The TPP, Monsanto, Rockefeller, Trilateral Commission, Brzezinski:

All hands on deck for global, economic, corporate dictatorship

There are dots to connect here. They’re real, and they’re spectacular.

Let me begin with a brief exchange from a 1978 interview, conducted by reporter Jeremiah Novak. He was speaking with two American members of the Trilateral Commission (TC), a group founded in 1973 by David Rockefeller and his intellectual flunkey, Zbigniew Brzezinski.

NOVAK: Yes, but why doesn’t President Carter come out with it and tell the American people that economic and political power is being coordinated by a [Trilateral Commission] committee made up of Henry Owen and six others? After all, if [US] policy is being made on a multinational level, the people should know.

RICHARD COOPER [Trilateral Commission member]: President Carter and Secretary of State Vance have constantly alluded to this in their speeches.

KARL KAISER [Trilateral Commission member]: It just hasn’t become an issue.

Source: [U]“Trilateralism: The Trilateral Commission and Elite Planning for World Management,” (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0896081036/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=0896081036&linkCode=as2&tag=wwwnomorefake-20) ed. by Holly Sklar, 1980. South End Press, Boston. Pages 192-3.
This through-the-looking-glass moment summed up the casual arrogance of Trilateral members: of course US government policy was in the hands of Trilateralists; what else would you expect?

US government policy most certainly covers the area of international trade—and Cooper and Kaiser were foreshadowing blockbuster trade treaties to come: e.g., NAFTA, GATT (which established the World Trade Organization), CAFTA, and now, the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), which is being negotiated in secret among 12 nations responsible for a major amount of world trade and world GDP.

Here are two key Trilateral quotes that reflect this global outlook—by which I mean a world dominated by mega-corporations:

“The nation state as a fundamental unit of man’s organized life has ceased to be the principal creative force: International banks and multinational corporations are acting and planning in terms that are far in advance of the political concepts of the nation-state.” — Zbigniew Brzezinski, 1969. Brzezinski was Obama’s foreign policy mentor after Obama won the Presidency in 2008.

Any doubt on the question of Trilateral Commission goals is answered by David Rockefeller himself, the founder of the TC, in his Memoirs (http://www.amazon.com/Memoirs-David-Rockefeller/dp/0812969731) (2003):

“Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure—one world, if you will. If that is the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.” “Integrated global political and economic structure” means: domination of populations via giant corporations.

Here is the payoff. The current US Trade Representative (appointed by Obama in 2013), who is responsible for negotiating the TPP with 11 other nations, is Michael Froman, a former member of the Trilateral Commission (http://nomorefakenews.com/dir666/tc-list-2011.pdf). Don’t let the word “former” fool you. TC members resign when they take positions in the Executive Branch of government. And when they serve in vital positions, such as US Trade Representative, they aren’t there by accident. They’re TC operatives with a specific agenda.

The TPP IS a major item on the Trilateral to-do list (https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2015/05/06/a-fantasy-that-explains-globalism/). Make no mistake about it.
Let’s move along to Monsanto, one of those mega-corporations the Trilateralists fervently favor.

From 2001 to 2008, a man named Islam Siddiqui was a staunch US lobbyist for, and vice president of, CropLife America. Siddiqui represented Monsanto, BASF, Bayer, Dow, DuPont, Syngenta—the biggest and most aggressive biotech GMO corporations in the world.

On October 21, 2011, Siddiqui’s new appointment (by Obama) was confirmed. He became the federal government’s Chief Agricultural Negotiator, and served in that position until he resigned on December 12, 2013. During his tenure, Siddiqui, Monsanto’s man, was up to his ears in negotiating the TPP.

On April 22, 2009, Siddiqui had addressed the press in a US State Dept. briefing disingenuously titled “Green Revolution” (http://www.globalresearch.ca/obama-gives-key-agriculture-post-to-monsanto-man/18499):

“What we need now in the 21st century is another revolution… you would not do it just by conventional breeding. You need to have use of 21st century technologies, including biotechnology, genetic [GMO] technology… And these molecules, which are being used (inaudible), they are state-of-the-art technologies, using molecular biology. Especially in chemicals [pesticides], they have less harsh footprint on the environment, they are more green, in terms of the adverse effects and ecological effects. They are also tested more thoroughly.” Siddiqui is a disinformation pro. For example, the most widely used pesticide in the world, deployed in conjunction with Monsanto’s GMO crops, was tested so “thoroughly” for safety that it is now declared a probable carcinogen by the World Health Organization (https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2015/04/22/roundup-cancer-link-30000-doctorshealth-professionals-agree/). You may have heard of it: Roundup.

Siddiqui’s tenure negotiating US interests in the TPP surely favored big biotech, and all the companies who make their living selling GMO crop-seeds and pesticides.

The predicted outcome of the TPP vis-à-vis GMOs? It’s obvious. Nations who resist the importation of GMO food crops will be sued, in private tribunals, for interfering with “free trade.”

This is the future writ large, unless the TPP is derailed.

Consider the local movement in Hawaii’s Maui County, where in the last election, citizens voted to block long-standing Monsanto/Dow experimentation with GMOs and their attendant pesticides, until an independent investigation could assess the health effects of those reckless open-air activities.

