NASA on High Alert, YB35 Asteroid might hit Earth on 27-March-2015

NASA on alert as HUGE Asteroid 2014-YB35 set to 'skim past Earth' at 23,000 mph on FRIDAY.

According to Scientists, this 1,000 meter wide mammoth asteroid is capable of wiping out an entire country.

A collision with Earth would unleash an explosive force equivalent to more than 15,000 megatons - of TNT.

As you can see path of the asteroid is shown in an animated 'trajectory map' released by NASA. It can clearly be seen only narrowly missing the Earth, but scientists say, we should no forget that our data can never be 100 percent perfect.

Any impact would trigger devastating changes in the climate, earthquakes and tsunamis leading to the eradication of entire communities.

Just to give you an idea how large this event might be, well It would eclipse the destruction caused by the 1908 Tunguska Event which saw a 50-metre lump of extraterrestrial rock crash into Siberia.

It flattened an estimated 80 million trees and sent a shock wave across Russia measuring five on the Richter scale.

NASA are not on high alert. Where's the evidence for this alert?

The Daily Mail descibes an object that has been observed a total of 51 times over a significant period of time and merited "an object of interest" type categorisation. Quote:
"The newly-discovered asteroid, known as 2003 QQ47, has a mass of around 2,600 million tons (2,600 billion kg). Its orbit calculations are currently based on just 51 observations during a seven-day period.
Dr Alan Fitzsimmons of Queen's University, Belfast, one of the expert team advising the UK NEO (Near Earth Objects) Information Centre, based in Leicester, said: "The NEO will be observable from Earth for the next two months, and astronomers will continue to track it over this period."
The giant rock was first observed on August 24 by Lincoln Near Earth Asteroid Research Program (LINEAR), based in Socorro, New Mexico.

Furthermore, asteroids do not collide, they discharge electrically. Remnants of this discharge fall to the surface. As an object of significant size approaches a planet, the electrical interaction, cause interaction which impacts the fundamental particles of matter, disruption to magnetic and gravity fields. When the Moon for instance coincides with a high tide, sea levels rise and impact our coastal regions. Exactly the same thing scaled accordingly to each approach of such objects.

The Tungusta event is an example of this type of discharge, it was an electrical event not a kinematic event. The kinetic destruction was the product of the discharge. This is a semantic argument I agree but the understanding of the process I contest is badly represented.

By analogy, consider a standard electrical fuse protecting some electrical reactive process. We use them everywhere. At the moment of "overload", at the very point that the fuse blows, the inrush of current is thousands or tens of thousands of Amps for a fraction of a second. We do not see this reaction as the fuse is designed to offset or diminish the destructive process. The same process takes place between heavenly bodies in the cosmos. The cosmos seeks balance and equilibrium at all times.

It will pass by Earth on 27 March 2015 at 06:21 UTC at a distance of 4,473,807 ± 155 km (2,779,895 ± 96 mi), or 11.7 lunar distances, and a relative speed of 10.16 km/s (6.31 mi/s).[2] The Goldstone Observatory is scheduled to observe this object on 20 March 2015, at which time it is expected they will obtain coarse radar images and continuous wave spectra, which may help determine the asteroid's composition.[1]

2014 YB35's next encounter with Earth will be in 2033, at a distance of approximately 3,330,000 km (2,070,000 mi).[2]"

"NASA" just posted four threads (all at the same time I might add) which AFAIK dont mention an asteroid skimming earth. Those threads that get posted by "NASA" are usually uneventful "fillers" as I see them. Like info put out by an AI or something. Anyone else get that feeling?

Asteroid's Close Approach distance is 17 Lunar distance.

2014 YB35
2014 YB35 was discovered on 2014 Dec 27 by the Catalina Sky Survey. It has an absolute magnitude of
18.9, suggesting a diameter of roughly 500 m, but otherwise its physical properties are unknown.
2014 YB35 will approach within 0.03 AU on 2015 Mar 27. It will get close enough to be
observed using Goldstone on Mar 09 and will be observable till Mar 30 after which it will exit
the Goldstone declination window to the south.
We are scheduled to observe this object on Mar 20 and we expect to obtain CW spectra
and coarse-resolution range-Doppler images.

The object will reach magnitudes brighter than 17 during mid-March when it could be a lightcurve target.


The Minor Planet Center has classified 2002 FG7 and 2014 YB35 as "Potentially Hazardous Asteroids."
