of a hybrid genetic connection

Well, I watched another 'sode.
Yes, #3 was indeed ridiculous as some posters have stated!
I also thought the acting (particularly David's Mulder) was poor; not convincing, timing was "off" and not funny (if humour was the desired result).
Given the great digital enhancements of today, what was up with the reptile outfit?
The bloke (meant to be Australian?) was wearing a silly looking reptile suit left over from some Woolworth's Halloween Sale.
This is not quality television on any level. It is not provocative nor artistic.

I thought it was great. The original series also did have the odd rather goofy story to mix up things - I saw this as just following in that theme, but taking Mulder's new found realization and putting a little fun twist on it for just one episode. I think the fact that it was broke into three sittings may have been detrimental. Perhaps the style change was unexpected by many, but by 1/2 through I realized what was actually going on (style wise) and was able to accept it for one of "those" episodes, that indeed did occur in the original series.
My 2 cents. Still have to watch s10 ep4 -- maybe later tonight ... :)

I Googled “The creepiest episode of x-files.” The inbred hillbillies popped right up. That was my introduction to X-Files, season 4 episode 2, air date was October 11, 1996.
The smell of that episode is still with me today. http://avalonlibrary.net/paula/Recovered/smileys-smiley-with-sign-055883_zpsxnoktfes.GIF
My life was at it’s craziest several years prior, so very little TV life. I did see a couple more, but they weren’t silly ones. One other I recall was with someone sealed off for eternity with a space ship. His eyes went weird like the black goo they talk about today. X-Files was too heavy for where I was at back then.

Seen the first couple of episodes now - enjoying it so far, but won't offer comment seeing as I'm behind the times lol and for most this is old news now, but one interesting correlation to make, is how the supposed Roswell disk, shown in the crash sequence, resembles the Avrocar.
Roswell saucer from X-files:
32860
Avrocar VZ-9
32861
The Avrocar is/was a declassified military project from the 50s to create a saucer shaped craft with conventional jet-engine techonology, which failed miserably. Note the almost identical centrally mounted jet turbine. One of the themes of the episode was ARVs (Alien Reproduction Vehicles), so I was wondering if there was a subtle connection here, or I don't know, maybe it was just a coincidence. Anyway, interesting design by the special effects designers here, and I thought I'd mention it..

Just watched Episode-3.
Probably there are not much "experienced"" X-Files fans here. This was one of the most entertaining episodes of whole X-Files - telling itself in the subtext - with a seemingly silly/impossible story. This is a story that mainstreamers will make fun of. But if you have eyes/ears for realizing a subtle sub-text, this is a tribute to Mulder's open-mind and unstoppable thirst for knowledge. This thirst can make him believe/follow some crazy theories.... like all of us here?
One step beyond, this is a tribute to all alternative/underground seekers. Let mainstream have their fun with the surface story. You & I know "all the inside".
P.S: Frankly, it is also a very big disappointment to read Avalonians posts on episode-3. I would have thought.... well nevermind..

I think this 6 episode run has been a waste of time. Started off good with the first episode but then nose dived rather quickly. I realize they've done story lines before that were off the beaten path, but that was when seasons were 20+ episodes long. Only a small amount of time to work with here. Smoking Man only shown very briefly, not really utilized for what he brings to the table. No mention of the ET phenomenon since the beginning (which is what X-Files was built on, initially). Now they are setting us up for Mulder/Scully wannabes. I expect the last episode to get back to the alien agenda, but a little too late for me. Nice seeing them back together again....but a wasted opportunity, imo.

Can we come back to this episode for a second? I don't know why I just started obsessing over it, I guess part of that is your P.S. above, like I missed something, second is the Reptilian thread. I am a first time watcher of the X-Files and kind of a recent 'researcher' of the other worldly creatures. Whether they dwell in the earth or not, that's just what I will call them for now.
I really have no where special to lead you with my train of thought regarding the X-Files. It's these 'reptilian people' that I hear mentioned so often that I find to be the real mystery.
In the end stage of life, in their last hours, many people in the process of dying have said out loud
that they were seeing alligators, lizards and were rather startled.
Dying is strange enough, now this?

This is more like it...LOL....Basically episode 1 & 6 quote most of the alternate
memes of the last decade and contaminated vaccines caused the epidemic, then
the quickest vaccine development in history saved the day. This is fun but also
rushed it would have been better if all 6 episodes stuck to this storyline and
played it out more coherently , really strange ending ? set up for a sequel ?
either movie or another season.
Over all entertaining but far to much material crammed into 40 minute shows
for me.

"we're all gonna die.."
Alien virus deployed.. to mess up 'humanity'.. only those few elite to survive (and the aliens)..

from the episode -
The show opened with a monologue from Scully, relaying a potted history of her time with The X-Files. She described how she came to realise 'a world existed beyond the world of accepted science,' and how 'dark forces' were at work within the intelligence community.
'You're describing it as a fast moving AIDS without the HIV,' O'Malley asked his on-screen doctor.
'It's all too plausible, I think it's already happening,' Scully told Einstein and Agent Miller.
Scully became convinced that the Anthrax vaccine, given to the military, was the harbinger of the global epidemic.
'They won't know what hit them, their fates were sealed since birth, they are simply puppets,' chuckled Smoking Man.
Once furnished with the right information Scully and Einstein had a race against time to create a vaccine from her indomitable alien genes.
'Without alien DNA you don't stand a chance against the Spartan Virus,' said Scully as they got to work in the lab.
As the credits rolled Scully looked up at the spacecraft hovering over Washington DC.
The episode was written and directed by series creator Chris Carter who has eluded to the possibility of more from The X-Files in the future.

