hello.
as per title i had a regression done on me using michael newton's technique. i sort of knew that my mind is a clever bugger but i wasnt aware that it likes to hang on to this reality so desperately. few methods we tried on but i couldnt remain in the hypnosis state. in the beginning i got out of body but then i become super sensitive and any sound or external influence returns me back. i was quite frustrated after as i can achieve much better out of body results under herb, nitrogen or psychedelics. when my mind gets tricked it sort of works, but as soon as questions follow it tries to find source where to look for the answers, so when past life question are being thrown in i was getting stuck. in fact i didnt get fully unconcious, i remember how it went so wasnt fully 'out' - unfortunately.
ill definately work on this during meditations to try alfa and theta states. ill try out binaural beats this weekend too.
would anyone like to share their experiences or perhaps some heads up on how you've overcome this? any recommendations or tips if you been there would be highly appreciated. thank you.

I go to the Native American Meditation video on Youtube and sometimes the flute or water sounds of nature. Focus in on the sounds, not your surroundings and see yourself in your own minds eye, amongst those natural beings of nature. The bees buzzing, the birds chirping and the water fall flowing.

It might be possible to offer you some knowledge but it would only be of value if a clear understanding of your view is known... so...
What do you mean and understand by regression, in your mind... not something you read?
What is your goal with regression... how do you think regression will benefit you and why?

I sought regression to answer pressing emotional questions about my life and why it was that I found no happiness in a very wonderful life with a new life partner. My waking ego state would not let me find a logical answer/s.
Little did I realize what a glimpse of the "past" could do to impact and change me on the deepest levels. My motivation was purely to relieve emotional pain. What I saw was myself as an old man in a large personal library writing in a journal of dollars and cents. When asked by the hypnotist what year was I in, I replied the date on the journal page showed 188..I couldn't read the last digit nor could I move the old man's hand. I was asked to look outside the window and I saw a young man leading one of my/old man's horses and I realized with a surprise that it was my present son. I knew he took care of the horses on my estate. When asked if I had children I replied I have two daughters but they don't want a thing to do with me and live far away in the village. I then said that all I care about is money-referring to that old man's life. When asked to go forward and tell what I was seeing I said it was just black, a comfortable blackness. I realized I had died and when asked what I learned from that lifetime I said,"love is all there is."
The regression gave me everything I needed to explain my present life. My emotional pain ceased that day and I began a new life.

Hello Morbid, i found this article you may find interesting although there are not magic trics but practice, patience and not expecting anything to happend... this is like a muscle you have to not only train and know but ejercise it. You are on you way that is granted. I send you also some good vibes.

well regression to me is getting my mind to go into passive mode and having my higher self speak out.
the goal was to understand another side of my conciousness and continue to remain in contact with it for the rest of my life. ill get there. just got to work on myself more i guess.

Dear Morbid,

You are so right when you say: "well regression to me is getting my mind to go into passive mode and having my higher self speak out."

And I am absolutely positive that you have been regressed several times but you just do not really realize it, and you keep looking for and expecting something absolutely out of this world.

What I mean here is that you have self-hypnotized yourself so many times with external agents (herbs, nitrogen and psychedelics) and probably several times have gone through some levels of spontaneous unorganized regressions. So this makes it difficult for you to see that you are in regression when you are working with a hypnotist. The reason being that you are expecting a completely different experience when you are being hypnotized and regressed by a human handler.

Perhaps if you stop using artificial hypnotics for a while before going to a human hypnotist, maybe you will be able to have a more tangible and better experience with the hypnotist. Another thing that you might want to try is to get yourself hypnotized with the artificial hypnotic agents (herbs, nitrogen and psychedelics) that have worked for you, and then have a friend/handler with experience in regression work take you to a past-life. The handler can simply ask your higher self to take you to the past-life or experience that is bringing you to the session.

I would like to make two points, here. First, you can be hypnotized and not really realize it. I had two regressions and didn't fully realized that had been hypnotized. Then, the hypnotist asked me: "how long do you think that your session lasted?". My answer was: "about 15 min." In reality, I had been there for 2.5 hours.

The second point is that you can be fully hypnotized and go through a regression without completely loosing your awareness. In some situations (and your higher self decides on this), it not necessary for you to reach the somnambulistic state of hypnosis where you completely forget everything about the hypnotic or regression session. In my personal experience, I have found that I remember around 40 to 60% of what's going on. So please, take it easy on yourself if somehow you remember the session. If you listen to tape you will find some sections that you don't remember.

Lastly, if I may suggest, don't set any major expectation on yourself and just accept whatever comes; and know that sometime your questions cannot be answered because you might not be ready for the answers...and have fun.

Many blessings.

thank you jchombre! time did fly. 6 hours went - felt like 2.. i do remember saying some trippy stuff. though i feel like my mind was sort of cornered and perhaps was 'playing along' - it sure felt like it. what i remember clearly is that sometimes i was asked something that followed by a laugh as i thought of first thing in my mind. after being asked to voice my thought i would comment afterwards that its probably my consciousness.. funny that i clearly defined what is me and what is other me..

Dear Morbid and All ~

Your regression experience is absolutely authentic, even if it seems a bit vague to you now. It is genuine.

Yes, your first early memories may seem "wafty" and unclear. That's okay. Perfectly natural.

But the determinative marker is: Do I feel better now? And that feeling of relief will tell you everything you need to know: the regression was indeed effective. You are freerer, better, okay now.

In that sense, it does not really matter whether your regressed life was real or imagined or not: the experience itself was helpful and healing.

And this fact - for me - is the final and best argument in favor of regression therapy: it works. It relieves pain quickly and easily in a way that no other method can.

Cheers,

Selene

Forgot to add a few details about regression experiences and imagery:

Not all – nor even some/most – regression experiences are dramatic or clear. Most are merely vague, wispy images. Moments. Small scenes of no particular consequence: a view out a window, the corner of a quiet room, a landscape or street scene that’s not part of this present lifetime.

But these moments of clarity linger somehow into the present consciousness, meaning “nothing” right now and yet ultimately teaching a great deal because they also convey an emotional component of indescribable allure: these hints are doors to your genuine soul, to yourself. And you know that, somehow.

Each moment can be nurtured, touched, grown into something more meaningful. You will remember more.

So I would suggest that you not press forward with repeated formal sessions too quickly now, but allow yourself some time between sessions to digest and develop some of the smaller fragments from each experience. A great deal can grow in silence. Regression sessions will begin the process of remembering, but time itself is also your friend here. You have nothing to fear; gentle, conscious remembrance will always keep you anchored in this present life. Answers will come when you are ready to hear them. Allow yourself time to grow, and respect your own process.

Cheers and all best wishes,

Selene