Monsanto immediately sued to suspend the force of the vote, successfully obtained an injunction, and the case has been hung up in federal court ever since.

Under the TPP, all successful local community actions against GMOs and their pesticides, anywhere in the 12-member countries, would be viewed per se as obstructions to free trade; and instead of engaging in a public and messy court battle (https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2015/04/23/nomorefakenews-exclusive-lawyers-emails-revealed-in-the-monsanto-vs-maui-lawsuit/), corporations could simply sue (or threaten to sue) the offending member country in a private tribunal, automatically defeat the local communities, and win a cash judgment.

Attempts to label GMOs, and previous laws allowing labeling in various countries, could be arbitrarily canceled.

Consider the recent astounding action of US Trade Representatives in Europe. Using yet another disastrous trade treaty under negotiation, the TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership), US Trade Reps pressured the European Union (EU) to modify its stance on pesticides.

The Guardian (May 22, 2015) headline and tag says it all (http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/may/22/eu-dropped-pesticide-laws-due-to-us-pressure-over-ttip-documents-reveal):

“EU dropped pesticide laws due to US pressure over TTIP, documents show… US trade officials pushed EU to shelve action on endocrine-disrupting chemicals linked to cancer and male infertility to facilitate TTIP free trade deal”. Note: this repressive and criminal action didn’t even involve a treaty that had been ratified. The pressure was all about the so-called positive economic impact the TTIP would have, when passed, for Europe. And in the face of that money benefit, and the threat of its removal (by ditching the TTIP negotiations), who would dare curb the import and use of chemicals that achieve something as “minor” as disrupting human endocrine systems and causing male infertility and cancer?

This is the sort of judgment we can look forward to, if and when the TTP and the TTIP are ratified.

This is the face of corporate Globalism. This is the face of the Globalist Trilateral Commission.

Recently, US Senator Jeff Sessions broke the code of silence on what is in the forbidden-to-be-disclosed TPP Treaty. His most pungent revelation concerned “living agreements.” (http://www.sessions.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/2015/5/sessions-sends-letter-to-obama-on-trade-pact-make-living-agreement-provision-public-before-fast-track-vote) Thus giving new meaning to the term bait-and-switch.

Living agreements are arbitrary changes that can be made to the treaty, by Presidential fiat, without consulting Congress, after the treaty has been ratified.

That’s right. In other words, the treaty is the treaty until it isn’t, until it’s something more, something different, something worse, something that empowers mega-corporations to a greater degree than previously negotiated.

Because those corporations, those Monsantos and Dows and Syngentas, wouldn’t want to miss a trick, wouldn’t want to forego suddenly realizing how they can exert even more dominance, would they?

Barbara Chicherio offers a powerful clue about what’s to come if the TPP is ratified (“Trans-Pacific Partnership and Monsanto,” (http://occupy-monsanto.com/guest-post-trans-pacific-partnership-and-monsanto/) occupy-monsanto.com):

“Trade agreements have a history of displacing small farmers and destroying local food economies. Ten years following the passage of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) 1.5 million Mexican farmers became bankrupt because they could not compete with the highly subsidized US corn entering the Mexican market.

“In the same 10 years Mexico went from a country virtually producing all of its own corn to a country that now imports at least half of this food staple. Mexican consumers are now paying higher prices for Monsanto’s GMO corn.” It isn’t just GMOs. Suppose a US pharmaceutical company decides to export a new drug to Japan or Australia or Canada, all members of the TPP. And suppose the drug is highly toxic. And suppose the governments of those nations object. The US company could sue, win a huge $$ judgment, and force the export to go through anyway.

As I’ve written in previous articles, the details of the TPP negotiations and the text of the TPP are secret (https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2015/05/15/what-law-says-the-text-of-the-tpp-must-remain-secret/). Government officials in the member nations are not allowed to know all the details of the treaty, nor are they permitted to reveal what they know to the public.

This is an oligarchic dictatorship of corporations on a global scale. Along with a purposeful dumb-show, played out by government officials: “I don’t even know much about what’s in the trade treaty. And if I did, I couldn’t tell you.” So far, Senator Sessions is the only exception.

Those people who still believe that One World United, delivered to us by the powers-that-be, will lead to a better life for all, need to put that fairy tale away and see the underlying framework and the underlying betrayal.

The Globalist/Trilateral Community aims to destroy the rights and power of all communities, and ultimately, destroy all people who still have a grip on the word freedom.

This is the grinning nightmare descending in the long night, professing to help us all, claiming to know the details of better living through chemistry, asserting that trade treaties couldn’t harm a flea…and television news assures us that, at worst, this is just another he-said he-said debate, nothing to worry about, be happy, march forward, eyes closed, mouths shut, mind quiet.

Hervé , your sure are right, "All hands on deck." We need to do baby crawling before we can stand up into spiritual adulthood. We need to take those small steps toward the world we want to have. The big blue bird ain't gonna send bird dropping that answer all our problems. Thank you for posting this.

All of the content you have put together for the OP is true, except for the context. The TPP is just an overt capitulation for the globalism which has already been developed and is existing, not something that is coming down the pike which needs to be stopped.

