Any ideas as to what was caught on camera here?

For lack of knowing a better forum to create this post - I went with "What does it mean?" because of the nature of the photos I've attached here.

To give you a little background, these pictures were sent to me by a colleague of mine - they were all taken by his mother outside of her home (basically on her property) in Wakefield, Quebec (just across the Ottawa River from the city of Ottawa, Ontario - my hometown) a number of years ago now. Wow! These are UNALTERED from their original state - basically, no Photoshop jobbies here!

She did at one time call up an "expert' to analyze then, but his findings were inconclusive...however, it didn't take much to convince him of their authenticity!

So....what do you think these could be pictures of? I'd love to hear your thoughts...

(The picture showing the reddish-glowing "thing" was taken right out her back door - apparently she could see the lights, originally tried to open the back door to take a look (with camera in hand) and found she couldn't open the door - it was somehow stuck closed. Once she was able to actually open the door, she opened it a little, stuck the camera out the door and snapped this photo...freaky, eh?)

Some of them really do have a "smoky" consistency to them, eh? Almost a lil on the "plasmic" spectrum of smokiness...is this how energy would look if we could see it? Curious...

Shutter speed seems normal, no long exposition.
It would be nice to get the exif information to confirm that.
If its the case and she was not smoking then this is likely some kind of energy caught by the camera.
Would be nice to see if there are major ley lines in the area as they do attract that kind of stuff , they feed off of the line.

I don't know hat they are but we have had a few pictures that resemble them. I don't doubt they are authentic. I think there is something from the other side of the veil trying to make themselves known.

Thanks to all of you for your feedback thus far! Were I to combine the sum of all thoughts into one unified idea, here's what I've come up with:

These are earth spirits, also known as jinn/midwayers/shadow men, that have been here about as long if not longer than we humans have. Making them locals, and not aliens. As the term "spirit" translates to "energy", what we have here are beings comprised of plasma energy. The Ottawa River flows over a very large fault line, and there may very well be Ley Lines intersecting that very spot that these earth spirits continuously return to in order to restore their energy. The dates on the pictures indicate this.

These spirits used to be invisible to us. The veil is lifting...it is the time of the apocalypse, and many things once hidden are being revealed.

She could see "lights" out her back window on certain evenings...and as she lives in the country with nothing but trees out back - it would be a most curious thing indeed that I'd certainly investigate armed with a camera :)

They all seem sort of whimsical and seductive, but the second one is especially intriguing. It appears to have a purposeful shape. For me, it conjures thoughts of a jelly fish...or one of those aliens seen in the movie 'The Abyss'.

I am with Etheric Undergrond. My intuition doesn´t bring me a bad feeling. Elementals, natural beings. The veils are falling so see a glimpse of them IMO.

I wound bet my money on Cigarette Smoke. When photographed real close it looks exactly like in the photos. Cound also be water vapor. Not exhaled humidity, that looks like the orb-pictures.

I'm with Juan and Etheric Underground, except I'd add that it's a mixed bag of beings and that they're coming through a portal. Really cool that she could see them, it would be cool to see what happens if she was in the habit of randomly taking photos, even when she didn't see anything there.

p.s. This looks the same as the pics in the OP to me, only in the pics of the OP, the bugs were closer to the camera and there weren't as many of them.

Being a smoker myself...I certainly recognize the similarity some of the pictures have to a picture taken of cigarette smoke - esp the way it looks with light (from the camera flash) shining on it. There's nothing healthier for the mind than some good skepticism to help make sense of a "mystery". I'm all about logical explanations...as a computer programmer, I deal in logic every day! There ain't no magic going on in my computer...it's all 1's & 0's ;)

But...the bugs...hmmm...don't see the similarity there. They have a more stringy-tracer-like appearance in the light....

Keeping in mind the deliberate forms in some of the shots....bugs & smoke too random for that.

My purpose for posting the pictures is to learn more about what they are pictures of. I am not clinging to any predisposed thoughts of my own on them.

So...if it's only just swamp gas, or cigarette smoke or water vapour - let it be so. I'm not a superstitious man whatsoever. No hocus-pocus in my reality. Only logic and common sense....combined with intuition and a sense of awe about the majesty of the universe :)

Water is known to be a conduit for spirit energy to manifest (water is a conductor).. a home on the Ottowa River sounds like a place many souls would probably travel by, in my humble opinion.

Looks like an angel or other human-like form to me, I can even make out a face and of course those are outstretched arms to the sides. It appears to be in motion:

Three, four, and five remind me a bit of cigarette smoke but I don't think that's what it is. I'd rather think they're just weaker spirits who can't quite manifest like the first two.

Today was my lucky day finding your thread and your colleague's mother photos.
A year after yo started this thread I started an other thread called Plasma entities (http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?90770-Plasma-entities),because I was also looking for answers at that time and tried to find some as you did almost two years ago.Some infos received was very helpful some was rude,but so it is on every forum,no hard feelings.

When I start my tread I have about 8Gb of photos,now I have about 14Gb.Some of them I presented on my thread.

Some of these entities are very shy,some are proud and some are playful,but what is most important they are very interesting when you caught them on camera.I'm sure that your colleague's mother have more photos and when she goes outside she knows very well what she is doing.
These entities are not Jinns,spirits of dead bodies,swamp gas/es,river mist,cigarette smoke,exhaled air from mouth or nose or any other things like that.They present themselves in different forms and shapes and are inoffensive in any way or form.They just passing through and I don't think they return in the same form.They are more like visitors or explorers.They show themselves only in the flash of the camera,but in that moment they can be seen,for a fraction of a second,with naked eyes.And are amazing!

-photo no.1:that red veil is part of something bigger
-photo no. 2: I have a similar entity and I called her "The princess"
-photo no. 3:I often catch on camera similar angles,lines,round shapes and so on and I can only define them as part of some sort of mechanism.
-photo no.4:looks to me more like a griffon with the wings turned upside down as are depicted on Babylonian walls (I like very much this photo!)
-photo no.5:there are two entities (upper left and entire right side) and other mechanism on the left side.

Explanations and resembling of photos of your second post:
-photo no.1:Despite that white cover there is a head with eyes and mouth
