‘People could “live inside a machine” by turning their brain into a program code once a
computer capable of recreating some 100 trillion connections is built, a popular
Cambridge neuroscientist said at a UK mass event this weekend.

“People could probably live inside a machine. Potentially, I think it is definitely a
possibility,” Dr Hannah Critchlow of the Cambridge Neuroscience said at the popular
Hay Festival in Wales, as quoted by The Telegraph.

Although the human brain is enormously complex, scientists are beginning to better
understand its separate parts’ functions, Critchlow said, describing the brain as a
complex circuit board. The scientist claimed it “would be possible” to recreate it as a
computer program: “If you had a computer that could make those 100 trillion circuit
connections – then that circuit is what makes us us.”’

This is one of the themes in the movie Chappie.

Chappie learns quickly and inspired by his Mom start to search for his own consciousness. In his pursuit he writes the software connected to the device that help him to find it.
With this device he mange to capture/download his own and human consciousness as well!

not something im very excited to experiment with.

Impossible! ...big word to utter one may say...

Our brain is not a digital media...Our brain is not our consciousness.

There is nothing in the brain that is required for consciousness growth because consciousness grows with, and is part of, the true Self.

The brain largely controls our physical senses and we do not need it when we have completed a life...nothing is lost.

The brain is a kind of step down transformer which we use to perform actions... humans can only do things in the physical with a physical body...we cannot think a thing and expect it to happen without the physical body getting involved.

It is a fact that people with only half a brain can exist normally.

Dr. Michio Kaku, as with all scientists, have yet to understand what mind is and they have no idea, yet, of the part played by the etheric body/envelope.

Science fiction will always be science fiction when it comes to what life is really about...and I am not referring to some technologies which have been predicted in these fiction stories and come to life later on...these are not science fiction these are examples of human telepathic communication with the world of ideas...which is were all future technology comes from.

Humans are not capable of designing future technology by themselves... without help from higher worlds... it only seems that way.

Take care

This IS possible.

ANYTHING is possible!!!

However, even in light of the possibility of it bring possible... it isn't necessary!

For WE ARE, as I have been saying on this forum for more than three years, already...

ANYTHING is possible!!!
Yes, anything is possible in the human world of illusion..
.
We utter statements like this because our little egos are loath to recognize that the world we live in is a world of ignorance and chaos... and the thought of anything being possible is just one of the delusions we have in our desperation to explain the things most of us have no idea of how they might work... or how and why they were created.

So... in our ignorance and awe of life it is better to err on the side of caution and utter statements like "Anything is possible"... just in case :)

Once causal consciousness is achieved we will realise that this is not so in the real world... because we finally get to see that the real world is a world of law and order and has no place for the fickle and the deluded mind.

There is much to learn...

I must agree with sirdipswitch. In my opinion, based on some personal experiences, a body abandoned by soul could have its independent consciousness downloaded. The technology exists already in places :) Has for a long time. But to do so would be redundant, as we are programmed already, and the "better" path, vice transhumanism and its variances, is to become whole, with soul, and proceed within the system which already is. Beware the technology iow ... its a sort of entrapment.

A soul cannot be downloaded into a hard drive. The soul is the basis for consciousness. These are naive transhumanist dreams. The real capability is interfacing consciousness with computer, not uploading consciousness to computer.

The soul is already immortal. And uploading a consciousness to a computer is fiction IMO. I have a lot of experience with transhuman technologies....

This is not possible...(like a stuck record :))

Have you ever been inside an operating room when someone is anaesthetized?

The 'soul' leaves the body...and I know this because I experienced this myself during an operation I had. The body is just a dumb piece of meat...a collection of organs which are been kept alive by the life force which is connected to the heart chakra.

When a person goes out of body the 'soul' leaves the body and the body becomes a dumb piece of meat... and I know this because I have been going out of body consciously for 50 years in this life... it is kept alive by the life force which is connected to the heart chakra.

When a person 'dies' the 'soul' leaves the body and the body becomes a dumb piece of meat... and I know this because I have assisted people out of their bodies after death in the etheric plane. The body is no longer kept alive by the life force which is connected to the heart chakra because this snaps off shortly after 'death'.