The entire century in the last 100 years has worked to implement the plan of globalization, and it is fully in place. All corporations, governments, finance, education, banking and militaries are already agents of this global conglomerate, and the notion of Nation/States is just a ruse to keep all of us common folk in the illusion of choice. We do not have any choice. The illusion of Nation/State has been used to foment wars and divisiveness to keep the memes of fear and fighting for profit alive, and nothing more. All of the franchises of the globalist structure are under the mandates of the UN and are already global agents, and are under the central banking monopoly.

Why is it that we keep thinking that this is something that is coming down the pike? ITS ALREADY ALL DONE.

Why is it that we keep thinking that this is something that is coming down the pike? ITS ALREADY ALL DONE.

So... should we keep our hands below deck?

PS: BTW The OP is a repost of Jon Rappoport's original article (https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2015/05/27/the-tpp-monsanto-rockefeller-trilateral-commission-brzezinski/) :) which can be taken both ways: all of our hands on deck, or... all of THEIR hands are on deck to make it happen their way...

Challenge: what US federal legislator will dare to get arrested over the TPP?
There's a new article from Rappoport here:
https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2015/06/26/challenge-what-us-federal-legislator-will-dare-to-get-arrested-over-the-tpp/
For some reason, I'm not able to copy and paste it, but here's the latest email from him on the same subject:

Challenge: what US federal legislator will dare to get arrested over the TPP?

TPP: US Congress' stage play, con game, pretense, parade of cowards

"There are two sides to this debate." Fake, fake, fake.

(To read about Jon's mega-collection, Power Outside The Matrix, click here.)

When puppets dance on the end of a string, they need to exhibit a pretense of freedom once in a while, to keep the customers interested. It's part of the show. It's part of the con.

The Congress has now granted Obama "fast-track authority." What does this actually mean?

It means that, when the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) Treaty comes up for consideration soon, this gargantuan Globalist takeover of 12 national governments cannot be amended. It cannot be filibustered. From the time the TPP is introduced, no more than 90 days can elapse before the House and Senate cast their yes or no votes.

Most people concede that the passage of fast-track ensures the passage of the TPP, but of course this isn't so.

Nothing would prevent the Congress from voting the TPP down, especially and because the contents of the Treaty are secret. The public isn't informed of the details.

Any US legislator with a trace of courage would do just that---vote it down.

The legislators themselves have been allowed to enter a sealed room and read some of the content. But there is no guarantee that what they're reading is in the final draft of the Treaty.

The legislators may takes notes in the sealed room, but they can't keep their notes. They can't make copies. They can't discuss what they've read with the press or the public.

Again, on that basis alone, any legislator with a shred of honor would vote no on the Treaty.

And no on secrecy.

If a member of Congress did break omerta and reveal to the public what he read in the sealed room, he would be violating Executive Branch regulations on classified data ("national security"), and he could be arrested.

Well, that is exactly what a Senator or Representative who, with courage and honor, opposes the TPP, should welcome. An arrest? He should celebrate it.

First of all, no sitting legislator is going to receive a stiff prison sentence for violating secrecy in this instance.

Second, by being arrested, he would become a popular hero overnight and force the issue of secrecy into the global spotlight.

Third, the whole idea of the Executive Branch forcing legislators to maintain secrecy on a trade treaty is egregiously illegal---and the arrest of an honorable legislator would set up a potential Constitutional crisis. Which is exactly what this country needs.

What crisis? Ever heard of the Separation of Powers? The Constitution was established to create three branches of government---Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary. The powers of each serve as a check and balance on the others, to prevent the federal government from becoming...exactly what it is today: a bloated, fungal, expanding force dominating the states and the people.

The Executive Branch telling the Legislative Branch it can't disclose the contents of a trade treaty to the press and public is a draconian overstep of its power and a clear violation of separation of powers.

The fact that not one of these Senators or Representatives has revealed all he knows about the TPP, in order to correct this fundamental violation (and gotten arrested), is an absolute signal that they're all faking it.

Faking it. In broad daylight.

A few legislators have alluded to what they've read in the sealed room---small pieces of it. But that's it. That's the extent of their "outrage."

The rest is all bull**** of the highest order.

The debate over the TPP, the opposition, the objections---all bull****.

Those Senators and Representatives who will eventually vote no on the TPP know very well that the majority will vote yes. So their no votes won't mean a thing, except for gaining a bit of publicity and perhaps currying a bit of favor with their constituency back home.

The Executive Branch, under Obama, is actually providing an ideal opportunity for any honorable legislator. By classifying the TPP as "secret," a Senator or Representative can get himself arrested and "jump the fence." He can cause a massive uproar.

He can also force his colleagues in the House and Senate to rally to his defense---or expose themselves as corrupt disloyal cowards.

It's a perfect situation for any legislator with courage.

But there are no takers.

They're all fakers. Including Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Rand Paul.

These three know their opposition to the TPP doesn't mean a thing. They know they could go further and spill all the secrets they know, at a press conference, and state in no uncertain terms that they dare the President to have them arrested.

But they won't do it.

They're part of what amounts to an unconstitutional "federal collective," a club of little insiders, and they won't break those chains.

Even when doing so would catapult themselves into the stratosphere as heroes.

Can you imagine it? Every day one of them spends in jail, his/her staff would be issuing statements to the press demanding the restoration of separation of powers.
And the headlines? And stories?

