Hi Everybody,

For sure money is getting tighter these days, what with the economic crisis and all that. It seems that some sites are pushing a little harder to get donations passing their way to keep the ship afloat, we had the Alex Jones Money Bomb recently where he was after half a million dollars so he could finish off his television studio, or Kevin Treudeau who needed a million or so, if my memory serves me right, for legal fees and a few others which I need not mention to add.

The most basic close on any sale is quite simply to "ask for it" which basically the 'Donate Button' serves as.

I'm not too sure if I have not been paying attention lately, but it appears that there is a "ask for it" banner on the Wikipedia pages now, with the message coming directly from the CEO (handsome man - is it really him?). I will make a donation to the cause as I feel that Wikipedia has an important place on the internet, but this is not the main point I'm trying to make here.

The point is that sudden changes in strategy suggests that not everything is running as planned. After all, why change course in what you're doing if you're heading the right way?

This leads me to think that perhaps Wikipedia is suffering a little due to the economic downturn and it's searching harder for income to keep the business up as it is today. Of course we don't know the behind the scene action of Wikipedia and we don't know if it shrank in size, or indeed has ballooned out of all proportion, but we must assume that the CEO is doing what he can to keep the boat afloat.

As a side note: If you value information at the touch of your finger tips, give Wikileaks $5. It wouldn't kill you and it would protect us better from bogus information websites.

Best regards,

Steve

I made a donation to wikipedia as well. It would be tragic to see that site fail.

Thanks Steve for this information. I always appreciate using wikipedia and I am very often surprise to see the quality of information there. I like the idea and believe it is healthy for a society to have a knoweledge based site for the people, by the people. Not perfect of course, but how much useful.

I will donate.

Namaste, Steven