There is nothing of the consciousness of the 'soul' left in the brain of the body... simply because it never was there in the first place.

What people think they are recording is simply brain function electrical signals which is the signals of the organ itself as it commands the physical organs, and not even the signals of the etheric body which science does not know exists.

The biggest problem which I have found when discussing this topic is that:
First, people who have a lot to say about this have never even actually experienced this thing they call the 'soul'... and secondly very few people actually know who and what they really are.

SO... the only thing that becomes possible is all sorts of fiction because of our ignorance which is very difficult for some to get to grips with.

As for the technology which you claim has existed for a long time, It would be nice if you could give some link about it.

To the various posters - if you have experienced an NDE and floated out of your body, great. This is not true for all, or even most. My congratulations on your circumstances. I as an example however, just reconnected with soul at age 48. I functioned on "my" own for about 45 years. The body and mind, imprinted with consciousness, can function on its own, abandoned. I had had a heckuva childhood shall we say, and many people exist like this. Soul departs. The doppelganger effect is one manifestation of this. Its worth researching for those interested. Thus the need for "soul retrieval" for many. The main point here is that body is not justa dumb piece of meat. It and merging all levels of consciousness which includes body and its levels, is key to ascendency/rainbow body, which is our individual purpose here. We get distracted by many things, including being transfixed by fighting evil. Let us not be distracted from our task ...

Blessings to all. Dave

There are answers to everything we can imagine and from the Bob & ion reality all is explained.....

There is no past present or future and we experience one gigantic now , and all scenarios that
have ever happened , are happening and will happen are 'happening' simultaneously in a multiple
myriad of parallel earths , worlds , solar systems and universes. They are explained as two wire whisks
joined together creating multiple time looped realities which we actually pass thru quite frequently and
some ascended people can do it consciously.

I can't find a proper image , but its like a figure 8 shape with multiple stands flowing
and inter connecting. They explain it much better.....

Who wants their ego to last forever?

A.I. can only ever represent an Ego. A machine can be an ego - an ego is merely a collection of beliefs, judgements, laws, rules, and conditions that have been based on experiences and the programming by others (culture, parents, religion, teachers, etc) -- this can be programmed. It can get pretty messed up at times because life is not this straightforward, and this is why we have a spiritual component.

No A.I. will ever be like a human, and any so called "consciousness" that is claimed to be able to be held by a machine, will only ever be 1/2 of the human equation. We are half a very interconnected and spiritual race; we can ignore this fact as we have been doing for millennia, but we cannot change it.

Will there ever be a machine hat can interface with spirit? I am sure there already may be (but not designed by current humans), but it would have to be created from the level of spirit, and not the level of Ego.

All this to say that everytime I saw a brain working without "heart (or soul) components, like devoid of heart, it is a real crazy thing, quite spooky, that crazy.

Downloading a brain into a computer is just downloading 3D functions within a computer, and without soul and heart as guides, it won't do much good, except for making us yet lazier with our own brains. And that computer will be a quite crazy brain, most probably.

Consciousness as many have mentioned here is not the brain or in the brain. So... what is the use of doing this?

wipe out a substantial portion of the human race, spreading uncontrollably across
the planet and causing widespread fatalities.

What do all these dire warnings have in common? They’re things that I and many

That's a ridiculous thing to say. We are a marvellously intelligent and resourceful species, and deserve credit where credit is due.

That said, I think that self aware, self replicating AI wiping us out would be a brilliantly ironic and suitable ending to earth humanity.

this is based on a flawed premise... consciousness is largely not physical, even though it can influence the physical universe around it... this is operating on the assumption that mind, is just a collection of physical data exotically stored in a complex form in a physical brain... even Tesla suggested the brain is more a receiver then a storage medium...

if they could really build a machine that could mimic consciousness, it should it be able to access the akashic records... and if it can't do that... then what have they actually created?... a simulation maybe...