"Bernie keeps spilling secrets in jail!"

"It's been revealed that Bernie Sanders, in his cell, is telling his guards everything he knows about the details of the TPP. He won't shut up. We have a report that the guards have been given soundproof ear pads to wear. Bernie is scratching details of the TPP on the walls of his cell with his fingernails..."

Now THAT'S a stage play.

I'd pay to see that play.

That play would wake a lot of people up.

And for those who, even then, would refuse to fathom what's going on...back to your snoozefest. Everything is wonderful. The State loves you. The State spies on you because it loves you. The State needs people just like you.

John Perkins: How Greece Has Fallen Victim to "Economic Hit Men" (http://www.truth-out.org/news/item/26112-an-economic-hit-man-speaks-out-john-perkins-on-how-greece-has-fallen-victim-to-economic-hit-men)

Thursday, 11 September 2014 00:00 By Michael Nevradakis (http://www.truth-out.org/author/itemlist/user/48720), Truthout | Interview

http://www.truth-out.org/images/images_2014_09/2014_911_perkins_st.jpg

"My sin was ripping off people around the world," said John Perkins, author of "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man," at Transitions Bookplace in Chicago, on February 3, 2006. (Photo: Peter Thompson / The New York Times)

John Perkins, author of Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, discusses how Greece and other eurozone countries have become the new victims of "economic hit men."

John Perkins is no stranger to making confessions. His well-known book, Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, revealed how international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, while publicly professing to "save" suffering countries and economies, instead pull a bait-and-switch on their governments: promising startling growth, gleaming new infrastructure projects and a future of economic prosperity - all of which would occur if those countries borrow huge loans from those organizations. Far from achieving runaway economic growth and success, however, these countries instead fall victim to a crippling and unsustainable debt burden.

That's where the "economic hit men" come in: seemingly ordinary men, with ordinary backgrounds, who travel to these countries and impose the harsh austerity policies prescribed by the IMF and World Bank as "solutions" to the economic hardship they are now experiencing. Men like Perkins were trained to squeeze every last drop of wealth and resources from these sputtering economies, and continue to do so to this day. In this interview, which aired on Dialogos Radio, Perkins talks about how Greece and the eurozone have become the new victims of such "economic hit men."

Michael Nevradakis: In your book, you write about how you were, for many years, a so-called "economic hit man." Who are these economic hit men, and what do they do?

John Perkins: Essentially, my job was to identify countries that had resources that our corporations want, and that could be things like oil - or it could be markets - it could be transportation systems. There're so many different things. Once we identified these countries, we arranged huge loans to them, but the money would never actually go to the countries; instead it would go to our own corporations to build infrastructure projects in those countries, things like power plants and highways that benefitted a few wealthy people as well as our own corporations, but not the majority of people who couldn't afford to buy into these things, and yet they were left holding a huge debt, very much like what Greece has today, a phenomenal debt.

And once [they were] bound by that debt, we would go back, usually in the form of the IMF - and in the case of Greece today, it's the IMF and the EU [European Union] - and make tremendous demands on the country: increase taxes, cut back on spending, sell public sector utilities to private companies, things like power companies and water systems, transportation systems, privatize those, and basically become a slave to us, to the corporations, to the IMF, in your case to the EU, and basically, organizations like the World Bank, the IMF, the EU, are tools of the big corporations, what I call the "corporatocracy."

M.N.: And before turning specifically to the case of Greece, let's talk a little bit more about the manner in which these economic hit men and these organizations like the IMF operate. You mentioned, of course, how they go in and they work to get these countries into massive debt, that money goes in and then goes straight back out. You also mentioned in your book these overly optimistic growth forecasts that are sold to the politicians of these countries but which really have no resemblance to reality.

J.P.: Exactly, we'd show that if these investments were made in things like electric energy systems that the economy would grow at phenomenally high rates. The fact of the matter is, when you invest in these big infrastructure projects, you do see economic growth, however, most of that growth reflects the wealthy getting wealthier and wealthier; it doesn't reflect the majority of the people, and we're seeing that in the United States today.

For example, where we can show economic growth, growth in the GDP, but at the same time unemployment may be going up or staying level, and foreclosures on houses may be going up or staying stable. These numbers tend to reflect the very wealthy, since they have a huge percentage of the economy, statistically speaking. Nevertheless, we would show that when you invest in these infrastructure projects, your economy does grow, and yet, we would even show it growing much faster than it ever conceivably would, and that was only used to justify these horrendous, incredibly debilitating loans.

M.N.: Is there a common theme with respect to the countries typically targeted? Are they, for instance, rich in resources or do they typically possess some other strategic importance to the powers that be?

J.P.: Yes, all of those. Resources can take many different forms: One is the material resources like minerals or oil; another resource is strategic location; another resource is a big marketplace or cheap labor. So, different countries make different requirements. I think what we're seeing in Europe today isn't any different, and that includes Greece.

M.N.: What happens once these countries that are targeted are indebted? How do these major powers, these economic hit men, these international organizations come back and get their "pound of flesh," if you will, from the countries that are heavily in debt?

