I don't know where they get their numbers, but General Schedule federal employees are capped at around $130,000 per year.

I worked with the federal government for 35 years and I worked my skinny tail off, just as my co-workers did. We busted it all day long and often on weekends. All civil servants are not over paid. I felt I was under paid, even at 6 figures. Complex work requires educated, intelligent people. You can't just hire any joefactory guy to anaylze and negotiate complicated billion dollar projects. As a fiduciary agent I did see waste, tremendous waste, but it was not our salaries!

truth will win out

Thanks Conk,

How long have you been out of service?, may it (salaries) have sprung up for the above echelon of the Public Offices...?, would this be possible...?

All my blessings.

Deega, only two years out. My friends and former wife are still employed. They work very, very hard. The work is stressful.

Now, there are salaries that are wasteful. Under the guise of diversity the government will hire ANYONE. Some of these people are stupid, lazy, inept, or feel self-entitled. They do little work and the rest must take up the slack. I often told my boss that I'd take on the responsibilty of X for a pay increase of half of X's salary. Of course they must fire X. Think that ever happened?