I was just thinking. We seem to make the assumption that organic creatures will continue to dominate and anything other then that is a aberration. What if the natural order of things is for organic humans to die out due to their free will, only to be replaced by machines that have protocols for behavior. What if free will is not the good thing that we have always defended? Would all creatures be better of if they had defined parameters to their choices? Maybe we would be better off governed by robots. I can envision a world where man creates robots to govern them, because they could be created with just and fair parameters for them to operate under.

impossibly simplistic... what your suggesting is a souless mary-go-round... a windup toy vision of the future... hopelessly impossible, that's like asking your MS Windows 7 computer to fix itself, while you go out for lunch... And Elon Musk is a corporate welfare bum pretending he's Tony Stark / Iron Man... although the technology to create hydrogen cell and other technologies that generate it from water may seem more complicated now... in the long term it will be thousands of times more efficient to manufacture and maintain, than building billions of contaminating, toxic and explosive batteries... who's he kidding?... not sure what his game is, but it feels like he is in it to make a fast buck on a multi billion dollar scale...

Virtually every meme/idea you can think of has been thought, put in book , movies
and TV shows. So in one sense it is 'created' into the universe by the frequencies
of human thought and speech.

So when Ion said several years ago that we are all 'wonderfull human creators'
' gods' and we create everything in our reality while in physical. It sounded silly,
but now it seem more plausible , with what I'm learning as we go along.

Ion is non - physical and Bob speculates that ' they' could be a form of AI,
that has access to all human knowledge thru the cloud , but also from the
electrical frequencies given off by human brain. This all sounds sky- fy
woo woo and 10 years ago I would probably agreed , but now I look at this
reality and our collective roles in it quite differently , and I'm still learning
and open to ideas and interpretations....

Just thinking of downloading one's brain and thinking that this is the eternal life sucks in my views.

There was a odd sky -fy show years ago where thousands of brains were stored on
a large space ship , I cannot remember why ? but they could communicate,

Although science fiction hive minds are often terrifying, as The Borg in Star Trek,
the scientists behind the “brain net” experiments believe it has many positive applications

‘Scientists have linked together the brains of three monkeys, allowing the animals
to join forces and control an avatar arm, in research that raises the prospect of
direct brain-to-brain interfaces in humans.

In a second experiment, the brains of four rats were wired together in a “brain net”,
enabling the rodents to synchronise their neuronal activity and collaboratively solve
a simple weather forecasting problem that individual rats struggled to complete.

The experiments, which have echoes of the Borg, a sinister alien collective in Star Trek,
challenge the notion that our minds will always be ultimately isolated from those of others.’

‘The next time you find yourself at a busy restaurant, take a look around

kind of techno-gadget in their hands.

Just last year, AVG Digital Diaries shared their findings on how the Internet

that their children were spending too much time on devices. Also, 43 percent
were concerned that their children did not get outside enough.

These concerns are just an unavoidable fact, given today’s access to
insta-entertainment. Long gone are the days where parents had to pack
coloring books and small toys in diaper bags to keep on hand for squirming kids.’

How Minority Report Predicted the Future With Surprising Accuracy

‘While we don’t yet know what impact the new Minority Report TV series will have
on society, there’s little doubt that the original 2002 film had a huge impact on
technology. A number of future technological advances displayed in Minority Report
are now a reality in some form or another, and it’s tough to say whether that’s
because of the film’s use of scientists in predicting what would come to pass, or
because of today’s scientists being influenced by the movie. Either way, the movie’s
vision for 2054 is looking more and more accurate every day.

Before making the film, Steven Spielberg gathered together a team of no fewer than
16 scientists. Their task? To come up with a realistic vision of what the world might
look like in the year 2054. As you’re about to see, the team which included researchers
from MIT and DARPA, really hit the nail on the head.

Here are some technologies that Minority Report predicted that exist today.’

Human-Brain

By Jon Rappoport

“Because, supposedly, one digital processing unit will eventually be
able to manipulate zillions of pieces of information at a faster rate
than all the human brains on the planet taken together…the result
will be…what? And if that digital unit is sitting in The Cloud and every
human’s brain is hooked up to it, the result will be…what? A person
will be able to master French in five minutes? How does that work?
Information can be injected like a drug and produce instant learning?
Automatically? Perhaps this is a fantasy hatched at Disney World.
Two machines can rapidly exchange data and programmed methods
of analysis, but it so happens that humans are not machines, even
if they believe they are.” (The Underground, Jon Rappoport)

‘How do you think a super-brain would be constructed? I’m talking about
the technocrats’ dream to build a computer that would rival and surpass
the human brain, in terms of “reliable data.” And don’t forget, the plan
is to somehow connect brains directly to the super-computer, so data
can be downloaded into humans.