J.P.: By insisting that the countries adopt policies that will sell their publicly owned utility companies, water and sewage systems, maybe schools, transportation systems, even jails, to the big corporations. Privatize, privatize. Allow us to build military bases on their soil. Many things can be done, but basically, they become servants to what I call the corporatocracy. You have to remember that today we have a global empire, and it's not an American empire. It's not a national empire. It doesn't help the American people very much. It's a corporate empire, and the big corporations rule. They control the politics of the United States, and to a large degree they control a great deal of the policies of countries like China, around the world.

M.N.: John, looking specifically now at the case of Greece, of course you mentioned your belief that the country has become the victim of economic hit men and these international organizations . . . what was your reaction when you first heard about the crisis in Greece and the measures that were to be implemented in the country?

J.P.: I've been following Greece for a long time. I was on Greek television. A Greek film company did a documentary called "Apology of an Economic Hit Man," and I also spent a lot of time in Iceland and in Ireland. I was invited to Iceland to help encourage the people there to vote on a referendum not to repay their debts, and I did that and encouraged them not to, and they did vote no, and as a result, Iceland is doing quite well now economically compared to the rest of Europe. Ireland, on the other hand: I tried to do the same thing there, but the Irish people apparently voted against the referendum, though there's been many reports that there was a lot of corruption.

In the case of Greece, my reaction was that "Greece is being hit." There's no question about it. Sure, Greece made mistakes, your leaders made some mistakes, but the people didn't really make the mistakes, and now the people are being asked to pay for the mistakes made by their leaders, often in cahoots with the big banks. So, people make tremendous amounts of money off of these so-called "mistakes," and now, the people who didn't make the mistakes are being asked to pay the price. That's consistent around the world: We've seen it in Latin America. We've seen it in Asia. We've seen it in so many places around the world.

M.N.: This leads directly to the next question I had: From my observation, at least in Greece, the crisis has been accompanied by an increase in self-blame or self-loathing; there's this sentiment in Greece that many people have that the country failed, that the people failed . . . there's hardly even protest in Greece anymore, and of course there's a huge "brain drain" - there's a lot of people that are leaving the country. Does this all seem familiar to you when comparing to other countries in which you've had personal experience?

J.P.: Sure, that's part of the game: convince people that they're wrong, that they're inferior. The corporatocracy is incredibly good at that, whether it is back during the Vietnam War, convincing the world that the North Vietnamese were evil; today it's the Muslims. It's a policy of them versus us: We are good. We are right. We do everything right. You're wrong. And in this case, all of this energy has been directed at the Greek people to say "you're lazy; you didn't do the right thing; you didn't follow the right policies," when in actuality, an awful lot of the blame needs to be laid on the financial community that encouraged Greece to go down this route. And I would say that we have something very similar going on in the United States, where people here are being led to believe that because their house is being foreclosed that they were stupid, that they bought the wrong houses; they overspent themselves.

The fact of the matter is their bankers told them to do this, and around the world, we've come to trust bankers - or we used to. In the United States, we never believed that a banker would tell us to buy a $500,000 house if in fact we could really only afford a $300,000 house. We thought it was in the bank's interest not to foreclose. But that changed a few years ago, and bankers told people who they knew could only afford a $300,000 house to buy a $500,000 house.

"Tighten your belt, in a few years that house will be worth a million dollars; you'll make a lot of money" . . . in fact, the value of the house went down; the market dropped out; the banks foreclosed on these houses, repackaged them, and sold them again. Double whammy. The people were told, "you were stupid; you were greedy; why did you buy such an expensive house?" But in actuality, the bankers told them to do this, and we've grown up to believe that we can trust our bankers. Something very similar on a larger scale happened in so many countries around the world, including Greece.

M.N.: In Greece, the traditional major political parties are, of course, overwhelmingly in favor of the harsh austerity measures that have been imposed, but also we see that the major business and media interests are also overwhelmingly in support. Does this surprise you in the slightest?

J.P.: No, it doesn't surprise me and yet it's ridiculous because austerity does not work. We've proven that time and time again, and perhaps the greatest proof was the opposite, in the United States during the Great Depression, when President Roosevelt initiated all these policies to put people back to work, to pump money into the economy. That's what works. We know that austerity does not work in these situations.

We also have to understand that, in the United States for example, over the past 40 years, the middle class has been on the decline on a real dollar basis, while the economy has been increasing. In fact, that's pretty much happened around the world. Globally, the middle class has been in decline. Big business needs to recognize - it hasn't yet, but it needs to recognize - that that serves nobody's long-term interest, that the middle class is the market. And if the middle class continues to be in decline, whether it's in Greece or the United States or globally, ultimately businesses will pay the price; they won't have customers. Henry Ford once said: "I want to pay all my workers enough money so they can go out and buy Ford cars." That's a very good policy. That's wise. This austerity program moves in the opposite direction and it's a foolish policy.

M.N.: In your book, which was written in 2004, you expressed hope that the euro would serve as a counterweight to American global hegemony, to the hegemony of the US dollar. Did you ever expect that we would see in the European Union what we are seeing today, with austerity that is not just in Greece but also in Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, and also several other countries as well?

