The Jade Helm "operation" should cause us to ask:

Would American soldiers shoot Americans while exercising their First Amendment rights?

They already have.

Today is the 45th anniversary of the Kent State shooting (http://www.history.com/topics/vietnam-war/kent-state). For those who do not remember or were not born yet, National Guard soldiers fired upon and killed four protesters on the Kent State University campus in Ohio on May 4, 1970. The soldiers that murdered the four students were not held accountable.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young commemorated this tragic incident with their song "Ohio":

I remember it so well. I lived in a college dormitory. We lit candles and set them in the windows. Know one really spoke of it. We were heartsick and worn out from the years of war. It felt like the beginning of the end. Or maybe just the end.

I graduated from Kent State University and it sent shivers up my spine when walking in that area everyday on my way to classes that were located where that incident occurred. It was pretty hushed up on campus though but every May 4th, a memorial was held there of which I made sure to attend during the years I was there.