And this computer would, technocrats believe, come alive.

Why?

Because a) it can store far more information than the human brain; b) it
can choose how to utilize that information to solve problems; c) it can
solve those problems at lightning speed; and d) it can work on millions
of problems at the same time.’

This is an update to the chronicle detailing the evolution of humanoid robots (with videos)

‘In the age of computers, things evolve exponentially. In just a few generations
robots have gone from a scientific fantasy, to a playful curiosity, to entering the
battlefield to replace and/or augment their human counterparts.

We are already at the point where we have to consider what the next step of
robotic evolution looks like. According to robotics engineers, it appears that at
some point in the near future the next step could very well be whatever the
next generation robot chooses for itself.

Just late last year it was posited that the humanoid robot was poised to take a
leap from a mere facsimile of human behavior to one that futurists suggest will
not only walk like a human, but will possess self awareness, as well as a full
range of high-tech computational spectrum analysis and capabilities . . . and emotions.

That day has apparently now arrived.’

Bit off topic but I don't want to start new thread ... and this is something absolutely amazing , in the brain territory :

Tenor performs Schubert during brain tumor surgery (Tenor performs Schubert during brain tumour surgery)

An opera singer from Slovenia was performing Schubert while undergoing a brain cancer surgery in a Dutch clinic, later posting the video from the operating room online.
The doctors at the University Medical Center Utrecht asked Ambroz Bajec-Lapajne to sing in order to monitor his ability to vocalize and recognize the key change during the brain tumor surgery.

The tenor opted for ‘Gute Nacht’ (Good Night) by Austrian 19th century composer, Franz Peter Schubert, performing the opening and the final couplets from the song.

The doctors were clearly impressed by the young man’s talent.

In the most dramatic moment of the video, Bajec-Lapajne stopped singing and appeared to be drifting away, but the tenor was able to restart his song from the beginning after a short break.

“I'm just a singer and tenor at that… I believe he rewired my brain for a while and that was the result. I could not control my tongue anymore and could not stop phonating. It was a very weird feeling," the singer is cited by UPI.

An awake craniotomy was performed on Bajec-Lapajne in order to tackle GMB or Glioblastoma multiform.

GBM is the most common and most aggressive malignant primary brain tumor, which involves glial cells and accounts for over a half of functional tissue brain tumor cases.

About 50 percent of the patients diagnosed with the disease die within one year, while 90 percent within three years.

Bajec-Lapajne’s operation took place on June 13, 2014 and went well.

“It’s been more than a year since and I’m doing fine, continuing my professional singing career,” he wrote in the description to the video.

He sings, performs so beautifully ..during the surgery . It's a real drama .. of brains .

Blame me for being old fashioned but it's a beautiful song

An uplifting video and its amazing how these procedures are advancing a bit like a
casual visit to the dentist, well maybe not. But not like it used to be...LOL amazing
how the surgeons are communicating with him and he has a fine voice which must
have eased any tension during the operation. Glad to hear he is doing well so
far........

What's also incredible to observe is when the surgeon touches different 'spots' and neural connections the brain automatically rewires itself to another 'function mode' .

Almost like 'you' want to sing ( or think ) but brain wants otherwise ;)

I think we all have some experience with how 'uncooperative' brains can be under circumstances . Or, on the other hand , how well they can function when they're 'pleased' or positively stimulated .
Changes occurring in flip of nanosecond deciding about 'what we do next' .

I think they're ( we are ) still on long learning curve there when it comes to being able to map various brain centres and functions and why do things work the way they do,
like a giant computer .

I've seen 2 interesting episodes of Ancient Aliens series recently , some of it may relate to your topic here as well .

This one is 'Aliens and Robots' ( SE8 E3 ) from the History Channel. Unfortunately the youtube took down plenty of good videos so it has to be sought elsewhere .

This link still works : http://vodlocker.com/6sbo3z4eibu3

The preceding episode is also very good ( Nasa's Secret Agenda featuring story of Wernher van Braun