J.P.: What I didn't realize during any of this period was how much corporatocracy does not want a united Europe. We need to understand this. They may be happy enough with the euro, with one currency - they are happy to a certain degree by having it united enough that markets are open - but they do not want standardized rules and regulations. Let's face it, big corporations, the corporatocracy, take advantage of the fact that some countries in Europe have much more lenient tax laws, some have much more lenient environmental and social laws, and they can pit them against each other.

What would it be like for big corporations if they didn't have their tax havens in places like Malta or other places? I think we need to recognize that what the corporatocracy saw at first, the solid euro, a European union seemed like a very good thing, but as it moved forward, they could see that what was going to happen was that social and environmental laws and regulations were going to be standardized. They didn't want that, so to a certain degree what's been going on in Europe has been because the corporatocracy wants Europe to fail, at least on a certain level.

M.N.: You wrote about the examples of Ecuador and other countries, which after the collapse of oil prices in the late '80s found themselves with huge debts and this, of course, led to massive austerity measures . . . sounds all very similar to what we are now seeing in Greece. How did the people of Ecuador and other countries that found themselves in similar situations eventually resist?

J.P.: Ecuador elected a pretty remarkable president, Rafael Correa, who has a PhD in economics from a United States university. He understands the system, and he understood that Ecuador took on these debts back when I was an economic hit man and the country was ruled by a military junta that was under the control of the CIA and the US. That junta took on these huge debts, put Ecuador in deep debt; the people didn't agree to that. When Rafael Correa was democratically elected, he immediately said, "We're not paying these debts; the people did not take on these debts; maybe the IMF should pay the debts and maybe the junta, which of course was long gone - moved to Miami or someplace - should pay the debts, maybe John Perkins and the other economic hit men should pay the debts, but the people shouldn't."

And since then, he's been renegotiating and bringing the debts way down and saying, "We might be willing to pay some of them." That was a very smart move; it reflected similar things that had been done at different times in places like Brazil and Argentina, and more recently, following that model, Iceland, with great success. I have to say that Correa has had some real setbacks since then . . . he, like so many presidents, has to be aware that if you stand up too strongly against the system, if the economic hit men are not happy, if they don't get their way, then the jackals will come in and assassinate you or overthrow you in a coup. There was an attempted coup against him; there was a successful coup in a country not too far away from him, Honduras, because these presidents stood up.

We have to realize that these presidents are in very, very vulnerable positions, and ultimately we the people have to stand up, because leaders can only do a certain amount. Today, in many places, leaders are not just vulnerable; it doesn't take a bullet to bring down a leader anymore. A scandal - a sex scandal, a drug scandal - can bring down a leader. We saw that happen to Bill Clinton, to Strauss-Kahn of the IMF; we've seen it happen a number of times. These leaders are very aware that they are in very vulnerable positions: If they stand up or go against the status quo too strongly, they're going to be taken out, one way or another. They're aware of that, and it behooves we the people to really stand up for our own rights.

M.N.: You mentioned the recent example of Iceland . . . other than the referendum that was held, what other measures did the country adopt to get out of this spiral of austerity and to return to growth and to a much more positive outlook for the country?

J.P.: It's been investing money in programs that put people back to work and it's also been putting on trial some of the bankers that caused the problems, which has been a big uplift in terms of morale for the people. So Iceland has launched some programs that say "No, we're not going to go into austerity; we're not going to pay back these loans; we're going to put the money into putting people back to work," and ultimately that's what drives an economy, people working. If you've got high unemployment, like you do in Greece today, extremely high unemployment, the country's always going to be in trouble. You've got to bring down that unemployment, you've got to hire people. It's so important to put people back to work. Your unemployment is about 28 percent; it's staggering, and disposable income has dropped 40 percent and it's going to continue to drop if you have high unemployment. So, the important thing for an economy is to get the employment up and get disposable income back up, so that people will invest in their country and in goods and services.

M.N.: In closing, what message would you like to share with the people of Greece, as they continue to experience and to live through the very harsh results of the austerity policies that have been implemented in the country for the past three years?

J.P.: I want to draw upon Greece's history. You're a proud, strong country, a country of warriors. The mythology of the warrior to some degree comes out of Greece, and so does democracy! And to realize that the marketplace is a democracy today, and how we spend our money is casting our ballot. Most political democracies are corrupt, including that of the United States. Democracy is not really working on a governmental basis because the corporations are in charge. But it is working on a market basis. I would encourage the people of Greece to stand up: Don't pay off those debts; have your own referendums; refuse to pay them off; go to the streets and strike.

And so, I would encourage the Greek people to continue to do this. Don't accept this criticism that it's your fault, you're to blame, you've got to suffer austerity, austerity, austerity. That only works for the rich people; it does not work for the average person or the middle class. Build up that middle class; bring employment back; bring disposable income back to the average citizen of Greece. Fight for that; make it happen; stand up for your rights; respect your history as fighters and leaders in democracy, and show the world!

TPP legislation serves to legitimize the architecture already in place. Kind of like getting a permit to build after you've after you've built your house and are in violation of every building code in the book.

They are slowing pulling the curtain back. The alarm bells here may sound like warnings of a spinning spider, but in reality they are merely illuminating the web to the masses. Which suggests to me that once all we flies understand we are really amid an elaborate web, there may be no escape.

Challenge: what US federal legislator will dare to get arrested over the TPP?