Just to repeat it so some readers get the point..if they were not aware... 'My struggle', in German, is 'Mein Kampf', Hitler's book.
A not so subtle hint that Chris Carter seems to be signaling the whole 'alien abduction, alien invasion, Monsanto genetic shifting, vaccines, population reduction via custom genetic targeted plagues, intelligence reduction (chemical and genetic castration of mind and body), abductions, chemtrails', and so on.. he seems to be signaling a conflation of such...with black ops and beyond Nazi technology (and US black ops technology), mixed in the probably actual aliens, treaties and so on. Seemingly tied to what Carol Rosin spoke of regarding Werner Von Braun's deathbed musings.
Not on Wikipedia, or almost anywhere else, is this connection mentioned on English speaking websites or reviews.
It comes back to that quote: "To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize".
A quote Which has been mis-attributed to Voltaire, but is now, by some sources attributed to a white supremiscist. I suspect not, as my understanding was, from reading on this problem of attribution for the quote, that it stemmed from the groups that followed Voltaire, after the french revolution, when the population found itself fighting the excesses of their own 'spontaneous' revolution. Groups directly associated with Voltaire, originally.
I suspect the association with the white supremacist is intentional and directed, so as to try and create a form of rancor and disgust with the quote so people won't use it (ease and flow of common use being removed at the speaker level- to 'un-meme' the quote) or connect to it's fundamental and obvious truth.
You are looking at a psychologically derived subtle misdirect, if you can see it for what it is. Very hidden hand, typical of their methodology.
The direction and motion of entire countries and regions can change due to a few well placed words, and this is that sort of a set of words.
Those who control populations.... would Definitely want that particular quote to be ---dead dead dead.

Rolling Stone reports - a human perspective playing the actors for the series, "revival"
Actress Gillian Anderson discusses the finale, getting back into Scully's mind-set and how the show feels different over a decade later..
She was 33 at the time of the original series finale and had spent the majority of her adult life playing FBI Special Agent Dr. Dana Scully, the impassive, skeptical voice of reason in the fantastical world of her onscreen foil, Agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny).
Throughout nine seasons, including two after Duchovny left, Anderson faced off with campy Monsters of the Week and, in "mythology" episodes, the dreaded Smoking Man and his apocalypse-engineering Illuminati cronies.
Ultimately, the experience left Anderson in a creative identity crisis. "I remember looking at the back of an in-flight magazine at some point and seeing an ad for the X-Files box set," she says.
"I had such a weird relationship with it, I thought, 'Don't I know that from somewhere?' But at the same time I thought, 'That's me. Why am I on a box set?'" She laughs.
This year, Anderson returned fully to the world of Agent Dana Scully in a six-episode run of The X-Files, which found Mulder and Scully at odds with villains old and new. The finale, which aired last night, found Scully in the position of reshaping the world, and it harkened back to the show's edge-of-your-seat heyday.
Its opening credits sequence promised "This Is the End," but as is the way of series creator Chris Carter, who wrote and directed the episode, the installment left many questions.
To find out just how much of the truth is still out there, Rolling Stone spoke with Gillian Anderson about why she wanted to return to The X-Files and how it left off.
Rolling Stone: If you were in charge, how would you have handled the pressure of bringing back the show?
Anderson: If I had been at the helm, I would've said "We were at the forefront of television back then. We should begin the next wave." I say that not knowing what that would be, or even what that would look like.
It was Simon Pegg who said to me, "That is not what the fans want. They want exactly what you gave them before." And lo and behold, that's exactly what Chris did, because he knows these things and I don't [laughs].
Rolling Stone: Now that you have played Dana Scully again, what do you think of the character's legacy? She set the mold for many strong, female TV detectives that followed.
Anderson: It had to be someone, right? The way the landscape looked at the time that The X-Files started, it was just pathetic. If it wasn't going to be Scully, it had to be someone. So the fact that it was her and that I got to bring her to life is pretty darn cool.
The thing that continues to boggle my mind is that kids of all ages are discovering not just the show but are discovering her as a role model. Young girls today look at her as if she were current, which is a very curious thing. So that's also pretty cool, too.
Rolling Stone: Getting back to The X-Files, what are your thoughts on the finale? What do you think happens?
Anderson: I think Scully saves the world? She certainly is the only person on the planet who can save the world, but it's a cliffhanger. I hope people like it.
After ALL People, all this is, is a TV show. It is designed to get people, a following to watch it, and to discuss it.
That's all it is.
(now where is the sequel?) (ROFL)

The other night I caught the last part of the The X-Files (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_X-Files_(season_11)) episode "This" about Titanpointe (S11:E2).