TPP: US Congress' stage play, con game, pretense, parade of cowards

"There are two sides to this debate." Fake, fake, fake.

by Jon Rappoport
June 26, 2015

I'm going to have to disagree with Rappoport on this one. No senator with any instinct for efficacy would dare play the sacrificial lamb card, even if he or she were very honorably willing to be martyr. They would arrest anyone foolish enough to try without consequence. Rand Paul, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders--whomever--would be tried and convicted of treason, espionage--or even domestic terrorism--in the court of public opinion before you can say TPP three times over. That's the beauty of a propaganda juggernaut equipped with a rubber stamp from every branch of government, the awe of which would make Goebbels blush.

So... what does Greece have they want to get their hands on from Greece's garage sales:

I was reading this article on SOTT.net (The Troika Takes Two More Victims; the Coup Regime sells off Greek Property (http://www.opednews.com/articles/The-Troika-Takes-Two-More-by-Linda-Ross-120717-18.html)) about Greece selling properties, etc... but what interested me most was the comment to this article:

Greece Has More Oil Than Iran. (http://www.sott.net/articles/show/248338-The-Troika-Takes-Two-More-Victims-the-Coup-Regime-sells-off-Greek-Property#comment71429) By: Highland Fleet Lute (http://www.sott.net/users/show/5698-Highland-Fleet-Lute)

The southern part of Crete apparently has more oil than Iran! Speaking on STEP FM in Canada, Professor Antonis Foskolos from the Department of Mineral Resources and Engineering of the Technical University of Crete. said that "we committed a crime back in 1997 when they stopped investigations."

Foskolos said that the hydrocarbon fields under Crete are immense with at least 22 billion barrels of oil. The Herodotus Basin he said has some 14 to 15 billion barrels of oil, while there are only 400 million barrels in Patras. He also noted that the deposits of natural gas recently found in Cyprus are still "small" because there are at least three other layers that have yet to be investigated. Cyprus has four layers.. said Foskolos... but the aforementioned basin under Crete has "7 layers"!

The Professor said that once the oil begins being exploited it will all be exported, since the whole area Crete has an additional 22 billion barrels of oil totaling some 38 billion barrels! "We are at the level of Iran in relation to stocks," (meaning oil reserves) noted Foskolos and concluded by saying that in 2016-2017 this development, and these riches will change the face of Greece. This "will change the strength of the country. "

In an earlier report on hellasfrappe Foskolos had said that the two areas that in his professional opinion have significant amount of deposits are nine mud volcanoes southeast of Crete, in the Greek Herodotus basin. More precisely, the mud volcanoes in this area contain high amounts of hydrocarbon reserves, primarily natural gas, of approximately 1.5 trillion cubic meters! (Click here (http://www.hellasfrappe.blogspot.fr/2011/09/special-report-serious-evidence-of-35.html) for that story)

This is comparable with what has been found in the Nile Delta, the Caspian Sea (deposit Shah Deniz), Norway and elsewhere.

In his expert opinion, the south eastern basin of Herodotus in Crete has reserves that surpass two trillion cubic meter mark. This is a vast amount and can only be compared to what was discovered in the Nile Delta (by SHELL, BP) . He says the sediments are of the same origin and geological formations are very similar. In all so far, it is estimated that there are 3.5 trillion cubic meters of gas located there, which can be equaled to 20-22 billion barrels of oil!

The benefits for Greece are obvious. Foskolos believes that the exploitation of these deposits will create a total of 300,000 jobs. At least 100,000 in the primary sector and 200,000 jobs in the secondary sector, while all revenue can be reaped by the Greek state in 25 years amounts to 437 billion US and this is not counting the profits from the pipeline that will transport the natural gas to Europe ( at a length of 1000 km at a cost of approximately $ 20,000 / km, or 25 billion US dollars.)

Other experts agree with Foskolos as well. A separate report on the Chaniotika nea site said that Professor Giannis Makris says that there are two potential hydrocarbon reserves southwest of Crete, where sediment thickness ranges from 10 to 12 kilometers, and there are hydrocarbon reserves in Western Crete where there are 3 fields of mud volcanoes.

.... and thousands of tons of gold, uranium, osmium and and other rare minerals, apparently.

"Whenever we attempted to start bidding processes that would allow corporations to create infrastructure for the extraction of the resources we received major pressure to abandon the efforts and warnings that 'nothing will materialise' no matter what we do".....

http://www.globalresearch.ca/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/robert-baer-400x266.jpg

We bribed parties and politicians who have enticed hate between the nations. Our ultimate goal was to enslave you!

WebTribune publishes their interview with former CIA agent Robert Baer during his promotion tour in Quebec for upcoming book “Secrets of the White House” last week.
My boss, who was formerly a US Senator, stressed repeatedly that some kind of scam would go down in Bosnia. A month before the alleged genocide in Srebrenica, he told me that the town would be headline news around the world and ordered us to call the media.
Robert Baer, a former CIA officer, has authored many books which disclosed the secrets of both the CIA and the administrations of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. He has been arrested and detained several times. Mitt Waspurh, a personal friend who worked at the Senate and shared information was killed at gunpoint. As a senior CIA operative, Baer worked in Yugoslavia during the 1991-94 period and in the Middle East. He has worked on several documentaries on National Geographic, accusing the Bush administration of waging war for oil.

The interview was conducted live in Canada, during my trip a few days ago. Robert Baer is currently promoting his book “The Secrets of the White House” in Quebec, where we talked. In an interview we spoke of the background of the war in Yugoslavia.

Where and when was your first job in Yugoslavia?
I arrived by helicopter with three agents. We landed on 12 January 1991 in Sarajevo. Our job was to keep an eye on alleged terrorists of Serbian nationality, who were expected to attack Sarajevo.

Who were the terrorists in question and why were they supposed to carry out these attacks?
They gave us files about a group called “Supreme Serbia” detailing plans to conduct a series of bomb attacks on key buildings in Sarajevo in opposition to Bosnia’s ambition to leave former Yugoslavia.

Did that group ever exist and what exactly you were doing in Sarajevo under CIA command?
No such group ever existed! Our headquarters lied to us. Our mission was to alarm and spread panic among politicians in Bosnia, simply to fill their heads with the idea that Serbs would attack. To begin with, we accepted the story, but after a while we started to wonder. Why were we raising such hysteria when the group clearly did not exist?

How and when did the mission end and did it have a name?
For me it ended after two weeks, I landed a new job in Slovenia. The operation lasted a month and had the name “Istina” (i.e. “truth”) although it was anything but!

Why did you go to Slovenia?
I received instructions that Slovenia was ready to declare independence. We were given money, a few million dollars, to fund various NGOs, opposition parties and various politicians who have inflamed hatred.

Did you have an opinion about the CIA propaganda and did your colleagues think?
Of course, no one turns down a CIA mission, especially when we were all nervous and prone to paranoia! Many CIA agents and senior officers disappeared simple because they refused to conduct propaganda against the Serbs in Yugoslavia. Personally I was shocked at the dose of lies being fed from our agencies and politicians! Many CIA agents were directed propaganda without being aware of what they are doing. Everyone knew just a fraction of the story and only the one who create the whole story knew the background – they are politicians.

So there was only propaganda against the Serbs?
Yes and no. The aim of the propaganda was to divide the republics so they would break away from the motherland Yugoslavia. We had to choose a scapegoat who would be blamed for everything. Someone who would be responsible for the war and violence. Serbia was chosen because in some ways it is a successor to Yugoslavia.

Can you name the politicians in the former Yugoslavia were paid by the CIA?
Yes, although it is somewhat delicate. Stipe Mesic, Franjo Tudjman, Alija Izetbegovic, many counselors and members of the government of Yugoslavia, were paid as were Serbian generals, journalists and even some military units. Radovan Karadzic was being paid for a while but stopped accepting help when he realised he would be sacrificed and charged with war crimes committed in Bosnia. It was directed by the American administration.

You mentioned that the media was controlled and funded, how exactly did that happen?
This is already known, some CIA agents were responsible for writing the official statement that the announcers read on the news. Of course the news presenters were oblivious to it, they got the news from their boss and he got it from our man. Everyone had the same mission: to spread hatred, nationalism and the differences between people through television.

We all know of Srebrenica, can you say about it?
Yes! In 1992 I was in Bosnia again, but this time we were supposed to train military units to represent Bosnia, a new state that had just declared independence. Srebrenica is an exaggerated story and unfortunately many people are being manipulated. The number of victims is the same as the number of Serbs and others killed but Srebrenica is political marketing. My boss, who was formerly a US Senator, stressed repeatedly that some kind of scam would go down in Bosnia. A month before the alleged genocide in Srebrenica, he told me that the town would be headline news around the world and ordered us to call the media. When I asked why, he said you’ll see. The new Bosnian army got the order to attack homes and civilians. These were of course citizens of Srebrenica. At the same moment, the Serbs attacked from the other side. Probably someone had paid to incite them!

Then who is guilty of genocide in Srebrenica?
Srebrenica should be blamed on Bosnians, Serbs and Americans – that is us! But in fact everything has been blamed on the Serbs. Unfortunately, many of the victims buried as Muslims were Serbs and other nationalities. A few years ago a friend of mine, a former CIA agent and now at the IMF, said that Srebrenica is the product of agreement between the US government and politicians in Bosnia. The town of Srebrenica was sacrificed to give America a motive to attack the Serbs for their alleged crimes.

Ultimately why do you think Yugoslavia collapsed and why did your government want to do it?
It is all very clear, the people who incited the war and dictated the terms of the peace now own the companies that exploit various mineral resources and the like! They simply made slaves of you, your people work for nothing and that produce goes to Germany and America…they are the winners! You will eventually have to purchase and import what you have created yourself, and since you have no money, you have to borrow, that’s the whole story with the whole of the Balkans!

You were never in Kosovo as a CIA agent, but did you feel any pressure from America?
Of course! Kosovo has taken for two reasons, first because of mineral and natural resources, and secondly, Kosovo is a military base of NATO! In the heart of Europe is their largest military base.

Do you have a message for the people of the former Yugoslavia?
I have. Forget the past, it was staged and false. They manipulated you, they got what they wanted and it is stupid that you still hate one another, you must show that you are stronger and you realise who has created this ! I sincerely apologise! That’s why I have for a long time disclosed the secrets of the CIA and the White House!
